The Fourth Challenge

Fantasy challenge: On Day 1 of this week's challenge, write down three sexy things (positions, roleplay, kinks, whatever) you would like to try with your partner. These may be things you've tried one or two times, or things you've never done. Share the lists with each other. During the week, do at least one of the activities from each list.

They looked at each other. Gloria spoke up first. "Okay. I think a really important rule for this is no kink-shaming. If you tell me you want to try something I am not interested in, or that I find maybe even repelling, I won't make a big deal out of it. We'll discuss it, find out why it's interesting to one of us and unappealing to the other."

Dan agreed. "And maybe in thinking about that, we could find an alternative that's interesting to both of us. I bet Dr. Coleman thought about communication and compromise as part of what makes sex better." He hugged his wife. "Think you can come up with a list by dinner? It says 'the first day', so we can stretch it to tomorrow morning if you want."

"I'll think about it, you too. if we're ready, we're ready. if we can't think of three things, maybe we can discuss the ones we have, and come up with a few more." Dan agreed, they kissed and parted.

Dan noted that their kiss was warmer than the perfunctory smooches they'd routinely traded a month earlier, before their visit to the semi-celebrity sex therapist Dr. Cheryl Coleman. The sex life improvement plan Dr. Coleman had provided involved weekly challenges designed to improve intimacy and fantasy in a committed couple's sexual life. So far it was working pretty well.

Gloria puzzled over her list. She had a foggy memory from the Blue Parrot night of being naked and demanding Dan stay dressed -- and perhaps there would be fun in having it the other way, too. So that could be fun, and (assuming Dan's recall of that evening was accurate, hers was a total blur) there had been talk of "worshiping" each other.

Gloria gestured with the bottle. "I thought it might be a good idea to have a glass of wine before opening the envelopes. Maybe two."

Dan took the glasses, and Gloria poured generously. She put the bottle on an end table and took her glass back from Dan. Sitting next to him on the couch, she put her head on his shoulder and closed her eyes. "Whatever you chose for your list, I love you and trust you enough that I'm confident we'll find something interesting."

"Well, Dr Coleman did say we'd start stretching our comfort zone with some of these. As long as we stretch together, I guess we'll be okay."

"Let's take turns. Open my envelope and read the first."

Dan did so. "Your first kink. 'One. We take turns being a naked worshiper of each other, obeying dressed partner's sexual whims, until the dressed partner decides to get naked also.'. She read, "2. The role-playing fantasy from Challenge 3 was so fun, I'd like to try another scenario. Yeah! That was great fun, what I remember of it. We can think of a few to try. Maybe I can be the horny customer and you can be the pizza boy who delivers me some 'extra sausage'."

Dan groaned. "Puns like that -- jeez, Gloria, I love you." He looked at Gloria's list. "Three..." He read over it. "Bondage? That definitely counts in kink territory."

"It's a trust thing -- I trust that you will look out for me, and so I yield myself completely. And vice versa."

"Okay, I see that. What about the pain thing?"

Gloria drained her wine and stood up. "Actually, check the freezer. I'm going to take a shower. If there's a pizza, make it and then 'deliver' it to the bedroom. If we don't have one, just come knock on the bedroom door in about fifteen minutes."

Dan was impressed. This was the kind of fun that hadn't been in their sex life for years, and they were already going to role-play one of his fantasies. He resolved to offer Dr. Cheryl Coleman a ringing endorsement for her book.

"I like it. I want my extra sausage." Gloria pulled Dan's polo shirt up over his head and pressed herself into his chest, then backed up enough to brush her nipples through his chest hair.
