Ultimate Power Ch. 05

I sat there as I looked at everything that I could about her. This one had quite a bit of money as their leader did and no boyfriend.

Yeah, I thought as I went over everything, this one was going to be far harder than the first three. Hmmm, this one was also far smarter than the first three.

She also seemed to be more level-headed than the first three. Yes, she wasn't going to fall for a lot of the things that I had thrown at the first three.

I nodded my head as I went through all that I had gotten from her. This girl was almost as commanding as the main one. I felt a flash of anger flow through me, she would be the hardest of the four.

I knew that their leader was a smart and heartless bitch. Her father had made sure that she was well-educated, probably expecting her to take over.

A small smile came to my lips. I was going to make sure that never happened. Still, I knew that this last one of the four cohorts next to their leader was going to need extra plans.

I looked at the actual number of guards that she had, obviously spooked about the other three. She also seemed to have a higher position than the other three.

For a while, I discarded many ideas that came to me. Then it hit me, the worst way to hurt the rich was to make them poor. Not just poor, but suddenly poor, living in the streets, poor.

I smiled at the thought of it, a fitting revenge against what they had done to so many. Now I thought, I had to devise a fool-proof plan to take it from her.

I was also afraid that this one might also have a more resistant mind to the things I could do to her mind. I mean I was stronger now after all the training I had done though, I wasn't that confident.

Even with the fact that I was almost at fifty miles traveling, I was still a little weak in mind control. I had seen that I had moved up quite a bit, but nowhere as much as the movement.

I started to meditate as it seemed to help almost as much as constant use. Constant use wore me out far faster than anything.

After a few hours, I found that my mind control was better but still a little weaker than I needed. I sighed as I sat there, wondering if I was ever going to be finished.

I had found out earlier that if I pushed really hard it usually helped. The thing with that was, I really didn't want to be unconscious for a whole day.

I tried to relax after concentrating so hard all day. I was worried that I wasn't going to be able to free the daughter of the mother.

I knew that I needed more strength, but I wanted to free her as soon as I could. I knew that I was going to need an ally sooner or later. I was especially worried about the government groups that were after me.

As bad as the ones they had sent after me, I was afraid that they might have far worse out there. I had felt something on the edge of my senses then it was gone as fast.

The thing about this was that there was no feeling of natural ability. I shook a bit as I knew that the man-made induced abilities often drove the users nearly insane.

I shook again as I remembered the mad dog killer I almost had to kill. Luckily, I had rendered him inert, at least I hoped I had.

Yeah, I thought, thought starting to get out of hand, as a moment later I felt the same something on the edge. This time I reached out even harder, feeling another group, a different group.

I gulped as I could feel that these were a bit like the killer I had put down, well out. Damn it, these were seriously hard-core killers that were after me.

It also appeared that they had some serious tech that they had protecting them. The fact that I was detecting them now seemed a miracle.

I managed to destroy one piece of their tech, though it immediately came back with a back-up. Shit I thought, these were seriously protected. I assumed that my training had helped a bit.

I started to push harder, getting several more pieces of their tech, though it seriously depleted me. Shit I thought, as I thought I heard a few screams, I had a problem.

I felt myself fading as I tried to put protection around me. If they found me, I was dead for sure. I smiled as I felt an energy blanket enfold around me.

It seemed only a moment later that I was floating in a gray area. In even less time, the daughter of the other natural user was there.

I wanted to warn you she thought. They have sent an elite group after you, they are nothing but killers.

I know I replied I tried and managed to destroy a bit of their tech.

Oh dear she thought. That might make them come after you even harder. I have only ever felt them deployed once before. They do not stop, and they are well protercted the fact that you got through might make them harder.

Damnit I thought, all that I did barely make me stronger, guess, I need to do more.

You are the first that has ever gotten this far. They must be greatly afraid of you to employ them.

A moment later a voice barely broke through. You might want to come work for us, came the thoughts. That way you might actually survive this.

Yeah, I thought back harshly, I might kill you before that happens.

I heard what I thought was a gasp, you wouldn't dare, his thoughts returned.

Keep pushing, you don't have any idea what I am capable of, I pushed back hard.

Again, I heard a gasp as I grabbed an arm and a leg. I then applied pressure as I felt the both of them snap in several places.

I advise you to leave me alone and I will do the same. I also will not hold back defending myself. I was bullied enough when I was in school, I won't be any longer, especially by a bully like you!

I felt the male scream even more as I started to activate his pain centers, then pushed them to the brink. I almost, almost felt for him as I ramped up the pain as far as I could.

I could also feel the healing they were trying to do with mechanical means. I also felt all the machines fail and break as I pushed against them even harder.

Leave me alone, and I will you also, keep it up, and I assure you that you and quite a few won't survive. I felt the lead doctor as he drew back, that includes you, doctor.

I felt him gasp as I tugged on his pain centers, then he screamed also. Not as fun when you are the experiment, is it? Remember that when you use others as you have.

I started to plant a few things in his head as I withdrew. I hoped that this would make him more humane then smirked. It wouldn't help, it would only slow him down.

I was back in the motel room breathing hard, it hadn't been as hard, but it wasn't that easy either. Yeah, I thought, I was going to have to push hard if I was going to survive.

I awoke a few hours later afraid that they had found me. I sighed in relief when I saw and felt that they weren't here.

I reached out finding them almost immediately, though they had different gear they were using. They were still a great distance away though they had started to edge closer.

I reached out, destroying several pieces of their equipment, then noticed that there was a protected area. I managed to get past this though it took almost all I had. I saw that they knew where I was.

Concentrating as hard as I could, I set fire to the whole section. One tried to get the info off the machine and was severely burned.

I then pushed harder than I ever had, setting the building on fire. This time I saw that several almost didn't make it out.

I was about to withdraw when the leader seemed to turn toward me. I consider this an act of war you will regret, he started then I interrupted him.

I did nothing 'til you came after me. I am far stronger than any you have gone after. I did not want this, but I will defend myself, I thought to him.

Good challenge accepted, he snapped back.

Those that are hurt are your responsibility. I did not want this, but as I said, I will defend myself. You started this, not me, so you are the offender.

We started this? You attacked an agent that makes you the offender, he thought back.

No he, I started, then sent the leader the thoughts I had received from the killer. He was the one that was a killer and nothing else.

Ha! Came the leaders thoughts that was a standard agent, the leader said.

A mad dog killer is not a straight-forward-thinking agent.

Straight forward? No, they have a job and that's all they are that way in order to carry out their mission.

Then perhaps it is good that he has been removed, I thought as I delved into the leader's mind.

I could feel the leader scream as I tried to rearrange parts of his mind. I also felt several guards that tried to push me out to no avail.

It was at that moment that I felt the others with him as they also tried to push me out. I fled as I knew that together they could kill me.

I knew that I was a lot more powerful and could maybe take the leader and another, but not all that I felt. The one that seemed to follow me I smacked back as I heard a female voice scream then fade.

I knew now that I needed to seriously train as these were man-made strengthened. They weren't going to go down as easily as the teams that they had sent.

I sighed as I really didn't want to lose another day passed out. I mean the meditation worked, though not that much.

I started in, pushing for an hour, then I reached out to the daughter. I worked with her for a few hours, getting her almost twice as strong.

I noticed though that her control wasn't as good as her mother's or mine, so I worked on that for an hour. Well, I did 'til the tall man appeared after the control session.

What in the hell are you doing? You can't teach that thing control! Shouted his thoughts.

I could feel that he wasn't completely healed from the breaks I had done before. I smiled as I thought for a moment.

I believe that you don't want to ever walk or use your arms again, I thought to him.

I will be fine, nothing you can do, he started as I re-broke both his legs. I smiled as he passed out this time from the breaks where they had been healed.

I also heard a female further back who screamed when I overwhelmed her healing. She was obviously the strongest they had, though she wasn't nearly as powerful as I was.

I hated that I had hurt her, but keeping the tall man off his guard was necessary.

I then cut all communication as I felt suddenly light-headed. Yup I thought, I had pushed further than I had thought.

I hoped I thought, as the darkness took me, that it would be worth it.

When I awoke again, I was afraid that it was the next day. Then I was surprised when I had only been out a few hours.

I tried not to reach out as that was how this had started earlier. I could still feel them though now, I hadn't had to initiate it.

OK, I thought, this was new, perhaps, I tried to move and found that I felt I was seventy miles away. I also felt that the leader of my torturers was closer. Though at the moment, I didn't know where, I could feel her.

I had to remember where I was, though at the moment I was in the woods where I wasn't sure.

I was back in my motel a moment later, feeling a little out of it. I shook my head as I remembered I hadn't eaten all day.

I managed to get to a diner nearby, getting several plates of food. I was almost finished when I felt her, shit what was she doing here?

When she came into the diner, I knew that she wasn't really here. I mean really, not many real people walked through walls and doors.

I didn't react as she scanned the twenty or so people there with me. I can feel your here your guard has more than doubled. They are monitoring me far closer, so I came here

I sent her a message that her daughter was twice as strong though her control was still weak.

I saw her image startle a bit then shake. Wait, she has control now, my god, she's never had any control before. It is the main reason she's never left where they have her. How much does she have?

I was shocked for a moment as I sent to her that I thought she had about twenty percent, maybe more.

The visage of the other natural user nodded as what appeared to be tears formed in her eyes. There is hope after all, she has hope now. If you can increase her control, please do. I have done all I can to delay them, but I have to give them where you are right now.

I thought as I sent her a message, go ahead, I will be a good distance from here soon.

She nodded as she disappeared. I paid and appeared a few minutes later in my room. I took all that I had brought and stepped out of the room, then vanished.

I appeared several towns over, looking around. I felt that she and the team were further away, though I needed more. I waited a moment, then vanished again.

This time I felt I was a greater distance, though I felt the leader of the girls again. I was further up the East Coast, much nearer to the rich resorts.

Huh, I thought, that might explain why I hadn't been able to find her. With as many like-minded asses, it would be harder to isolate her thoughts.

I shook my head, this was starting to get far more complicated than I, at first thought. I not only had the government after me, but a group of elite killers. Plus, I still hadn't been able to get the last two of the bitches that had blinded me.

Then I had promised another like me, somewhat, to help find and free her daughter. The last I was getting closer with, though I felt I was going to have to kill the tall man.

I also felt that there were several that were there to take his place that were far worse. I sighed this was going to be a bloodbath after it was all said and done.

I really needed the other woman working with me if we were ever going to be free of them. I again shook my head, I had felt a few hundred that didn't include the insane doctors they had working with them.

Yeah, we were going to have to eliminate a lot of assholes before we were done. I also thought that I was going to have to fix her so she could erase minds better than she did.

I wondered if this would be a bad thing as she had a few anger issues within her own mind. I might have to put something in her that I could turn that off if I needed to.

The fact that she was almost as strong as I was at the moment, I might need more than a few triggers in her. Except for more than a few anger issues in her, I hadn't felt much. At least I hadn't 'til just now.

I needed to grow stronger if I was to have a chance against her and her team. I had a good handle or so I thought on the elite team that was after me.

I had the tall man injured far more than I thought he was. It seemed that I was far more powerful than their healers were, meaning he wasn't going to be whole a while.

Though I knew it wasn't right, that thought had me smiling more than I should have been. Even so, I just hoped that it kept him away that much longer.

I remembered that there were a great many that were waiting to take his place that were far worse than he was. I thought about it for a moment, then a plan started to form. I knew that I couldn't kill all of them, but perhaps. With a smile I knew what I was going to do.

The next day, an airman was moving through the base he was working on. Finished for the day, he walked off the base to his favorite bar.

Unbeknownst to him, a man in tattered clothes followed behind him. The airman had far more important things on his mind.

They had notified him that he may have to activate. The current man was injured almost to the point of non-working ability.

The airman smiled as he was going to get him some woman before he worried about it. His unnatural ability allowed him to make them do what he wanted, then disappear with a thought.

That was the best thing he thought, he didn't need a bitch hanging on him about a child that she didn't have. As far as he was concerned, females were only as good as they were in bed.

A small smile came to his face as he thought, yeah, that's all they were good for. I scanned the bar looking for his next victim.

He went through several females, finding that they all had someone there that would miss them. This was starting to look like he might not get any tonight when a woman walked in right after a seedy-looking bum.

Huh, he thought, looks like the place was going downhill as he started to complain to the owner. That's when he felt the perfect female that was walking his way, his complaint forgotten.

After a little small talk, he had the female almost begging him to have sex with him, as they left the bar. Perfect, he thought as they went to the motel next store.

Neither of them noticed that; the man in tattered clothes had followed them, remaining out of sight. Nor did the airman notice that the tattered clothes man, had a glazed look on his face.

Inside the room, the airman already had the woman naked and spread-eagled on the bed. Though she had no will of her own, the airman loved the look of panic that was in her eyes.

She had a little ability; she had nothing that he couldn't overcome. He had just gotten naked, ready to take all that she had Un mercilessly, when there was a knock.

Annoyed, the man ripped the door open, not reaching out first. The tattered-clothed man pulled the trigger on the pistol rapidly three times.

The airman gasped as all three shots caught him near his heart. "How? I should have felt you," the airman said.

I said through the tattered clothes man, "If you weren't a perverted psycho, then maybe. I have seen you type before, the world's better now."

I released the woman, wiping a bit of her mind, as well as the tattered bum. The both of them walked out past the airman who was gasping.

I felt the airman trying to heal, so I froze him as I said. At least now the worst of the replacements are gone, then I felt him bleed out faster.

I left as I had another across the country to deal with. In all, I took out the four that were the worst, though there were at least another twenty that needed to go also.

Unfortunately, all that I had done caused me to be out longer than I wanted to be. At least I thought I was further away so that they wouldn't find him that easily.;

It was another twenty hours before the tall man awoke in more casts. He blinked as there with him was the healer that had been working on him.

This meant that things were getting worse, yet. Then he saw the main doctor for the project also in several casts. Damn it, he thought, they were two of the strongest that they had. The doctor would set them back a few years.

He grabbed a phone beside his bed, then was informed before he could talk that four of his replacements were dead.

He sighed as the next, third, fourth and fifteenth were gone.

How he wondered if the radical, untrained user had gotten that information? Then he thought that they had been in his mind they could have very well got it from him. Though he wondered why had they stopped at four?

All four had been shot by an assailant of undetermined origin. A psyche sweep of the area hadn't found any that hade a memory of carrying out the deed.

The tall man shivered, whoever was responsible for these killings, had learned far more control. He shook his head as he was out of time, the council was demanding that he answer them.

There was going to hell to pay, and they were going to make him the scape goat. If he couldn't get things controlled, his was the next death.
