Ch. 08 - The Spark

Two weeks later, both Cathie and Sarah returned home and were now on vacation with both respective parents. Sarah traveled to a beautiful island and was camping with her parents, having her own tent, which made her very happy. Until recently, her parents still had a room in the main tent for her, but it was not the same thing. The camping park was placed inside a forest on the coast of the island, and everything was wonderful. It was indeed an amazing place for vacations and with very few people spending holidays there, they felt like they had the place to themselves.

Cathie and her parents had traveled to the south of the country, to a rural place where some old houses in ruins had been recovered into very comfortable cottages. Like the place where Sarah was staying, only a handful of people were spending their holidays there, so it was also a great place to relax. Their cottage had two floors, and Cathie had the attic just for herself, as the ground floor would have all the other rooms of the house.

The attic where Cathie was staying had a feature that she had fallen in love with... a round window with a small cushion where one could lie down to contemplate the countryside view or read a good book. It seemed magical and inspirational, and that was her favorite place to be.

As the sun sets, Cathie picks up her smartphone and texts Sarah. They were texting each other every day. It seems that summer had made their friendship flourish to a whole new level, and both were indulging in that new experience completely open-minded and were flavoring each moment of it.

Cathie - [I sweetie... miss you! I wish you were here with me! We went to this old museum today, full of old photos of the old days. Loved the portraits of those folks back then... life was tough, let me tell you... makes us appreciate what we have right now!]

Sarah - [Hi Cat!!!! Miss you moooooooore!!
