The Bear's Favs - Second Edition

The BEAR'S Favorites- Second edition

These are the stories that I love, not like. I needed to keep a list and rank them. So here goes.

This is an addition. More stories.

1) Number one on my list, and it has been for a while,- "All My Fault", by 'Vulcez' 09/05/2012. I can't see anything, ever, beating it out. It fills all the slots, and I loved the ending. THAT'S true love. So I'm a softie. Sue me. The Bear's all-time, go-to favorite. Read it, and enjoy it, if you haven't already.

2) "NO", by 'jamesapple.'07/09/2021 Sweet, tender, I loved it. (My wife is rolling her eyes again.) I loved this story from the first time I read it. It's just not quite good enough to push my #1 out of the spot, but far and away the second best. It's a great story, I heartily recommend it. Again, this is one of the ones I read occasionally to pick my spirits up.

3) "Our Fortieth Anniversary", by Ibenton, 03/15/2024. This one was a tough call. Broke me up. It is # 3 because it can't be any lower, but I honestly couldn't make it any higher. I love it. True love as it should be, warts and all. Do you see a pattern?? I like BTB stories, both ways, but I also like happy endings. And realistic, real-life stories.

4) "Free", by jaymor79, Updated 06/09/2023. This 4 part story is fantastic. Long, but excellent. Human, realistic, heartwarming. But long. I wasn't sure when I started reading, but trust me. Stay with it, it is worth it.The Bear

5) "Preoccupied", by PAPAToad 06/11/2019. A cute, interesting little tale. Short, funny. I read it occasionally when I need a laugh. It seems the main character got smart quickly enough to get an annulment. It possibly could use a second part, but not necessarily.

6) "The Death of a Cuckold", by Azpiri, 07/03/2012. Sweet, tear-jerking, and I got to admit I almost didn't read it, or finish it, based on my likes. But SO glad I did. What a father does when the chips are down. My kind of story. It's why I sometimes (not always) read stories I normally don't. Again, enjoy, if you want.

7) "An Unexpected Reaction", by qhml1. 03/18/2014. One of my favorites for a long time. Long, but worth it. Good twist, even if the M/C doesn't drive a Ford product. I liked it.

8) "February Sucks My Way", by Omegaman56. 04/10/2021. One of the best, in my opinion, "February Sucks" stories. Sorry if it offends your sensibilities, but then, just about every 'Feb Sux' pisses off someone. Clear, concise, humorous, (Alright, so my sense of humor is a tad warped. Tough!) But it satisfies the basic points of Jim's problem.

9) "The End of Our World", by NoTalentHack 06/02/2024, a great story, though many critiqued it for misc. B/S. I liked it. A sort of George Anderson "February Sucks" story but with a happy ending for the M/C. Sci-fi was added, and it wasn't hard to see the twists coming, but well worth the read. A recent addition, it bumped some things down, but not out.

10) "Fallout 01: Wife's Office Party", by saddletramp1956. 01/19/2021. This is one of an 11-part series by the Man. I like all of saddletramp1956's stuff, but this one was special to me. Just why? Don't know. But I have read it several times, and it always leaves me with a good feeling. I recommend this one.

11) "She Stopped Speaking to Me" by dorbb2 01/14/2021 This one always irked me. It is an excellently written story, but no ending worth a dam, and no second part. And the author just disappeared. I have tried to contact him several times, but to no avail. He has not posted in several years. I have been tempted to write a sequel, but can't hash one out. Pisses me off.

12) "The Cost" by qhml1. 03/27/2012 This one is brutal. No happy ending. Kind of like a "February Sucks" story with bad things happening to both characters. Bad girl, sad guy. But well written, and I liked it. It will make you think.

13) "The Private Party" by Snake138. 07/04/2001 This one was tough to include. It disgusted me when I first read it, and I almost didn't. Then I re-read it about twelve times. I just can't stop. It is well-written, HOT, and extremely erotic. All the things I like, but don't normally lump in with swinging and sharing. You'll see if you read it.

14) "A Dead Man's Soliloquy" by TiberiusPrime!2/21/2024 Loved it. What more can I say? The M/C did a fine job, and I stand by my comment. I think this was a great story. Recommended.

15) "Wife Gets What She Wants" by carvohi 02/16/2014 This is a great story. The only thing that would have been better would be for Cable not to have been his son. THAT would have been priceless. I heartily recommend it.

16) "She Wasn't Mine Anymore" by delayedaction 12/05/2020

17) "The Brilliance At The End" by norafares 04/18/2023 This story is fantastic. I loved it. Very good, and as sad and heartwarming as can be. Made my day, so much so that it bumped a couple of other stpries down. Worth the time. Love your stoies, ma'am.

18) "The Club" by jamesapple. 03/22/2023 This is sarcasm to the nth degree. I loved it. Hysterical. If you need a good laugh, this will make your day. I heartily recommend it.

19) "Ragnarok" by Judogeezer 11/06/2024 This is undoubtedly one of the best Sci-Fi, Loving Wives short stories I have ever read. The ending was classic. The only drawback was that the M/C did not get the traditional happy ending. But payback? BTB?? You could not ask for better. Well done, sir.

20) "Not My Baby" by justplaincraig 12/123/2024 A late addition to the Bear's favs, this is honest, real, and true to life. Nothing sexually exciting here, though there is some sex, just real people experiencing life. And yes, the author admits his grammar could use a little work. So what? I've read worse. Hell, I've probably written worse. I like it. So sue me.

22) UPGRADE by Tomh1966 03/17/2025 An excellent story, with whimsy, humor, love, and an Irish twist. Leprechauns are cool, and the dig at Linda and Marc from "February Sucks" was classic.

23) "Fickle Fortune" by Griscom 02/04/2023 A recent addition. Harsh, brutal, loved it. And he didn't get his hands dirty. Not even illegal. Tacky, but hey, she cheated and traded up. Tough.

These are some of the Bear's favorites. I believe in sharing. I know they won't meet everyone's criteria, but I feel they are worth reading. None of these are mine. I'm not stupid. I tried posting this once before, but it was turned down. No reason. I didn't understand, as it was sent to Essays. Maybe it wasn't long enough. Oh, well.

And no, there are no links to any of the stories. If you would like to read them, simply go to the bottom of "Loving Wives", click on "Search", and you will be directed to a page where you can type in the title or the Author's name (both are included in the list I generated). Simple, huh? Sorry, but so am I.

Also, just as an aside, I am not in favor of the new bio-page setup. Not personal enough. Just my opinion, not that anyone will notice, care, or be able to do anything about it. Thanks for reading, if you did.

As an aside, as some of you may know, i lost my wife last month. Mrs. Bear was the love and light of my wife. We were married for almost 54 years. Not easy, but worth it. They say man plans and God laughs. How true. This is not what I wanted in my ' Golden Years', but again, nobody asked me. I'll make it. This return to writing is a big first step. Thanks for Bearing with me.(Snicker)
