Asher's been through a lot recently, both physically and emotionally. It's no surprise that there's some confusing backlash. It was only a matter of time. But will it take a village to get her sorted?
Enjoy!

Chapter 24
ASHER
Shae and I had been in her room, locked in blend, for two days. Supposedly, James checked on us, making sure we were still breathing and all that, but left us alone.
Poor Remmi. She basically freaked out. The others explained what was going on, and Rhi kept her busy with training and... other things until Shae and I finally returned from wherever we'd gone. Then Remmi ripped into me for scaring her.
I tried to explain that I didn't know I was going to be out for two days, but she wasn't having any of it. It took a lot of groveling from me and admitting how much of a moron I was before she'd talk to me again.
Shae seemed OK, albeit strangely quiet. I thought she might have seen some things in me that she wasn't expecting. Maybe something she didn't like? I fretted over it until she finally started talking to me a day later.
Shae said the two days thing had scared her. It wasn't supposed to work like that. The only time it ever lasted longer than a few hours was when the person who'd done this to them initially blended them and kicked the whole gestalt thing off.
Aside from the weirdness of it, I felt amazing! I'd say it was the best sex of my life, but I don't really think it counted as sex.
Regardless, Shae and I weren't about to try that again. We both agreed we shouldn't play with stuff we didn't fully understand. The little bits of mind-swapping could be fun in bed, but not this. This really was scary. Fantastic, but scary.
Things seemed different now, but I couldn't put my finger on why.
We went back to our training routine. We focused on training hard as we only had a few days before we were due back home.
Home.
Was The Roadhouse really home for me anymore? Was this place my home now? Or was it with these people? With her?
I trained harder than I had before, trying to wear myself out so I would stop thinking for a while. I was confused in all new ways and didn't understand why or what I was confused about.
I stopped joining in the bed-hopping fun, which was the last straw for Remmi.
Remmi had been watching me. She knew something had happened during that blend that had changed me. But she'd been hoping I'd get past it. When I didn't, she confronted me. When that didn't work, she brought in the big guns.
It was the night before we were to leave, and I was packing the final few things when Remmi came in with Shae in tow.
"Hey," I said, barely looking up to acknowledge them.
The next thing I knew, Remmi tossed me over her shoulder and onto the bed, using a move Rhi had taught her.
"Remmi!" Shae chided.
"No," Remmi said. "We're out of time, and this needs to end now!" Remmi's anger was hot as she looked at Shae. "You broke her. Now you fix her!"
"Remmi, please," Shae said. "I said I'd--"
"I don't care if she's in love with you now and not me," Remmi spat. "I just want my sister back to normal! You do that, and I'll gladly bow out!"
"Remmi, I--" I started.
"And you!" Remmi turned her vehemence on me. "You're not a goddammed zombie! Make a fucking choice and move on already!"
"Rem--" I tried as I righted myself on the bed. But it was too late. She was already out the door, slamming it behind her.
"Don't," Shae said as I started for the door. "She orchestrated that whole little show for you." Shae sighed.
"What?" I asked.
"It was the only way she could think of to force the issue," Shae said. "Rhi's been keeping me informed all week. Your sister really does love you, you know."
"I know," I said and sat back down on the bed. "I love her to pieces... I just don't know what's wrong with me." I rubbed my face with my hands. "I know it's not just because I lov--" I caught myself and glanced at Shae. "Because I like you so much. I've explored that, and it's not what's wrong."
"Then, what is wrong, Asher?" Shae asked.
"I don't know!" I growled in frustration.
"That's what I'm here for," Shae said, taking off her earring.
"What are you doing?" I asked nervously and scooched away from her on the bed.
"That," Shae said, pointing at the new space between us. "That is what we're going to figure out."
"I'm not doing that again," I said as I broke out in a cold sweat.
"Neither am I," Shae agreed. "We're going to take a look in your head and figure out what's wrong."
There was a knock on the door.
"Come in," Shae said without looking at the door.
Rhi and Remmi entered the room and closed the door.
"I don't understand," I said.
"Rhiannon is a psychiatrist," Shae reached over, took Rhi's hand, and squeezed it as she looked up at the tall woman. "She's fixed us more times than I can count."
"Even when you went too far, I brought you back," Rhi smiled down at Shae.
I watched the two women staring at one another and wondered exactly what they were talking about.
"The four of us are going into rapport together," Shae said.
"Rapport?" I asked.
"We're going to bloodtouch and try to figure out what's going on with you," Rhi said.
"All four of us? Together?" I said, suddenly apprehensive, and I didn't understand why.
"That, right there," Shae said and pointed at me. "Whatever that was is what we need to figure out."
"But, I'm not..." I trailed off, ending in a sigh. I knew something was wrong, but I was still trying to deny it. Whatever it was, was twisting up my insides. "Fine," I said and held out my hand.
"Is it weird that I think the blood thing is kind of hot?" Remmi said.
"No, that's the whole point of the vampire concept," Rhi said. "They're supposed to represent deviant sexualized creatures that feed on life itself. It's pretty fucked up, but it funnels into some of the forbidden parts of our psyche."
"What?" Remmi said.
"Vampires are supposed to be hot," Shae summarized.
"That's what I said," Rhi said, as everyone was now sitting there with bloody fingers. "OK, folks, let's hook up."
We each touched our fingers to the person beside us, closing a loop between the four of us.
I looked around nervously at each of them.
"When's it going to start?" I asked.
"We're already there," Rhi said softly.
"No, we're not," I said. "We're still sitting here--"
*We're already there,* Rhi said in my head. *You don't have to create some special otherworldly space to represent the link.*
*Oh,* I said.
*Don't sound so disappointed,* Shae said. *You can still do it yourself if you'd like. All you have to do is imagine it.*
*Actually,* I said, looking around at the women sitting with me. *I prefer it this way for this.*
*Good,* Rhi said. *Let's keep this simple. Welcome to evil truth or dare.*
I could feel Rhi making the joke about Remmi's evil Uno. I felt Remmi get it and chuckle. Meanwhile, Shae was groaning inside as she'd been through this with Rhi once before, and... they... I had to reach for the memory, but just as I was about to grab it...
*Can we stay on topic, please?* Rhi said to me.
I instantly snapped my mental hand back from Shae's mind like I'd been caught with my hand in the cookie jar.
*And that's just what happened,* Rhi said. *Right now, each of you can reach into anyone else's mind and find out exactly what you want. They can't stop you, but they will know exactly what you're doing. So, focus on the here and now; don't let your mind wander, or else you may go down a rabbit hole and discover something you don't want to know.*
I tried to keep my mind neutral but didn't know how.
*Let's start with some basics and get the biggies out there right now,* Rhi said. *I'm going to ask you questions. You don't have to answer because we'll automatically know the truth. That's just how your brain works. Try not to feel embarrassed. Everything in here is natural, and you can't help who you are, so don't try.*
*Remember, we're here to try and understand what's happened to Asher,* Rhi said. *We're going to stray off-topic; that's a given. But sometimes, straying a bit will help. Straying too much won't.*
*Asher,* Rhi began.
*Yeah?* I said and mentally gulped.
*What color are your eyes?* Rhi asked.
*What?* I said, surprised by the question. But at the same time, I felt myself respond with *Blue.*
*OK, that's trippy,* Remmi said.
*OK, I'm going to ask you the same question, Asher, and this time I want you to lie,* Rhi said.
*Lie? About my eye color?* I asked.
*Yes,* Rhi said.
*What color should I say then?* I asked, my nervousness projecting through my thoughts.
*Whatever you'd like, it doesn't matter,* Rhi said. *Asher, what color are your eyes?*
I automatically wanted to say blue but forced myself to say, *Purple.* But I still felt it when my body responded with, *Blue.* I knew I'd lied, and they knew it too.
*Good,* Rhi said. *Does everyone understand how it works now?* Rhi looked at each of us. *OK,* Rhi turned her attention back to me. *Asher, what happened during the blend with Shae?*
I held my breath. I wasn't sure what to say and was hoping my body would tell me. It didn't seem as if it was going to say anything, but then it finally did.
*I got scared,* my body said.
I somehow looked at myself in shock.
*What scared you?* Rhi asked.
I searched myself, trying to find the real answer so I could say it. But every time I looked, a jumble of confusion blocked me.
*My feelings,* my body said.
*Tell me about it,* Rhi said.
*I was comfortable,* my body said. *Too comfortable. I liked where I was and what I was, and it was too easy.*
The more my body talked, the more it began to transition to me talking. It was as if the more my body talked, the more I remembered and understood until it was only my words coming out.
*What's wrong with easy?* Rhi asked.
*Nothing is ever easy,* I said. *If something is easy, then it's wrong.*
*What was easy?* Rhi asked.
*Being with her, with Shae,* I said.
*Why did it feel easy with Shae?* Rhi asked.
*Because I love her, and she loves me,* I said.
*Is that true, Shae? Do you love Asher?* Rhi asked.
*Yes,* was all Shae said.
*And what's wrong with that?* Rhi asked me.
*I love Remmi,* I said. *It's not easy with Remmi, but I know she loves me too.*
*What about you, Remmi? Do you love Asher?* Rhi asked.
*Yes!* Remmi answered excitedly. *And yeah, it's hard sometimes, but that doesn't change the way I feel about her.*
*Does Asher loving Shae change how you feel about her?* Rhi asked.
*No and yes.* Remmi said.
*Sorry, that's my bad,* Rhi said. *I didn't specify. Does Asher loving Shae change how you feel about Asher?*
*What? No!* Remmi said.
*Does it change how you feel about Shae?* Rhi asked.
*Not really,* Remmi said. *I mean, she's hot and everything, but I'm not in love with her.*
*OK--* Rhi started but was interrupted.
*I'm in love with you,* Remmi said as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.
Rhi's mental pause almost made me laugh, almost.
*Good to know,* Rhi said. *But, let's stay on topic. Asher--*
*Do you love me?* Remmi said in a rush.
*I may not be in love with you,* Rhi said carefully. *But I love spending time with you.* Everything she said was truth.
*I can work with that,* Remmi said happily.
*OK, now that that's settled,* Rhi tried again. *Asher--*
*Do you think Tara feels the same way?* Remmi asked in the same cheerful voice.
*I don't know,* Rhi started to answer automatically in a frustrated tone, but her body's answer, for the first time, was different.
*Tara's in lust with you,* Rhi's body said.
*Oh! That sounds like fun!* Remmi said and launched right into another question about Rhi and Tara.
*You two can leave now,* A new fifth voice that I'd never heard before said from the vicinity of Rhi. *These two are going to be jousting for a while.*
*Who are you?* I asked.
*This is the voice in Rhi's head,* Shae said simply. *How have you been?*
*Oh, good. Watching all this crap over the last few months has been fun,* the voice said. *But it was getting a bit dull until Asher here showed up. The fresh hormones you and your sister brought Rhi was like having your nose all stopped up and taking a hit from a Vic's stick. Wow! Opens you right up, you know?*
*You scare me,* my body said without my consent.
*That's alright, I'm supposed to,* the voice said. *I'm Rhi's crazy. We haven't really been properly introduced.*
*Hi,* I managed weakly, and the voice laughed.
*You said we're good?* Shae asked.
*Oh sure,* the voice said and "looked" at me. *Aren't you?*
I thought about it, but my body answered for me, *Yes.*
The voice sighed. *The most wonderful thing you can do is to love someone. It's a shame how it can twist us up sometimes. Now go away. I'm missing the good stuff with these two.*
The last thing I heard before Shae and I broke from the group was Remmi starting to say, *But wait, when the three of us get married--*
Then I was staring at Shae and blinking quickly.
*How do you feel?* Shae asked, still in my head.
I took a moment to search myself before answering.
*Better,* I said, and I did. It felt like that confusing knot in my head was gone. *But how are you still in my head?*
*It hangs on for a bit, but it will be gone soon,* Shae said.
*Oh yeah. Sorry, I forgot,* I said.
*So, you fell in love with me,* Shae said, humor lacing her voice.
*And you fell in love with me,* I said, nodding slowly. *So, what does this mean for us?* I glanced at Remmi, who was staring at Rhi and vice versa. I could feel their conversation still raging in my head, but it was fading quickly.
*It means we go on with our lives knowing we have someone out there who loves us,* Shae said.
*It sounds like you've dealt with this before,* I said.
"Something like that," Shae said as the link faded.
I glanced at Remmi again. Something inside was eating at me. Then Shae touched my hand, drawing my attention.
"A wise... guy, once told me that just because you love someone, it doesn't mean you have to spend the rest of your life with them," Shae said.
"A wise guy, huh?" I said skeptically.
"He has his moments," Shae said and glanced at Remmi before turning back to me.
"You know I can share, and I'm not going anywhere," Shae said, smiling softly.
I must have been feeling better because I was suddenly tearing her clothes off and kissing her madly. My fingers were on her warm, soft flesh, touching her as I finally freed her from her clothes.
Faster than I could track, she had me out of my clothes as well.
There was no foreplay, no teasing lead-up. I simply plunged my cock into her depths as we joined our bodies. We didn't try to merge minds, or blend, or anything like that.
Instead, we made love at a frantic pace. It felt like we were trying to get somewhere together, and we had to get there quickly, or we'd miss it.
We ignored Rhi and Remmi, who were still locked together at the mind, beside us. The only consideration we gave them was trying not to bump into them as we ravished one another.
Way too soon, I was thrusting into Shae's welcoming pussy as my cum began to escape into her. I loved the feeling of cumming inside her and her willingness to accept me.
"Love you," Shae said aloud for the first time.
"Love you too," I replied, falling back on her lips.
