Chapter 34: The duke of Frostfeld
Excuse me, milord."
The next morning Corantin was woke up not by Emily's expert tongue work but by the apological words of a maid.
"Hum what is it, why do you disturb master in his bedroom?" the one who answered was Emily, not Corantin, who had recognized one of her junior.
The maid was terrified about getting a massive scolding or worse fired for acting out of line. She struggled to look away from the angry Emily, but after an uncomfortable silence, timidly looked at Corantin again.
She took a deep breath to gather her courage and spoke, "Milord, we received an urgent letter for you."
"Hand it over," ordered Corantin as he extended his hand to take it.
Good day kiddo,
I'm sending this notice ahead because I should reach your estate any day now. Get ready, even if it's you requesting lessons from me, I won't show any mercy.
Count Simon de Vilet
P. S. please, spare me the grandiose welcome I had enough of formalities during the peace negotiations.
Typical of him. Could he stop calling me 'kiddo' already?
"What is it, master?"
"It's a notice from Sir Simon. He wrote that he's about to arrive. Knowing that we should get back to your sister with haste and deal with that errand before he gets here."
Wordlessly, Corantin signaled there would be no morning sex today. Since the maid had left while they were talking, they both left the bed and got dressed.

Corantin had just finished eating his breakfast and was ready to depart. But, before teleporting back to Frostfeld, Corantin had a bad cat to punish.
Once he entered her cell, the lord chained her wrists to her collar making sure any movement would cause sharp pain. Then he put a magical hood on her face. on top of the lack of holes blocking her sight, its magic prevented sound and smell to reach her. After cutting off Amari's senses, Corantin mercilessly pushed her to the training room.
In a rush to depart, Corantin suspended the former warchief with ropes. He spread her legs wide. Then he grabbed additional ropes, attached them to her knees and forced them above her shoulders. He attached the ropes to a pulley and brought his last tool of pain: an anal hook. With the hook lodged deeply into Amari's backdoor, Corantin connected the hook to the ropes holding her knees.
While he was working, the catgirl tried to offer resistance, but robbed of three of her senses, her efforts were futile.
To test his work, Corantin yanked on her legs. The hood was only a one-way muffler and a scream escaped from it. Unhappy with the magnitude of the scream, Corantin moved back to look for what more to had on his still rebellious slave.
His sight landed on steel clamps. He took three of them. For extra fun, Corantin also grabbed a few needles.
Corantin with haste went back to the bound catgirl and put the clamps on her nipples and clitoris. Next, he stuck the needles in Amari's flesh, he particularly made sure to put a few in the sole of her feet. He wanted her punishment to last a few days, the wounds would ensure she would suffer when walking for a few days.
Now happy with his work, he left the catgirl to enjoy her suffering and ran to the teleportation circles room to meet up with Emily.

A while later, the lord and his maid had reached the Berestine manor. They found Vallerie sleeping where they had separated from her the previous day.
Emily shook her sister, and she woke up.
"Oh Emily. Master! I got it! I found how to open the secret passage," she said first sleepily, but quickly her tone because jubilant.
"Good, are you ready to go?" asked Corantin unsure how much rest the woman had gotten.
"I'm all good the old man wasn't gone long. I got plenty of sleep," reassured the woman.
With how energic the woman was, Corantin signaled to the two women to venture further into the manor towards the office.
Once in the office, Vallerie, without hesitating, found the concealed lever actioning the mechanism for the hidden door. The door opened with a loud rumble as it scrapped against the floor. Corantin was not surprised about the noise. The door had to be operated through a mundane mechanism, but he wondered how they managed to hide or avoid traces on the floor. After the door stopped moving Corantin spoke.
"Let's go, we don't have time to enjoy the view."
The trio entered the curiously well-lit passage. Lamps were hung at regular intervals with oil tank full as if somebody had just refilled them.
"It seems our host likes to keep this place clean. A bit vain for somebody hiding to save his asses, although maybe that will save him. If whomever filled these lamps heard the door's noise, the duke will be able to prepare a welcoming committee for us. Stay alert," warned Corantin.
After he said this, Vallerie unsheathed her sword and put out her shield in front of her ready to defend from an ambush. She led them down the spiral staircase. After several minutes of descending the stairs without anything to break the dullness, the attention of all three had gradually faded.
Eventually, Vallerie noticed the landing coming up. She stopped and pointed it out to the other two.
"Did we sight more soldiers?"
A conversation started to echo in the stairs.
"No, milord, but after what I saw yesterday, I asked Ser Lucas to investigate. Somebody came to inspect the manor yesterday, but they can't have left without somebody seeing them."
"What! You know I don't want him to leave the hideout. What are we going to do if they find us while he's gone? You think you can hold armed soldiers." The first voice shouted in anger.
This felt like a gift for Corantin, his target was right there and from his own admission defenseless. He signaled to the girls to attack.
They rushed into the room. Immediately, they saw the duke lazily lying in a couch while a maid fed him his breakfast. When the group barged in, the duke nearly choked with his food.
After a couple of coughs, he screamed, "Who the hell are you! You don't look like soldiers of this whoreson Gallodall"
"Indeed! I'm not. Contrary to him when I set out to do something, I get it done," said Corantin before cutting the duke's head, who never tried to defend himself.
As the duke's head fell to the ground, Corantin turned to the butler.
"Curse on you, do you understand what you did? You just killed the great duke of Frostfeld! The king will have your head. Ser Lucas will hunt you to the end of the world," the butler screeched inn panic.
"You think your king will bother fighting me for such an insignificant ass. He will be happy to get this territory off the hands of this incompetent fool. As for the Swordmaster, he can come if he wishes. He doesn't have any more chance than you and your master."
After these ominous words Corantin sent a wind blade to the butler ending his life swiftly. As the body collapsed on the ground, Corantin looked at the late duke's maid. The poor girl had fallen on her butt and her skirt rolled up exposing her panties while she was frozen in terror. Emily had also noticed that the girl was distressed and moved to help her.
"Are you alright?" asked Corantin after Emily help her regain some composure.
"Yes, thank you, milord," responded the girl.
"Why were you working for this man?"
"I had no choice to stay with him, I need the money from my wage. My mother's sick... and... and my father died three years ago."
"Here, take this it should pay for your mom recovery. Use the rest to start a better life." Corantin said as he handed her a bag full of viclards.
"Thousand thanks milord err..., I don't even know your name?"
"Corantin, and it's nothing I've removed your employer. I don't want you to get in trouble because of me. Now go girl, you don't need to stay here."
The girl followed suit and ran towards the exit. Corantin and his girls followed her out, leaving the corpses where they laid.

Hours later a man entered the hideout and discovered the bodies.
"No, they got to you first. Old friend, I'll avenge you. They must not have found the mark placed on you. Time to hunt.
The man left the hideout and headed South where the death mark was located.
