Hello, all. I would first like to thank you all for the support and feedback on this series. You can consider this as both a recap on what has transpired so far and what might be in the future and me directly talking to you, the reader, and then subtly in the stories.
So I started out envisioning the story to be like 10 parts at most. But by the way it's been going with writing, it's getting a bit more bloated than expected.
So what do we have so far? We have our main character, Hunter/Jayne Johnson; 2 roommates, Lily and Shawnee; Miss Saxton, the dean; and Miss Smith, the HUM 101 teacher. We have a school that has a secret training program that no one knows about. It has many secrets that are hidden from those who get put into the program. People are isolated from their former social lives and families, and no information on why or how no one is looking for them. The women seem to be trained to treat men as sissies and as less than them.
I have read every single comment and have taken the criticism to heart. maybe a bit too much. I've tried to answer plot holes I've foolishly made for myself as people point them out. Usually in the next chapter or the chapter after, some issue that was brought up will be hand-waved away or answered more directly through actions and dialogue by characters. But it is the internet. You can't please everyone, you know.
So let's talk about the main characters and their personalities as I see them.
Hunter/Jayne Our main character was, I thought, supposed to be like a generic everyman character. average in most ways. Not overly a dick, not overly dumb or smart. not overly aggressive or submissive. someone that is very neutral. We all know someone that doesn't let much get to them. go-with-the-flow type. Will speak up when needed but are kind of a pushover because of their helpful nature. Doesn't like rocking the boat. He understands things going on but gets overwhelmed when a lot happens very fast.
I do know that some of you want him to be more pushy, and you are correct that it is natural for someone to be a bit more resistant and aggressive when things like this are happening. I did kind of let that one go by me. I flowed a bit too much between not submissive and a bit more submissive than anticipated. But in the end, he is a calm, analytical character. He won't be pushing too many boundaries of resistance. Sure, he's not spineless, but like in most stories, sometimes the plot needs to happen, and things won't make sense.
Lily is the typical bully archetype. Overconfident and will do whatever it takes to see others suffer as long as she is on top. She will be graduating by the end of the story but a decent amount of time before Hunter's story is over.
Shawnee is the anchor friend for the main character. She is someone to ground him a bit from what's going on. I do have plans for her and Hunter's relationship.
Mrs. Saxton is the dean of the school. She has special plans for the main character, as I have hinted at in the series. She is a basic authority figure but is more like a prison warden character. twisted character.
Any teachers in classes will be named but are secondary characters.
This section will speak about the potential future of the series. So spoilers may be listed, but nothing is final.
So first, I would like to say. I didn't expect the 1st day to be 7 parts. For the ones in the back, THIS HAS ONLY BEEN HIS 1ST DAY there. I expected, like, 3 parts at most. But since we are now done with the 1st day, which has been rough, I know I can finally start doing some time skips. Have multiple days between events happening. This is why Hunter isn't falling into a sissy mindset fast. Training takes days, even weeks, for things to settle in, and he's only been there a day. Will he resist things? Of course.
Now I know part 7 is kind of like torture porn. I admit I might have gone a bit overboard there. But I wanted to let people see the place is not easy to escape or get information outside of the location. I guess I let the comments influence things there too much. Like, oh, I'll show them blah blah. Not good form on my part.
As I wrote each part, I slowly noticed I was adding more complexity each time. I even had to erase whole plot points after reading things and going, "Why am I adding that new thing? You have enough." I'm going to try to simplify the story a little. I have been rapid-firing the chapters when I should probably post a bit less often to let it cook a bit longer and fix things before I publish. Something I've learned that you may or may not know is that a story after submission takes 2 days minimum before publishing to the site for up to 3999 words. That's what one-page stories are, Max. After 4k words, you get a 2nd page, and an extra day is added to the publishing time. I'm mostly writing on my days off work. Then, when I just feel like it's a proper ending point, I end it as best I can. Could I add more? I probably should just take time away and refresh and then write more to a chapter in case I get that shower thought inspiration after going over it in my head.
I have plans for Hunter and Shawnee for the end of the journey. It's about figuring out what happens between here and the end. I might even add another new sissy as a companion. Eventually you will learn about how the school gets away with this program and how no one is searching for the missing people there. Hunter will have ups and downs. He will get some victories. It's not totally hopeless.
Concepts I want you to decide about.
I have ideas for Hunter to meet and interact with the other 3 cliques at some point before the adventure ends. How would you like that to happen? a giant event? One group at a time? recruitment?
Should I take more time between installments or keep your interest up and continue once or twice a week with updates?
Should Hunter resist and act out more or stay the course?
Of course, all about what you are enjoying about the story is welcome as well. I will continue to do what you like while trying to do less of what's not liked. But in the end it is my story. I'm going to add as much of what I enjoy to it as possible. That's all I can think of for now. Thanks again for reading and rating.
