Forewarning to anyone who has read my stories before this story is going to be a much slower burn than my other stories and therefore it will be a bit longer to get to the fun parts.

Zach was feeling a little down on himself. His girlfriend had broken up with a couple of months ago and he was still trying to deal with the disappointment of the end of his relationship. He was finally in a place where he was considering going after other girls except that he had no idea where to start. He hadn't exactly been pursuing many other girls before he met his ex and now that they were over he really didn't even know where to begin. Even though he knew it was a bad idea and he didn't have much hope in his plan succeeding but he had decided that he would go to a Hooters restaurant and see if he could he make friends with any of the attractive waitresses that worked there. Eventually Alyssa did come back around by his table and asked, "Do you need anything else while you wait for your food?"

"No I think I'm good so far. Just enjoying having a relaxing afternoon so far on my day off," Zach replied to her.

"Well that sounds nice. I also want to apologize to you again for giving you a hard time for staring at me. Actually I forgot to ask you what do you do?" Alyssa asked him.

Zach hesitated for a moment because right now he didn't have the most glamorous job but he was working on changing that, "Well right now I'm working at a bank but I'm trying to write some stories that I can hopefully get published."

Alyssa smiled back at him saying, "That's actually really cool that you like to write. I'm sure you're a great writer and the bank job is just to pay the bills at the moment." Zach smiled brightly at Alyssa after her amazing compliment.

She then quickly looked down at her watch realizing that she needed to hurry, "Oh shoot I've been over here quite a while. I better get back to work before my boss comes and yells at me, but I want to hear more about what you are writing when I come back." Zach wanting to calm her down responded, "Hey its okay, its okay. I'm not working today and honestly I have nowhere else to be today so I'm perfectly okay to wait for a bit longer. Plus it means I have more time to talk to you if you're able to stay and chat for a moment." Alyssa finally took a moment to catch her breath before looking around the restaurant to see how empty it was.

Once she was done scanning the restaurant she turned back to Zach with a big smile on her face saying, "I'm sure I can stay and talk for a moment longer. Plus I didn't get the chance to ask you what you are writing about." Zach beamed at the opportunity to tell this gorgeous woman what he was writing about. Zach smiled at Alyssa before he started telling her about what he was writing about.

"Well right now I'm working on an idea for a fantasy series but I'm also working on the idea for a mystery story since I personally love reading mysteries," Zach couldn't help but smile as he talked about his writings. Alyssa smiled at him as she really could see how happy he was to talk about what he was working on.

"Well I'm not quite sure yet but I'm hoping to do something where I can help some other people, maybe with working to help the environment. I would like to have a job where I get to travel around a bit because I'd love to see some of the places around the world." "Well I'd better head back to the kitchen and see if your wings are ready," Alyssa got up from the booth and headed back to the kitchen. Zach couldn't help but smile as he watched Alyssa walk away. "Well thank you Tessa for the message and the food," Zach replied with a smile for her.

Tessa started to walk off but paused for a moment before she turned back around and said, "By the way if I were you I would come back again and talk with Alyssa some more. I can tell she really likes you cause she definitely looked very happy when she was talking about you before she left and I can tell you really like her."

Zach smiled as he continued to enjoy his wings before he couldn't help but ask, "How do you know that I like her?"

Tessa just smiled brightly back at him and said, "Well first of all you did seem genuinely concerned about her family emergency. Tessa said that she would try and cover my other tables and fortunately we are pretty slow right now," Alyssa said with a smile before she turned around and walked toward the kitchen. "Yes?" Alyssa asked him curious as to what he was going to ask.

"Would you like to go on a date with me?" Zach said very quickly so he could get all the words out before he could get nervous again.

"Yes absolutely I would love to go on a date with you Zach. Here's my number. Give me a call and we'll figure out a time when we can get together.
