In this chapter, Rooster finds out that Bobbi's parents had previously hired Sonia (Star) before meeting them at supper. In addition to the parents, Sonia had been with Bobbi's brother and future brother-in-law. Rooster tells Bobbi's parents that she'll be loved and cherished in his home, as will their grandchildren. This chapter is light on descriptive sex, but does contain some. My thanks to JohnnyGalt for his editorial assistance. I Want Her to Know What Love Is, Ch 16
Meeting Bobbi's Parents
The first thing I did Monday, after my exercise routine, was to call Bruce and let him know that Bobbi wasn't going to start dating anytime soon.
"She decided it's still too early?" Bruce asked.
"Something a little stranger than that, I'm afraid. I hope you don't hate me for this, but you know I've been helping her out with some things and she's one of the bridesmaids for the wedding, right?"
"What kind of things have you helped her with?"
"I gave her ten thousand so she could give her kids a merrier Christmas than expected, fixed a few things in her apartment and arranged for a cleaning service to give it a once over deep clean, took her and her daughter to an amusement park with Sonia and Tommy, that sort of thing."
"Don't tell me, she fell for you?"
"I don't know if it extends that far, but Sonia has always had a bisexual bent, and before Bobbi started dating again, she thought she could maybe see what it was like having sex after over a year without, and we spent this last weekend together, which was supposed to be the last time we engaged in sex with her, but Sonia wanted to invite her and her kids to live with us. We asked and although it hasn't been decided yet, she's thinking about it."
"Fucking A, Robert! You're taking two of the hottest women in Minneapolis off the market at once?"
"Maybe. It's not set in concrete yet, but it's leaning that way. Her daughter has been missing her Dad so much and I've tried to be there for them, and the kids get along together, so maybe."
"And your fiancée is good with this?"
"It was her idea."
"You lucky dog!"
"I know. Believe me, I know."
"Well, if it doesn't work out, let me know."
"Of course."
I heard him muttering to himself as he hung up.
I was going to spend the weekend at Sonia's while Ann and Benson spent the weekend alone here, and needed some good clothes along with the usual for taking Bobbi's parents to dinner after the football game. I'd need a nice suit as well as a couple other changes of clothes. I set aside what I'd need for the weekend. I called Bobbi at work to see where her parents resided so I could pick out a nearby restaurant.
"Do you have enough privacy to talk?"
"Sure, just let me close the door."
I waited for her to shut her door, then pick up her phone again.
"Where do your parents live? I was wondering if I should make a reservation in their neighborhood, or if we could pick them up?"
"They live near Powderhorn Lake Park," Bobbi said. "Not too far away from the playground. Mom likes to take Jeremy there when the weather is nice."
"Where's your Dad's business?"
"On Lake Street. It's Lake Street Plumbing, near I-35."
I did not like hearing that. If he worked on Lake Street and lived in Powderhorn Park, he would have gone past Sonia's street corner on a regular basis.
"Does your Dad have a restaurant he likes?"
"Manny's. He goes there every time he wants to celebrate something."
"I'll make reservations at Manny's for seven-thirty for five in one of the private rooms, in case there's fireworks."
"Great. Dad will love it. You don't have to pick them up. They could meet us there."
"You know that Sonia used to work on Lake Street, right?"
"I didn't know where, but yeah."
"Do you think your Dad would recognize her?"
"I don't know."
"Do me a favor and when you get home tonight, show Sonia a picture of your Dad."
"Are you thinking Dad might have hired her?"
"Don't know. Maybe he would just recognize her from her street corner. Her street corner was between your Dad's business and Powderhorn, and she would have been on the right side, or closest to your dad's car as he navigated home each night."
"If she does recognize him, would it mean he fucked her?"
"Probably. I wouldn't think she'd remember anyone who only chatted her up."
"And if she doesn't recognize him, he might still recognize her?"
"That's my worry. I think you've accepted her prior history rather well, better than I might have expected once you found out. But if we're looking for your parent's blessing for this, my guess is, if they know she was a hooker, it could be a non-starter, unless you tell them to piss off - you're a grown-up who gets to decide her own life."
"I doubt I can do that. They've been my lifeline. I'd be a mess without them."
"Understood. I wouldn't expect you to."
"So if Dad knows who she is, we don't say anything?"
"I would lean that way. He might still have questions, like why are you a bridesmaid for a whore, but I hope it doesn't rise to that level."
"I hope he doesn't. I want this so much, Rooster. I know Belinda wants this. I haven't told her yet, but she's so excited to be going to the Vikes game with you on Sunday. She's dreamy eyed."
"Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Nothing has happened yet, so we just wait and see."
"Okay. I'm keeping my fingers crossed."
I went ahead and made the reservations.
Apparently, Bobbi got home around six that night, because shortly after she did, I got a call from Sonia.
"We've got a problem, Rooster," Sonia said.
"You recognized her father?" I guessed.
"And her mother. They were one of the couples that hired my services. I've been to their house, spent the night there."
"Did you tell Bobbi that?"
"No."
"Why not?"
"So she knows her whole family slept with the same whore?"
"Bobbi never slept with the whore. She slept with my fiancée. You're not that person anymore. Quit thinking of yourself that way. Besides, it might help our cause."
"What cause?"
"Her family agreeing that Bobbi can move in. At least we know they have a kink side. Did they say why they hired you?"
"They wanted to try a threesome."
"And you spent the night there, the whole night?"
"Yeah, from around seven to eight the next morning, when Mr. Reeves brought me back to my street corner."
"Did they enjoy it?"
"They seemed to. They spent enough money on me. One thousand per person for the whole night."
"So, they can understand why someone might want to be with the same gender, and might enjoy being with a another couple for sex. Where are you now?"
"Standing outside of Bobbi's apartment freezing my ass off. I didn't even wear a coat over when she asked me up."
"Go back inside, put me on speaker and let's talk about this a little calmly, okay."
"Okay."
It took a couple minutes before I heard Sonia say I was on speaker with her and Bobbi in Bobbi's bedroom so the kids couldn't hear the conversation.
"Did Sonia tell you yet why we're on this phone call?"
"No. I just gave the kids a snack to hold them over until supper. What's going on?"
"Sonia recognized your father, and your mother. She didn't want to say anything in front of the kids, but she's spent the night at their home."
"Both of them? You fucked both my parents?" Bobbi asked.
"Yes." Sonia's voice sounded tiny.
"How much did they pay for you?"
"Two thousand for the night."
"Oh, fuck! I think I'm going to faint."
"Sit down on the bed. Better yet, lie down on the bed," I said. "This is not as bad as it might sound."
I heard the bed springs. Then Bobbi asked. "How is it not bad that my parents have had sex with the same person as me?"
"So what?" I asked.
"What do you mean, so what?"
"So what if you've all had sex with the same person? You and I have had sex with the same person. You and Sonia had sex with the same person. Sonia and I had sex with the same person. Are we bad people? Have we violated any laws? Have we hurt each other in any way? How is that much different from a man divorcing one sister and marrying another, so both sisters ended up having sex with the same man. Shit happens, so what? Does it sound like it hurt your parents. They didn't even cheat on each other. They did it together. Does it seem like their marriage is in trouble?"
"No. I would have thought they had one of the best marriages in the Twin Cities."
"They probably do, if this is something they did together. Look at the bright side. How much of a stink can they raise if you want to do something they've tried at least once and seemed to enjoy? Your mom wanted to see if she would enjoy a woman if she hadn't tried one out already. They both wanted to have a threesome, if they hadn't already. They were willing to pay a pretty penny for it, so it meant that much to them. I say it only becomes weird if you all kept having sex with the same person, and that's not going to happen. I like the chemistry of what we have now. As far as I'm concerned, we've got the perfect threesome. If it doesn't work, I'll be back to a perfect couple. Sonia is out of the business. She would never be having sex with them again. I just don't see it as a problem."
Silence on the other end. I didn't try to fill it with more chatter.
Finally, Bobbi asked Sonia. "How long ago did this happen?"
"A couple of years ago."
"At least it wasn't a couple of months ago."
More silence.
"It's going to be weird when we see them for supper, but maybe it's not as bad as I thought," Bobbi said. "Hell, it's going to be weird when I drop Jeremy off and see Dad at work tomorrow, but should I say something to them?"
"Now that you know, I think you should, not just drop a bomb on them at Manny's," I said.
"What do I say?"
"I don't know. Depends on your parents, I guess, and I don't know them. I'm thinking something like you'd like to move in with another couple, the ones we're going to supper with on Sunday night, and they might know one of them, but I'm just guessing. If they ask who, say one of them used to be a hooker on Lake Street. Let them explain if they want. Make clear to them that no matter what happens, Belinda, Jeremy and Tommy never find out. It's nobody's business anymore but ours."
"Okay, I guess. That is going to be one weird ass conversation to have with my parents."
"Probably just as strange for them, having to admit to their daughter they hired a hooker for some kinky sex. Sonia, have you got anything to add?"
"Only that I'm the only one who will have had sex with the entire table when we go to Manny's. It's probably the freakiest for me."
"Did my mom lick your pussy?" Bobbi asked.
"She did most things two girls could do. I usually carried an assortment of toys with me. She tried some of them, both giving and receiving. The only thing she didn't try was anal sex, but your dad did that."
"Oh, the things I'm learning about my parents," Bobbi said.
"Remember, Belinda and Jeremy are going to learn the same things about you, and probably at a much younger age. If we don't make a big deal about it, they'll accept it as more normal than you do now."
"When do we say something to them?" Bobbi asked. "I've been dying to say something to Belinda."
"When we definitely know it's going to happen," I said. "Anything before that is premature. Are we all good now?"
"As good as it's going to get until this is all over with," Bobbi said.
"I'll talk to everyone later," I said. "Don't sweat the small stuff."
"Bye, Rooster," they both said and Sonia hung up.
So, I was going to meet two more people who'd had intimate relations with my future wife. Life was sure getting interesting, but at this point, another couple didn't make any difference to me. It's like I told Bobbi, so what. I knew what I was getting into.
******
It was kind of a slow week for me. Enough so that I could get all of the wedding invitations mailed. Maya was up north with Alex, and I didn't hear a peep from her. Sonia only came over on Wednesday, showing up for our run on a crisp, cool day, then spending time in the gym, the pool and my bed, leaving to get home before Tommy got back from school. Because of Benson's presence in the afternoon, we couldn't spend the whole day naked, but with his dance classes in the morning, we had least had that.
Sonia and I told him that we wanted Bobbi and her children to move in with us when Sonia did, but that still hadn't been firmed up yet.
"Really?" Benson asked.
"It's why we wanted the weekend with you out of the house," I said. "It was supposed to be a one time thing for Bobbi to see how she'd feel about sex and dating again, but Sonia liked having her around so much, she asked if we could make it permanent. Bobbi has got concerns about her parents reactions, but other than that, she's game. If it's going to happen, we'd like it to happen all at the same time, so I only need one moving truck, so circle Thanksgiving weekend as the big moving day."
"Do you need the other bedroom back?"
"She'll be in our bedroom, Benson," Sonia said. "We're about to become a fully polyamorous threesome if it works out. Rooster would even adopt her kids like he's going to adopt Tommy."
"And you don't mind, Miss?"
"It was my suggestion, Benson," Sonia said. "I like girls, Bobbi's discovered she likes girls in addition to men, and Rooster loves multiple hens in the henhouse. Tommy and Belinda get along great and Belinda misses having a Dad so much. We think it's got a real chance to be a very positive thing for all of us."
"Do you love her?" Benson asked me.
"I don't love her the same as I love Sonia. I don't know if that's possible, but I care for her, admire her, trust her, and like her children. I don't see any of us having jealousy issues. We communicate well, enjoy each other's company even outside of the bedroom. She's good people, and I don't know if you can ever have too much of good people."
"It's going to be so strange going from a nearly empty house to one with five adults and three children in it," Benson said.
"Hasn't it felt like family though, when we've all been together?" Sonia asked.
"It has, Miss. This house has seemed more like a home ever since you entered it."
"If you're going to be my father-in-law, you have to stop calling me Miss, Benson. You need to stop calling Rooster sir, for that matter. If we're a family, we're a family."
"He still pays my salary."
"When he paid me for a month of sexual services, I didn't call him sir, although I do like to call him Daddy on occasion, when I'm feeling naughty and need a spanking." She batted her eyelashes.
Benson and I laughed, while Sonia grinned.
"After the football game Sunday, we'll need Mom home to look after all three kids while we go out to dinner with Bobbi's parents," Sonia said. "We hope they don't raise a fuss about their daughter living with an ex-whore and her honey, which got a little more complicated when we discovered her parents were a couple of my prior clients."
"Both of them?"
"What can I say, I was a full service whore."
"How long ago?"
"A couple years ago."
"That should be interesting."
"And a little scary," Sonia admitted. "I don't know if I've ever been with an entire family of adults I've had sex with before. I think I'll dress more conservatively than I usually do when going out with Rooster. I don't want to look like a street walker when I see them again."
"I'll have to hear how that conversation goes."
"Sure thing, dad," Sonia said. "I'll tell you how my date went. Don't give me too many details about how yours with Mom goes this weekend though, okay?"
"I'll only say if it was good or bad. How's that?"
"Perfect."
******
I didn't hear back from Bobbi about her parents, so she either hadn't spoken to them yet, still figuring out what to say and how to say it, or keeping it to herself. I suspected the former.
I told Benson I was leaving early on Friday to spend the day with Sonia and he should pick up Ann at the same time, take her to his dance lesson so they could get some practice in together and start the weekend off early. That sounded good to him, so he left when I did at eight. It was a rainy day, so I did my running in the gym, but I was ready to go in plenty of time with all of my stuff packed.
When I got to Sonia's, as soon as Ann was gone, we made a beeline to the bedroom. After some marvelous sex, we were relaxing in bed, just kissing and enjoying our time together.
"What do you think about inviting Bobbi and her kids for pizza and a movie tonight," I said.
"Sounds nice," Sonia said. "The only thing that would make it better would be sex afterwards, but I don't suppose that's possible."
"I don't think so. Has she said anything about her parents yet?"
"Not to me. Has she to you?"
"Nope. I haven't heard from her since the Monday phone call."
"Maybe we'll find out tonight," Sonia said. "I'll text her, tell her to pick out a movie she thinks her kids will enjoy, and we won't mind."
Sonia sent off a quick text, and got a quick answer.
"Yes to pizza and movie, and she asked about a Christmas movie like 'It's a Wonderful Life' or 'Christmas Story'?
"That's fine. I like the teachable moments of something like 'Wonderful Life' how everything connects together and how the good you do can come back to you in the future."
"Of course, you'd think of the teachable moments."
"Hey, if I'm going to be a Dad three or more times over, I've got to get my shit together."
Sonia laughed and texted back my choice of movie and why, getting a smiley face back.
"I love you so much, Rooster. My life was shit, and I was dreading the future. I hated waking up every day, knowing I was going to be spending another evening on my street corner waiting to have meaningless, demeaning sex with mostly strangers. Then you came along and my life is perfect. I finally have hopes and dreams again. Please tell me it's never going to change."
"It's never going to change. You're not having a dream, or it's one I'm having too. This is your new life."
She stretched her face up for a kiss, which rapidly turned to something more, something steamier, and hotter, like wildfire, spreading. I turned her over and entered her, sinking into her depths, her arms and legs nearly crushing me as she held me close as I glided in and out of her soupy, sperm filled pussy, both crying out as we crested together.
"If I didn't know it was too early, I would think we just made a baby," Sonia said, panting post coitus. "That was amazing. If sex can be an expression of love, that was it."
I laughed and got up, needing both a shower, and food, Sonia joining me in the shower and helping me make the food, just soup and a salad.
"Have you made honeymoon reservations yet, Rooster?"
"Not yet."
"When you do, make them for three."
"Bobbi?"
"Yeah. If we're going to do this, let's blow the doors off."
"What if we try it and it doesn't work?"
"Do you really foresee that happening?"
"If I did, I wouldn't be starting."
"I don't see it failing either, so go all out. Make both of us your bitches and look forward to the best wedding night ever."
"Are you being naughty again?"
"Not yet. You'll know naughty when you see it."
I laughed. "Every time I look at you, I see naughty."
"Naughtier then," she laughed. "Spank worthy."
"Hell, just your butt is spank worthy. Every time I see it, I want to lay hands on it."
"You perv."
"Guilty as charged. I'm marrying a hooker and entering into a permanent threesome with another woman besides."
"Sounds exciting, doesn't it."
I pointed to my dick. "The proof is right here."
"Bedroom?"
"No, I think I'll let this one die a natural death. Aren't you trying to keep me from fucking myself to death before I'm thirty."
"I might have to rethink that. God knows I want to jump your bones constantly."
"Is there any stuff we need to do to put this place into shape before you move?"
"Probably, but why don't you pull a Rooster and have a cleaning crew come in and do the whole damn thing at once. Let's look at honeymoon locations. I'm thinking someplace where nudity is tolerated or even encouraged, and open signs of affection between boys and girls and girls and girls, won't get you arrested."
"We might need to add that to my vacation app."
"I think so. Makes perfect sense to me."
I laughed.
******
Tommy and Belinda got off the bus a little before four, and I was there to meet it.
"Hey, Dad," Tommy said. "You're earlier than I expected."
"How about that. I want both of you to get right on any homework you have. We're going to be having pizza and movie night tonight. I'd like to see if we can scrounge up an impromptu football game with the other kids tomorrow, and the Vikings game on Sunday, so we don't want that homework hanging over your heads. You too, Belinda. I'm going to be here all weekend so no dilly-dallying when we can spend the rest of the weekend having fun."
"Sure Rooster, sounds great."
"How are those negative numbers coming?"
"Better than they were, thanks to you."
Belinda had to change clothes first, but Tommy went with her and they hurried back.
I shepherded them through their homework while Sonia did some light housework, and they were mostly done with it when Bobbi got back from work after picking up Jeremy. She too wanted to change and shower before settling in, so we looked after Jeremy while she took care of business. When she got back in her jeans and a light sweater, she gave me and Sonia a hug.
As she hugged me, she whispered. "I want to tell the kids tonight. I don't think I much care what my parents say. I want to do this."
"That's fine, but we need to talk."
"You don't want me to tell them?"
"No, I just want to know what's happened and what you're thinking. I'm ready to tell them now. You kick things off whenever you're ready."
She whispered something to Sonia during her hug, too, which I suspected was the same thing, as Sonia nodded and smiled.
We ordered the pizza and I got the movie ready to play.
"Tommy and Belinda, we're going to watch a Christmas classic tonight, called 'It's a Wonderful Life'. It's possible you've seen it before because TV stations like to show it every year about this time of year, but tonight, I want you to pay close attention to something.
"The movie attempts to depict what might have happened differently if someone had never been born. All through his life, the character played by Jimmy Stewart did things that had an impact on not only him, but his whole community, and everyone's life would have been vastly different if he hadn't been there. I want you to think about that, how we're all interconnected, and how you can make good things happen, and bad things happen with your presence.
"Belinda, do you remember the first thing I asked all of you kids when I met you the first time with Tommy?"
"Something about if we were friends with Tommy?"
"Right, and if you made fun of each other. If you guys hadn't been friends with Tommy, or made fun of him, you wouldn't be sitting here about to eat pizza and watching a movie. We wouldn't be going to a football game on Sunday. I was looking out for my new son, and I wanted to know who his friends were. If those things were different, I'd never have known about you, or given you a business card asking your Mom to call me. No boat ride, no Valley Fair, no Halloween party. None of that would have happened, because I was made fun of when I was a kid, and I didn't want that happening to Tommy, so you being a friend, someone he wanted to be around, worked out for all of us.
"Your mom called me, and I found out more about you and your family, and we became friends, and Bobbi agreed to be Sonia's bridesmaid. All of those things off the answer to one tiny question. Everything we do in life, has consequences, not just to ourselves, but to others. Do you stand up for the right things, help the helpless, feed the hungry, do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Even though bad things happen to Jimmy Stewart in the movie, like losing his hearing, or being unable to go to college and be an engineer, all of the good things he did before that moment, came back to help him when he needed it. I think that's a real good lesson for anyone. So when you watch it today, pay attention to who he helps, and how they help him when he needs it. Would you do that for me?"
"Sure."
"Good. Do you want to start the movie now, or wait until the pizza gets here?"
"Start the movie now," Tommy said. "I want to figure out how it all works out."
"Good lad. Have a seat and we'll pause when the pizza gets here."
I started the movie and got the two ladies to sit beside me on the couch. Sonia gave me a smooch on the cheek and whispered, "You're such a good man."
Bobbi didn't give me a smooch yet, but she squeezed my hand when she sat down. Both of them leaned their head on my shoulder. We paused the movie right before Jimmy Stewart was going to jump off the bridge. I got up and took care of dishing everyone up slices and getting napkins for everyone. I left the boxes close for refills. I also got some milk for the kids and water for the adults.
When everyone was settled, we started up again just when the angel, Clarence, makes his appearance. Tommy and Belinda did seem to be paying a lot of attention to the movie, trying to follow along with everything happening. Seemed to be doing a pretty good job of it too.
We got to the end and Belinda said, "All those people he helped along the way came to give him their money."
"It wasn't just the money though. He saved his brother from drowning, falling through the ice. His brother later becomes a hero and saves a bunch of other men, while the loss of his hearing kept him from the military. His brother goes off to war, so he can't go to college, having to stay and take care of his mother, but because he stays he meets the woman he loves and has a family. Also, because he stays, he works for the Savings and Loan, and he helps the smaller, less fortunate people with their monetary needs, keeping the rich banker from taking over the town. One little thing, followed by another, followed by another, until it's one big thing. The town would have been completely different without George, small businesses gone under, people thrown out of their homes, He kept that town alive, and they knew it."
"Rich in friends, if not in money," Bobbi said.
"That's right. Rich in friends."
'I have something very important to ask you, Belinda..." Bobbi started.
"Hold on, just a second," I said. "Give me a minute to clean up and put my arm around my new son."
"Okay," Bobbi said.
I got up and put a few slices of pizza away, the milk, the plates and silverware (the ladies used silverware, no one else did.) Jeremy was sleeping on his mom's lap.
I sat down and put my arms around Tommy. "I'm good. Go ahead."
"Belinda, how would you like a father?" Bobbi asked.
"Who?"
"Well, who would you like as a father?"
"I wish I could have Rooster," Belinda said, "but he's going to be Tommy's dad."
"What if he could be your father too?"
"How can he be my father too?" Belinda asked. She was already starting to get excited. You could see it on her face, but confused as well.
"Aren't you going to marry Mom?" Tommy asked, also confused.
"Let her finish, son. I'm still marrying your mother," I assured him. "Why do you think I'm holding you now. I want you to know I'm not letting you go."
"Last weekend, Sonia and Rooster asked me if I wanted to come and live with them with my kids. I couldn't marry Rooster, because the law doesn't allow anyone to marry more than one person, but people can live together without being married. We like each other a lot, and even though I'm worried a little about what your grandparents might say if I live with them, I thought a lot about it, and I want to do it.
"We'd give it a little time to make sure that everyone was getting along the way we'd need to, but if all goes well, Rooster would adopt you and Jeremy as his kids. He'd take care of us, just like Sonia and Tommy. Tommy could be your brother, and Jeremy could be his little brother. Remember what Tommy asked for on his birthday, a brother that he could help raise to be a man. Jeremy can be that brother, although Sonia and Rooster want to have other kids too.
"We'd move in, and you and Tommy could go to school together, just like now. You'd come home together, play together, eat together. Most people don't want to share the people they love. They want to hold onto them with both hands, and not let go, afraid of what might happen if they do. Rooster and Sonia aren't like that. They'd like us to share the life they have together, if that's okay with you."
"For real?" Belinda asked.
"For real," I said.
"Is this really what you want, Mom?" Belinda asked. "You're not just trying to get me a good Dad like Tommy has?"
"Baby, I want this almost as bad as you. The only way I won't move in, is if you don't want me to. I care a lot about Rooster and Sonia, and we enjoy each other's company. Even if I can't be married, I can have almost everything a married person could have."
"Would you have your own bedroom?"
"No, Belinda. I'd sleep in their bedroom."
"Even have sex?"
"Even sex."
"Is that why you think Grandma and Grandpa won't like it? Because you should be married to have sex?""
"It's one of the reasons they might not like it. Probably not the only one."
"May I interrupt a moment?" I asked.
"Go ahead," Bobbi said.
"Belinda, while marriage is recommended for people who want to be together, and especially for raising children together, it's not necessary that they do so. Society would prefer people be married to live together and have sex together, but sometimes it's not possible, as much as we'd like to, for lots of different reasons, including your Mom's reason. She can't marry a married person. It doesn't mean that she can't fall in love with a married person, or they can't fall in love with her, but the law only allows two people to marry. So as much as Sonia and I would like to get married to your mother, we can't. But we still care for each other enough to want to do it.
"So, that means we have to do things to get around the law, but still provide for each other the way marriage would. That includes giving your mom guarantees about how we'll treat her, and you kids. We'll do that with contracts. I'll make written agreements that I will take care of you, your mother and Jeremy, just as if we could get married. It also includes adopting you, so I can't treat you differently than I would treat any of my other children, whether I adopt them or Sonia has them with me."
"Have you had sex with them, mom?"
"I did, with both of them. Sometimes girls can have sex with other girls and like it. I like it, which is why I can do this. If I couldn't have sex with Sonia and Rooster, I couldn't live in their house with them. I can't try to take Sonia from Rooster, nor can I try to take Rooster from Sonia. We have to do this together, or it won't work. We'd get angry and resent each other. I was worried about having sex since it's been so long since your father died, and I wasn't sure if it would be the same, so we had sex, and we liked it. I liked it a lot. I feel like a whole person again, not just a mother, but a woman."
"Now even marriages can end in divorce," I said, "and this is something only a few people have tried, so we have to be careful, and look after each other. People might make fun of you in school. Your grandparents may fight your mom on this. So, we'd like to give it a try to see if it works out for everyone, including you, but if you're happy, and your Mom's happy, and Sonia and Tommy are happy, then I'll do my best to treat you just as if I'm married to your mother. I care for you and her that much. So, if you're willing to give it a try, I think everyone else is too. What do you think, Tommy? Are you willing to share your Dad with Belinda?"
"Yeah, I think so."
"Good. I'm not promising it's going to be easy. You're going to have two moms now, both of you. If Bobbi asks you to do something, you can't say, 'you're not my mom, I don't have to listen to you', because she's an adult, and knows more things than you do, you should listen to her. Same with you Belinda. Sometimes, you'll have to listen to Sonia like she was your mother. Not to mention that Benson and Ann will also live there. Two more adults who even I'll turn to for advice. We'll have to work at it, so we get better at it.
"There is bound to be some conflict. I'm not perfect, and I don't expect anyone else to be perfect, but I'm going to go from living by myself with just Benson to look after me, to having four other adults, and three children sharing my home. I'm not used to it. I'm not used to kids, and lots of other adults, but I want you all there, so I'll learn to live with it, and make compromises and sacrifices so that it works for everyone. You'll need to do the same things. It will be very important to talk to each other, so we all can figure out how to do that, but I really, really want to do this. Do you think you two kids can learn to live like this, all together, and share our lives together, as one big family?"
"Do you really love my Mom?" Belinda asked.
"Not as much as I love Sonia, because I've known Sonia since I was in high school, but I love her as much as anyone else in my life right now. Will that be good enough for you?"
"When would this happen?" Belinda asked.
"I'd like you all to move in at the same time, instead of moving some of you now, and some of you later. I think your last day of school at your old school should be the day before Thanksgiving, and we'll get all of your stuff moved after Thanksgiving, and move to your new school on Monday. Your mom, Sonia and I are going to talk to her parents after the football game. Hopefully, they'll go along with our decision. I'm hoping they'll realize that this will be good for you and your mom. Then next week, you'll come to my house and pick out your new room, and if you need any furniture for it, we'll get some, or you can keep what you have now. Would you like to do that, Belinda?" I opened my arms towards her.
She looked at her mom, and when Bobbi smiled and nodded, Belinda came flying into my arms. I gave her a big hug.
"Hopefully, Belinda, your dad will somehow find a way tell me what I need to know to be the best Dad I can be for you and Jeremy. Is that okay?"
"Yes."
"I need a favor from you?"
"What?"
"Your mom just decided this today, and we need to talk about how we're going to get this done, but it's your bedtime. Would you mind sleeping in Ann's room with Jeremy, so we can chat together? I don't want you by yourself in your apartment. I want you here with us."
"Okay. I can do that."
I kissed the top of her head. "Off you go then. You too, Tommy. We've got big plans this weekend. Oh, and Belinda. If anyone asks, just say you're going to come live with us. Don't tell people your Mom will be in our bed. Lots of people may not like it, but you can tell them I plan to adopt you, so you can have a new Dad. Deal?"
"Deal."
We got the kids tucked into bed, with me picking Jeremy up out of Bobbi's lap and carrying him. Belinda climbed in beside him and I kissed her forehead again as I turned out the lamp beside her and she sighed as she curled into a ball under the covers of Ann's bed.
We went back to the living room where we turned most of the lights off. We sat side by side on the couch and I put my arms around both of them.
"Bobbi, let's start with you. What, if anything have you told your parents?"
"I couldn't say anything at all when I saw them on Tuesday. I guess I was still too flummoxed by the entire situation. When I saw Mom as I was dropping Jeremy off, I imagined her in bed with Sonia, and I almost couldn't speak at all. She asked me if there was anything wrong, and I just mumbled I was thinking about something important, but I wasn't ready to talk about it yet.
"Then, when I got to work, I saw my dad, and thought of him having sex with Sonia, and I kept thinking, oh my god, oh my god. What the hell. All of these images just crashing through my head like a runaway freight train. I don't see my dad that often at work. He's usually out with the guys working, but every time I'd see him, there he was in my head, naked with my girlfriend. Can I call you my girlfriend, Sonia?"
"You can call me anything you want, lover. This is us now."
"He didn't note my distraction much on Tuesday, but even he began to notice by Thursday. 'What's going on, pumpkin?' he asked. 'Dad, remember the other day I was asking what you and mom thought about a polyamorous relationship with more than two people living together?' 'Yeah. Did your friend move in with them then?' 'It wasn't a friend, it was me. I want to move in with the ex-army guy who's been helping me out, and his fiancée. It was her idea that we live together, and he agreed. He treats my kids well, we get along together, I like them both a lot. I want to do this. He's taking Belinda and Tommy, his fiancée's son, to the Vikings game on Sunday, and after the game, he's going to take us to dinner at Manny's so you can meet them. We've got reservations for five at seven-thirty.'
"He was pretty shocked. 'Have you had sex with them?' He asked. 'Many times over the last month,' I said. 'At first, it was mostly to see if I could have sex again after so long, and how it would be with someone new. Then Sonia suggested it to me first that I have sex with Rooster, and he agreed, as long as she wasn't left out of it, so we had a threesome, and it was great. I enjoyed all of the sex so much. I felt like a woman again. I felt alive again like I haven't since James died. It was beautiful, Dad.'
"Then he asked if I'd ever had sex with a woman before that, and I told him no, I hadn't, and never had a desire to before, and if it were just a woman, I probably wouldn't have been interested, but it wasn't, and I was surprised how much I liked it. I told him that when he was looking after his grandkids last weekend, we were having what was supposed to be our last sex before I started dating again, but everything was so good between us, Sonia asked if I'd be willing to move in with them. Then Rooster told me that if I did, and it worked out, he'd adopt Belinda and Jeremy, and ensure I was taken care of, just as if we were married, even if he couldn't marry me, including setting me up in another place if it didn't work out. He didn't start ranting and raving right off, which I thought was a pretty good sign. He was pretty thoughtful, not saying much of anything.
"Finally he said we'd have to talk about this some more and he wanted to meet you both, so agreed to go to dinner, which is where we are at the moment."
"Does he know about Sonia yet?" I asked
"Oh, sorry. No, not that they've met her. I did say that Sonia was a former prostitute who'd had to support her son and mother because they were barely making it on her waitress salary, and she didn't want to scrape by when she could provide more for him by selling herself. I added that Sonia was a good person, who hated hooking, and been medically checked and was free of diseases, so that wasn't a problem. I just couldn't say that we'd all had sex with the same person, so that's going to be a surprise Sunday. He wondered if you knew that Sonia had been a prostitute, and I said you did, and didn't care, if she was done for good. Dad told Mom last night, and she wanted to talk to me about it when I got Jeremy today, but I said we were all having pizza and watching a movie tonight, so we could talk on Sunday."
"Sunday should be interesting," Sonia said.
"Yeah," Bobbi laughed. "I just couldn't get that part out. It's still too strange for words. I wonder if they'll say anything about it if none of us do. 'Oh, yeah, we want to tell you we hired your lover for a threesome a couple years ago.' Maybe they'll be too shocked to say anything either, as long as we don't mention it."
"So don't greet them by name?" Sonia laughed. "Pleased to meet you again, Mr. and Mrs. Reeves."
"No, don't do that," Bobbi laughed. "Maybe they'll hope you don't remember them and tell me they hired you."
"So, this is happening," I said. "You're sure you want to do this?"
"I am." She turned to me and kissed me, a nice, heartfelt kiss, then reached across me to take Sonia's hand, squeezing it. "There may be some bumps and bruises along the way. I know that. I really liked what you said to Belinda, how it's going to be new and different for all of us, and we need to talk and be careful of each other's feelings as we work it out, but I'm in."
"You good for moving in at Thanksgiving? I'll take care of any penalties or whatever for not giving more notice."
"Whenever everyone is ready," Bobbi said.
"Why don't we start moving personal items, some clothes, and whatever else you'll be needing on a regular basis on Monday. I'll make sure I have the Genesis. Start deciding what you want to have with you, and what you want to donate to Goodwill or move to storage. My house is obviously fully equipped, but if there are some things you'd like to have, either because of emotional attachment or to make my home seem more like yours, we can discuss them. You'll need to let Belinda's school know you're taking her out, and when, and where she'll be going from now on. You'll want to let your Mom know that Jeremy will have someone to look after him from now on during the days, and it would be out of your way to take him to your parent's house before work anymore. But tell her she's always welcome to come here and visit, and take him to the local parks. Do you have brothers or sisters?"
"Two older brothers, one younger sister."
"Married or unmarried?"
"Both brothers married and they're plumbers working for my dad. Younger sister engaged to another plumber working for Dad."
"You might want to show their pictures to Sonia too, to see if they know each other."
"Oh, God. Do you think it's possible?"
"Anything is possible. They all worked on Lake Street. Might as well get it out now."
Bobbi pulled out her phone and showed Sonia pictures of her other family members. Oldest brother, Dan junior, she'd sucked off several times, and since he'd been married for ten years, he was married when she had sex with him. Next oldest, Frank, also married, she didn't know, nor Bobbi's sister, Carole, but she knew the fiancé.
"I fucked him a couple of times."
"When?"
"Over a year ago, I think."
"They just got engaged six months ago, so at least he's not a low life cheater like my brother."
"Maybe he doesn't cheat," I said. "Don't make assumptions yet. Maybe his wife doesn't like oral sex, but told him he could pay for it if he wanted it that bad. Relieves her of what she might look at as distasteful, and it's not as intimate as sex. If he's paying for it, she doesn't have to worry about him developing feelings for whoever. Talk to him before you accuse him. The only reason all of this matters at all, is I'd like to have Christmas at my house. Gives everyone a chance to meet everyone else before the wedding. Oh, and you're going on our honeymoon with us. We're in this all the way too."
"Where are we going?"
"It hasn't been decided yet. You get to help pick it out. We've looked at a few places. About all that Sonia cares about is that it's clothing free, so we don't have to get dressed at all, in someplace warm, since it will be February in Minnesota, and we'll actually want to be naked, and she wouldn't mind if it allowed open sex, so anytime we felt like it, we could get it on without offending anyone or getting arrested. I guess that one depends on how adventurous you feel about sex in front of other people."
"More open to it since we're kind of each having sex in front of one other person all the time, but that's more iffy at the moment."
"You wouldn't have to have sex yourself," Sonia said, "but you might be seeing it, from Rooster and me to other swinging couples. There's a couple of places in Mexico and Jamaica that looked nice to me, and there's something called Bliss Cruises, where Castaways Travel books a regular cruise ship for adult only nude cruises. Nudity is pretty standard outside, but you're usually required to wear clothes inside or for dining. No open sex except in some designated rooms. I'd be willing to consider something like that, but I'd prefer never having to wear a stitch of clothing, and wallow in the pure sensuality of it all, just like this past weekend, soaking up the sun and wind and water."
"Ooh, that does sound appealing. You're not planning on having sex with anyone else are you?"
"No, just the three of us," Sonia said. "I've got all I need. One hot man, and one hot woman to fuck to my heart's content, or until Rooster's cock gives out. I'll show you what I'm thinking of on Sunday during the football game."
"I guess I'd better get going," Bobbi said. "It's getting late."
"Don't go. Spend the night here. Your kids are here. Why wake them up to bring them to your place. We don't have to have sex, but a little fooling around would be fine by me," Sonia said.
"Okay, you twisted my arm."
"Hard too, if the speed of your capitulation is any indication."
Bobbi smiled. "I've got to say I sure do enjoy spending time with everyone."
We went to Sonia's room and stripped down to our underwear. With Jeremy and Belinda in a strange apartment, it wasn't beyond possibility that they might get up and wander. We just spent some time kissing each other, and stroking and caressing, mostly me doing the caressing since I didn't want to cream my underwear, but I gave both of my ladies a fingered orgasm before we went to sleep.
I heard Tommy get up first, and got up with him, slipping on my jeans. I had him hold off on eating so we could all eat together.
"How are you doing this morning, Scout? You still okay about what's happening?"
"Yeah, I am. Does my mom like sex with girls?"
"Not as much as with guys, but she tried it a couple times in high school and liked it enough to keep doing it on occasion."
"What do you think about that? Does it make you mad?"
"It doesn't bother me. I like watching it. It's twice as much fun in my opinion. It's not uncommon for some girls to like other girls, even when they like guys."
I heard Jeremy get up next, and he must have awoken Belinda, as they both came out a few minutes later.
"Is Mom in our apartment?" Belinda asked.
"No, she spent the night too. She's in Sonia's room."
"Did you guys have sex last night?"
"Just some kissing. We think it's important everyone kind of get used to this before we get too carried away in the same house, especially with you so close. We didn't want to wake you up. Are you still good this morning? Anything you want to talk about?"
"What got decided last night?"
"We're going to start moving your personal stuff starting Monday, like clothes, mementos, souvenirs, that sort of thing. We'll have to leave some things here, like your school clothes. After the game on Sunday, you might want to start dividing your things into stuff to go, and stuff to stay. Put it in piles or something. I'll try to pick up some boxes later. When we take the first load to my place, you can pick out what room you want, and decide if you want your bedroom stuff in there, or you want new stuff, like Tommy got. The stuff you brought with, you can start putting away. Anything you don't take, we'll give to Goodwill, so someone else can make use of it.
"We talked a little about what to say to your grandparents. They know your Mom wants to move in with us, but they want to meet us and make sure we'll treat you right. We talked about my upcoming marriage to Sonia, and we both want your mom coming on the honeymoon with us. I really do want your mom as a full partner in our relationship. That means if the adults go somewhere, all the adults go. If the kids go, all of the kids go, except for age inappropriate stuff. Like Jeremy won't care about a football game, but if we go on vacation, everyone will go.
"I told Tommy that the kinds of things we get to do, depends on how hard you work. Keep your room clean, maybe help out with some house chores, but mostly work hard in school. You do good, we all get to do more fun things. You don't work and study hard, then I spend time teaching you how to clean your room or study. If you've taken care of those things, we can go to movies and ball games and parks. The harder you work, the farther you can go in life, and I want to make sure you go as far as you can, because I've helped build up good habits for you. Do you see?"
"Yeah."
"That's why Tommy does his schoolwork right away. He knows if it's done, we can do the good stuff. If it's not, we can't. Does Jeremy eat scrambled eggs and bacon?"
"He does."
"Then I'll get started on breakfast because I just heard the toilet flush, so I think the Moms are up."
I started frying up bacon, and as anticipated, the ladies joined us five minutes later. Bobbi got a hug from Belinda. Sonia gave me a quick kiss and started setting the table, then she finished the bacon while I mixed the eggs. For the six of us, I used a whole dozen. I mixed in chives, cheese, and onion flakes, with a tiny bit of milk, whisked it, and poured it into a hot pan, stirring it. Sonia put the bacon down a few seconds before I brought the eggs to the table, still a little damp.
"Say when," I said to Bobbi for her plate and Jeremy's. Tommy and Belinda decided on their own and Sonia and I split the rest. It was a little quiet at the table. Some things we couldn't or didn't want to talk about in front of the kids, and for the kids, some things they were getting used to. It was the first time ever eating together as a family, when everyone knew it was a family.
After helping to clean up, Bobbi and her kids went to their apartment to change out of yesterday's clothes. I told Belinda to dress warm, as we were going to toss around the football. Sonia and I took a shower, (together, of course) then I put on different jeans, an under tee, then a sweat shirt. By the time they got back we were ready to go.
The apartment complex had a fairly large grassy play area, so it started with just the three of us tossing the ball around, but then a few more kids joined, including some older boys, then a couple of adults.
"Can we play a game?" Tommy asked.
"I think so. Here's the rules for everyone who wants to play. It's touch, one handed. I know that all you bigger folks can plant one of these young kids on their keister, but this is for exercise, not to tromp all over each other. You can block the kids without knocking them on their can. Just get in front of them. Don't bull rush them. We're not even a peewee team in pads. If you forget yourself, and knock a kid down, I'll plant your ass on the hard ground and see how you like it. Close to the swing sets is one goal, down by that tree there is the other one. One point per touchdown, game to 15. The younger kids split evenly per team. Anyone who wants to play, pick a couple guys and go down to the other end, and I'll send half of the youngsters down there."
Half of the older children and men went down to the other side, and I divvied up the younger kids and sent half with them. I kept Tommy and Belinda with me.
"Are you fast?" One of the guys asked me.
"I can run ten miles with a fifty pound pack, but no one's ever called me fast," I said. "I'll play offensive and defensive line. I don't know any of you, so figure out what positions to play, and I'll go along with it."
"How are you at throwing a football?" Another one asked.
"I can throw it a mile, but accuracy is spotty."
"Why don't you do the kick offs, Just throw it up high so we can all run down under the ball." He tossed it to me.
Our field was only about forty yards long, so I tossed it up forty in the air and forty down field, and we were waiting when the guy fair caught it. They would have to go the length of the field. As we played. I figured I could knock anyone down, but like I said, this was for fun, so I just walked in on the quarterback. Even when I was double-teamed, I generally moved ahead. I tried not to let anyone get around me, but other than that, I played it for fun. I let the kids rush the quarterback, as I attracted most of the attention and the quarterback could usually outmaneuver one of the kids. Except for Tommy. He was a Speedy Gonzalez out there. Most of them could probably beat him in a footrace, but he could turn on a dime, and he had enough reach he could usually touch someone. We used the halfway point on the field as a first down marker, about even with the teeter-totters, but other than that, it was four downs to score.
They didn't get a first down on their first attempt, and we got the ball on a punt. On offense, I blocked anyone thirteen or older; they couldn't get past me on a bet, but I frequently let the younger kids through and let the QB run around with the little kids chasing him. We didn't score either.
The other team scored on their second attempt. They had a fast guy who ran past everyone and hauled in a deep ball.
We didn't score on our second attempt either. Down two-nothing after another score.
"Time," I called before the next kick off. "Huddle up, team."
We all got together. "I don't want to seem like I'm criticizing your play calling, QB, but you're going after their strength. I don't know if you were paying that much attention earlier, but these kids can catch a football if it's not a fast ball. Tommy can get open from whatever kid is guarding him, and Belinda's better than most girls, and half of the guys her age. Their best guys are defending our best guys, but they don't have anyone who can stay with our best kids, even though they're our shortest. So I suggest you quit throwing into coverage, and throw to the uncovered. Maybe if they have to start guarding the kids, the other guys will get open. My two cents worth."
"Good plan, coach."
We scored, Tommy on a touchdown pass. Before the game was over, 15-14, Tommy had five touchdowns, and Belinda had three. The game was pretty close, 6-6, when the ladies came down with Jeremy. They started cheerleading for our team, with Sonia dusting off her playbook and pulling out some of her high school cheers, including some somersaults and cartwheels. I think the other team watching her cheer, caused two touchdowns and one interception for our side. At the conclusion of the game, they came rushing out and gave their conquering heroes some hugs and kisses.
"How many touchdowns did you score, Tommy?" Sonia said.
"Five, and Belinda had three. She did great." Belinda beamed.
"Wow. Sounds like a hot chocolate moment to me," Bobbi said.
"Thanks for the game, guys," I said. "If you want to keep playing, leave the football on the patio of apartment 1C and knock. It belongs to the touchdown king here," putting my arms around Tommy.
Tommy's smile lit up the gray afternoon. We were well on our way to truly bonding as a family.
Hot chocolate was on tap for everyone, and before Bobbi left with her children, I made sure she got a toe curling kiss in front of everyone. Belinda liked that too.
Sonia and I did get naked and played hide the salami that evening, not worrying about anyone else but Tommy in the apartment, a game which got repeated the following morning in another hiding place.
******
Owning a suite at the stadium got me VIP parking, so we had an easy time getting into the stadium. After an elevator ride to the top, we entered my suite, where we had a number of amenities laid out for us besides just the view. I'd gotten there early so we could sit up front without anyone else in our way. There were game programs stacked near the door, and we grabbed a couple going in, along with a couple of sodas for the kids and a bottle of water for me.
We got there early enough to watch the pre-game stretching, running, throwing and catching. I had binoculars with me so we could see the players better. Tommy was a huge Justin Jefferson fan, so most of the time, he was watching him. Belinda liked the primary Viking tight end, T. J. Hockenson. I had one of the kids on either side of me, playing no favorites.
Bruce got there around fifteen minutes before the game, along with some executives from a company he was schmoozing. I didn't know it at the time, but it was from an adult toy manufacturer he was bargaining with to license and make the Slave Trainer that I'd thought up.
"Hey, Bruce, good to see you again. I don't know if you actually met them at my engagement party, since they pretty much stayed out of the way, but this will be my son, Tommy Walker, and if all goes well with her mother, this will be my daughter, Belinda Burns."
"You're planning to adopt them?"
"Every kid should have a Dad," I said, "and these are two great kids who I'll be proud to call my children. Forget the action on the field today. In touch football yesterday, Tommy scored five touchdowns, and Belinda three of the fifteen we had to win the game. They were unstoppable."
"Wow, that's quite impressive," Bruce said. "I'd like to introduce you to the group I have here today. If you'll step back here."
"Sure. Hang here, kids. Some business to take care of. I won't be long."
I stepped to the back of our suite where Bruce quietly introduced me to the execs to a company out in California who made adult toys.
"You thought of the idea for a slave trainer?" One of them asked. "Are you big into BDSM?"
"Not really. I've toyed with it, but never spent more than a few hours a month ever doing much with it."
"How did you come up with the idea?"
"Like most of them. It just popped into my head at an opportune time when I was playing with my fiancée. I wondered if it would be possible to do, and what it would take."
"Your team has worked through the mechanics of the device. We're ready to put together some mock-ups for testing. Would it be all right if we sent some samples to you for testing. You could check our product's fit and finish, build quality, maybe a couple other things in our product line to compare with similar items on the market for overall quality?"
"I'd love to test them out. Just make sure it comes to my house in plain boxes. I'm going to have a few kids living there from now on, these two and a younger boy."
"Yours?"
"They will be, but not yet."
"Do they both have the same mother?" Another fellow asked, a reasonable question since they were different races.
"Different mothers, different fathers. Let's just say it's complicated, and leave it at that."
"Robert is ex-Army," Bruce said. "The girl is the daughter of an Army widow that he's been helping, and his fiancée's son was from a previous marriage."
"Who did you serve with?"
"Delta Force."
"I'll bet you've seen some action. Thank you for your service."
"I have, and since Belinda's father died in action, he did too. I'd appreciate it if you could say the same to her at some point. It's always good for family when we acknowledge their sacrifice."
"You bet. We'll try to tone down our usual topics of conversation."
"That would be helpful. I appreciate it. Thanks, guys. I'll let you get to it. I'm just here to see the game with the kids. Bruce can handle the details."
I rejoined my kids. That was a strange thought. My kids. Four months ago, I'd been a committed bachelor, tooling down the road without even thinking about kids, and I was about to have, not just one, but three, and two different women sharing my house. Three if you included Sonia's mother. Talk about life changes.
"Who are they?" Tommy asked when I sat back down again.
"They're from a company that makes stuff. I had an idea when I was on our camping trip and my company seems to have figured out how to make it, but we don't have the ability to manufacture things in large quantities. That takes a factory. What I'll do is license the idea for someone else to make, and we'll get a cut of the profits if it sells. They're one of the companies bidding to make it."
"What was the idea for?" Belinda asked. Of course she would.
"Let's just say it was an idea for an adult toy," I said.
"Like a vibrator?" Belinda asked.
"How do you know about vibrators?"
"After Dad died, Mom had to use one when she got lonely. I saw it in her nightstand drawer and asked about it."
"What's a vibrator?" Tommy asked.
"It's something shaped like a penis that a woman uses when she doesn't have a man," Belinda said.
"Did my mom use a vibrator before she met you, Rooster?"
"How about we table this discussion for another time, and I'll let your mom tell you what she thinks you should know, but yes. That's all I'm going to say for now. Pay attention to the football."
The game was one of the worst offensive games the Vikings played all season, despite the fact we won. Sam Darnold threw three interceptions on the day. The first quarter ended 7-3, Jaguars. Mac Jones, the QB Jacksonville brought in when Trevor Lawrence was injured, scored on a one yard keeper. That was it for their scoring as the Vikes defense played lights out the rest of the game. We got two interceptions and a fumble recovery to make up for our miscues, and got four field goals on the day for a final score of 12-7. No offensive fireworks for Jefferson or Hockenson. Still, we won, so that was good, and the kids loved the final score.
We had a lot of fun chanting Skol during the beating of the the pregame drum and after a score.
"What does skol mean?" Tommy asked.
"How involved do you want me to get?"
"It's just one word. How complicated is it?"
"Well, now it means 'Cheers' or 'cheer', but it used to mean a communal bowl of a drink that was passed around among friends."
"How does a bowl become cheer?" Belinda asked.
"Well, a lot of the early settlers to Minnesota came from the Scandinavian countries of Norway and Sweden. Their word for this communal bowl was Skål, which is actually spelled with an A with a circle over the top. You know how when you make a toast, someone might say 'Cheers' or 'Drink Up', or something similar. During a celebration, they'd pass the bowl and say 'cheers' or 'drink up' and eventually, the word for the bowl became the word for 'cheers' and the spelling got changed to a more English word with the O instead of the funny A. And since they want everyone to Cheer, they use the Scandinavian word instead of Cheer."
Tommy laughed. "So if we were yelling bowl, bowl, bowl, we'd be correct?"
"Well the word did change from a bowl to 'cheer', so not really, but that's where it came from. You could shout cheer, but then it wouldn't be the same because you're not speaking the same language as everyone else doing the chant."
During halftime, two of the executives came up to Belinda and thanked her for her father's service and sacrifice for our country. It made her cry, but also made her feel good. I expected it would be a while before she didn't cry when she remembered her father. I could probably never be more than an adequate replacement for him, but I'd do my best.
On the way out, we bought some souvenirs, a Hockenson football jersey for Belinda, and a Vikings pennant for Tommy's room, since he already had a Jefferson jersey.
*****
We got home right as Ann did. Ann was going to look after the kids at Bobbi's place so Jeremy and Belinda could sleep in their own beds, and we'd get Tommy from there after our supper. I'd picked up some boxes after our touch football game on Saturday, so I told Tommy to help Belinda pack up some of her things to come to our house tomorrow.
I dressed in a suit, although I left off the tie. Sonia wore a dress suit about as far away from hooker clothes as you could get, and Bobbi wore a sweater dress that looked good, and still showed her curves.
The drive to Manny's was relatively quiet, pretty much wrapped up in our own thoughts of how this meeting would fare, although I did ask for Bobbi's parents' names ahead of time, Dan and Eva Reeves. We arrived early, with Bobbi and I more seated facing where her parents would come in, so she could spot them, and Sonia at an angle so she wasn't immediately visible. They were right on time, and the hostess directed them to our table in the private room, Bobbi and I standing as they approached, Sonia standing after we did.
"Mom, Dad, I'd like you to meet Robert Johnson, and his fiancée, Sonia Walker. Rooster, Sonia, my parents, Dan and Eva Reeves. As I've explained, Rooster was in the army, Delta Force, and has his own company locally. His family calls him Bobby, but since that's confusing with me, everyone is trying to call him Rooster, which was his army call sign."
I stuck out my hand. "Pleased to meet you Mr. and Mrs. Reeves. Please have a seat."
They each shook my hand, then Sonia's. So far, they didn't seem to have recognized Sonia, and since her hooker name was Star, the name hadn't rung a bell either. Maybe this might go smoother than I expected.
They sat and the waiter was over for drink orders. I ordered a couple bottles of Sonia's favorite champagne and before they started perusing the menu, the questions started coming out.
"Our daughter has explained what she wants to do. I can't say her mother and I are very excited about the prospect. What have you got to say for yourself? Are you just buying some kind of live in mistress for you and your fiancée? What's going on?"
"Dad!" Bobbi started.
"No, it's okay, Bobbi. They have a right to know. When Belinda grows up, I sure hope I'd have some questions for anyone about to change her life in such a profound way. I expected to get the third degree. It's what any good father would do.
"Sir, first of all. I'm not trying to buy your daughter. I doubt that she could be bought, and I'm a little surprised you'd suggest it. I helped her because I thought she could use the help, and I had no expectations regarding any help I provided. It was just help. I had the money, and I could afford it.
"I, more than most, understand the sacrifices that the families of our soldiers make for the service of their husbands and fathers. I have nothing but respect for Bobbi. I recognized her need, and the pain she's gone through, but admire her courage, her love and devotion for her family, her work ethic, her intelligence and her beauty. I did not expect to care as much for your daughter as I did. I'm already in love with my beautiful fiancée and have been since I was in high school. I've spent the last ten years since my graduation looking for her. Your daughter, on the other hand, was a fortunate accident.
"Sonia has always enjoyed the company of women, although not as much as men, and when Bobbi expressed an interest in finally coming out of her self imposed shell, and Sonia told me that I would be a good man to help her in this, I was surprised that she would offer, or even that Bobbi would accept, especially as I refused to do anything without Sonia's presence in the bedroom."
I paused as they were bringing our champagne, as the server didn't need to hear such an intimate conversation.
When they left again, I continued. "It worked out better than anyone expected. Not only did we all seem compatible, but we cared for each other, and had sympathy for the many accidents that brought us to this point. Bobbi wanted to do it one more time before she started dating again, and that too, was better than we anticipated, and only served to make us closer. When Sonia suggested that we make it permanent, I agreed that it might work out if we were careful and tried to meet everyone's needs and concerns.
"This is what I offered your daughter, because I know that with this step, she isn't afforded the protections of marriage. I'd like to do that for her, in whatever way that I can provide contractually, what marriage will give Sonia as my wife. Access to my money. As far as I'm concerned, she'll be a full partner in our relationship, and will have access to all of my accounts with her own debit and credit cards in her name. I'll adopt and recognize as my own children, both Belinda and Jeremy, and give them the education and opportunities afforded to any other children I should have. I propose putting fifty thousand dollars a year into an account for Bobbi. If at any time, I turn out not to be the kind of man she can depend on, she can walk away with all of the accumulated money from that account. If our relationship lasts for ten years, that is five hundred thousand or more for her, plus continued support for her children and residence, cars and health care."
"You didn't tell me that," Bobbi said.
"Wait one, the waiter's coming back."
I stopped so we could place our next order, skipping appetizers because it was so late, and going to a salad. I had the sliced tomato and onion, Dan the caesar, Eva the spinach, and both my girls the chopped salad. As soon as he left, I continued.
"This is all rather sudden. We only offered a week ago, and you just accepted on Friday. Not much time for discussion yet. Dan, Eva, what I'm offering to Bobbi is the equivalent of a marriage. I can't marry two women, but I don't want to totally disrupt Bobbi's life if she chooses to accept our offer. If she wants to continue working for you, she can, but she'll never want for anything as long as she lives in my house. Sonia feels as strongly as I do about this. For it to work, we have to be partners in everything, even child rearing. We even want Bobbi to go on our honeymoon when we get married. It's all together, one family, or it will never succeed. I'll have lawyers draw up the paperwork to give her those protections, and if you want to have your own attorneys look it over before she signs, I have no objection. I want you to know that both your daughter and grandchildren will be loved, safe and secure with me."
"Dad, Mom, you should see how he is with Belinda. It's so touching. He tries to include her in everything, helps her with her homework, does things with all of us. Belinda is head over heels in love with her new Dad. I told her on Friday, and she's crazy excited about the whole thing. I even told her I'd be sharing their bed, and she doesn't care. She might want this even more than I do."
"I didn't know you liked girls," Eva said.
"I didn't know either. I suppose I was curious what it would be like, but I've enjoyed the reality, even more than the imagined fantasy. Both of them together, like wow! Mom, I've never been as sexually satisfied as having sex with them. Have you ever had sex with a woman or had a threesome?"
Both Eva and Dan blushed. So did Sonia, but not so noticeably.
"Really throwing them under the bus there, Bobbi," I said.
"No, that's okay," Eva said. "You were good about answering our concerns. I guess we're all adults here who've done some sexual things. We have had a threesome and it was with a woman. It was good."
"Anyone I know?" Bobbi asked, a twinkle in her eye. Pushing the envelope.
"No. It was someone we hire...." She stopped and they both looked at Sonia really close, and Eva said, "No fucking way."
"Hey, Mr. and Mrs. Reeves. Good to see you again," Sonia said. "Did you get your money's worth?"
"Star!"
"My street name."
"I'm sorry it had to come out this way," Bobbi said, "but I figured you'd eventually recognize her, so it might as well come out now."
"Oh, Jesus!" Eva said. "This can't be happening."
"You aren't the only ones in the family who've hired her," Bobbi said. "Christmas should be very interesting this year."
"Who else?" Dan asked.
"Junior and Gordon," Bobbi said. "Gordy was pre-engagement. Junior not so much."
Dan looked at me. "How does this affect you?"
"I expected it might happen knowing her former profession and was prepared for the eventuality. I figure anything that happened in the past is the past. Nothing I or anyone else can do about the past. To me, Sonia is worth whatever I have to bear in terms of a little embarrassment. We've run into this four other various and sundry times including once while we were out dancing with Bobbi, which is when she found out Sonia used to be a hooker, and one of them was someone who works for me. Turns out, my about to be former brother-in-law was her sort of pimp, so he was the biggest bird dropping in my life."
"How did that happen?" Eva asked.
Sonia explained her relationship with Greg, and I told them about my sister, Maya, and how Greg pulled the wool over her eyes. That explanation was interrupted by our salad and entree orders, dragging it out some.
"How rough is that for you, meeting others who've hired her?" Dan asked me.
"It's not as bad as you might imagine. Remember, I got shot at for a living for several years, so in the entire scheme of things, it's not that important. I wasn't exactly an altar boy either. There are two women I saw in the restaurant coming in here, I've dated in the past. They're not likely to come up to me and rub Sonia's or Bobbi's face in it, but there it is. I do have one favor to ask, however. Sonia has managed to hide her previous profession from her son, and I'd like to keep it that way. If you could talk to Junior and Gordon and make sure they keep their mouths shut around the kids, I'd appreciate it, and her name is Sonia, not Star. Star is dead and buried."
"Was Dan Junior with his wife like we were?" Eva asked Sonia.
"No, ma'am. All blow jobs all the time, maybe six or seven times spread out over the last four years."
"Rooster suggested that Junior may have an agreement with Mandy that he can have his oral pleasure elsewhere, but I haven't talked to him about it yet," Bobbi said. "If he's screwing around on Mandy, I'll be a little pissed. She's such a sweetheart. I guess what Gordy did before he got engaged is his own business."
"What's it like being a hooker?" Eva asked.
"If I hadn't had to do it to support my son and mother, I wouldn't have done it. I'd have starved first. It's so degrading and debasing."
"Didn't you enjoy the sex you had with people, with us?" Dan asked.
"On the whole, no. I felt forced into it, so it was never that much for pleasure, just the money. That's not to say I couldn't have pleasure, but it wasn't that often. When with a female, it was usually better than a male, because women are harder to fool. As I recall, I had a pretty good time with both of you, but not as much as I do with your daughter, because it's something I want to do. It's no reflection on your abilities as lovers, more my state of mind. I can relax and enjoy myself, and I don't have to worry about if I'm giving you your money's worth."
"How did you get involved with Bobbi? Did you know each other before?" Dan asked.
"No. Even though we're neighbors, I tended to shy away from my neighbors because of my profession. I'd seen Bobbi, because Tommy tended to play with Belinda, but never spoke to her except to say hi once in a while. Rooster instigated contact when he learned Bobbi's husband died, and he was hoping to have some of Tommy's friends over after we moved, so he arranged some things so the kid's parents would get to know and trust him. Bobbi was just another of the parents at first. Then, I tentatively invited Bobbi to be my bridesmaid, because I didn't have a lot of friends, again, because of my profession. All my friends were other hookers.
"What really impressed me about Bobbi is when we had our engagement party at his mother's place in Waverly. Rooster was this tall, gawky, skinny nerd in high school, and he got made fun of a lot growing up. I didn't even recognize him for a few weeks as we started dating. He had to tell me who he was. Anyway, a bunch of his classmates showed up at the party, ready to razz him some more. They didn't recognize him either.
"They're starting to run him down, not even knowing he's standing there, and Bobbi tells them they're all fools, that Rooster is the nicest, finest man they were ever likely to meet. She recognized his quality right away, and wasn't afraid to tell a bunch of strangers they're idiots. I know part of that was the help he gave her, but she kicked ass and took names. That's when I really started to like her, and I figured if she wanted to find out if she could have sex again, then why not the best, because my Rooster is the best. I think that's when I figured it would be okay to let them have sex.
"Rooster wouldn't do it without me being a part of it, because he didn't want me to feel abandoned and left out, and when Bobbi agreed to my participation, that's when we found out how much we like and respect each other, and enjoy the sex together. Your daughter was a class act from the beginning, even after she found out I used to be a hooker. She could have been judgmental, but she wasn't."
"So when is all this going to happen?" Dan asked.
"I'm giving notice at the apartment tomorrow, and we'll start moving some of our things then," Bobbi said. "We're hoping to complete the move Thanksgiving weekend. Belinda will start at her new school the following Monday."
"Where do you live?" Eva asked. "Are we going to continue seeing our grandchildren?"
"I don't live that far away, about a mile and a half from Lake Street Plumbing, between Lake Harriet and Bde Maka Ska. Sonia's mother, Ann, and my butler/cook, Benson, who have developed their own romance, can look after Jeremy now when we aren't present, but you're always welcome to come and see them. There's a park nearby my home, so you'll have a ready place to take Jeremy if the weather cooperates. I'm an idea man for my company, and I'm home most of the time, because I can get ideas anywhere. I think family relationships are very important. In fact, I hoped to have your family and mine over for Christmas as a chance to get together before the wedding, which you'll all be invited to. I'd invite you for Thanksgiving, but I think that weekend will be a mess because of the move."
"We could have you to our house that day," Eva said.
"I'd love to come, although I don't know what my mother's or sister's plans are for the holiday, so let's just say the five of us, me, Sonia, Tommy, Ann and Benson. What time?"
"Two?" Eva said. "We usually eat a little later."
"Two is fine. Would you like my cook's help with food prep? He's a great chef."
"Have him call and we can compare recipes and come up with a plan. Thank you."
"Sound good to you, Sonia?" I asked.
"Just peachy. Just talk to Gordon and Dan Junior first, please. No more surprises while the kids are around, and as far as I'm concerned, our little adventure is our little secret. No one else in the family has to know squat."
"Thank God," Eva said. "It's bad enough Bobbi knows."
"I'll admit I was surprised when I found out, Mom, but one thing that Rooster said that made a lot of sense, and didn't make it so bad, was that you did it together. That you didn't cheat on each other, but explored as a couple. I can respect that, especially given my own new plans. I'm sure I'll get a ration from my siblings over my life choices."
"We'll try to tone that down for you."
"That might help, but I'm a big girl. I can handle some of the shit myself."
The rest of the meal was normal, just relative strangers getting to know each other. On the whole, I thought things went fairly well.
After supper, we spent an hour in Sonia's bed before Bobbi and I went to our own homes. The first time with Bobbi in a home or bedroom other than mine. Even though Sonia had me make my deposit in Bobbi, she cleaned up after both of us.
"You have clean up next time," she said to Bobbi.
"You got it, lover." Yeah, I felt good about this.
