Ned's drinking and gambling had got out of control, he owed a lot of money and things were getting desperate, they wanted their money. Ned decided he could earn more money working in the mines. He would leave Ruth as she couldn't be on site. But if he left this job the house they were in was part of his employment package, so she would have to move out. He thought she would probably go and live with her lesbian lover Andie.
Ned made up his mind next Friday night instead of going to the pub he would tell Ruth he was leaving her and she would have to move out of the house.
He was standing outside of Ruth's bedroom door when it opened and Ruth and a man exited and almost bumped into him.
"What are you doing out here, listening at the door?" Ruth almost yelled.
"Who the fuck is this? Where is Andie? I thought you were in here with her." Ned replied.
"This is Andy, my friend from gym."
"But... but... I thought you were going out with Andie your friend. All those dinners and the weekend away was with this fucking prick?" Ned said angrily. Sizing up the muscular body of Andy he decided to do nothing physical.
"Yes, I never lied to you once, you were always abusing me or not listening to what I said. I always told you I was going with Andy, you didn't know which one. What are you doing here anyway?" Ruth asked.
"I'm leaving you, I'm going to work in the mines, so you and Andy can continue with your fuckfest. You will have 2 weeks before you have to leave the house." Ned said as he walked away.
"I guess now it's out in the open we don't have to sneak around anymore." Ruth said.
"I guess I'll have to move in with Andie, she will be glad to have me. She suggested it before." Ruth said.
"You could always move in with me, I would love that." Andy replied.
"Thanks but no, once I'm divorced that would be the plan, but many things to be sorted out first." Ruth said as she kissed Andy.
"He did what? he said what? Andy said what? You said what?..." Andie couldn't ask enough questions but they all came out as one, not giving Ruth time to answer any of them.
Eventually Andie calmed down and Ruth could explain everything. "Do you want a house guest for a while?" Ruth asked.
"Yes of course, but I thought you and Andy might have been an option.? Andie replied.
"In the future yes, but I want to be divorced before that step, and I have to tell the girls about this. it will be a shock but they know their dad and I were having problems."
Ruth's daughters weren't shocked when they spoke to their mum on the phone, but were supportive of her and said she deserved some happiness. Anne was the oldest daughter at 25, Deb was 22, both were same build as mum, quite attractive. Ruth said she had a gentleman friend and gave a brief history.
"I would like both of you and your boyfriends to come home for the weekend and we will talk about our futures and also to meet Andy." Ruth said hoping they would make the 125 km trip.
"Of course, we all will come, but mum we know auntie Andie, we don't have to meet her." Anne said with Deb yelling in the background.
"OH, silly me, that's Andy a man, not your auntie, bit confusing but we get through, haha." Ruth said laughing. How Ned had thought the same thing. "See you then."
At the coffee lounge half an hour early, Anne and Deb sat with their boyfriends, Dave and Kev. Anne was watching the door looking for mum, when her attention was taken by a male, in a reasonably tight white t-shirt, light colored shorts. He was showing muscular arms, chest and legs from where the shorts ended. White joggers no socks. Probably 50 to 55, grey crew cut.
She politely nodded to her sister and pointed with her eye movement to the guy at the bar. Deb saw him and quickly looked back at her sister and nodded. Both girls kept trying not to look but couldn't. Boyfriends looked to see what they were looking at then frowned.
He stood at the bar with a purple health drink in his hand and kept looking around, then an attractive women approached him and they hugged. She was quite slim but had some definition in her upper body, but her thighs and calves showed she had been working out, they were dressed similar style but her t-shirt was hot pink with black shorts.
He bought her a drink and they walked straight toward the girls table. Then they recognized it was mum. Wow she looked so different, no baggie tops and trackie pants She looked hot.
"Hi girls, boys, this is my friend Andy." Ruth said as she hugged both her daughters. Andy shook hands with Dave and Kev who couldn't believe how buff this older guy, around 55 they guessed.
"Mum you look so hot, maybe the best in your life, and you sir, you're hot too, if you don't mind me saying. Mum you have lost all that weight and added muscle and a different outlook on life, I can see it in your face." Anne said still hugging Ruth.
"Let's sit down and chat, we can all ask questions and catch up on everything." Ruth said.
The girls pulled mum to their side of the table and sat one each side of her, the guys went to the other side and sat with Andy between them.
"I had kept a little green dress that I wore when I met your dad many years ago, I made up my mind I would get back to that size and auntie Andie and I went back to the gym. There I met Andy and he helped me with exercise methods and goals. It's him I have to thank for this body, but there is a problem. The dress is getting a bit tight, not with fat but muscle, I'm getting bigger but not butch, I hope." Ruth giggled.
'Certainly not manly or butch, you look so great mum." Deb said feeling Ruth's bicep and laughing.
"Here comes auntie Andie now." Ruth said pointing to a couple walking towards the table. "And with a hunk!"
The girls looked with their mouths open. Andie was wearing a crop top showing a faint outline of abs and well developed arms. The black yoga pant really showed abs and the curves of her thigh and calf muscular development. The man holding her hand was also well developed, tight shirt and tailored slacks also showing that they were not chicken legs. His grey crew cut and tanned skin completed the look of a positive man.
After all of the introductions, both girls commented on how hot the two women looked for being in their 50s. they also were so happy that they both had such handsome men as their partners.
"When we get back home you guys are going to join a gym." Anne said looking at the boyfriends.
"Three times a week, and no taking it easy, we want what auntie Andie and mum have got." Deb said as everyone at the table laughed.
After discussions about Andy and Ruth living together and it was explained not until after the divorce. Andy had started the action as Ruth didn't have the money.
Everyone went back to their respective homes or the motel for the out of townies, and agreed to meet for dinner and dancing later that night.
The dinner went great, everyone getting to know each other. The girls kept Andy and Luke on the dance floor most of the night. Ruth and Andie thought it was funny, but the boyfriends weren't all that amused.
After the weekend, Anne and Deb with their boyfriends headed back home. Everything went back to normal for a couple of weeks, Ruth and Andie back at work, and gym, Andy and Luke had a financial investment company together and back to work and gym.
"Honey, we have to talk." Andie said to Ruth while the four of them were out at dinner.
"Your breaking up with me?" Ruth answered laughing.
"NO, but I always wanted to say that. Luke has asked me to marry him and I have said yes." Andie still laughing replied.
"Fantastic, that's really great. Congratulations, when? where? Tell me..." Ruth gushed. "You knew and didn't tell me you bugger." Ruth said and punched Andy lightly on the arm.
"Yes, I knew but they wanted it to be a surprise for you, but there is some bad news." Andy replied.
"We want to get married in four weeks and go on our honeymoon for a month. Andy is going to run the business while we are away." Andie said.
"There's no bad news there, what's bad?" Ruth asked.
"I've sold the house and have a month to be out. That means you are homeless, unless you can find some kind gentleman to take in a woman who is not divorced yet." Andie said with a glint in her eye.
"I don't know of anyone like that." Ruth said as she looked into the loving eyes of Andy. "Do you know of anyone babe?"
"We can look on the web, we'll find someone." Andy replied laughing and carrying on the joke.
The conversation went back to the wedding for the rest of the evening. Ruth and her two daughters were going to be in the bridal party. Andy, best man and two guys from the gym groomsmen.
Luke had a son, about 33, didn't see much of him, they didn't get along. Neil was a ladies man, thought he was better than he was. He lived in another state, Luke invited him to come and stay for a couple of days and meet his new step mum.
It was arranged Neil would meet Andie and Luke at a restaurant for lunch.
Andie was sitting at the bar nursing a health drink, when Neil walked in and immediately saw a beautiful slightly older woman sitting at the bar alone.
"Hello, can I buy you a proper drink, something stronger while we get to know each other." Neil said as her sat on the next stool.
"No, thanks this drink if fine and I am waiting for some one." Andie replied.
"I would never leave you waiting, I don't think he is coming. Why don't we get a booth and get to know each other." He wouldn't give up, he thought he had a chance, just because she didn't ignore him.
Andie turned back to the bar and ignored him. "No" was her simple answer.
He put his hand on her shoulder and said "Don't be like that we can be frie..." He didn't finish the sentence, Two things happened. Andie swept her hand up and pushed his hand off of her shoulder and two hands went under his armpits and lifted him off his chair. He was then turned around and pressed to the bar.
"Dad?"
"Neil?"
"Yes son, what are you doing? You were told no, why didn't you stop." Luke asked his son.
"They all say no, but they are just playing hard to get. Usually they mean yes, but don't want to come out and say it." Neil replied smugly. "Why do you care anyway?"
"Well, that's disrespectful and this is Andie, soon to be my wife and your step mum."
"WOW, sorry, I didn't think. I knew I was meet your new lady friend but never thought you would meet someone as good looking as her, I apologize for my actions, I'm pleased to meet you." Neil said apologizing. "You have done very well Dad." Smiling at Andie.
"That's OK Neil, I knew who you were. Luke has shown me photos of you. But you should treat women with more respect, that's probably why you're still single." Andie said. "Let this be a lesson to you."
"Yes mum, sorry mum." Neil said laughing.
The three sat at a table and caught up with all the happenings since Luke and Neil had spent time together last.
"Son I would like you to be my best man at our wedding." Luke asked. "We haven't been the closest, but time to change that." Luke said.
"Sure Dad, I'd love to be there for you." Neil said hugging his dad then Andie.
The wedding went off perfectly, Luke and Andie headed off on their honeymoon after the reception, but before they left Neil and a young lady came up to wish them a good trip and Neil said to Andie "I want to thank you for your talk you gave me about how to treat women, I changed my whole attitude and then met my new girlfriend, Tia, and we couldn't be happier. I guess because I didn't have a mother after dad's divorce, to guide me but now I do have a mum again. Thank you."
Tears and hugs all around then Luke and Andie looked at each other slightly tearful, joined hands and left the reception.
Ruth and Andie went home to Andy's and her new home, Ruth had found someone to take her in after all.
Two months later Ruth's divorce was through, her and Andy were married and headed off on their honeymoon.
Both Ruth and Andie still worked at their old jobs at the supermarket, even though they were quite wealthy due to successful husbands. Ruth explained that by the help her boss, Margaret, had given her with the cash payment enabled her to escape a abusive relationship and her and Andie to men their husbands and move on to a better life.
Anne and Debs boyfriends Dave and Kev were going to gym 3 days a week, they were under threats of terrible things if they slackened off.
