Jackie Falls
Jackie looked to her right as she merged onto the exit for Route 95 South Richmond. She had been on the road for 8 hours and she still had a long way to go. She stopped on the NJ Turnpike for breakfast and two another stops for a pee breaks. She thanked God that the traffic so far was light.
She wanted to stop at various places but kept going. She thought about visiting Philadelphia and see all the historical sights. Fort McHenry in Baltimore was on her bucket list but there was no time. She knew, as she got deeper into Virginia there would be so many more points of interest that would catch her eye. She was going to have to make a list and time to visit them all.
Jackie leaned back in her car seat and stretched. "This is a long drive," she said out loud. She also realized that she was going to be a long way from home, alone, for the first time. It made her extremely nervous.
At least she didn't have to worry about her car. Her old one had seen better days and her dad was concerned about her being so far away, driving it. So he bought her a new car. It wasn't a new new car but it was new to her. Her father had it checked out and even bought new tires for her.
"Look," he said, "It's not a brand new car but it is much better than the one you have now. I couldn't rest at night knowing my little girl was driving around in one that may break down. I want you to be safe."
The long drive gave her time to think and there was a lot to think about. This summer had been very busy and there was much that had happened. It gave her pause to take it all in. It was difficult to decide on where to start and what most important.
First there was her mother and father. She had difficulty sorting it all out. She remembered the first Christmas, the anger, the hostility and how low she felt. It was Ginny Richmond that threw her a lifeline that night.
Now it all had changed in so many ways. Her parents are truly happy with their lives. The biggest change was her Dad. Jackie had idea what caused it but it is like a great weight has been lifted off his shoulders. Growing up he was tough and demanding, he was an advocate for tough love, not only for his children, but also for his wife. Now, he joked and laughed, and openly expressed his love. Jackie remembered just hiding out in her room when she was young. Now it is the last place she wants to be when she is home.
Rachel was just like dad only a little rougher. She never knew about Jackie's doubts. She thought that she needed to be tough. That was the way to help out.
Now Jackie couldn't ask for a better big sister. It had taken a long time but it was here. Oh sure there was the sex which got a little crazy but there was genuine love between the two now. There was a true bond between sisters. It only took Jackie finding out whom she was to bring it out.
There were so many people who had helped her. Some knew her secret while others didn't. Jackie wasn't sure which amazed her more, those who knew her and accepted her or those that didn't know and yet treated her so well. It still worried her though about coming completely out. She believed it would take only one person to wreck it all, someone like Dr. Robinson or even Maya. She had come too far to let them ruin it.
Those who knew the real Jackie had been so helpful, important, and loving. Natalie with her cock cage, opened up a new way to look at herself. Ginny had given her a lifeline when she must needed one. Dr. Lang had given her an opportunity of a lifetime; Lindsay gave her a true friend. Angie, Cassie, and Bev accepted her as woman. Kylie, a mentor whose guidance and advice had provided more than she could ever repay. Then there was Kelly.
Kelly was her rock. It was her support that led Jackie to where she was today. Without Kelly, she would still be Jack, a confused and depressed person, with no dreams or ambitions. It was Kelly who opened the door and pushed her through. She never would have even opened it without her. Now she was going to be almost 12 hours away from all these people. There would be no Kelly to come home to.
Jackie sighed.
Of course there was one more person.
****
Claire
Of all the people Jackie counted on as a friend and who knew the real Jackie, Claire was the most confusing. Jackie could never understand her.
Claire was bright, sophisticated, stylish, and refined. She was well respected and a pillar in her community. She was a grandmother who had traveled a hard road and built an amazing life. On top of that, she was compassionate and loving. She was attractive and had a figure any woman would want. Yet there was to Jackie just one thing about her she would never understand. She had a desire to have one-night stands with men let's say young men.
When Jackie tried to discuss it with her, Claire explained that it was just something she needed. The sex was just sex. It made her feel good, there were no strings attached, no emotional investment. She laughed when Jackie asked why young men, not men her own age.
"Why, Jackie, I'm surprised," Claire said with a grin, "Look at yourself. You're young and enthusiastic. You know this to be true. You love sex plus your recovery time is fantastic. Am I wrong?"
Jackie had to agree.
"With men my own age, they are polite and considerate lovers. I don't want that. Also you might get it to stand once instead of a one-night stand!" She laughed.
Still it bothered Jackie. She tried to recount the number of times she made love. It was just that. She felt that each time it was an expression of some feeling, if not love then something besides mindless sex. She did think that others might find her hypocritical of Claire but she felt Claire was somehow wrong.
Jackie returned home from a day at work. She did another mid-week demonstration and was tired from it. Walking into the kitchen she found a note from Claire that she wouldn't be home until late and not to wait up. Jackie smiled and shook her head. It was Wednesday night; time for that once a month meeting. Jackie wondered who Claire would bring home tonight.
She decided to catch on her reading tonight. She had always been a voracious reading since she was young and it hadn't lessened, as she got older. She was still trying to nail down her thesis for her Master's but hadn't quite done it. She showered, threw on a robe, and settle in for the night.
She couldn't have been asleep for long when she heard Claire's car pull in. She listened for the sound of another car but heard nothing. Then there was shutting of just one car door. "That's odd," she thought.
Claire's footsteps could be heard ascending the stairs. She walked past Jackie's door, which was partially open, without saying a word. Jackie heard Claire shut her door.
After a few minutes, curiosity got the better of Jackie. She tiptoed over to Claire's door and knocked. "Claire, are you alright?" she asked.
There was no answer.
Jackie waited and since there was no reply, she turned to head back to her room.
"Jackie," Claire answered.
"Yes, Claire." Jackie slowly opened the door and snuck her head in.
Claire was seated, cross-legged, on the bed. She was dressed in her silk kimono, which was opened. The only light in the room came from a small lamp on the bedside table. She patted the bed. "Please, come sit with me. I know its late but..."
Jackie climbed up on the bed and sat across from her.
Claire reached over and caressed Jackie's leg. "You know I like you very much and told you how impressed I am with." Claire sighed, "I have a confession to make."
Jackie just smiled and said, "About what?"
"Last summer," Claire continued.
"Go on."
"Last summer," Claire began to explain, "I saw a very attractive young woman at my pool. I decided that my goal that summer was to get her into my bed. As the summer progressed, I got to know her much better. I found there was a lot more than a pretty face and body."
Jackie laughed, "A lot more."
Claire held up her hand. "Let me continue. You are smart, sweet, and great person. Anyway, I finally succeeded. I got you into my bed. And yes, there was more to you than I thought." Claire laughed. "But I also discovered that I cared for you. I really liked you. That the sex was much more."
"More than those one night stand?" Jackie asked.
"Yes, way more and then our conversation got me to thinking," Claire added, "What was I thinking? Maybe you were right. Not about finding an older man but looking for a little more meaning in what I was doing."
Jackie leaned forward and lightly kissed Claire on her lips. "There is a lot more to intimacy than sex." She gently pushed Claire back onto the bed. She brushed Claire's robe back and began nibbling on her neck. Claire sighed. "It is about trust," Jackie whispered, slowly moving downward. "It is about opening up, revealing one's self." She sucked on Claire's nipple causing Claire to arch her back, pushing her breast into Jackie's mouth. "It is letting one be vulnerable." Jackie continued to kiss her way down Claire's stomach. Each kiss drawing soft sighs and moans.
Jackie spread Claire's legs apart and placed her face close to her pussy. She could see Claire' wetness. Jackie lightly blew on Claire's pussy. Claire moaned, "Oh God!"
She placed her tongue on the swollen lips, wiggling it between them. Slowly she licked upward, tasting the sweetness. Claire could only groan from the feeling.
Jackie placed Claire's legs on her shoulder, opening her up even more, exposing her. As she continued, slowly teasing her, Jackie looked up to see Claire pinching and pulling on her nipples, eyes closed, moaning.
Many had told Jackie that she was amazing when it came to eating pussy. She didn't know why she was. Maybe it was because she enjoyed doing it. Maybe it was because she didn't have one herself. Whatever it was she was going to give Claire her best.
Claire was lost in a sexual haze. The sensations coming from Jackie's tongue were sending waves of pleasure through her. Slowly building, the feelings were taking her to new heights. It was as if her body had been craving this, as if something had been missing.
"Oh, baby," Claire called out, "Don't stop! So good! Fuck!"
When she came, Claire held Jackie's head in place, not wanting her to stop. Her toes curled and she lifted her head off the bed. "Oh God!" she screamed out.
As Claire relaxed, she removed her hands. Jackie lifted her head and watched Claire's pussy flex as if it needed more. She knew what it wanted, needed. She slid up and positioned her hard cock against the wet opening. With a single thrust, she entered Claire.
Claire's eyes flew open as she felt Jackie's cock fill her pussy. "Yes, baby, fuck me! Fuck me with your beautiful cock," she commanded.
Unlike the slow, teasing pace of before, Claire wrapped her legs around Jackie's waist and began fucking. This was pure lust that engulfed them. All that could be heard was the two women moaning and their bodies slapping together.
Claire looked into Jackie's face. "That's it, fuck me! Cum in my pussy! Fill me with your cum!" She was no longer the refined lady, she was a wanton woman consumed by lust.
"Oh fuck!" Jackie groaned, "I'm going to cum!"
"Cum for me, baby." Claire moved her hips faster.
Jackie could no longer hold back. "Oh God!" she cried out as her cock exploded inside Claire's pussy. She could feel it pumping her cum deep into her.
No words were spoken as Claire pulled the sheet over them. Both were covered with sweat but neither cared. It was well worth it.
Jackie made love to Claire twice more that night. As she finished the third time, Claire collapsed on top of Jackie. Smiling and content, she joked, "Now you can understand why I like younger people!"
As Jackie left Claire's house to head home, Claire stood by the car. "I want to thank you, Jackie, for everything. Sometimes it takes a while for us older people to realize that you younger folk might be right."
Jackie hugged her. "You know, sometimes we all want to dream like a young person with the wisdom of an older one. It's me who learned so much from you."
"I know you are worried about being so far away," Claire said not letting go, "I know you will do a great job. You are smart, confidant, and most of all, you are tough. You will see."
Jackie stepped back. "I hope so."
Claire reached over and wiped a tear from Jackie's eye. "I will see you in January." She kissed Jackie on the cheek.

At Her Parent's House
Jackie was amazed how much things had changed at home. It was as if a dark cloud had been lifted from it. She wondered how it came about. Her mom and dad seemed much more loving of one another and happier. Maybe it was the financial burden of not having to worry about paying for two children in college? With Rachel out and she having a full scholarship, it meant all their money could go for themselves. It had to be a relief.
One thing she did know, it changed how she viewed her home. She realized that she never felt comfortable there. She loved her parents but she spent a lot time in her room, buried in her books, and living her life day to day. She guessed she was just going through the motions. When she left home to go to college, it was no big deal. People she knew said they were homesick and didn't like being away from home. Jackie never felt that way. College was just another place.
That Christmas it all came to a head. Her father basically threw her out and her mom took his side. Looking back, she was as low as she could have possibly be. They were asking her not to be herself but someone who fit in to their world. Give up what was right for her for what was right for them.
Somewhere in Jackie's journey, her mom and dad went on one of their own. They changed. It was slow but like that tortoise, they kept moving forward. Jackie knew that being accepted by her family was the final piece she needed.
And it wasn't just her family that changed and accepted her. Jackie understood that she had changed and not just physically. Her attitude had changed for the better. She was a nicer person to be with. More importantly, she viewed her parents differently. They were only doing what they thought best for her. She understood the sacrifices they made for their children. Perhaps it was she who made the bigger strides.
It certainly was different this time leaving home. It was harder than ever. She took off work at the Park so she could spend time with her folks then a few days with Kelly before she left. While home, she found herself wanting to be with her mom, her dad, or both of them all the time. They shopped together, ate all meals together, and just hung out.
"Rachel told us she had a great time when you visited," her mom said, "I guess you met her boyfriend. How is he?"
"He's great, mom. He's an animal doctor, a rather important one," Jackie answered. "He's very nice and he is wild about Rachel. He treats her very well."
"They are coming here the weekend after Labor Day," her dad said rising from his seat and heading towards the kitchen. "Can I get you two anything? Mary? Jackie, another beer?"
"I'm good, Dad," Jackie replied.
Her mom looked around and leaned closer. "Your dad is worried about you, being so far away from home. He was very concerned about your car."
Jackie rested her hand on her mom's. "I'll be ok. I can handle it plus Williamsburg and the college have it all figured out."
"I know and I told him you were a big girl who can handle it." She looked around again. "To tell the truth, I'm a little worried too."
"Aw, mom, I'll be fine. Really. For one thing I'm going to be busy. No time to get in trouble."
"Who's in trouble?" her dad asked entering the porch.
"No one, dear, Jackie was just telling about all the things she will be doing in Williamsburg."
"Good, now you call us when you leave and when you get there. I don't want you to worry your mother. You know how she gets," her dad said with a smile.
As Jackie sat in her car holding back her tears, she realized she that she was lucky to have such parents. She glanced in the rear view mirror as she backed away. For the first time she saw the St. Christopher medal hanging from it. She smiled, knowing that everything was going to be all right.

With Kelly
Jackie arrived at Kelly's Friday afternoon. The plan was to stay over night until Sunday then leave early in the morning.
"How early do you plan on leaving?" Kelly asked as they walked to the house.
"No later than 4AM," Jackie replied.
"Holy fuck, sweetie," Kelly excitedly answered, "That doesn't give us much time!"
"I know but I have to be there by 6PM to get my apartment and move in. Classes start Tuesday but I figure that would give me a day to get organized. Sorry."
Kelly gave her a little pout. "We'll just have to make the most of it."
Kylie greeted her at the door. "So you ready for your big adventure?"
"I better be. Its too late to back out now." Jackie gave a nervous little laugh.
"You'll do fine. We're having lobster tonight. A real New England meal! Angie is going to pick them up later. She's at work," Kylie said leading the two girls to the back deck.
It was a late summer day, just perfect for sitting out in the afternoon sun. Kylie poured each girl a glass of wine and settled in the cozy chair. "Do you have everything you need?" she asked.
"I hope so." Jackie said with a smile, "If I don't, it is a long drive back to get it!"
"Tell me again what exactly are you doing," Kylie inquired.
Jackie set her wine glass down and began. "It is a program set up by the college with Colonial Williamsburg and William & Mary. Some lucky history major, me," she laughed, "gets to take classes at William & Mary and then work at Colonial Williamsburg for the semester."
"How many classes?"
"I understand four or five," Jackie continued, "I'm not sure what each one is but one is archeology. I go to class Monday through Thursday in the morning then work at the village the rest of the day plus weekends."
"Wow!" Kelly spoke up. "You'll be busy."
"Yes and I think that will be a good thing, if you know what I mean."
Kelly smiled and nodded.
"What will you be doing at Williamsburg?" Kylie asked.
"It sounds like numerous things. One thing they want is for me to portray a typical colonial New England woman. I do know that they want a presentation on one of those women, Abigail Adams, Mercy Otis Warren and others."
"No Southern belles?" Kelly asked.
"No!" Jackie laughed, "Could you picture me as one?"
Kelly smiled back and said softly, "Yes, I could, sweetie."
"Well, shut my mouth," Jackie said in a long southern drawl.
"On second thought," Kelly laughed, "Maybe not!"
Kylie laughed too. "Anyway, you'll do fine. Just stay away from that accent!"
The four women sat on the deck and enjoyed a good old NE lobster fest. Angie bought six lobsters and they boiled them to perfection. Kylie made some salad but they barely touched it. Instead it was lobster and melted butter to the max. It was all anyone could ask for.
The conversation was light and had plenty of laughter. Maybe it was the wine but it also could have been the company. Jackie sat back in her chair, taking a break from eating and looked around at the other three. She realized she was pretty lucky. It was as if she had two families; her mom and dad in New Hampshire and this one on the Cape. In each one she felt loved and accepted.
After cleaning up after dinner, Angie and Kylie left the two girls alone. Jackie and Kelly sat together quietly holding hands, taking in the sunset. Jackie sighed.
"You know, Kel, I feel really blessed," she looking ahead, "So much has happened in the past three years to me and I owe it all to you and your family. I don't think I would be where I am today without you and your moms. Thank you."
"Don't thank me, sweetie," Kelly answered, "You just needed a little push to see who you really are, that's all. I just pushed you."
"I don't understand how you knew to push me but I guess you knew what I needed. You have always been there for me and now you won't be."
"I will always be for you, sweetie." Kelly said putting her hands on Jackie's shoulders and looking at her.
"I know that but not physically and I need that too," Jackie said softly. "Not just the sex, I need to touch you, to feel your arms around me. It is comforting."
"Are you worried about us being so far apart for so long?" Kelly asked.
"Yes. At times I feel so adrift, confused and then you bring me focus. I sometimes love that men find me attractive and fun to be with. It verifies me as a woman but with you, you verify me as person. That's more important. I never want to lose that." She paused. "Or you."
"Sweetie, if it makes you feel any better, I worry about that too," Kelly began, "But think about this as a test. We might discover new things about ourselves. It has been a crazy three years with lots of changes. Perhaps too many. We have to see if we can pass this test but I just want to let you know I will do everything I can to make sure we do." She hugged Jackie. "Now let's get comfortable, so to say."
"I'm worried about the two girls," Angie said climbing into bed next to Kylie.
"Worried about what?" Kylie replied rolling over to face her.
"I'm worried about this long separation," Angie explained, "I think it is obvious that they really care about one another but this might put a strain on their relationship. It is the first time they have been this far apart. You have to admit with all they been going through with Jackie, it might be hard."
"You handled my changing, babe," Kylie said sitting up.
"That was different, Ky." Angie sat up too. "We lived together for sometime before that, boyfriend, girlfriend. We were a little older too. Jackie is taking hormones and she told you herself she is beginning to look at men. We didn't have that."
"I know." There was concern in Kylie's voice. "I know Jackie struggles at times but I also know she cares deeply about Kelly. Kelly cares about Jackie too. I think this might be necessary for the both of them, just to see what they might have together. Or not. I do think they both need this, no matter how it turns out."
"I feel Jackie has become part of our family, a second daughter," Angie confessed.
"I do too," Kylie nodded in agreement. "We'll just have wait and see. Night, Babe." She kissed Angie and slid underneath the covers. As she did, she sighed. She was worried too.
Entering the bedroom, both girls were eager. The door was barely closed when Kelly pushed Jackie against the wall and began kissing her. Jackie's lips parted and greedily took Kelly's tongue into her mouth. Her hands pulled Kelly's t-shirt up over her head as Kelly did the same to her. Both moved quickly, pushing the other's shorts down and stepping out of them. Kelly ground her pelvis against Jackie, feeling Jackie's cock grow hard against her pussy. Her hand grasped it, feeling it through the fabric, causing Jackie to groan around Kelly's tongue.
"I wanted this for so long," Kelly moaned, kissing her way down to Jackie's breasts. Finding the nipple erect she sucked on it.
"Oh fuck," Jackie sighed. "It's been too long."
As she continued to suck, she slid her hand under the waistband of Jackie's panties and pushed them off her. Her cock, now hard and erect, sprung forth. She began to stroke it causing Jackie's knees to slightly buckle. Still stroking it, Kelly dropped to her knees.
She squeezed the head and small drop of pre-cum appeared. Before it could drip, she flicked her tongue and tasted it. The taste sent a tiny shiver through her body. Savoring the taste, she placed her mouth over the erection and engulfed it. She gave Jackie no time to react as she took the entire length in her mouth and began to suck on it.
Jackie's hips began to move in unison with each movement of Kelly's. Kelly did not let up, sucking harder and faster.
"Oh fuck, babe, slow down," Jackie begged but Kelly paid her no attention.
Kelly could feel Jackie tense up and she knew what to do next. She placed a finger on Jackie's asshole, circling it and pushing against it. She could feel her asshole yield. She pressed harder. Jackie's asshole opened.
"Oh God yes!" Jackie exclaimed, "Fuck!" She placed her hands on Kelly's head and pushed her cock into Kelly's mouth. Her cock exploded into Kelly's mouth causing Jackie to see stars. "Fuck, baby, fuck!"
Kelly took all of Jackie's cum into her mouth but instead of swallowing she quickly stood up. She kissed Jackie hard, pushing her tongue and cum into Jackie's mouth. Jackie greedily took it.
Giving it to Jackie, Kelly stepped back and fell onto the bed. She spread her legs and pulled her knees up, revealing a large wet spot on her panties. "Eat me!" she commanded Jackie.
Jackie crawled between Kelly's legs and placed her face inches from her crotch. She pressed her nose against the fabric and inhaled. The scent was exquisite. She inhaled again. Rocking back, she hooked Kelly's panties with her fingers. Kelly lifted her hips making it easier for Jackie to remove them. As she did, she could see Kelly's pussy wet and swollen, begging to be eaten.
"God!" Jackie said to herself, "Her pussy is beautiful!"
Jackie loved eating pussy especially Kelly's. As she moved closer, she thought she might do it like Kelly did her, fast and hard. Instead she decided not to. She got almost as much satisfaction giving as Kelly got receiving. No, tonight she was going to make Kelly beg her to stop.
She placed her the tip of her tongue just below the opening and began to lick upward, enjoying the taste of Kelly's wetness. She held the lips apart, leaving Kelly exposed. Her tongue found Kelly's clit hard and erect as she swirled her tongue around it. She worked her way back down. Reaching the opening she stuck her tongue inside. Going as deep as she could, she curled her tongue, scooping out more of Kelly's juices.
Kelly gave out a long low moan as her wetness ran from her pussy between her cheeks.
Jackie had no idea how long she had been at it. She deliberately avoid directly touching Kelly's clit. As she moved ever so close. Kelly would arch her back and raise hips, encouraging Jackie to touch it.
Kelly had lost track of time also. She also lost track of the times she had cum. They were small and short but each grew more intense. She needed a big one but Jackie was teasing her.
Jackie sensed it was time to push Kelly over the edge. She inserted two fingers deep in Kelly's pussy. Finding that special spot, she began to massage it. Then she wrapped her lips around Kelly's clit, fully surrounding it, and began to suck.
It took only a few moments.
Kelly screamed, "Oh my fuck'n God!" She raised her head off the bed. "I'm going to cum! Fuck!" Her pussy clamped around Jackie's fingers and her hands held Jackie's head in place.
"Fuck!" she yelled as her pussy squirted, flooding Jackie's face and the bed. "Oh God, yes!"
Kelly collapsed back onto the bed. She pushed Jackie's head aside. "Stop, oh stop," she begged," No more."
Jackie raised her head. Her face wet and shiny from Kelly's cum. She moved up and began to kiss her. Kelly could taste her cum on Jackie's kiss and began to lick her face, trying to get all of it.
Jackie's cock had recovered and was now hard and twitching. The tip dripped pre-cum adding to the large wet spot on the sheets. Jackie moved, positioning the head at Kelly's opening. It was so wet that Jackie needed none of her own lubrication to enter. She pushed and easily slid in. Kelly moaning as Jackie's cock filled her.
"Yes, fuck me, sweetie, fuck me good."
Kelly's pussy tightly gripped Jackie's cock. With the warmth and wetness it felt like a velvet glove around it. Each stroke felt exquisite. Jackie moaned as she moved faster. She had already cum once but she could feel a second one building.
Kelly threw her legs around Jackie' waist pulling her deeper.
"Oh sweetie, it feels so good, don't stop," she cooed. She looked into Jackie's face and could see Jackie was getting close. "That's it, cum for me."
Jackie began to move faster. Each stroke was longer and deeper. The feeling grew stronger. "Oh fuck," she groaned.
"That's it, fill my pussy!"
Jackie gave one final push. "Oh God!" she cried out. "I'm cumming!"
Kelly held her close and kissed her forehead. "That's a good girl."
Jackie lay next to Kelly as they both caught their breath. She felt the wet spot as she moved her leg and laughed. "We made quite a mess, didn't we?"
"Yes, we did," Kelly said joining in, "I don't think I've ever squirted that much! You are so good."
"I think we better clean up," Jackie said sitting up.
"Let's strip the bed and then take a shower." Kelly reached over and grabbed Jackie's cock. "That should give you time to recover."

The Next Day
Kelly was true to her word as they make love once more before falling into a deep contented sleep.
Jackie awoke feeling Kelly's hands on her cock. A little dazed on not being awake, it took her a few seconds to realize what Kelly was doing. "Hey, cut it out. Stop it!"
"What?" Kelly said, continuing, "I thought you might need this since you and I are going to be apart for so long."
Jackie swatted Kelly's hand away and jumped up. "Are you serious? I don't need any cock cage!"
"Really?" Kelly laughed.
"Maybe we should get you one of those chastity belt instead!" Jackie's voice betrayed how angry she was.
Kelly stepped towards Jackie. "I'm sorry," she said apologizing, "I thought it would be funny but I was wrong. I didn't mean to upset you. Honest."
"I know," Jackie said, settling down, "I just don't think it is funny. I'm worried about that."
"I get it, sweetie," Kelly replied putting her arm around her, "I was just trying to lighten the mood. I have an idea. It is suppose to be a great day. Let's go to beach and relax, just you and I."
Jackie smiled. "Now that's a better idea."
"Are you sure you don't want to come with us?" Kylie asked, "Lunch is my treat."
"No, mom that's ok. You and Angie go," Kelly answered, "Jackie and I are going hang out here for a bit then go to the beach. Get some final rays of the sun."
"Ok, but remember we are going out for dinner at 6."
"No problem." Kelly kissed her mom good-bye. "We'll be home in plenty of time."
Kelly headed out to the deck where Jackie was finishing up her tea.
"All set?" Jackie asked.
"Yup" Kelly replied pushing back Jackie's chair.
Jackie gave her a quizzical look.
Kelly straddled Jackie's lap and began to grind against it. She pushed hard on Jackie's cock.
"What's this all about?" Jackie smiled.
"No one is home and I want your cock in me!" Kelly reached down and pulled Jackie's cock from her panties. She pulled aside her own and began to rub the head over her pussy. It didn't take long for Jackie to respond. Kelly lifted herself up, positioned the now erect cock at her opening and lowered herself onto it. "Aahh," she sighed. "That's what I needed." She placed her hands on either side of Jackie's face and kissed her. "Now fuck me!"
Jackie couldn't actually fuck Kelly as Kelly controlled her movements. Kelly moved slowly up and down, changing her position as she determined how deep Jackie's cock went. At one point, she rose up, and took only the head in her pussy, sliding it in and out.
"Fuck, Kel, you are killing me!" Jackie groaned.
"Do you want me to stop, sweetie?" With that, she slid downward taking all of Jackie's cock into her. She started moving faster.
"Oh fuck, don't stop!" Jackie moaned loudly.
Kelly was enjoying being in control. She wanted to make it last, knowing Jackie did too. It was moments like this that she wanted a long, relaxing fuck. "It feels good, doesn't it, sweetie?" Kelly looked directly at Jackie and smiled.
She began moving a little faster, increasing her speed as the feeling began to spread from her pussy outward. She knew this one was going to be good.
"I want you to cum with me, cum together," she said breathlessly. "I'm getting close."
Jackie closed her eyes and concentrated. She too was getting close but she fought the feeling, wanting to hold back. Ever since taking a larger dose of hormones, she ejaculated less. It didn't change the intensity, just the amount. After cumming 4 times last night, she wasn't sure how much she had left.
"I'm, almost, there, sweetie!" Kelly gasped, "I'm, goin, to, cum!"
Jackie was there too. She put her hands on Kelly's hips and held on.
"Oh God! Yes!" Kelly exclaiming, "Cum in me, sweetie! Fuck!"
Jackie relaxed. She held Kelly on her lap and came deep inside her. She didn't cum much but it was deeply satisfying. As Kelly came, she collapsed on Jackie's chest, softly moaning. Jackie held her tight.
Jackie laid on the blanket soaking up the warm sunrays. It was one of those days of summer in New England and it felt good. She had untied the strings on her bikini top to get the all over tan look. Kelly had put on the lotion but it wasn't really necessary. She had spent a lot of hours at Claire's pool, enjoying her free time. There she wore her tiniest bikini, but not today. It was funny as Claire always was in the nude around the pool but Jackie could never feel that comfortable doing it. She wasn't sure why.
"I wish days like this would never end," Kelly sighed. "Just you and me on a quiet beach."
Since school was going to start in a few days, there were less and family on the Cape. Labor Day signaled the end of the season.
"So when do you start teaching?" Jackie asked.
"Monday and Tuesday are workshops and the kids start Wednesday," Kelly replied.
"What grades are you doing?"
"Half a year with middle schoolers and then half with the younger ones."
"Which ones do you like more?"
"I think I like the middle more. They might be a little tougher but you can do more with them. I think I might have an edge since I went to school there and know most of the teachers, including my cooperating teacher. They know my parents and I know some of the students from swimming," Kelly explained.
"Are you thinking about getting a job there?" Jackie inquired.
"I hope so. It would be nice." Kelly rolled onto her stomach. "You still thinking about getting your Master's and working for the Park?"
"That's the plan." Jackie pushed herself up on her elbows. "For now."
"What do you mean, for now?" Kelly said, pushing herself up.
Jackie rolled over and sat up. She pulled her knees up and folded her arms across her chest. "I didn't tell you this, just because it is only a possibility. If things go really well, I might be offered a position at Williamsburg and I would get my Master's from William & Mary. It is only a possibility."
Kelly sat up quickly. "Really? That would mean...?"
"Yes." Jackie turned to face Kelly. "It is only a possibility. They have to be impressed with me. I have to do a great job and get great grades. They have to offer it to me and finally I have to say yes. There is a lot that has to happen."
"Ok, let's be serious here," Kelly leaned back. "First you will get great grades. Second you will do a great job because that is who you are. Third if they are not impressed with you then they are poor judges of people. That narrows it down quite a bit."
Jackie was quiet for a moment. When she spoke she looked Kelly directly in the face. She took Kelly's hands in hers. "It would mean we would be apart. I'm not sure about that."
"Look, sweetie, that's what we will find out this semester. We'll figure it out, come what may."
Jackie flopped back on the blanket. "I don't know if this was a good idea, going to Virginia."
Kelly dropped next to her and placed her arm across Jackie's chest. "Don't say that. This is a great opportunity for you and you can't miss that, sweetie. It will work out."
"I hope so."
Dinner, as usual, was fantastic. Kylie took them to the usual restaurant by the canal where the food and drinks were outstanding. It was always fun to see the number of people who stopped by to greet either Kylie or Angie. Between the two of them it seemed they knew everyone. The manager dropped over to see if everything was fine. When Kylie told it was a special occasion, he personally brought over a bottle of champagne so they could celebrate.
"I'm not sure I like this," Jackie said making a face.
"It's an acquired taste," Angie said, "You never know when you'll be at some gala event and that will be all they serve."
"Hopefully, it won't be soon!" Jackie said with a laugh.
They stayed longer than planned but it was such a beautiful evening it was a shame to go home. When they got home, each changed into comfortable clothing, which meant an oversize shirt and panties. They sat on the deck, three of them drinking coffee while Jackie sipped her tea.
"You still don't like coffee, do you?" Kylie joked.
"It's an acquired taste beside a proper English woman would never drink coffee," Jackie replied.
"I thought we tossed all the tea into Boston Harbor," Kelly answered.
"Not all of it, I guess," Angie added.
Jackie smiled. She looked around. Here were four women relaxing, talking, and laughing, barely dressed, totally enjoying the warm night together. "How could it get any better?"
Kelly pulled back the covers to reveal her naked body. It was an open invitation.
As Jackie climbed in she softly asked, "Can we just snuggle tonight?"
Kelly put her arm around Jackie and pulled her close. Spooning up tight, she kissed Jackie on the back of the neck. "Anything you want, sweetie."
As Kylie left the bathroom she noticed a light on in the living room. She grabbed her robe and wrapping it around her, she went downstairs. She found Jackie curled up on the couch, reading a book.
"Can't sleep?" Kylie asked, "Excited about your adventure?"
Jackie put down the book, "I guess so."
"There is more, isn't there? I can tell." Kylie sat down next to her.
"I don't know," Jackie began, "I don't know if I can do this."
"Of course you can," Kylie explained, "You have done wonderful things. I understand you have created programs for the National Parks. Chrissy told me all about them. Kelly said you earned an award plus held your own with a US senator. You'll do great."
"I'm not sure. I'm really worried. This is the first I will be alone and so far from home." She paused. "You know, like..."
"You can't be worried about that." Kylie put her arm around Jackie and pull her close. "You have come a very long way in such a short time. No one knows you there. All they will see is a bright young woman doing some great work. Trust me, you'll be fine."
Jackie snuggled closer and sighed. "I wish I could be like you. So confident and sure of yourself. You can do anything."
Kylie laughed. "Are you talking about me? Look, I've been doing this a lot longer than you and to be honest, you are way farther along than I was at your age. Heck, I was still Cary then. You should be very proud of yourself. I know I am."
Jackie said nothing.
"There's more, isn't there?" Kylie asked.
Jackie took a deep breath. "I'm worried about Kelly and me. We have been together through all this and she has always there. Now we'll be so far apart."
"And?"
Jackie turned herself around and faced Kylie. "I'm not sure how I feel about her. I know I don't want to lose her but lately... I'm confused."
"About what, sweetie?"
"I told you that the doctor increased the estrogen I'm taking, not too much. She explained that it was most likely rewiring my brain." The words spilled out. "I met a doctor, a man, when I was over in New York. I think he liked me and wanted to continue meeting me. It made me feel ready good to be with him and a part of me wanted to continue. We kissed and it was exciting. I wanted more. I find myself thinking about men."
"And you are worried that you might meet a man you really like?" Kylie asked. "Then what?"
"I don't know," Jackie continued, "Then what about Kelly? She is great, attractive, smart, and caring. What if she decides she wants a real man? I'm sure she would have no problems getting one. I can't really imagine all she goes through living with someone like me?"
Kylie thought for a moment. She realized what she said next was going to be important. "Sweetie, we all have doubts. I wonder about Angie. We have been together almost 25 years yet there are times I worried if she is happy with me and if she rather have someone else. In one way, I'm lucky; I don't take too many hormones so I don't have those thoughts. Then again, I don't have the natural body you have. I'll be honest, I've seen you naked and I get a little jealous. You can't worry about what might happen and let it ruin your good times. We will just have to see what will happen."
Jackie snuggled up close. "You're the best, Kylie. Thank you."
Kylie pulled the blanket from the back of the couch. She put it over them. "Now go to sleep. You have a long drive in front of you."

The Great Adventure Begins
Leaving Kelly and her moms was just as hard as leaving her parents, at least as far as tears went. Jackie did as she promised. She texted updates to them and her parents and even called when she got lunch. It was big step but talking to Kylie, as usual, made Jackie see things a little clearer.
Jackie pulled into the parking space in front of condo. She followed the GPS without any problems. There she found a woman about 30 waiting for her.
"Hello, you must be Jackie Morgan," the woman said extending her hand. "I'm Allison Cook, head of housing. You are right on time. Long drive?"
"Pleased to meet you and yes, it was," Jackie answered.
Allison unlocked the front door. "Here you go. It is fully furnished but feel free to add your own touches." Allison handed Jackie the key. "It's all yours. I put a list of important places for you, grocery stores, restaurants, and other shopping places, on the kitchen table with a map. My number is on a magnet on the fridge. Call me if you need help or a problem arises, like the bathroom. There is also a map of the campus and Colonial Williamsburg on the table. I bet you are anxious to get settled."
Jackie looked around the apartment. It looked nice with plenty of room for her things. She took a deep breath. "Time to get started, girl!"
It was a lot like Rachel's and Dean's though a little smaller with no Jacuzzi on the back deck. It was an end apartment with Jackie liked. "Only one neighbor" It had two floors with the kitchen and living room and a second floor with a bedroom and bathroom. As Jackie looked into the bedroom she saw a double bed. Inwardly she groaned. "That's going to be awfully big for just one!"
There was one other room that overlooked the parking area.
"I thought you could use this as a study area," Allison said, "If you want, I could get a second bed. It is up to you."
"No, this is fine," Jackie answered. She couldn't think of any reason she would need one. "Thanks, anyway."
"Ok, then, Jackie, I'll be on my way. Please don't hesitate to call me if you need anything."
Jackie looked at her watch. She had made good time and she was anxious to get settled in. She had brought some basic groceries but she felt she should get more. She took the groceries from the car and placed the bags on the table. Looking at the list Allison provided, she decided to go get some more things. She could even grab something to eat.
When she returned, she sat in the car for a few minutes. She thought about everything she needed to do. Put away the groceries, bring in her stuff and organized the apartment were top of the list. Plan for tomorrow; 3 meetings, one with her advisor, one with the director of the program and a final one with her boss at Williamsburg. Right then and there she decided she needed a big calendar and daily planner to keep everything straight. And call Kelly. She had already texted her that she arrived safely but she needed to talk with her, just to hear her voice. She took a deep breath. "Here goes nothing," she said out loud.
Jackie put all her groceries away, filling the cabinets and the fridge. She silently thanked her mom who reminded her to take some dishes and pots. She laughed to herself as she hung up the broom and dustpan. That was her dad's idea.
She headed back to the car to unload the rest. There wasn't one square inch of space not used in the car. Her dad helped her pack it and now she wished he were here to help. She popped open the hatch and stared. "It isn't going to move itself!" she said to herself.
As she stood there, thinking about her next move, she heard a pleasant voice from behind. "Hi there. Need any help?" the voice said.
Jackie turned to see two young co-eds standing there. They were about Jackie's age and most likely seniors. One was a small blonde with large breasts and the other had the most gorgeous skin tone Jackie had ever seen. She could only describe it has mocha coloring. Her green eyes seemed to sparkle and when she smiled, it was like a flash of brilliance. Wearing a white William & Mary t-shirt and cut-off shorts, her figure only added to the picture.
"Oh, hi," Jackie mumbled. Composing herself, she continued, "Just trying to figure out where all of this is going to go."
"Maybe we can help," the blonde said, "I'm Amber and this is Tiffany."
"Hi, I'm Jackie."
"Ok, Jackie, let's see what we can do."
The three girls worked together and were able to get everything into the apartment. It was hot work and by the end each was perspiring heavily.
"Thank you so much," Jackie said, "I don't have much to offer you in the way of a cold drink. I just put things in the fridge and I don't think they're cold yet."
"No problem," Amber said, "I'll be right back." She headed out the door towards her apartment.
This left Tiffany and Jackie standing in the kitchen. There was an awkward pause and then Tiffany asked, "Where are you from? With that accent, you are not from around here."
Jackie laughed. "Is it that obvious? I'm from New Hampshire."
"A real Northerner!" Tiffany laughed, "I'm from Richmond. What brings you here? I assume you are a senior. Everyone in this complex is one or doing post grad work."
Amber returned with a bottle of wine. "I hope you don't mind, I brought a wine."
"No problem, I get the glasses," Jackie answered turning to the cabinet and taking out three glasses.
"Guess what, Amber," Tiffany said taking a now filled glass. "Jackie is a real live Northerner!"
"A Yankee!" Amber exclaimed.
"Guilty as charged I'm afraid," Jackie confessed.
"I'm from Greensboro, North Carolina," Amber explained, "We'll have to introduce you to our friends. I bet they would be interested in meeting a real live Yankee!" Amber and Tiffany both laughed. "So what brings you here?"
Jackie told them all about the program she was involved in and what she was going to do while here. Amber was a political science major and worked as an intern for one of Virginia's reps in Congress this summer. She hoped to be able to get a job there or with luck maybe with the governor.
Jackie told her about how she knew Senator Buchanan and how she was offered a position with the senator if she wanted it. Amber was quite impressed.
It was Tiffany who impressed Jackie. She was pre-law and had worked at the Supreme Court in DC. Amber added that Tiffany was one of the top students in her class, which impressed Jackie even more. Jackie thought, "So there are brains to go with all that beauty!"
"It worked out great for us," Tiffany said, "We found an apartment in Georgetown so we were able to live together, like now." There was something about how she said live together that sounded interesting.
"That's sounds wonderful," Jackie said, "I live at school with my girlfriend back in Massachusetts. She is student teaching now and living with parents. We'll get back together in the spring." She took a sip of wine. "It is going to be odd not having someone here with me." She looked over her glass to catch their reaction. She noticed that Amber gave Tiffany a quick glance.
"I know classes don't start until Tuesday but I have to meet with a number of people tomorrow. I'm not even sure where I'm going but I have a map of campus to start with," Jackie finishing her wine. "I owe you a bottle."
"No problem," Amber said, "I'm sure we'll have plenty of opportunities in the future.
After they left, Jackie took a quick shower. Sliding under the cool, clean sheets felt heavenly on her naked body. She grabbed her phone and called Kelly. The bed felt empty without her.

Meetings
The first meeting of the day was with her advisor. Jackie decided to take Dr. Robinson's advise and "Dress for Success." She wore a plain white blouse with a charcoal gray pencil skirt. Black stockings and black two inch heels rounded out her look. She put on just a hint of make-up, just enough to add color to and soften her features. She unbuttoned the top two buttons to show off just a bit of cleavage. Of course she had her blue glass bobble necklace on, just for luck.
On her way out, she glanced in the mirror. Even she was impressed. She remembered those early days of trying to apply makeup and how she needed Kelly's help to get it right. Not any more as she learned her lessons well.
The secretary ushered Jackie into the office. "Dr. Martin, Miss Morgan is here to see you." Dr. Martin rose from behind her desk.
"Miss Morgan, I am very glad to finally meet you," she said gesturing towards a chair. "We have spoke on the phone before but I wanted to meet you, face to face. Have a seat."
Dr. Denise Martin was about Jackie's height and appeared to be about the same age as Kylie, perhaps a little older. Her brown hair, parted in the middle and shoulder length had a sprinkling of gray. A pair of glasses framed her brown eyes. She was dressed in an oxford shirt and blue jeans.
"Excuse the mess," she said apologizing. "I'm not ready for classes to start yet," she said with smile. "Also I don't usually dress this casual."
"That's quite all right," Jackie replied.
Already Dr. Martin was impressed with what she saw. After reading Jackie's resume and the recommendations of others, she began to wonder if this person was too good to be true. Seeing Jackie seated in front of her for the first time, it was quite likely what people said was true.
They discussed Jackie's schedule of classes. She was taking 5 classes, two on Monday and Wednesday and two on Tuesday and Thursday. She was also taking a reading class, one on one with Dr. Martin on the Hanover kings of England. That class would meet once a week.
"All your classes are upper level including the archeological class. Oh and a lower level class with Dr. Moon. I discussed you being in his class and he was very excited about it. The class is "Women and early colonial history in America." He was hoping you could provide insights and thoughts in it. He admitted he had a weakness in his studies on women of New England. What do you think?"
"I'm very excited about all of this," Jackie confessed. "I just hope that I'm able to meet the expectations of the program."
"Well, I'm confident you can. Dr. Lang of the Park Service spoke glowingly of you and even sent some samples of your work. Quite impressive for one so young. You are the first in our program and we are looking forward to continuing it in the future. There may be some hiccups but I'm sure we can smooth things out. With that in mind, I want you to be as candid as possible and not be afraid to speak up. Oh, I almost forgot. Once a month, you're going to meet with myself and others to discuss how things are progressing. I want you to be as honest as possible in those meetings." Dr. Martin stood and extended her hand. "I'm quite sure that things will go well and you will do a great job!"
As Jackie left, Dr. Martin walked her to the door. She then turned to her secretary. "What do you think? First impressions?"
"I think we have a keeper, Denise," the secretary replied.
Jackie's next meeting was with Dr. Taylor. He was her liaison between the College and Colonial Williamsburg. Despite Dr. Martin talking about her program, it was Dr. Taylor who was in charge.
She checked the number on the piece of paper in her hand against the one over the door. It was a match and since the door was open, she leaned in and knocked. She waited a few moments and knocked again. "Hello, Dr. Taylor?"
There was a loud bang, and crash, which was followed by a string of obscenities.
Jackie rushed towards the sounds. She found Dr. Taylor hopping around holding his leg. "Are you all right?" she said with concern in her voice.
"Yes, yes," he grimaced, "Damn desk drawer!" He paused. "And you are?"
"Jackie Morgan, I have an appointment with you."
Dr. Taylor straightened out. "Oh yes, sorry about the greeting. I was expecting you. My secretary is running an errand. Please come in." He pointed to the chair in front of the desk.
Jackie sat down. She had talked to Dr. Henry Taylor once on the phone and tried to get a picture of him in her mind. She was far off.
Dr. Taylor stood about 6' feet tall and looked to be about 40. His hair was black, without any gray and reached his collar. He was well built but not muscular. What caught Jackie's attention were his eyes. They were a deep blue but most of all they appeared special. Jackie felt they were soft and caring, something she had not experienced or expected from a professor. She quickly remembered a line from an old movie, 'he had puppy dog eyes.'
"Well, Miss Morgan, I am very pleased to finally meet you," he said, "even though I feel I have already met you."
Jackie was confused. "I don't understand, sir."
"First thing, don't call me sir. Dr. Taylor or professor, but not sir. Second, my daughter has told me all about you."
"Your daughter?" Jackie asked, still confused.
"My daughter is Wendy Taylor. You two have been emailing each other all summer. She has told me all about you. So much, I think I already know you. I must say my daughter is already impressed with you."
"Well, sir, err, Dr. Taylor, your daughter has been sending me some emails with some great questions. Some are very challenging," Jackie said.
"All I can say is that you lit a fire under her," Dr. Taylor explained, "She is a freshman here this term and she is planning to major in History. I would like to thank you for that."
Jackie blushed and mumbled, "You're welcome."
Dr. Taylor then began to explain the program, Jackie's part in it, and his. "I'm the connection between Williamsburg and the college, the middle man. I know you met Dr. Martin. She will report to me, as will you. I believe you have a meeting with Melissa Jackson this afternoon. She works for the village." He looked at his watch. "Do you like hot dogs?"
Jackie answered, "Yes" not sure where this was going.
"It's almost 12 and there is a great hot dog place not far from here. I would like to treat you to lunch. We can continue to talk on the way there."
Walking across campus together, Dr. Taylor asked Jackie some questions, just to get a sense of who she was. What Jackie discovered was that she found it very easy to talk to him. On first meeting people, Jackie found herself being friendly but reserved, hiding behind a wall. With Dr. Taylor, there was something that caused her to lower that wall a bit, not all the way but some.
"So, Jackie, I read your resume and looked at your transcripts. You seem to be totally immersed in pre-colonial and colonial America, is that right?"
"Yes, I find it fascinating plus it goes well with job at Lexington. That is one reason I'm here," Jackie answered.
"And the other?"
"I guess, I want to expand myself. I've never been further south than Philadelphia and I want to learn more. Southern women are so different than Northern ones yet their hopes and dreams must have been the same. Where else could I totally involve myself in their lives than here?"
Dr. Taylor smiled at her answer. It appeared they picked the right student. "I see you are taking my 'Presidents and their wars' class. That doesn't fit your interests?" he asked.
Jackie smiled. As she did, he realized how attractive this young lady was. The thought bothered him. Dr. Taylor was very popular with his students. Warm, helpful, and friendly, he kept a barrier of correctness between himself and them. Now, with this new student, he found himself taking her to lunch, it was just hot dogs, but he found he was intrigued by her.
"It is the third reason, Doctor," Jackie continued, "I believe I need to push my interests, go into places I'm not comfortable with or know a lot about. Challenge myself, I guess. I can't stop at the end of the Revolution. Besides it is all connected."
Hank Taylor shook his head. "Wow," he thought, "There is a lot going on here with this young lady."
Dr. Taylor was right about the hot dogs. There were a huge variety of them to be had. Jackie kept it simply and ordered a chili cheese dog and a Coke. They found a table outside in the sun and sat down.
"My daughter has told me a lot about you and she was hoping to met you. If it is not too uncomfortable perhaps you could have dinner with us one night. Nothing formal, just we are having a BQ this Saturday, friends and family. What do you think? I know my daughter wouldn't abject."
"I'm pretty sure I have nothing planned but I think I will have to figure out what they want me to do at Williamsburg. I have a meeting at 2 with Ms. Jackson," Jackie answered.
"Think it over. It's at 3 on Saturday."
"So far, so good," Jackie thought, "Everything was going well." She headed towards her next and final meeting. For a reason she couldn't explain, Dr. Taylor made her feel very comfortable and relaxed but there felt like more to it. She felt that way around Dr. Shaw and Dr. Rose but this was different. She liked Dr. Martin too but more in the way she felt about her two professors back home. It was a little unsettling.
Melissa Jackson got right to the point. "We are very informal here but very demanding with our standards. With your background and expertise, we want to bring in a New England woman's point of view. Maybe Abigail Adams to go with our Martha Washington. I picked you because I think you can do it so part of your evaluation is your public presentation, part of our Builders of America speakers. Can you do it?"
"Yes, I think I can," Jackie replied with confidence. "Ever since you notified I have been researching Mrs. Adams. I have picked up a lot about her."
"It is one thing to know a lot about her but can you stand on a stage in front of people and make her come alive?" Ms. Jackson said leaning across the table.
"There is only one way to find out," Jackie replied, "But yes, I can. I've talked to groups and schools about cooking in colonial times. This may be a little different but I'm sure I can do it."
Melissa smiled. "I like this girl!" she thought. "A few more things. I understand you have your own clothing. Can you bring it to our costume department tomorrow? They would like to see it. And get involved here with the people. Make friends. Join in." She stood up. "I would like to introduce to a few of the people you'll be working with. Come with me."

Settling In
Jackie stepped into her condo and took a deep breath. It had been a long day, maybe not time wise but certainly from the wealth of information she received. It was only 5 classes but between the work for each class and the work at Williamsburg, she was going to be busy. That might be a good thing because with all the work expected she wouldn't have time to feel down or lonely. She was definitely going to get involved as Ms. Jackson suggested.
She changed her clothes, getting rid of the blouse, skirt, and stockings and changed into a t-shirt and shorts. She chose her college t-shirt and made a mental note that she needed a William & Mary one. She put on her headphones and cranked up some 80s tunes as she headed to the kitchen. She had no idea what she was going to prepare for dinner but she knew she would be relaxing with a glass of wine.
She had her back to the door as she bent over to retrieve the wine when she was startled by a loud voice.
Tiffany had knocked on the door and got no answer. Noticing the door was unlocked, she opened it. She saw Jackie leaning over by the fridge and thought, "Nice ass!" She also saw that Jackie had headphones on and probably couldn't hear her. She yelled out, "Hey, Jackie!"
Jackie stood up quickly and spun around. "What the..." she exclaimed, almost dropping the bottle. "Damn, you frightened me!"
"Sorry, but I knew you couldn't hear me." Tiffany apologized. "Anyway, we would like to invite you to dinner. Nothing fancy, burgers and dogs. A group of us have this tradition that we start each year with a cookout and we thought you be interested."
"Sure, that sounds nice," Jackie answered, "Besides I have nothing planned for dinner."
"Good and bring the wine. Remember you owe us a bottle!"
There were two other girls at Tiffany's place when Jackie arrived. Along with Amber, there was Kristi and Mandy. Both girls stood close to 6" and had that athletic build that Jackie remembered Rachel having. They played on the basketball team together with Mandy being good enough to be looked by the WNBA.
"Hey, look who I brought over." Tiffany said by way of introduction. "Jackie, that's Kristi and the one pouring the wine is Mandy. Girls, this is our new neighbor, Jackie. Don't hold it against her but she's from New Hampshire!" Tiffany laughed as she handed Jackie a glass.
"New Hampshire?" Mandy said, "I played against a travel team from there when I was in high school. I think we play UNH this season."
"So what brings you to the sunny south?" Kristi asked.
"I'm in a work studies program between the college and Colonial Williamsburg," Jackie answered.
"A History major, right?" Mandy asked.
"Yes."
"Well, I'm pleased to meet you," Kristi said, "Glad you could join our little group."
The girls made Jackie feel right at home. The burgers were great and the wine flowed easily. As the evening progressed, the girls sat around the kitchen table and talked.
"You're a long way from home, Jackie," Amber said, "Did you leave a boyfriend behind? Or are you looking for a southern beau?" The girls laughed at the question.
"No boyfriend and I'm not looking either," Jackie replied.
"Good for you," Kristi said filling her glass. "Guys can be such jerks anyway, especially college guys. I mean, they can be good for something but usually..." The girls nodded
"Don't get us wrong, boys have their place. It's just times that we like girls better if you know what we mean," Tiffany said, "You ok with that?"
"I have no problem with that," Jackie replied honestly, "I've lived together with my girlfriend since my freshman year so what you do is fine with me."
"Ok, I guess we're good," Kristi said grabbing some chips.
"I do have one question though," Jackie said, "What do you think of older men?"
"Now you're talkin' girl," Amber said giving Jackie a hi-five.
With that, the girls began to tell stories and open up. By the time Jackie returned to her apartment, she felt like she made some friends. It was good start.

Getting Involved In Many Ways
Jackie found it quite ironic that one of books required for Dr. Moon's class on women in the American colonies was one entitled "Not so Puritan, Sex in New England before the Revolution." The author was Dr. Phyllis Robinson! Even better was the acknowledgements. There in glowing terms Dr. Robinson thanked her research assistant, Jacqueline Morgan, "who without her help and hard work, this work would never have been completed." She guessed Claire had more influence than she knew.
"Miss Morgan, may I see you a moment," Dr. Moon asked at the end of the class.
"Yes, Dr. Moon?" Jackie said, staying behind.
"Miss Morgan, I am very happy to see you are in my class," Dr. Moon began, "Dr. Taylor and Dr. Martin have told me all about you. I would like, from time to time, to meet with you after class, to discuss some things."
"I would be delighted, sir," Jackie replied happily.
"Good. Also I noticed your name in one of the books we are using. That is you, is it not?" Dr. Moon asked.
"Yes, it is. I did help Dr. Robinson on the research," Jackie replied.
"Excellent! Then I look forward to talking to you."
Jackie left the class and was met by three students. Two of the girls waited as the third one-stepped forward. She was vaguely familiar.
"Miss Morgan?" she asked, "I don't know if you remember me but we talked before."
Jackie thought for a moment. "Wendy? Wendy Taylor? Of course I remember you."
"Great," Wendy turned to her friends and waved them over. "This is Kailey and this is Cindy."
"Kailey, Cindy, pleased to meet you. Now what can I do for you?"
Wendy spoke first. "We're all freshmen, history majors, and we were wondering if you would mind helping us, form a study group, help with the reading, etc.?"
Jackie thought it over. She had a lot on her plate already but the look on the girls' faces convinced her. "Ok, how about once a week?"
"Great! I mean Thank you," Wendy gushed.
The other two girls walked away as Wendy called to them. "Wait outside I won't be a minute." She turned back to Jackie. "You are coming Saturday to our BQ, right? My dad said he invited you. I had told him he would like you and he said I was right. He was very impressed."
"Since you put it that way, I can't say no. 3 o'clock right?"
"Yes, see you there." She turned and hurried down the hall.
Dr. Taylor's class was very interesting and challenging. It was a new topic for Jackie and she needed to pay attention. Many of the students had taken Dr. Taylor before and most were interested in 19th and 20th Century America so they had an edge on her.
"So, Jackie, how is it going?" Dr. Taylor asked, walking over to her. "Everything fine?"
There was something about his manner than made Jackie comfortable. "I don't know. There is a lot to do. It is a little overwhelming right now."
"Come with me," he said heading for his office, "We'll talk. I want to know."
Jackie told him her concerns. How his class was the most difficult but she expected that. How working at Williamsburg might be trying but something she was sure she could do. She wasn't worried about doing any of it did just finding the time might be difficult.
"I see," Dr. Taylor said leaning back in his chair. "I read your transcripts. Your GPA is great. From your professors and bosses, they use words like bright, hard worker, diligent, outstanding work ethic. Knowing you just a week, I can see that. I noticed you even volunteered to form a study group with my daughter. I thank you for that. So I recommending you relax. Don't be so hard on yourself. You'll do great."
"Thank you," Jackie replied with a slight smile.
"Because of this," he said with a bright smile. "I'm giving you an extra assignment. You are to come to my BQ this Saturday. No excuses. You need to relax."
"You're the second person who told me I should attend!" Jackie laughed. "I'll be there. Thanks, Dr. Taylor."
As Jackie left, Hank Taylor leaned back in his chair. He had always taken an interest in his students. He helped with their courses and finding jobs. He felt that was his job as a teacher. He had always kept it correct and professional. Yet things felt different with this student. Was it because his daughter thought she was great and Jackie took the time to help her? Was because he noticed that Jackie appeared to be as passionate about history as he was? Or was it something different?
For the past three days Jackie had worked at Williamsburg. On Wednesday and Thursday she went there from 1-5 and on Friday she worked from 8-5. She was assigned to various people to shadow them. She was learning each job, not just to know them, but to become familiar with each one. She observed the many people who assumed first person roles and began to understanding how difficult it could be. She found out the second day.
She was standing next to Mrs. Washington, dressed in her colonial dress when a young girl asked her about cooking in a kitchen on such hot days. "It must be difficult without air conditioning," the girl said.
After the laughter died down, Mrs. Washington explained how the kitchens were detached from the house because of the heat and fear of fire. She added that she didn't cook; her slaves did most of it. Then to Jackie's surprise, she turned to Jackie. "We are in luck today. We have a visitor from the North with us today. New Hampshire, I believe. I think she can tell you how they do it in the colder climes."
Jackie panicked for a second and fell back onto her talks about Lexington. She kept it short and to the point. Her answer satisfied the young girl and led to a few more with she handled easily.
When the crowd broke up, Mrs. Washington looped her arm around Jackie. "Sorry, but I thought I give you a chance to get your feet wet. You did wonderfully."
"I think it was more like being tossed in the lake!" Jackie smiled. "I could feel the sweat running down my back!"
"I understand you'll be doing Mrs. Adams soon. I am so looking forward to it. Do you like to dance?"
"Yes, very much so," Jackie replied.
"Then come to Capital tonight. We have dance group, young and old. It will give you a chance to meet more people."
"Hey, Jackie, where are you going?" Amber yelled to her.
"I'm going to dance at the old Capital," she replied.
"Really? That doesn't sound like much fun. We are going out to party tonight, girl. Why don't you come along? It could be worth your time."
Jackie smiled. "Thank you but I'm not a really party girl. Besides I told someone I would be there. It is kind of part of what I have to do."
Amber stepped close. "I get it but all work and no play. You might need a little release, if you know what I mean."
"Thanks but some other time."
"Ok, I'm going to hold you to it," Amber said walking away.
There were about fifteen people at the Old Capital when Jackie arrived. Everyone was chatting and laughing as Mrs. Washington walked over to Jackie.
"I'm happy to see you came, Jackie," she said, "Let me introduce you to everyone."
"Thank you, Mrs. Washington," Jackie said politely.
Mrs. Washington laughed. "Oh my goodness, call me Martha.
"Martha?"
Martha laughed again. "That's my real name, Jackie, Martha Freedman. I know, a little weird." Martha turned to the group. "Attention, everyone, we have a new member tonight. This is Jackie Morgan. It will be our job to show her how Virginians dance."
Most of the group was Jackie's age or close to it. There were a few older people like Martha. Jackie had seen most of them around the village.
The first dance they did was the minuet, which Jackie had no idea how to do. She noticed that most of the group also didn't do. She was watching quietly as a man approached her. Standing next to her, she recognized him as the one who portrayed Alexander Hamilton.
"I saw you today with Mrs. Washington," he said, "You handled yourself quite well."
"Thank you," Jackie replied.
"By the way, I'm Josh."
"Pleased to meet you, Josh."
Josh appeared to be a little older than Jackie. A bit taller and slightly built he fit the picture Jackie formed in her mind of Hamilton.
"Do you know how to dance?" he asked.
"Yes, I used to dance with a group back home. I'm familiar with most of the colonial dance except that one." She nodded towards the dance floor.
"I can't master that one myself," Josh said, "Where is home?"
"New Hampshire," Jackie replied.
"As yes, that explains it."
"Explains what?" Jackie said a little defensively.
"Your accent," Josh said with a smile. "There was a rumor going around that the village brought in a genuine New Englander to play Mrs. Adams. I believe you're it."
"Well, I'm going to give it a try," Jackie replied.
"Don't hesitate to ask these people for help. This is my third year as Hamilton and they have been great to me," Josh explained.
"So am I correct in understanding that Mr. Hamilton is volunteering his services?" Jackie teased.
Josh hesitated for a moment and then smiled. "At your service, Mrs. Adams," he said stepping back. "Would you honor me with the next dance?"
"Most certainly, kind sir." Jackie laughed as she held out her hand.
Jackie had a great time. Martha was right about the friendliness of the people and she found herself fitting right in. She was able to show to the others that she knew how to dance the Virginia reel and other dances.
As the evening broke up, Josh asked if he could walk her to her car. As they walked, Josh told her a little about himself. He came from Maryland and had graduated from James Madison. He majored in history and, believe it or not, theater. He explained that his job here enabled him to pursue his two loves, history and acting. It was perfect for him.
"I meant what I said before, I would very much like to give you any assistance you may need," Josh said.
"As I understand, Mrs. Adams was not very fond of Mr. Hamilton," Jackie replied.
"Ah, yes, but perhaps we can change history."

The BQ
Jackie didn't talk to Kelly last night but she made sure to call her Saturday morning.
"Hey sweetie, it sounds like you're busy," Kelly said.
"Yes, I am. There is a lot to do. I don't know if I can do it all."
"Stop it. It is only week one. You'll settle in, have a plan and do it. Have faith in yourself. I do," Kelly said over the phone.
"Thanks," Jackie replied, "What I miss is not coming back to apartment and not having you to talk with, unwind with. Talking on the phone isn't the same. At least you have your moms."
"I know," Kelly agreed, "But it will be all right. It has only been one week."
Jackie was happy to be going to the Taylor's for the barbeque today. It was one of those hot humid Saturdays that occurred on the Virginia peninsula. She had worked until 1 and then went home to changes. Wearing wool and layers wasn't her idea of summer clothes. She showered and changed in a comfortable tank top and shorts. She made sure neither was too tight or revealing. This entire week she felt comfortable and confident about herself. She remembered Kylie's advice and decided to go with it. Besides she had been much too busy to worry about it.
Surprisingly, she hadn't felt horny at all. She missed Kelly's touch and her body but not in a sexual way. She laughed to herself. "Wait, it has only been a week!"
She had made a number of friends so far, both at the village and at school. She liked Amber and Tiffany and she understood the things they hinted, not too subtly, about. Joining the dance group added to her circle. She found Josh to be nice and willing to help her. At school, she met a few of her classmates but hadn't gotten to know many.
Then there was Wendy Taylor. It was clear that Wendy looked up to Jackie as a mentor. It was great to meet someone like her. It would make the class easier to take but have an older friend. She was excited to form a study group and talked with Jackie after every class. Wendy even pushed her to show up today, so much that Jackie couldn't say no.
"What harm can it be?" Jackie thought, "It might be fun!"
Jackie drove slowly north along Route 5 headed for the Taylor home. She drove with her windows open to let the air move through her car. It was hot but she disliked air conditioning in the car. Off to her left she could glimpse the broad James River while on both sides of the road, she drove pass beautiful big homes with finely manicure lawns. The sight was so foreign to her, after the small towns of New Hampshire.
The GPS directed her to turn left towards the river. After going about 100 yards, she found her destination. The Taylor home was not quite like those she just drove by. It wasn't as big but it was still impressive. A white fence surrounded the green lawn and the two-story brick house sat back from the road. There were a number of cars already here so Jackie parked her car along the road with some others. She walked up the driveway and hearing voices coming from the back, she walked around the garage. There she found the cookout in full swing.
"Jackie!" Wendy exclaimed, running up to her. "I thought you never get here! Come on, my dad is over here."
Hank Taylor was standing by the grill, a beer in hand, talking to one of the guest. He smiled as he saw Jackie headed his way. "Jackie, I'm so glad you could make it."
"Wendy begged me to come, Dr. Taylor."
"I'm happy she did and what's with the Dr. Taylor?" he asked, "We're not in school. Call me Hank."
Jackie paused. "Ok, Hank."
"Jackie, Kailey and Cindy are over there," Wendy said, "We like to ask you a few questions."
"Wendy, can't it wait? It's Saturday," her father asked.
"That's alright, Doctor, err, Hank." Jackie walked off with Wendy.
"Funny thing," Hank thought, "I wanted to talk with her too."
Wendy introduced Jackie to everyone. Jackie met Hank's sister, Missy and his parents, Mike and Grace. Jackie was a little nervous but found that everyone was polite and friendly. She wondered where Hank's wife was but thought it impolite to ask. They were curious about her life in New Hampshire and asked many questions. Mike and Grace said they had taken a tour of New England to see the fall colors but decided then it was a little too cool for their taste.
"Besides," Mike added, "You can see the same colors out in the Valley."
Jackie confessed she had never been there.
"It is a must see, dearie," Grace said. "Any time of the year, it is beautiful there."
"Especially up around Harper's Ferry," Mike said with a nod.
"Then I must make sure I get to see it," Jackie said, smiling.
"You know, big brother," Missy said, standing next to Hank, "I think you picked a good one this time."
"What do you mean, Missy?" Hank asked.
"For your secretary. I mean the one you have now is so dull. This one has a personality and she is cute too. I mean look at her talking to Mom and Dad."
Hank had noticed and he understood what his sister was saying. The other thing he noticed was how happy Wendy was. It had been three years since her mom, his wife, had passed away. It was hard to take but especially hard on Wendy. Hank worried about her a lot. In their grief they had grown closer and now, ever since Wendy returned from the class trip to New England, she was back to old self. It seems like she has a goal in her life and mentor.
"She isn't my secretary," he replied with an edge to his voice, "She is a student, really an intern in my program. That's all."
Missy stepped back, "Sorry, Hank, I didn't mean to imply anything."
"No, that's alright, sorry," Hank apologized. His sister was right though. Jackie was cute and she had a personality plus brains to go with it. It had only been a week but there was just something about her.
Hank finally got a few minutes alone with Jackie.
"Are you enjoying yourself, Jackie?" he asked.
"Oh yes, this is great," Jackie replied bubbly. "Your parents are so nice. And your sister too."
"Good. So how are things going here? Your classes ok? At Williamsburg?"
"There is a lot to do," Jackie confessed. "My classes seem good except for one. They want me to portray Abigail Adams in front of people. Not sure about that."
"From what I know about you, I don't think that will difficult," Hank replied.
"It's not standing up in front of people that bothers me," Jackie continued, "It's being Mrs. Adams. I usually just do a simple farm woman. No script or anything. I have to do a lot research on her."
Hank flipped one the burgers on the grill. "So what class is giving you trouble?"
Jackie handed him a plate with some rolls on it. "I don't know a lot about the subject. It's not an area I studied before. The professor is a really nice guy. I like him but he might be a little tough."
"Really? Do you need a little help? Should I go talk to the professor?"
"I don't think you should. I'm pretty sure I can talk with him myself. Like I said, he is a really nice guy." She reached over and took the plate now filled with burgers.
"So who is it? I'm dying to know, Jackie."
Jackie flashed him a smile. "It's you, Dr. Taylor!"
Flustered, Hank said nothing for moment. He then smiled back. "Perhaps then we should meet more often, Miss Morgan."
"I would like that!"
As the crowd thinned out, Jackie said her good-byes and headed for her car. Wendy followed after her.
"Jackie, can you come for dinner tomorrow," she asked, "I thought since it was Sunday we could talk about this week's upcoming class. I asked my dad and he said ok. Nothing special. Maybe chicken on the grill. Kailey and Christi will be here."
"I have to work at Williamsburg tomorrow until 5. I can come over around 6, if that ok?"
"Great!" Wendy exclaimed, "I'll tell my dad. See you then."
Driving back to her apartment, Jackie began to wonder what she just did. Somehow she wrangled a dinner with Dr. Taylor. She would get to see him again. It wasn't planned but she certainly wanted to. She cranked up the radio and sang along with Madonna.

Sunday
Yesterday for the picnic, Jackie dressed in shorts and a tank top. It was hot and it was a cookout. Tonight she decided that she would dress up a little more. Wendy said it would be chicken on the grill but Jackie suspected that it being a Sunday dinner it would be a little different. So she decided on a pair of skinny jeans and a blouse. She even took some extra time making sure her hair and make-up were perfect.
As she drove over to the Taylor house, she thought about what she was doing. She definitely was excited to be going but she was not really clear on why she was. It was one thing to meet with Dr. Taylor at school but it was different to be eating dinner with Hank and his daughter. It was something she couldn't explain to herself yet here she was turning into his driveway.
Wendy answered the door and invited Jackie in. "We're out back," she said, "Kailey and Cindy are here so I thought after we eat we could study."
"Sounds good to me," Jackie answered.
As she walked onto the deck, she saw Hank standing by the grill. He was dressed in a 3-button polo and tan slacks. Jackie was glad that she decided to wear what she did.
"Didn't I leave you at this same place yesterday?" she said with a smile.
"Hi, Jackie, and yes you did. This is my usual spot," Hank laughed. "Work go ok?"
"No problems but it are nice to get out of that clothing, especially on days like yesterday and today."
"I bet," Hank replied, "Are they making you some clothing in their costume department? Or are you wearing the clothes you brought with you?"
Before she could answer, Cindy blurted out a question. "Do you wear underwear under all that?"
"Cindy!" Wendy exclaimed, "Don't ask that!"
"Oh, don't worry," Jackie laughed, "I've been asked worse questions!"
Jackie calmly answered Cindy's question, which led to others. Soon the 4 girls were seated at the picnic table, talking and laughing together. Hank marveled at how easy Jackie was able to converse with the girls and how comfortable they were asking their questions. His sister was right about her being a find.
"Dinner is ready," Hank announced as he brought the chicken over to the table.
The three girls hurried into the kitchen to get the rest of the meal.
"Would you like some sweet tea, Jackie," Wendy asked.
"Sure, I've never had it before," Jackie said holding out her glass.
"Well, you are in for a treat then!"
The conversation around the table was light. It focused more on Jackie and the three girls. They were very interested in knowing more about her and her background. She told she was a nerd in high school and spent a lot of the time reading about history. She confessed that it was with the urging and guidance of one teacher that her love of history blossomed.
"Who are your favorite authors?" Hank asked.
She thought for a moment. "I guess I would have to say David McCullough. I've read all his books. I did read all the Washington's volumes by Freeman in high school."
Hank smiled, "That's impressive."
"What about you, girls?' Jackie asked. "What got you started?"
They told her that they were friends since middle school. They found they had a lot in common. Kailey said they were together on the Revolutionary War trip and they remembered Jackie from her talk at Lexington. Cindy said that Wendy was the only one who had the guts to go talk with afterwards.
"Oh I hope I didn't frighten you off!" Jackie said almost apologetic.
"No, that's just the way Wendy is!"
Wendy laughed, "That's because I'm 19 and they are only 18. That one year makes me more mature!"
Hank said very little at dinner. Again he sat back and watched Jackie interact with the girls. He especially watched his daughter. He noticed that Wendy was opening up to Jackie, something that had been missing for a while.
The girls discussed the readings they had for Dr. Moon's class and went over their notes. It was only the first week but they thought it was good idea to get a good start to the term. They looked to Jackie for guidance and she provided it. They also continued asking their numerous questions. The session went quickly and they decided that every Sunday would be the formal study group day. They agreed to meet other times if needed.
Wendy drove the girls home leaving Jackie alone with Hank.
"I want to thank you for dinner," Jackie said rising to leave.
"You're welcome," Hank replied, "Do you have leave so quickly? I would like to show you around plus discuss a little more of the program."
Deep down, Jackie wanted to stay so she answered quickly, "Sure, that would be fine."
The sun had already set below the horizon but there was still enough light to walk through Hank's backyard. The day had been hot and it was still warm out. The yard ran down to the James River over which a full moon was just appearing. It cast a silvery light on the water.
"So this is the James?" Jackie asked.
"Yes and just down the river is Jamestown," Hank answered.
"I have to visit it," Jackie said, "It is on my bucket list."
"Let me take you there. I know some of the people and we can take a special tour."
"I would love that," Jackie replied.
They stood quietly for a few moments.
"It so beautiful, so quiet and serene," Jackie said softly.
The statement startled Hank. He hadn't thought that way about it in some time.
"I want to thank you, Jackie," he began, "I've haven't seen my daughter so excited about anything in a while. You have really sparked an interest in history. Even in the other girls too. Have you ever thought about going into teaching?"
Jackie laughed, "Me, no way. I don't think I could do that!"
"I think you could do a good job." Hank paused. "I have to admit, I was worried about Wendy. Ever since her mom died three years, things have been a little down with her."
Jackie turned to Hank and rested both her hands on his bare arm. "Oh God, I'm so sorry to hear that," she said quietly and with deepest sympathy.
Hank looked Jackie in the face. In the soft moonlight, he saw something that stirred a feeling that lay dormant for sometime. The touch of her hands on his arm added to it. It confused him. All he could say was, "Thank you."
Jackie wanted to know more about this man standing next to her. Instead she turned to look over the River, not saying anything, but also not moving her hands from his arm.
Jackie's mind was else where as she drove back to her apartment. So much so that she missed a turn and she had to pull over. She set the GPS and continued on her way. The confusion didn't end as she stepped into the shower.
"What was happening?" she thought as the hot water cascaded over her body. "Sure she liked it when men showed her attention. It made her feel good. Previously it was men who came on to her but this was different. She hadn't felt this way before towards any man. It was she who was the aggressor, not Hank. She should stop but she didn't want to!"
Hank stood in his shower. The house was quiet, as his daughter had gone to bed. In the solitude it gave him time to think on what was going on. He leaned against the shower wall.
"What is happening here?" he thought. "This young lady is only a little older than my daughter! Yet there is something about her that makes her seem more mature. They have a lot in common and she is vibrant and fun to be with. Christ, you're 39 years old! Yet, he enjoyed her company and found himself thinking about when he would see her again."

The Next Few Weeks
The next few weeks flew by. Jackie had settled into her classes at college and her work at Williamsburg. Martha, aka Mrs. Washington, was proving to be a great help. Everyday they walked the village together, talking to visitors and encouraging Jackie every step of the way. Some days their walks included young Mr. Washington, Jim Peterson, who portrayed him. The couple was the Washingtons before the Revolution. There were many others doing other key features of Colonial America who helped Jackie along.
"I think you're almost ready to solo, Jackie," Ms. Jackson said. "Martha thinks you are and so does Josh."
Josh, aka Alexander Hamilton, had become one of Jackie's best friends at the village. Every Friday they met for the dancing group and then with the group went out for some late night food.
The first night set the tone.
"I would like a black and white frappe," Jackie asked the waitress.
The waitress looked at her confused, "A what?"
"A black and white frappe," she repeated.
As the rest of the group looked as confused as the waitress, Josh asked, "What is that?'
Jackie acted as if everyone should know what it was. "Chocolate and vanilla ice cream, a hint of chocolate sauce, in an extra thick milk shake, one that the straw stands up in, extra thick."
"She is from up North," Josh said apologizing to the waitress. "Do you think you can make that?"
"I don't know. I have to ask my boss."
When the waitress returned she set the frappe down in front of Jackie. She waited for the reaction.
Jackie wrapped the straw and placed it in the center of the drink. Slowly the straw began to tip over but then stopped. Jackie took a sip. It was good but not as good as back home.
"Well?" the waitress asked.
Jackie looked at her and smiled. "Good job. It is just right."
Since that night a night of the girls began ordering frappes of various flavors. The place now included them on the menu.
"You know, Jackie," Lucy, one of the girls in the group said, leaning over to her, "I'm trying to lose weight and every Friday, I say not tonight but then we get here and I ordered one of these things. It's evil."
"I know, me too!" Jackie laughed.
Jackie enjoyed Josh's company along with the other guys in the group. She was pleased to see that Josh had a girlfriend, Lynn, who was part of the dance group. Because of this, Jackie could be herself around him and have fun. There was no fear or strings attached.
It was not the same with Hank Taylor. There was no fear for Jackie when she was with Hank. Maybe there should have been but in reality, she was having too much of a good time with him.
They scheduled meetings every Thursday afternoon after class. At first they met in his office to discuss both the class and how things were going. Soon it progressed to small lunches in his office. Now he was taking her out for lunch. They were not big or fancy. Most of the time it was the hot dog place where they would get their order and then find a place in the sun to eat.
Jackie always looked forward to the lunches and was now taking care on what she would wear to them. For the other days of the week it was jeans and depending on the weather, what kind of top. On meeting days, she picked out her clothes the night before. Lately it had been a skirt and blouse. She took extra care to look her best.
This Thursday was different. As promised, Hank took Jackie to Jamestown. No skirt and blouse this time, she wore skinny blue
jeans and tight black top with spaghetti straps. Black sneakers finished it off as she expected to do some walking near the site. Prof. Hansen talked about the archeological diggings that were taking place there and Jackie wanted to get some information about them.
She met Hank at his office and together they drove off. It wasn't too long a drive and they chatted along the way. He explained that he knew the curator so they could see and do things the public couldn't.
"I brought my notebook along to take notes," Jackie said.
Somehow Hank expected her to.
He glanced over at her and smiled. Her strawberry blonde hair blew lightly in the air as the car sped along. The top she was wearing really showed off her figure. It was tight with good amount of cleavage showing. It was the first time Jackie wore something like it while with him. Mostly it was a stylist skirt and somewhat conservative blouse. Even at the Sunday dinners she dressed nothing like today. He couldn't help but notice.
"You can't begin to know grateful I am that you are willing to take me here, Hank," Jackie said stepping out of car. "I really appreciate it."
"It is my pleasure, Jackie. It is not often I get to go on a field trip with such an enthusiastic student as yourself." He added to himself, "Or as pretty."
"Ok, where are we off to?" Jackie asked.
"Follow me," Hank told her, "We will be meeting someone soon."
At that moment, an older man appeared. He had a grey beard and a tan dusty shirt and jeans. He looked just like Jackie expected one doing his line of work would look.
"Welcome, Hank, its been a long time."
"Too long," Hank replied, shaking his hand. He turned towards Jackie. "Bob, this is Jackie Morgan. She is an intern of mine and also a student in Tom Hansen's class. I brought her down here to get a first hand look at what you are digging up."
"Welcome, Miss Morgan, right this way." Bob gave Hank a look and smiled as he led the way.
Like in all her classes, Jackie dove right in. She asked probing questions and took in all the information, writing it down in her notebook. She got down in one of hole with one of workers to get a closer look at one of the new finds and listened carefully as the significance of it was explained to her.
"Wow, Hank," Bob said, "She is quite the eager beaver. We haven't had someone come through here like her in a long time. I bet she is driving Old Tom crazy in class."
"I understand Tom thinks she is a great student," Hank said, "I think she tones it down in class."
Bob laughed. He then whispered, "And she is quite attractive too."
"I hadn't noticed," Hank replied but his smile gave him away.
They stayed longer than Hank planned but it didn't upset his plans.
"All set?" he asked as Jackie settled into the seat.
"Oh yes!" she said excitedly, "That was fantastic. Thank you so much! I learned a lot today."
"Good, then the trip was worth it." He backed the car out of the spot. "Looking at the time, I thought we could go out for dinner. I know a nice place over on the York River. It is not far from here."
"I don't know, Hank, I look a mess," Jackie said squirming in the seat.
"You look fine," Hank smiled, "You can wash up if you want when we get there."
It was a small Italian restaurant overlooking the York River. The setting sun reflected off the still water as small ships passed by. The York wasn't as broad or as deep as the James so there wasn't as much traffic. From her seat by the window, Jackie could see that it broaden out as it approached the Bay.
"Yorktown battlefield is not too far from here," Hank said setting his menu down. "Perhaps next week we can take a field trip there."
"Yes, I would like that," Jackie answered, "There is so much history here and so much to see."
"Yes there is. How would you like to see some Presidential homes? We have a few nearby."
"Of course I would," Jackie answered quickly. "Like I said there is so much history here."
Hank ordered chicken parm while Jackie asked for a plate of shells with meat sauce. Hank then ordered some red wine for both of them. When the wine came, Hank proposed a toast. "To a successful field trip, may we have many more."
Jackie smiled and blushed a bit at the thought.
Their conversation started with talk about the program but soon became more personal. Hank told Jackie about his wife, and that she was a teacher in the middle teacher. When he told her how they met, Jackie replied, "That's sweet." When Hank explained her passing from cancer and how devastating it was to Wendy and him, Jackie reached over and took his hand. Her eyes filled as she listened and all she could say was that she was so sorry.
Hank asked questions about Jackie and she answered them as truthfully as she could. She talked about her mom and dad and her sister Rachel. She told him about how in high school she wasn't much of a student but things changed in college. Without revealing too much, Jackie told Hank her life had changed so much in the last few years and she had some definite goals. Surprising as she talked to him, she found it easier to open up to him. So much so that Jackie began to feel she could tell him anything. "Maybe?" she thought.
As she was talking and eating, some sauce dropped onto her chest. It landed right at the top of her one breast.
Without thinking, Hank reached over. "I'll get that," he said. He took his finger and quickly wiped it off. Suddenly realizing what he did, he stared at Jackie, holding his now sauce covered finger out.
Jackie smiled at him. She took hold of his hand and pulled it towards her. She leaned over and placed her mouth on his finger. She gently sucked on the digit, taking all of it into her mouth. Leaning back, she smiled again. "There, all clean."
An awkward pause followed as both realized what just happened. Jackie blushed as Hank stammered, "Yes, yes, all clean."
Hank dropped her off at the condo after dinner.
"Thank you for a wonderful time, Hank," Jackie said leaning into the car. "We have to do this again. Yorktown?"
"You bet. Maybe next week!" he replied, "See you Sunday?"
"Of course!"
As Hank drove away and Jackie thought about what happened, she tried to make sense about what was going on. She felt different about Hank. She was experiencing feelings that were unfamiliar to her. It was confusing but also very exciting.
Driving away, Hank thought about the day. It seemed to him that it had become something more a visit to Jamestown. He was finding himself wanting to spend more time with Jackie and she was somehow becoming important to him. He hadn't felt like this in a long time.

A Crossroads
Jackie didn't have to be at work until 10 so she hopped out of bed and headed to the kitchen. Fixing herself a cup of tea and bagel she set out typing on her computer. She laid out her assignment calendar and took a serious look at it. She was up to date in all her classes as far as written work and she was halfway through the reading for Dr. Martin. That wasn't a problem as she could finish the reading by tonight and then quickly type up a summary and review. What she really needed to work on was Abigail Adams. Ms. Jackson wanted something by Friday. Jackie set to work.
The inside front door was open to allow the morning sun to pour through the glass storm door. The weather was still warm and Jackie was enjoying it. She overheard many people saying this wouldn't last and it would soon get cooler. She smiled thinking that cooler to these Virginians would turn out to be warm to her. Setting the computer on the counter, she leaned over. She wiggled her ass and stretched her legs, trying to get a little morning exercise.
She was startled by a knock on the door. She didn't expect anyone this early so she hadn't gotten dressed. She was wearing her new W&M t-shirt and white cotton panties, not exactly what one would greet guest in.
"Jackie, it's me, Amber," the girl said entering the condo, "I hope I didn't surprise you too much."
"No. I'm sorry I'm not really dressed to entertain guests this morning."
"You look fine." Amber meant it. She was very curious as to what Jackie looked like out of her clothes. What she saw she liked. "I just checked in to see if you are still good for tonight?"
"Tonight?" Jackie asked.
"Yes, remember we are all going out for a night out. Don't tell me you forgot," Amber sounded pissed, "You can't back out now. You promised after missing the other two."
"I guess but," Jackie began.
"No buts," Amber cut her off with a wave of a hand. "We'll pick you up around 7, 7:30. That should give you plenty of time to get ready. Wear your best party dress. See you then."
Jackie frowned. She didn't want to go but she couldn't say no. Maybe it will be fun.
Jackie hurried home from work. Amber said they would be there to pick her up between 7 and 7:30. She grabbed a quick bite to eat and jumped into the shower. She dried off and then got dressed. She decided that tonight might be fun as a break might be good for her. She had been busy every night with work and studying so maybe she needed a night out.
For tonight she was going to wear that leather skirt she wore when she went out with Rachel and her friends. She hadn't worn it in quite a while and it was her only real party dress. A royal blue blouse with the top few buttons undone went with it. Black stockings, not pantyhose, and black heels were a perfect fit. She topped it off with dangly earrings and her favorite necklace. She looked in the mirror. Royal blue brought out the red in her hair and her make-up was just enough,
Waiting for the girls, she remembered she hadn't texted Kelly today. Instead of calling every night, Kelly suggested they texted each other and then call Sunday night. She said they would have more to talk about, going over the past week and talking about what was going on in the upcoming week. Jackie thought there was nothing unusual about it and decided it was a good idea. She was going to have a lot to tell Kelly this Sunday.
The car pulled up just before 7:30. Amber hopped out and opened the back door as Jackie came out. Tiffany climbed out of the back.
"Here you go," Tiffany said, pointing to the back middle seat. Jackie got in, sitting between Tiffany and Mandy. It was tight and Jackie's skirt rode up, revealing her stocking top. She tried to tug it down but to no avail. Feeling a little embarrassed, she glanced over at the other two girls. She realized that what she was wearing was quite conservative compared to theirs.
What both girls were wearing was only outfits Jackie had seen on Facebook of those short videos of women out for the night. She never thought they were real. Mandy had on a metallic green dress, very low cut, no back and incredibly short. Tiffany out did her.
Hers was white and contrasted beautifully with her milk chocolate skin. There was a lot showing. The skirt if one could call it that was more like two loin clothes held together with thin strings. The top barely covered her nipples. There was no way either were wearing underwear.
Amber turned around in the front seat and leaned over the seat. She nearly popped out of her top it being so low cut. She had a silver flask in her hand. She handed it to Tiffany. "Let's get started."
As the car drove off, Tiffany took a long drink from the flask. She then handed it to Jackie. "Here you go, girl." When Jackie hesitated, Tiffany exclaimed, "Come on drink up!"
Jackie took a small sip. It was Jack Daniels. She remembered it from her date with Tommy and Jimmy.
Tiffany frowned, "You need to take more than that. Loosen up!"
Jackie took a longer drink. She could feel it go all the way down.
Mandy took the flask from Jackie. Before she drank from it, she said, "Christ, if I don't get laid tonight, I'll swear I'll burst."
The other two girls laughed.
"You always need to get laid," Amber added.
Tiffany replied, "I just need a little relief and I'm not picky tonight." She looked at Jackie and winked. "If you know what I mean."
Jackie's mind screamed, "What the fuck was going on?"
Kristi parked the car a few blocks from the place. Jackie could heard the music even from this distance. Before they headed off, each one took one gulp of Amber's flask, Jackie included. It was more than she wanted but she was too nervous to say no.
The crowd outside was large and Jackie noticed that many of the girls were dressed like her three friends, some wearing even less. There were many guys also. As they walked to the door, there were a few comments, some calling the girls by name. Tiffany answered one with "In your dreams, boy!"
The bouncer, a large Black man, at the door recognized the girls and let them breeze right in. As Jackie passed him, she heard him say, "A new one, very nice."
As Jackie entered into the main room, she froze. Tiffany crashed into her back. "Shit, girl, what are you stopping for? Come on!"
The sights, the sounds, even the smell, it all came back to her. It was as if she stepped back into time. It was just like the place at college where she first ventured out as Jackie! She remembered it all and none of it was pleasant. Before she could react, Tiffany grabbed her hand. "Let's go! Amber found a table."
It was a booth and Tiffany shoved Jackie into it. She pushed in, pinning Jackie between herself and Kristi.
"There looks like some good pickings today," Mandy said.
As soon as she finished, three guys walked over. "Good evening, girls, it's been awhile," the one in the middle spoke up, "Who's the new girl?"
"This is Jackie and she is from New Hampshire so treat her right. Jackie, this is Tony and the big mouth is Jake. The tall handsome one is Marquis," Tiffany said.
"That was harsh, Tiff," Jake said, "I'm sure we can show her some southern hospitality."
"Maybe a little," Tiffany answered.
Amber can over with a tray of drinks. "I got everyone drinks. You know there is not a big selection so rum and Cokes it is."
As the girls drank up, Kristi told her about the three guys. "Tony is ok, real polite, he tries, if you know what I mean. Jake thinks he God's gift to woman. Now Marquis.."
All Jackie could say was, "Ok."
It wasn't long before the girls were dancing. They dragged Jackie out onto the floor and at first they danced together but soon they found guys to partner up with. It seemed Marquis had picked Jackie.
"So, Red, you're from New Hampshire. I never met a girl from that far north. So what do girls like you like?" He leaned close as they danced.
"We liked lots of things," Jackie stammered.
Marquis slid his leg between Jackie's and grabbing her ass pulled her tight. He began to grind against her. "Like what?"
Jackie began to panic. It was fight or flight. She decided to do both. She put her hands on his chest. She could feel his strength but she pushed. Stepping back, she said firmly, "We don't like that!" She turned towards the booth.
Marquis grabbed her arm. "Look, bitch,"
Jackie looked directly at him. "Let go of me, now!"
"Yes, your highness." He released her and walked away.
Upon reaching the booth, she found that another round of drinks had been placed on the table. She took one and drank it down. After nursing her first one throughout the evening, she finished this one without a thought. She sat down heavily.
As she sat there she saw Marquis talking to Tiffany who headed her way. Tiffany sat down beside her. "What is the matter with you? Marquis is a great guy. Every girl in here likes him and enjoys his company. He just wanted to get to know him. Now he feels he disrespected him."
Jackie wanted to explode. "Disrespected him? Fuck that! How about he disrespected me!" Instead she just said, "He isn't my type."
Tiffany looked at her and smiled. "I thought so when I first met you." She slid closer and draped her arm around Jackie. "You like the ladies, don't you?" She traced Jackie's ear with her finger.
Before Jackie could answer, Tiffany licked Jackie's ear and then stuck her tongue in it. "Would you like some brown sugar, baby?"
There was no fight this time. Jackie slid to the end of the seat. Rising quickly she pushed her way through the crowd and fled.
Jackie took a big gulp of fresh air as she exited the building. The night air was much cooler than inside and it came as a shock to her. It was then she realized that she was drunk. Not totally drunk but drunk enough. She never drank that much hard stuff and tonight she was feeling it. She concentrated, trying to clear her mind. She walked towards the parking lot where the car was. As she did, she checked her watch. It was 11:00. She had only been there about 3 hours.
She had to get away but there was a problem. She wasn't sure where she was. She thought about calling an Uber but not being sure of the address that would be difficult. She sat down on the curb, trying to clear her head. "What could she do? Wait for the girls? That might take forever!"
Through the haze of alcohol, she came up with an answer.
"Hello," he answered. Not getting an answer, he asked again, "Hello?" Not hearing anything, he began to hang up. He heard a quiet voice ask, "Dr. Taylor? Hank?"
"Jackie?"
"Yes, it's Jackie."
Hank stood up. "Jackie, are you alright? Where are you? Are you in trouble?"
"Yes," Jackie began to explain but had trouble doing it. All Hank could gather was Jackie went out to a place with friends. There was some drinking and some kind of trouble. She needed a ride. At least she could tell him the name of the place.
"Alright, I know the place," he calmly told her, "I'll be there in about 25 minutes. Keep your phone ready as I'll call you when I get close. Don't worry, Honey, I'll be there soon."
He grabbed his keys and went upstairs. He told Wendy he was going out and not to worry, he'll be back soon.
Jackie moved a little from her location, thinking sitting on the curb wasn't a good idea. There she waited anxiously.
Hank didn't break any land speed records but he came close. About two blocks away he called Jackie to tell her where he was. He stayed on the phone with her until he saw her standing under a harsh streetlight. He pulled up and hopped out. "Thank God, you're alright," he said escorting her to the car. Opening the door, he helped her in.
As he drove off, he noticed a couple things. One was he never saw Jackie dressed quite like this. Second her skirt had hiked quite high as she sat, showing off quite a bit of thigh. The final two things were what concerned him. She was a bit drunk and shaking.
"Are you ok, Jackie?"
She said nothing but then began to cry. Through her tears, she blurted out, "How could I be so stupid? Kelly says I'm so naïve at times!"
Hank reached over and patted her shoulder. "It's alright now. You're safe."
"Yes, thanks to you. I had to call you in the middle of the night to save me! That's just wonderful. You had to leave your house to pick up some drunk and stupid college student."
"It's no big deal, Jackie," Hank replied.
"Oh I suppose you do this all the time?" Jackie asked sarcastically.
"No, this is my first time," he replied with a laugh, trying to ease the tension. He didn't tell her that he was very happy to do it. It made him feel good she reached out to him when she needed help.
He handed her a tissue, "Here, blow your nose and wipe your face. He pulled into a small all night café. "Let's go in here. We'll get a cup of coffee and talked." He took a jacket he had in backseat and put it around her shoulders. "There, that should feel better."
There were only a few patrons so they took a booth in the back. Hank ordered a coffee for himself and a tea for Jackie. He also ordered a piece of apple crumble pie. "Let's get some food in that stomach of yours."
Jackie calmed down as she told Hank what happened. Between bites, she explained how she really didn't want to go with the girls. How the place reminded her of a bad occurrence that happened to her at college when she was a freshman. She went on to tell him she very seldom drank hard stuff and got drunk. It all just poured out. It felt so easy to talk to him and she wanted to tell him all of it. When it came what happened with Marquis, she may have said too much.
"I know what was going on. The girls made it clear that he was good in bed and how lucky I was going to be. I'm no virgin but I'm not that kind of girl, Dr. Taylor. Believe me."
Hank smiled. "I believe you. Now let's get you home."
As they pulled up at the condo, Jackie leaned out of the door. "I don't think I should have had that pie!" She began to throw up.
Hank shut off the car and hurried around to her side. She was on all four, retching into the grass. "I'm so sorry. This is embarrassing."
Her skirt had ridden up so she showed off her black thong and garters. At another time, Hank might have been excited to see them but not tonight. He helped her to her feet. "Come on, I'll help you."
He walked her to the door "Are you going to be ok?" he ask.
"Yes, I'm ok," she said entering the condo. "And thank you. I don't know how to repay you."
He watched her stumbled a bit into to the house. "She is still a little drunk," he said driving away.
Jackie prepared to step into the shower when she heard a knock on the front door. Thinking it was one of the girls, she threw on her robe and walked down to the door. They knocked again.
"Wait a fuckin' minute," she yelled. She opened the door. It was Hank.
"Jackie," he said and then seeing her in her robe he cursed, "Oh shit!"
Jackie jumped behind the door. "Dr. Taylor!" she exclaimed, "What are you doing here?"
Hank took no time in explaining. "Get dressed and get what you need for tomorrow. I'm not letting you stay here by yourself. You're still drunk. I'll wait out here."
Surprisingly, Jackie didn't argue or put up a fuss. She got dressed in a pair of sweats and hoodie, threw some things she needed in her backpack and walked to the door.
"All set?" he asked.
"Yes," she said quietly.
"You'll sleep here tonight," Hank said escorting her to the master bedroom. "There is a bathroom and shower you can use off it."
"Where are you going to sleep?" Jackie asked, hoping for one answer, expecting another.
"Don't worry about me. Get some sleep!" As he closed the door, he said softly, "Good night."

The Next Day
Jackie awoke and stretched across the king size bed. It took her a few minutes to realize where she was. She sat up quickly and surveyed her surrounding. She vaguely remembered Hank bringing her home and then somehow she ended up here. Now she found herself waking up in her professor's bed.
She checked her watch. 9:30! She jumped out of bed and staggered. "Slow down, girl!" she said out loud. Regaining her balance, she headed to the bathroom. After she was done, she checked her backpack for her clothes. It was an odd selection of a pair of shorts, yoga pants, and a t-shirt. Digging through it, she discovered she had forgotten a bra. When she looked for the one she must have worn last night, there was none to be found. "Great!" she thought, as she dug deeper. "At least I brought some panties!"
"How are you feeling this morning?" Hank asked as Jackie entered the kitchen. "There is hot water for your tea on the stove. I fixed your cup the way you like it, I think."
"Not too bad," Jackie confessed, "My head hurts a little. How bad was I?"
"Not too bad, I seen worse," he laughed, "Remember anything?"
"Some things. Don't remember coming here but thank you."
"My pleasure." He bowed to her. "It isn't often I have one of my students sleeping in my bed, especially a very pretty one."
"Oh Dr. Taylor! When was the last time you did that?" Jackie asked in all seriousness.
Hank looked around and then smiled. "Never."
Jackie spent the morning with the Taylors, thoroughly enjoying herself. It seemed so right and comfortable. So much so that she completely forget about not wearing a bra underneath her thin t-shirt. Just before she left, she caught a glance of herself. The thin cotton material didn't hide much. She tossed on her hoodie as she left.
"Isn't it a little warm for that?" Hank asked.
"I'll be fine," Jackie answered defensively.
Dropping her off at her condo, Hank asked, "Are you sure you don't want to stay? It's no problem."
"I understand but I have to do some laundry and school work. I'll be over for dinner though. And thanks again. For everything!" Jackie looked around and then gave him a quick kiss. "See you tonight." She hopped out of the car and waved good-bye.
Hank sat in the car, surprised at the kiss. More surprising was his reaction. He liked it!
Jackie settled in with her computer and started to work. She had completed her notes on Abigail Adams and now she needed to come up with something that sounded natural and smooth. Martha and Josh had given her pointers and helped her along. Martha had aided by letting her tagged along on her walks and interacting with the public. Josh and she had developed a little friendly give and take as he presented Alexander Hamilton. It was spontaneous and it helped her relax.
Melissa Jackson, her Williamsburg director, wanted to see what Jackie was planning in writing. The sooner this was done the sooner Jackie would be presenting. Jackie hoped that night she might show Wendy and the other girls part of it. Last night's fiasco may have put the idea on hold.
She had only typed a few paragraphs when Amber appeared at the door. Jackie invited her in.
"So where did you vanish to last night? Tiff said you left in a hurry," she asked.
"I just needed some fresh air," Jackie lied.
"I heard you had some trouble with Marquis. He is a nice guy, usually there isn't any trouble." Amber was searching for answers.
"Just a misunderstanding, that's all."
"Well, it worked out." Amber explained, "Mandy hooked up with him and she got her wish, if you know what I mean." She paused, "I see you did alright."
"Me? What do you mean?" Jackie asked.
"Don't play so innocent. I saw the older man in the Beemer drop you off this morning. Where did you meet him?"
Jackie had to think fast. "After I got some fresh air, I went for a little walk. On the way back I met him. One thing led to other, if you get my drift."
"Damn, good for you," Amber smiled. "Tiff and I struck out but it worked for us." She smiled again. "Look, we'll be doing it again next Saturday. If you want, you're always welcomed."
"Thanks, I'll remember that."

Sunday Night
Jackie dressed more respectable for dinner than she was this morning. It was always casual but Jackie felt she should bring the level up a bit. She smiled to herself as she remembered to wear a bra tonight! She had a funny feeling that the nights would begin to cool down soon so she wore a pair of nice shorts and polo shirt for dinner. It might be the last time.
"Feeling better tonight?" Hank asked.
"Much better," Jackie laughed. "I just need to lay off the hard stuff. I can't handle it. Just wine for me." With that, she sipped her glass of wine.
The two were standing together out on the deck. It had become routine. After her session with Wendy and girls, Wendy would drive them home while Hank and Jackie retreated to the deck. There they talked. It was nice and relaxed.
"So did you read my Adams' presentation?" Jackie asked.
"I did when you were with the girls," Hank answered, "I made a few notes in the margins. I don't know a lot about Abigail but it sounded good. I know more about her husband. Now you need to rehearse it. As many times as possible. Is there anyone to help with that?"
"Yes, I have a couple of people who will help."
"Good, I think you are doing great. How do you think you're doing?" Hank asked.
"I'm getting there," Jackie confessed. "There is one thing. Last night."
"Yes, what about it?"
"I'm don't usually do that. I'm not that kind of girl. I don't think you'll see that again," Jackie confessed. "And I don't usually kiss my professors."
Hank laughed. "That part was okay!"
"Also, the girls next door saw you drop me off this morning," Jackie continued.
"And?" Hank inquired.
"They didn't recognize you but they put one and one together and came up with three," Jackie explained.
"I see and you think that is a problem?" Hank asked turning towards Jackie.
"I don't want it to be a problem for you." Jackie moved closer.
"Do you think it will become one?" Hank placed his hands on Jackie's hip.
"Not if we don't want it too." Jackie tilted her head back as Hank leaned closer.
"Hey Dad!" Wendy shouted barging onto the deck. "Oh!" She stopped abruptly. "Sorry."
"Don't be sorry. We're glad you're home safe," Hank dropping his hands.
"That's ok," Jackie said moving away, realizing the moment had been lost. "I have to get going anyway. Thanks for dinner as always and I'll most likely see you tomorrow."
On the way back Jackie thought about what almost happened. Even though it didn't it still made her feel good.
****
A Few Loose Ends
That night Jackie lay in bed thinking about what almost occurred. She was surprised at her reaction. Before she wanted men to kiss her because she wanted to feel good about being a woman and being desirable. Tonight was totally different but she was unable to explain it.
She called Kelly and apologized about missing their morning call. She told her about last night and what happen. When it came to telling her about what when down with Hank, she was very thin with the details. It wasn't like she was hiding something. She just didn't want to tell her. Surprisingly also was Kelly's reaction. It was calm and reserved, as if it was no big deal. The whole phone was that way except when Kelly talked about her supervising teacher.
She told Jackie that she was asked by him to do this huge project together and if they pulled it off there could be an award and possibly other perks. She was super excited about it. It could also mean she could have a permanent job in the district come next school year.
"Wouldn't that be great?" Kelly said. Jackie could hear the excitement in her voice. "You could work at the Park and get your Master's. We could live together or at my mom's. Think about it!"
"That would be great, Kel. That's what we talked about."
"Yeah, and Matt is such a great guy. I really enjoy working with him," Kelly added. "He is super nice!"
When Jackie hung up, she should have been excited but she wasn't.
Monday morning, Jackie talked with her doctor during her monthly check-up. Everything was going fine. All her tests came back normal with one change. The ratio between her testosterone and estrogen had changed.
"You know how your body has been producing both for a while," the doctor explained, "That is why you're taking estrogen supplements. Now it seems your body is producing more estrogen than before. Have noticed any differences?"
Jackie couldn't say if she did or not. She hadn't had sex in a while but she hadn't had any opportunities either. Her breasts hadn't grown any bigger or fuller. She gained some weight but that had to do with the weekly frappes. There was one nagging question though.
"I remember you told me that the estrogen was rewiring my brain. I told you I wanted to become more feminine and part of that was thinking about men. I have met a few and I like the way they treated me and made me feel, like a woman."
"Is that a problem, Jackie?"
"No not really but I met a man, an older man," Jackie tried to explain, "And I feel so different about him, feelings I never had before about a man."
"Does he know all about you?" the doctor asked.
"No, and I'm afraid to tell him. It might ruin everything," Jackie confessed.
"I see," the doctor replied, "How does he feel about you?"
"I think he likes me. I know we enjoy doing things together and he seems to have a good time when we are. I don't know. I just afraid."
"I understand," the doctor said in a caring voice. "Many of my patients go through this. You have to decide what you want. You have to be honest with yourself and this man. There are no easy answers. Do you have someone you can talk to nearby? If you do, talk with them. As far as your dosage, do you want to up it?"
"Let me think it over, and we'll talk next month." When Jackie hung up, she remembered one thing she forgot to tell the doctor. She was completely over worrying about feeling feminine. There were no doubts now.

Time Passes
As September turned into October, Jackie found that she had created a comfortable routine. Classes were Monday through Thursday. Dr. Martin's readings, ended at 1 on Tuesday and on those days she just worked in the gift shop. She worked the other days after class except Thursday with a full day on Friday and the weekends. Every Friday night was dancing and she also helped out when necessary during some other evening performances.
Her personal life was going well too. She was still friendly with Amber and Tiffany but there were no more Saturday nights out. They were very curious about Jackie's mystery gentleman who dropped her off every Thursday night. On those Thursdays she had lunch with Hank and since their trip to Jamestown, he had taken her to other historical sites up and down the Peninsula. She found she couldn't wait to see what places he had picked. She began to realize that the location didn't matter, it was the time with Hank that did
This past Thursday it was a tour of the local plantations. They went to a number of them including Presidents William Henry and Benjamin Harrison's family homes at Berkley. They stopped at President Tyler's home, Sherwood Forest also. Jackie knew very little about these presidents but being in Hank's president class and these road trips, she was learning so much more.
Hank planned it a little different this time. Instead of the historical sites then dinner, he drove straight to Upper Shirley Vineries for lunch. It was an amazing place. They ate on a wide veranda that overlooked an immense stretch of green lawn and a view of the James River. The food was wonderful also. The real attraction was the wine. Hank bought two flights of four different wines for their tasting. With two different flights, they got to sample eight different wines of various types.
Jackie knew next to nothing about wines except she liked to drink it. Hank on the other hand, knew quite a bit and he impressed her with his knowledge. At lunch's end he purchased two bottles.
"We'll keep these for when you come over for dinner on Sunday," he said as they drove off.
Since they had a late lunch, they stopped for a light dinner before he took her home. A small roadside restaurant was good enough.
"Nothing special here," Hank noted, "Wendy and I stop here if we want a quick bite." He paused. "My wife and I used to eat here when we were dating. We couldn't afford much."
It was the first Hank had mentioned his late wife in that way. It meant a lot to Jackie that he did.
Ever since that night they almost kissed on the deck, the relationship between the two was changing. It was developing into something deeper than friends, more than a student/teacher thing. Jackie could feel it changing, not only in how she felt but Hank too. It felt too good to question it.
"I would like to ask you something, Jackie," Hank said finishing his burger, "Don't answer too quickly. Think it over."
"What is it? Is it bad? Did I do something wrong in the program?" Jackie breathlessly asked.
He took her hands in his. "No, nothing like that. Damn!" he paused. "I haven't done this in a long time. There is this big thing this Saturday at the College. It is a gathering of the administration, some faculty, and other important people. I would like you to accompany me there. I know it is last minute."
Jackie smiled. She wanted to blurt out Yes but instead she teased, "Are you asking me on a date?"
Hank blushed then stammered, "Yes." He leaned back. "Don't make this more difficult than it already is. It's been quite sometime since I did this."
Jackie answered quickly. "Of course I will. I would love to go with you!"
"Ok, then." Hank went on to explain when he would pick her up and that it was a suit and tie affair but not formal
Jackie listened carefully but she was already thinking about what she would wear and how excited she was.
****
The Date
Jackie couldn't wait for Saturday. Friday went very slow and that night she had trouble sleeping. She kept telling herself to relax but it wasn't easy. She had gone over and over what she was going to wear but in reality she only had one choice. She was going to wear the same black dress she wore in Washington, D. C.
Jackie stood in front of the mirror after taking her shower. She was pleased with what she saw. She cupped her breasts. They felt good in her hands. They had filled out a bit more after the increase in dosage but nothing that made them too big. Besides she was proud of them since there was nothing fake about them. They were all hers.
She turned and checked out her ass. That too, looks good. It was full and rounded but she understood how a woman could never be happy about it.
She turned and facing the mirror, pouting. She couldn't make up her mind whether to wear her hair up or down. Down was the usual way she wore it. She loved her hair color and down showed it off. The dress was off the shoulders and strapless so there wasn't anything to hinder the curve from her neck, across her shoulder, and down to her breasts if she wore her hair up. She had silver hooped earrings that would look good if she wore it up. She thought for a moment. "My hair is always down and that's the only way Hank has seen it!" She made her decision. Up it was!
There was another addition to her look; nail polish and lipstick. For her job at Williamsburg she didn't wear either, as it wouldn't be correct for a colonial woman to wear any. When she went out with Hank on Thursdays or Sunday's dinner, she wore lip-gloss and a little make-up. Tonight would be different. She chose red for her nail polish and lipstick. She had learned a lot from Kelly and Kylie and even though she was no Ravenna, she pulled it off. It didn't scream, "Look at me!" but she was sure Hank would notice.
Now for the dress. She had worn it before and she liked the way it fit. She remembered the looks and compliments she got wearing it. She pulled it down over her head and wiggled into it. The dress had support for her breasts built in that slightly lifted and pushed them together, just enough but not obscenely. She noticed that she filled it out a little more than last time.
Underneath the dress starting below her breasts and covering her waist and hips was shape wear. It created a smooth line and added definition to her figure. No underwear was needed. There was a gusset in the crotch that was provided if needed. She had worn it before and she found it very comfortable. It was like going commando and yet it allowed her to conceal her cock. Black thigh high stockings and silver 2 inch heels finished off the look. She adjusted the top and smoothed down the sides as she checked herself out. It needed one more thing.
She slipped her blue bobble necklace on. She placed the glass ball so it settled just so on her cleavage. She took a deep breath. At that moment there was a knock on the door. "Here we go!" she said softly.
Hank had taken extra time to make sure he looked good. He didn't know why but he was extremely nervous. It had been quite some time since he went on a date. It was the first time in three years he had been out on anything like one.
"How do I look?" he asked his daughter, standing in the doorway.
"You look great, Dad," Wendy replied, "Relax, will you!" She had never seen her dad act this way. "You'll do fine." It made her smile as she remembered her first date and how she felt. Now it was her turn to give calming advice.
He stood at Jackie's door and knocked.
Jackie opened the door.
It was not what Hank expected. For almost two months, he had seen Jackie dressed in jeans and a t-shirt or a smart skirt and blouse but nothing like what stood before him. This was no college student coming to Dr. Taylor looking for advice. He said nothing at first but just looked at her. She was stunning!
Finally he said, "Ready?"
"Let me get my shawl," Jackie said, grabbing a gray wrap from the back of the chair, "It might get chilly later."
As the couple walked to the car, Tiffany peaked out the window.
"Damn," she said, "Amber, come look at this. It seems our friend next door knows what she is doing. Maybe those Northern girls move faster than we thought."
Hank said very little in the car as they drove. Jackie realized that he was more nervous than he was. Knowing this made her relax.
"You look very nice, all dressed up," she said.
He looked over at her. She looked beautiful. She was a knockout in that dress. It showed off all her curves. It wasn't as if he hadn't noticed Jackie's figure before. He had but tonight in that dress....!
"Thank you," he mumbled, "I must say the same about you. I'm not use to seeing you this way."
"I know but I thought that this was special. It sounded like it was important so I didn't want to embarrass you," Jackie replied, "Besides this is our first real date." She said it in a way that she expected more times like this.
Hank laughed. "I didn't think you would embarrass me. I do think some people might be jealous."
Jackie turned in her seat quickly. "Oh, no, I didn't overdo it, did I? I just wanted to look good for you!"
He laughed again. Placing his hand on her thigh, he said, "No, I didn't mean it that way! You like absolutely stunning. I mean that."
Jackie looked down at his hand. It felt warm and good. She looked back at Hank and smiled. "Thanks."
The one valet helped Jackie out of the car while Hank handed the other the keys. As he walked towards her, she made a quick check of herself. Everything was in the correct place. She took his offered arm and headed in.
The first thing Jackie noticed was the crowd. There were nearly 200 people present, more than she expected. Second was the age of the people. A quick scan of the room made her realize she was the youngest person in the room. They were all Hank's age or older. Some appeared older than her parents. She recognized a few professors but most were unknown to her. She suddenly grew uncomfortable. She held Hank a little tighter.
"You all right?" he whispered.
"Yes, just not what I expected," she whispered back.
"Stay close, you'll be fine."
As they spoke an older gentleman and his wife came towards him.
"Ah Dr. Wilhelm," he said, "Mrs. Wilhelm." Hank turned towards Jackie. "I would like you to meet Miss Jacqueline Morgan. She is participating in the College's program in conjunction with Colonial Williamsburg."
"Please to meet you, Miss Morgan. I hope the program is doing well." Dr. Wilhelm turned to Hank. "I'm glad to see you here. It has been a while, Henry."
As the two men talked, Jackie could feel Mrs. Wilhelm's eyes giving her the once over. Jackie nodded politely to her.
"He is the chair of all the Social Sciences, in a word, my boss," Hank escorting Jackie towards a table. He found their table.
Seated there were Dr. Moon and his wife, Dr. Martin and her husband, and a couple she didn't know.
"I believe you know, Dr. Moon and Dr. Martin, Jackie. This rather grumpy looking fellow is our ancient history professor, all mummies and tombs, Dr. Stuart Folmar. Next to him is his wife, though I don't know why, Betty. She is in the art department."
Dr. Folmar laughed a hearty laugh that seemed foreign to his looks. "It is good to see you, Henry. It has been quite some time since you showed up at this exciting event."
Betty smiled at Hank. "Too long, Hank. What's it been, three years?"
"Yes," Hank replied.
"So, Miss Morgan," Stuart said to Jackie," These two colleagues of mine have told me quite a lot about you. It seems you are quite the student. What they didn't tell me was how young and pretty you are."
Betty punched his arm. "Stu!" and she gave him a dirty look.
The evening was long and boring. The only thing that made it bearable was the conversation at the table. Jackie found it interesting and very informative. She got to see two of her professors outside the classroom. It made them human. She also picked up some things about Hank. What she heard made her want to know more about this man.
Jackie was in the ladies' room when she overheard Betty say to Dr. Martin. "I'm so happy to see Hank out in the world. I do wish the girl he's with was a little older."
"Don't worry about her. They have a lot in common and she appears to have a good head on her shoulders. She's more mature than you think."
"Well, he seems happy," Betty answered.
"He deserves a little happiness, don't you think?" Dr. Martin asked. "You should him at the department meetings lately. He is much more fun than the old Hank!"
"Good and yes I do. Just between you and me, he has picked a pretty one!"
The two women laughed.
"Would you like to get something to drink, tea?" Hank asked.
"Sure but let's get it to go, please," Jackie said as drove off.
"Why?"
"I don't know. I thought we might go for a walk or something. Is that ok?" Jackie asked.
They got their drinks to go and then parked near the colonial village. They got out and walked along the deserted streets. It was quiet and peaceful.
"Have you ever thought you were from another time?" Jackie asked seriously.
"No not really, why?" Hank replied.
"I just wonder if one reason I love history and the period I do is that I lived before. I know, weird," Jackie said.
"No, not really. People believe in reincarnation or déjà vu. I mean its possible," Hank explained. "Do you think that?"
"I don't know, I just think about sometimes. Life might be easier, that's all." She sighed. "I love the styles. I think you would look very handsome dressed that way."
"Yes, but about all that disease and then there is that lack of indoor plumbing," he said, putting damper on the conversation. "No, I'll take what we have now."
They walked a little longer.
"It's getting a little cooler and I don't want you to catch cold," Hank said, "Let's head back to the car."
As they did, Jackie did feel the coolness. She unconsciously moved closer to Hank. Their hands touched and Hank took it. His touch made her feel a little warmer.
Hank walked Jackie to her door.
"I want to thank you," Jackie said, "I had a wonderful time."
"You're just saying that," Hank laughed, "Just a group of stuffy professors. I'm not sure how great it is. Besides you made it easier to take. I should be thanking you."
There was an awkward pause. Jackie thought she should invite him in for coffee but since they already did that she didn't. Her heart began to beat faster the longer they stood there. Hank placed his hands on her hips and she moved closer. She lifted her chin in anticipation.
He kissed her. It was light and short, leaving Jackie disappointed. She wanted more. Before he could move farther away, she kissed him hard. She parted her lips drawing his tongue into her mouth. He responded in the way she wanted. His tongue tangled with hers, sending jolts of excitement through her. She moaned around the kiss.
As Hank tried to pull away, she followed him with her mouth. She wanted the kiss never to end.
"Jackie," Hank said catching his breath, "I think I should go."
His words broke the spell.
"Yes, yes, you should," Jackie leaned back. She didn't want him to but he had to. "But, why?" The look in her eyes was inviting.
"Because, I just better. Thank you again," he said but making no move to go.
Both knew at this moment he had to leave but it seemed neither of them wanted to take that first step. They held hands and looked at each other.
"It would be very easy for me to stay," Hank thought, "And it would be very wrong for me to." He lightly kissed Jackie on the forehead. "I will see you tomorrow at dinner. Again thank you for a great evening." He turned and walked to his car.

Sunday
Jackie looked over at the clock. It read 3:15. She sighed. "This has got to be the worst night's sleep ever," she thought. She thought some more. "No! This might be the best ever!"
After Hank left, Jackie walked slowly through the condo. Her mind and body were awash in wonderful feelings. Kissing Hank had been building up her mind since that night on the deck when he almost kissed her. Unlike most things when a person built things up, tonight's kiss exceeded what she imagined. She had kissed a boy before, mainly out of curiosity, to feel what it was like. This was so different.
She found it difficult to fall asleep as her mind raced. Her body felt alive. It wasn't a sexual feeling even though her nipples were erect and brushed against the blanket when she moved. Her cock wasn't hard but it was swollen. It too sent little jolts through her as she moved. She couldn't explain how she felt. It was somehow beyond sex.
This time as she awoke, she found herself hugging one of her pillows. Her arms and legs were wrapped around it, holding it tightly. She remembered dreaming that Hank was holding her, kissing her. Right now she longed for the real thing.
She got up and headed to the bathroom. "This can only get better!"
Amidst all this euphoria and feelings, Jackie was blind to the 800 lb gorilla that sat in the corner of the room. Soon, it would have to be addressed.
She spent the morning doing some household like her laundry and straightening up. She laughed thinking about how she wanted to invite Hank in not remembering it was a mess. The front door was open to let in the morning sun. It was getting cooler now that it was late October but the sun still warmed the house. It definitely wasn't New England cool! She hoped Amber or Tiffany didn't drop by as she wasn't dressed for company. A college t-shirt, no bra, and a pair of panties was her attire was her usual morning attire.
She hadn't seen much of the two girls or even their friends lately. She had been too busy to do much socializing with them. It didn't bother her as she realized that what they saw as fun really wasn't her idea. She smiled as she remembered what Dr. Martin said about being mature for her age.
Next week was a big week for her. Besides the usual class assignments, her boss at Williamsburg, Melissa, told her that she felt Jackie was ready to be Abigail Adams. By week's end, she expected Jackie to present to live audience. Jackie knew she could do it but it still was a huge step. She flipped open her computer and check her notes. They looked complete. Hank said something in class about all plans fail after first contact with the enemy. Jackie believed more in what can go wrong, will go wrong attitude.
She made her phone call to Kelly this morning. It was shorter than usual as Kelly explained she was going over to Matt's house to finish up their work. It was due Monday and they were putting on the finishing touches. Matt, Kelly reminded Jackie, was her cooperating teacher at the school. Now it seemed Kelly was spending a lot with Matt and was always excited to tell Jackie. When she hung up, Jackie realized that she didn't really get a chance to tell Kelly about last night.
There seem to be some tension between Jackie and Hank at Sunday dinner. Each was overly polite to each other and they avoided being alone together. Wendy mentioned it to Jackie.
"Are you two ok?" she asked, "You're acting kind of weird."
"No, everything is fine," Jackie answered quickly.
"Well, Dad was really happy this morning. I haven't seen him this way in a while. He was humming and whistling. I even had to put up with his dad jokes," Wendy explained, "Now he's all quiet and weird, like you." Wendy gave Jackie a look. "Did something happen between you and my Dad last night?"
"No! No, we just had a nice evening together, that's all. Really!" Jackie replied defensively.
Wendy gave her a look as if she didn't believe her.
"Are you supposed to be giving your Abigail Adams talk this week?" Wendy asked.
"Yes, we want to be there," Cindy added.
"I believe it will be Friday," Jackie answered. "It is the only full day besides Saturday I work so it will be one or the other."
"I think you should practice on us," Wendy exclaimed, "We could critic it and ask you questions. What do you think, Dad?"
He looked at Jackie. "It couldn't hurt."
"All right then, Jackie. Go ahead."
Jackie stood and began. It was hard just doing it not in costume and in a kitchen. She paced back and forward, visualized the audience. She made eye contact with each one but when she looked at Hank, she saw a difference. There was something in his look that said, "You can do this, relax."
She thought about what drama coach told her years ago. "Think of them as being naked" so she looked at Hank. It was the wrong advise. She paused and then coughed. She had lost her train of thought. To get it back, she took a drink of her wine from the dinner table. "Sorry," she said and continued.
"Any questions?" she said ending her talk.
The girls threw her some softball questions and she answered them easily. After the questions, they reviewed it and though there were some suggestions, they liked it.
"You know what I like," Kailey said, "It is your accent. It is not from around here. I guess you have it because you're from New England like Abigail was."
"You mean, "Pahk yah cah in Hahvahd Yahd?" Jackie laughed.
"Not that bad but yeah!" The girls laughed too.
The girls left after their study group leaving Jackie and Hank alone for the first time tonight.
"So what do you think?" Jackie asked, "Will it be ok?"
"You'll do great," Hank said putting the last dish in the dishwasher. He stood up. "About last night..."
Before he could say another word, Jackie threw her arms around his neck and kissed him hard. "I've been dying to do that all night!" She kissed him again.
Hank stepped back. "Wait, I need to say this," he began, "I've only kissed one woman in the last twenty and not one in the last three. I don't know if..."
"You're good enough?" Jackie stepped closer. "Oh you're good!" She kissed him again and this time he kissed her back.
The kiss released all the tension that had been building during dinner. He pushed her against the counter and pushed his leg between hers. Jackie pulled his shirt from his pants and slid her hands along his back. The feel of his skin excited her. Hank broke the kiss and began to unbutton her blouse. Jackie began to do the same to his shirt. She wanted to feel his body against hers.
Opening her blouse, Hank glazed at Jackie's breast. He sucked in his breath. Her breasts filled the soft pink lacy bra, her nipples pushing against the fabric. He cupped both in hands causing Jackie to moan slightly. Jackie pulled him close, their bare skin now touching.
Hank grasped her ass and lifted her onto the counter. Jackie spread her legs and he stood between them. They kissed again, their tongues intertwined.
Jackie's mouth bit lightly on Hank's lower lips. She pulled on it, biting a little harder. It hurt Hank a little but it also sent a jolt through him. He reached around her, fumbling with the bra clasps.
Suddenly they heard a car door slam. Wendy had returned home!
In a panic, Jackie hopped off the counter and hustled to the bathroom. Hank quickly buttoned up his shirt. In his haste, he buttoned it incorrectly. He finished tucking it in as Wendy walked in.
"Hey, you're back early!" he said, trying to act casual.
"Yup!" Wendy replied throwing her coat on the back of the chair. "Where's Jackie? Her car is still here."
"She's in the bathroom."
Moments later Jackie appeared. "Look at the time," she said, "I better get going. Big week this week."
"You sure you have to go?" Wendy asked with a smile that hinted she suspected something.
"Oh yes," Jackie replied, "Look, we'll check in before Moon's exam but I think it will be ok." Jackie looked over at Hank. The look confirmed Wendy's suspicions. "I'll see you on Thursday. Thanks for dinner."
The hot water flowed over Jackie's body. It felt good and relaxing. She lathered up and ran her hands over her body. She touched her breasts and pulled on one of her nipples. She sighed thinking about Hank's touch. Closing her eyes, she slid her hand down to her own cock. She grabbed it with her soapy hand. It began to harden under her grasp. Slowly she began to stroke it, as it grew erect. She stroked it faster.
"Oh, fuck!" she groaned as the feeling grew. She could feel her balls tingle. It had been a long time since she had cum but after what occurred tonight, she needed to. Her eyes flew open and her knees buckled. She grabbed the railing to keep from failing as her cock spurted onto the wall and floor. The wait had definitely been worth it!

November
Jackie made it through her performance with flying colors. Even though the day was cool, she sweated through her blouse and could feel the perspiration running down her back, she did it. Wendy and her friends sat right up front to watch her. Hank caught her eye but sat towards the back. He nodded at her when she went on stage. That simple gesture of support made her feel good.
She handled the questions quite well. One person asked her about Abigail's feelings towards Alexander Hamilton.
Seeing Josh in the audience, she pointed him out. She deflected the question by answering, "I don't know much about young Mr. Hamilton. I know he is on General Washington's staff and the General is quite fond of him. I have heard he is very popular with the ladies."
This drew a laugh from the crowd. Josh stood up and bowed. He looked at Jackie and said, "I hope that Mrs. Adams and I shall become better acquainted in the future."
He met up with her after she was finished. "That was great, especially for the first time. Welcome to the stage!"
Wendy came over and hugged her. "You were fantastic. The crowd really liked you. I would say you were successful."
"No Hahvahd Yahd!" Kailey added in.
She saw Hank standing off to one side and walked over to him.
"Well?"
"Nothing she does fails to impress him," he thought, "From this to her class work to the way she is with his daughter. Just watching her on that stage, he could sense his feelings for her grow. She was very special."
"It was alright," he said seriously.
"Only all right?" She was disappointed in his answer.
He smiled, "Jackie, you were great. For the first time, you were poised and confident. You nailed it. Plus I think for our program, we have picked someone who has set the bar incredibility high. I'm sure everyone has to agree." He kissed her on the cheek.
That simple kiss meant so much to Jackie.
Since that Sunday night in the kitchen, Jackie and Hank have tried to temper their passions. They have joked that sometimes they are acting like naïve teenagers, going step by step, on the couch at Jackie's but both are happy with the pace. What has increased is the depth of their feelings for one another. It has somehow grown more serious and much deeper.
Hank's family certainly felt that way about Jackie.
For Wendy, Jackie had gone from an email hook-up to a study buddy to a friend to something much more. Hank could see the connection being made at Sunday dinners. At first he thought it was an older sister thing as Jackie was only five years older but he realized it was becoming different. Wendy was confiding in Jackie, asking for advise on things other than school, and opening up to her. He thought Wendy's reaction to finding that Jackie spending the night that Saturday very telling.
"So she spent the night here, dad?" his daughter asked.
"Yes she did," Hank answered, expecting more.
"She slept in your bed?"
"Yes she did," Hank replied, "Don't you want to know where I slept?"
"Nope," she answered as she headed to the kitchen, "It's cool."
They invited her to Hank's birthday party and when she got there, she was treated as family. She had already met his sister and parents so they were glad she made it. Early on she found herself seated next to Hank's mother.
"It's good to see Henry enjoying himself again," Grace said, "We were worried about him especially after Jenny died. She was such a nice girl."
"I'm very sorry to here that," Jackie answered sincerely. "From what I heard she was very special."
"She was but it seems he has found someone else, dearie." She tapped Jackie on the arm.
Jackie blushed. "Oh no, we're just friends. He's my professor!"
"Look, dearie, I may be old but I'm not blind. I see the way he looks at you and you at him. Just friends? Fiddlesticks!"
"No, no, I'm too young for him," Jackie replied defensively.
"Age is just number, dear, and don't let anyone tell you different. Mark my words." She then winked.
"So what did you get my dad?" Wendy asked.
"Two things. I think he'll like them," Jackie replied.
"I hope it is not those dumb 'You're 40!' things!"
"No, I wouldn't think of that."
Hank picked up Jackie's gift from the table. "Can I open this here?" he joked.
Jackie blushed.
He tore off the paper. It was a bobble head doll of President Adams.
"It really came from Abigail!" Jackie called out.
"Nice," he yelled back. "I always though Mrs. Adams made him move!" He reached for another one. This one was flat and large. He guessed it was picture of some sort. This too was from Jackie. He removed the paper to reveal a beautiful framed and matted U. S. Constitution. He didn't know what to say.
"No snappy line, bro," his sister shouted out.
He shook his head and looked at Jackie. "I'm speechless. Thank you, Jackie."
Afterwards she slid next to Jackie and whispered to Jackie, "You must be something special to make my brother speechless," She squeezed her hand. "Keep it up. You're good for him."
Jackie mingled around, talking and meeting others. She hadn't seen much of Hank except from across the room. She was anxious to talk to him.
As she walked pass the upstairs bedroom after using the bathroom, she was pulled into it. It was Hank. He shut the door and pushed her up against it. He kissed her forcibly. "I've been wanting to do that all evening."
"You must have read my mind." Jackie kissed him back.
"That was a wonderful gift. I can't begin to thank you."
"You don't need to. I wanted to get you something special," Jackie said.
"Thank you," and he kissed her again. "Now I want to give you something." He led her over to the bed. As she sat on the edge of it, he opened a dresser drawer and took out a small box. He handed it to her. "This is for you."
"Hank it is your birthday, not mine. I shouldn't be getting gifts." Jackie said shaking her head.
"I had this for a while. I was going to wait but I think now is the time. Open it, please."
Jackie opened the box. Inside was a bangle bracelet. It was two tone gold with a center knot. She gasped. It was beautiful. Her eyes filled, as she didn't know what to say. She just looked at Hank and smiled.
"Do you like it? I noticed you don't wear a lot of jewelry but I thought you might like this," Hank said, a little confused at her reaction.
"Oh, Hank, it's beautiful. It really is!" Jackie slipped it on and held out her arm to look at it. As she looked at the bracelet, a feeling swept over her like no other. She quickly tried to make sense of it but couldn't. All she could do was say, "It's perfect" and she was talking about more than the bracelet.

The Decision
Jackie sat cross-legged on her couch, a glass of wine in her hand. It was late and she should have been in bed. She wasn't, as she knew she couldn't sleep. Her mind was racing with too many thoughts. A lot had happened in the past few weeks. Her life was good but she realized at this particular moment she needed to address something. It was something that she thought would never come to pass. It had and she couldn't avoid it.
She took a long drink of the wine.
Her first thought was to blame herself for putting herself in this situation. She could have been standoffish and just went about doing what she came to William & Mary to do, get good grades and learn. Instead she made friends and joined in, enjoying every bit of it. It may have been okay just to do that but then she met Dr. Taylor.
Jackie had always got along with her professors for the most part. Dr. Shaw and Dr. Rose being just one example. She liked them and they liked her. There was nothing wrong or unusual in their relationship. It started that way with Dr. Taylor but it soon developed its own dynamics. It was if their relationships had stumbled into a rabbit hole and they tumbled down it, destination unknown.
It struck her like a ton of bricks this evening. Sitting alone with Hank in the quiet, looking at the bracelet, it all came together. She was feeling something she never thought possible. In this whole journey into becoming a woman, she never thought this was going to happen. She was falling in love with Hank Taylor!
She refilled her glass.
She needed to tell him the whole story and been honest with him. He deserved the truth. If she truly was falling in love with him then that was how it had to be.
"But," she thought, "If I do tell him then I will surely lose him. He wants a real woman, that's who he thinks I am, not this! He deserves better. And then what? Other people will surely find out. They will know I'm not who they think I am. Jackie Morgan isn't real. This program, which they came up with, will become a laughing stock, scandal. It would all come crashing down! And what about back at school? More questions! More problems!"
She took one long drink, draining her glass.
"How could I be so stupid to let this happen?"
She looked at the glass and then the bottle. They were empty, just like her options.

The Moment of Truth
Jackie kept herself busy with all her classes and work. With only two weeks to go to Thanksgiving break, she had much to do. She also realized that she couldn't keep putting off her moment of truth. She kept making excuses and saying the time wasn't right. She knew she was only kidding herself.
They visited Robert E. Lee's birthplace as their Thursday history trip and had dinner. Tonight Jackie invited Hank in for drink. They sat on the couch and he was kissing her. They had done this numerous times. So far it had been limited to above the waist but both knew where it was going to go. The passion could not be controlled forever.
Jackie pushed him away. Buttoning her blouse, she stood up.
"What's wrong?" Hank asked.
Jackie took a deep breath. "Hank, I need to tell you something," she began, "I haven't been totally honest with you."
Hank sat back. "How so?"
"I'm not actually who you think I am." She noticed the confused look on Hank's face. "I really like you, a lot, but because I do, I need to tell you this. Let me finish before you say anything. This is very difficult for me." The words began to spill out. "Up until four years I was someone else. I was Jack Morgan. He wasn't who I really am. I made some changes. I became Jackie Morgan."
There was a stunned look on Hank's face. "So you are telling me you were once a man? That's impossible. I've seen you. I've touched you. I haven't been with many women but you're a woman."
"I am, Hank," Jackie said, moving next to him and taking his hand, "I am in everyway except one. I really like you, maybe more than that, and that's why it is important I tell you this."
Hank pulled his hand away and stood up. "This is a joke, right? A test?" He raised his voice. He began to pace. "Now I get it. You're trying to telling me that it's over." He mocked her voice, "I really like you! Bullshit! I've heard some breakup stories from people but this is a whopper. You were once a man but now you're a woman. Right!"
"I'm telling you the truth, Hank," Jackie said calmly but the tears rolling down her cheeks betrayed her true feelings. "I've transitioned. This is who I am."
"Really?" Hank yelled, "Then drop your pants and prove it!"
Jackie lost it at the suggestion. She stood up. "Get out!" she shouted, "Go away! Get the fuck out of here!"
"Gladly!" Hank stormed out the door, leaving Jackie collapsed on the couch crying.
Jackie went through the next two days like a zombie. She was in a daze and just went through the motions. Her friends noticed and tried to find out what was going on. She brushed them off, telling them there was no problem. It was just dreading the long drives to and from home.
She texted Hank asking to see him but he didn't reply. She noticed he read them but couldn't bother to answer her. Finally she texted Wendy. She explained to her that she was leaving for home early Sunday morning and wouldn't be there for dinner.
Wendy texted back. "What happened between you and my dad?"
"The first domino has fallen," Jackie thought.
"It's a long story. I'll tell you when I come back," Jackie replied. "If I come back!"
Radio was playing an old song by Poison as she turned down the street towards her house. The song summed how she thought. She saw that the lights were on, like a beacon leading her home. Somehow she knew she be safe.
