Chapter 4
Deanna: Rodney and Lewis left me with Ted when they were through fucking me. They said a man should be with his wife at least one night a week and Sunday night was that night. I thought it was cruel to Ted since he was caged again, and it was especially cruel to me because I really didn't want to be alone with him. I had lost all respect for him as a husband and even as a man for what he let Lewis and now Rodney do to him and I told him so.
"I just didn't want to lose you," he said practically whimpering.
"Well, I think it's pretty obvious that you have lost me, except for one night a week and how long do you think that will last?"
"I guess I'll take what I can get."
"With that thing on your dick? Is that how you want to live?"
Ted looked down and I could see he was fighting off tears again. "What do you want me to say? I didn't ask for this, you did. If it were up to me we'd still be living the way we were a month ago and Lewis would be nothing but an employee to you."
I wanted to hit him, but I knew that would be too much, even for Ted. He just sat there staring at me, as if I had an answer to his problem. I didn't even have an answer to the first question that Rodney had asked me when we first met -- do you love your husband? I was pretty sure I did when he asked me, but with everything that had gone on the past month, I was now sure that I didn't. It took me all of a month to realize that of all the demands Lewis and Rodney were making of me, the one that was the least burdensome of all was that I never again allow Ted to fuck me.
"Why do you think they left you here?" Ted asked, almost reading my mind.
"I think for a couple of reasons," I said. "They want to remind me of the life I had in contrast to my life now. They want to force me to choose to go back every week, which only strengthens their hold on me."
"And they want to rub my nose in it, don't they?"
"I'm sure they do."
"They want me to ask you every week to stop seeing them and their clients."
"I'm sure they do."
"And they want you to say no to me, every week, right?"
"That's right," I said.
"And you will always say no to me, every week."
I didn't respond. I looked at him hard and long, searching for the man I'd fallen in love with, for the man who I'd married. I wondered if he was there, if he was ever there, or if I'd changed. I really didn't have a clue.
"Just say it," Ted said. "Will you stop fucking their clients?"
"No."
Lewis: I wasn't sure what was in store for me when I picked Deanna up for work the next day. I told her that I wanted to move things along with her new career at the end of the month, but we had a few things to do before we left the wonderful world of call-center customer service. She seemed much more open to the idea of a permanent change from one service industry to another than the first time I brought it up, but we'd left her in pretty rough shape after a tough weekend. Rodney said she was ours, no doubt in his mind, but I wasn't so sure. It had only been a month.
I leaned on the horn outside her apartment building just to piss off her neighbors. She came stumbling out the door within seconds and hurried to quiet the racket. I just smiled at her after she climbed in and closed the door.
"Last week working for the man," I said with a laugh. "Well, for me at least."
"Why are we even going in?" Deanna asked. "I'm sure they're going to let us go any day now."
"That's fine, I just need a day or two and then we are out of there."
Deanna chewed on that for a while. I knew she wanted to know what I had planned but she was too intimidated to ask. Her training was coming along way better than I ever expected. I'd taken to driving Deanna to work for a couple of weeks now and to let her get used to the idea I dropped her off at the door to the building while I parked in the lot next door. My thought was to ease her fear of being seen with me in public. I'd been fucking her in her office the whole time and I'm sure the rumors were running rampant throughout the building, but Deanna had herself convinced that no one suspected a thing. Today was the day I would disabuse her of that notion.
"We're walking in together today," I said matter-of-factly as I turned the car away from the building entrance and toward the lot. Deanna stayed quiet. "If we make it to lunch before getting canned, I'll take you and a couple of your girlfriends to wherever you like."
"Why don't we just quit?" she asked somewhat annoyed. "Why do you have to push it to the point that they fire us?"
"You'll see," I said. I parked as far away from the building as I could so everyone would see us walking in together. As we started crossing the lot, Deanna tried to ease away from me, as if I wouldn't notice. I closed the gap and wrapped my arm around her waist and cinched her tight to me. She tried to pull away so I grabbed her nipple and twisted it hard. She stopped fighting and whimpered a bit.
I was still holding Deanna close as we rode up in the elevator to our floor with a couple of people whose faces I vaguely recognized but couldn't place. They didn't say a word as they exited to the elevator a floor below ours but I caught them looking at each other with eyes the size of coasters and stifling a laugh as the doors closed. Deanna looked unhappy but at least she was quiet. I was tempted to twist her nipple again just for the fun of it but decided the day was going to be long enough without causing unnecessary pain. As the elevator doors opened on our floor I released my grip on her waist and called out to her as she hurried away from her.
"I'll be over in a few minutes," I said. She didn't acknowledge me at all but kept her head down and made a beeline to her office. I spent a few minutes at my desk cleaning up some personal items before I started over to join Deanna in her office when Erika stopped me.
"I heard a rumor that you and Deanna are an item," she said with a smirk. "What's a girl got to do to get noticed around here, get promoted to AVP?"
"Not at all," I said as I smiled back at her. "Why don't you come with me over to Deanna's office and I'll let you in on a little secret." I didn't wait for her response before continuing down the row of cubicles toward Manager's Row.
"What kind of secret?" she called out from behind me.
"The best kind," I said without turning back. I assumed with that kind of a teaser she would have to follow me and I was right. She caught up to me just as I knocked on Deanna's door.
"Deanna, Erika is going to join us this morning," I said as I held the door open for her. Deanna was sitting at her desk and she did not look pleased to see us. I motioned for Erika to sit in the chair across from Deanna's desk and when she did I closed the door and walked around to stand next to Deanna. I put my hand on her shoulder but faced Erika. "So why don't you tell us what you've heard Erika?"
Erika looked taken aback by my request. She looked back and forth between us seeking a clue as to what she should do or say. I kept my eyes on her and imagined that Deanna was doing the same.
"Oh, you know, nothing much really, just gossip," Erika managed to say. "I don't put much stock in that sort of thing."
"Deanna," I said as I looked down at her, "why don't you fill Erika in on what we've been doing together the past few days?" Deanna looked at me with shock and a little bit of anger. "Go on, she's a big girl. She can take the truth."
Deanna looked at me for several seconds. Then she turned to Erika.
"I'm a whore," Deanna said without emotion. "Lewis is my pimp. I fuck black men only, for money that I split with Lewis and his friend Rodney. I fucked six of Rodney's clients this weekend, and then I fucked Lewis and Rodney."
The look on Erika's face was priceless.
