Being only 4' tall can be challenging. In highschool there were days being that short was brutal. Thankfully, I was past all that now. I was on staff at my old high school. I had completed my training for aircraft dispatcher and had several applications out. I was awaiting a response from any of them. But the day I answered that posting, I met someone who would change my life in many ways. That someone was the girls track coach Angie Trask. I'm Vinnie Cole. That day I was given the posting for the assistant job for the girls track team, changed the course of my life forever.
I knocked on the door that said B-318. "Come in" a woman's voice said.
I saw a tall slender woman in a tan running suit with black hair pulled back in a ponytail. Her olive complexion highlighted her blue eyes. She stood at 6'8" I estimated.
"I'm looking for coach Trask about the posting. I'm Vinnie Cole." I put my hand out.
She turned and smiled looking down at me. Then she knelt down to be at my eye level. She put her hand out and shook mine.
"I'm coach Trask. It's nice to meet you Vinnie, but I'm looking for someone highschool age."
"I'm twenty. They sent me over from central staffing. Here's my employee ID."
"You're twenty?" Angie looked doubtful.
Angie thought, "This kid must really want this job."
"Wait here Vinnie and don't move, give me twenty minutes to check all this out."
"Will do coach." Vinnie looked around as to where he would start.
Angie knew how to check things out and deal with bureaucracy. Doing a six year stint in army logistics at the Pentagon taught her quite a lot in that time. The masters degree in administration that the army paid for helped too. She was back in fifteen minutes. What Vinnie told her checked out.
"Alright Vinnie Cole, the job is yours."
"Okay coach, cool." I said with a smile. "Oh, where do you want all those boxes that are piled up over there in the corner?"
"I was taking them a little at a time to the storage area behind here."
"I'll be right back, I'll go get the Janitor's big cart and move them there."
I was out the door before Coach Trask could respond.
Over the next three hours, I moved, inventoried, organized and labeled each box into the shed.
"Great job Vinnie!" Coach Trask handed me a bottled water. I sat on the cart catching my breath.
"Thanks Coach, I have a handwritten inventory list, I'll enter it into the computer tomorrow."
I handed coach the list.
"Vinnie, If I may ask, how tall are you?"
"4' even, I have dwarfism."
"Did you get bullied here Vinnie?"
"Yeah, I used to when I was a student here. But I got a reputation for fighting back and it stopped.
"If I had to guess coach, I'd say you're 6'8".
"You're close Vinnie, 6'9"."
"Wow a tall lady, you could pick me up easy I bet."
"Yep, so watch yourself, and my name is Angie. So it's coach when we're not alone, and Angie whenever we're alone, deal?"
"Deal." We shook hands on it.
Angie gave Vinnie a smile.
She thought he was cute, with his short red hair and brown eyes.
The next day found Vinnie busy entering the inventory data onto a spreadsheet.
Months had passed and Vinnie found himself really enjoying what he was doing. He liked working with Angie. She always put a reassuring hand on his shoulder. "Vinnie you're doing a great job."
Then one day something happened that changed the relationship between Vinnie and Angie forever.
"Excuse me, I'm looking for Angie Trask."
Vinnie looked up. "Hello sir, Coach Trask is in a team meeting. She should be back shortly."
"I'm Tom Trask, Angie's husband."
"How do you do Mr. Trask, I'm Vinnie Cole, may I get you a coffee?"
"No thank you."
"Sir, you can wait in her office if you wish."
"Thank you, Vinnie."
"Nice to have met you Mr. Trask." Benny put his hand out. They shook hands. "Likewise Vinnie."
Vinnie smelled the alcohol on Mr. Trask's breath. Vinnie took an instant dislike to him.
Vinnie was just finishing up when Angie came in.
"Oh hey coach, your husband is in your office, goodnight."
"Thanks Vinnie, good night, see you tomorrow."
Vinnie saluted, smiled and was out the door.
Angie just laughed as she watched him go.
Angie smelled the alcohol on Tom's breath. She also smelled perfume that she didn't recognize.
Tom kissed her, but she felt nothing.
"It's good to see you Angie."
"I wish I could say the same Tom. Did your latest fling finally throw you out, and that's why you're here?"
Vinnie was heading back to the athletic department office when he heard the argument coming from Angie's office. Vinnie had forgotten something he needed. He ducked around the corner out of sight and listened.
"You're not coming back into the house or my life Tom, the last time you damn near killed me!"
Tom gave Angie a sharp slap across the face that made her stagger back.
"Dammit Angie, that house is mine!"
Vinnie heard the slap. He balled his fists in rage.
"Wrong Tom, it was refinanced in my name to pay for your last DUI!"
Tom stormed out. Vinnie moved further back into the shadows around the corner and watched Tom pass him. Tom just looked straight ahead.
Once Vinnie was sure Tom was further away, he ran to Angie's office.
"Oh Angie, here let me help you!"
Vinnie saw the tears in Angie's eyes as he helped her to a chair. He also gave her an ice pack for her face.
"Vinnie what are you doing back here, and what did you hear?"
"I came back for something I need, and I heard the whole argument. Don't worry, I won't say anything to anyone about this."
"Thank you Vinnie, you're a gem."
"I hate seeing you cry Angie."
"Angie, I'm so sorry!" came the voice behind Vinnie. "VINNIE NO!" Angie implored. She saw his brown eyes turn to flame. In a series of rapid movements Vinnie grabbed a metal stool, spun and hit Tom square in both knees causing him to buckle. Vinnie then used the stool to deliver an upper cut to Tom's chin. Tom was on the ground and Vinnie jumped on top of him. Vinnie broke both of Tom's thumbs and the rest of his fingers on his left hand. Finally the words VINNIE STOP! came through.
Angie tried to pull Vinnie away. He shrugged her off.
Then in a voice that Angie could only describe as demonic, Vinnie spoke to Tom.
"Now you prick, both your thumbs, and the fingers on your left hand are broken. As of now, you can't even hold your dick to take a piss. You come near this woman again, we'll finish this fight. Hell, you may even win. But know this, I'll make you earn everything you throw at me. Now crawl back from where the fuck you came from."
Tom staggered away moaning.
Angie looked at the young man who had fought for her. No one had ever fought for her this way. She saw the love for her in Vinnie's eyes. She had all manor of emotions coursing through her. A voice inside her said:
"This fella sure will fight!"
"I told you I fight, and I don't think you should go home. C'mon you can have my room, I'll take the couch.
"Remember, not a word of what's happened to anyone."
"Yes Ma'am."
"Ma'am", I like that Vinnie, c'mon let's get outta here."
Vinnie watched Angie pull a suitcase out of her trunk, upon arriving.
Vinnie had a puzzled look on his face. "Vinnie it's my version of a bug out bag."
"Here Angie, I got it."
"Vinnie you're a doll, thank you." She mussed his hair and giggled.
"Oh Vinnie, why couldn't you be at least ten years older." Angie said to herself.
After Vinnie got the bedroom and the couch ready, They both sat talking.
Vinnie related the following story:
"A similar thing happened when I was was eight. My father drank. My mom and dad had a terrible loud fight, so loud that neighbors called the police. My dad went after me and mom with an ax. I threw everything I could find at him to get him away from us. The police broke in and ordered him to drop the ax several times. When he turned on them with the ax, they tazed him to no avail. I grabbed my mom and we both rolled away from the line of fire. The police fired once we were clear and killed my father. I protected my mother that night, the best an eight year old could. Just like I tried to protect you tonight. l couldn't stop your husband from hitting you, because I wasn't there. But I damaged the means by which it could happen again. I also explained about my dwarfism and what it has been like growing up. How I was held back a year due to medical complications of my condition. And also how I came to the choice of getting a vasectomy. This was done on advice of doctors and the medical information of the time.
"My god, this kid has been fighting his whole life up to now." Angie thought.
"So Vinnie, what made you respond to my posting?"
"The description sounded interesting, and It sounded challenging. Plus I had seen you around my junior and senior years and always thought it would be cool to work with you."
As with everything, time puts an end to things.
The track team won the state finals. As a result, Angie received a job offer at a university out of state in Chicago. Her divorce was finalized, and shortly afterwards, her ex husband Tom was arrested and convicted in a DUI that killed a family of four. He's doing a forty year sentence.
After five years of working for smaller regional airlines, Vinnie got a job with a major airline. Global Air. They were based in Phoenix, Arizona.
Vinnie and Angie kept in touch. But when Angie remarried, Vinnie and Angie agreed to cease contact. Both came to regret that decision. Angie especially, as she always wondered what could have been, and what ultimately happened to Vinnie
TEN YEARS LATER
Angie sat alone in a one bedroom apartment. She watched the snow from another Chicago winter storm go past her window. She was forty-one now, with a second divorce and no job. She lost her university job due to budget cuts. She sat there staring at her coffee.
She could not understand why she picked such lousy men. Both abused and cheated on her. First Tom, then Frank. The only good thing was neither marriage produced children.
Angie then realized, that the only really good relationship she ever had was with a twenty year old kid named Vinnie Cole, and he was a dwarf and only 4' tall. They got along so good because she was his boss.
"Why couldn't Vinnie have been old enough to marry, dammit!" Angie thought.
"Vinnie would be thirty now." Angie thought.
Angie decided to zoom call her friend Joan in Arizona.
Joan appeared on Angie's screen, sun shining through Joan's window in the background.
"How goes the job hunt Angie?" Joan saw Angie looked tired.
"Awful, I'm competing with a lot of younger people Joan."
"You should come out to Arizona and look, get a fresh start. I'll put you up."
"I'm seriously thinking about it Joan."
For the next two hours the ladies talked.
Angie gave a rundown of her life up to now. Then she told Joan about Vinnie, but didn't mention his name.
Angie told Joan how he beat up her ex husband Tom, took her in. How efficient he was and helpful.
"My gosh Angie, that kid must have been something."
"He was so cute Joan. He had short red hair, and the nicest little brown eyes. He was only twenty and 4' tall, but he has a special place in my heart."
"So what was this kid's name Angie?"
"Vinnie Cole."
"Wait, who did you say Angie?"
"Vinnie Cole." Angie had a puzzled look on her face.
"Hang on a minute Angie, let me get my phone."
Joan scrolled through her photos until she found the one from last years Christmas party. It was a group photo.
"Angie, I know a 4' tall Vinnie Cole!" Joan sent Angie the picture.
Angie's phone chimed. She opened the photo and there was Vinnie.
"Is that him Angie?"
"My God Joan it is!" "He looks just like I remember him." "Joan, please tell me he isn't married or engaged is he?"
"Easy Angie, he's neither. He works out a lot, swims a lot. He's shy, friendly, but quiet."
"Joan, what does Vinnie do?"
"He's an aircraft dispatcher, they do flight planning, monitor flights in progress. He works for Global Air, like I do."
"Joan, I'm flying out, but don't tell Vinnie I'm coming."
"Will do Angie. Text me all your flight info and I'll pick you up."
"Thanks Joan, I'm on the next flight out."
"YES!" Angie pumped a triumphant fist in the air.
Joan set things in motion with the help of Vinnie's boss, John Peck. Joan got permission to use the big conference room on the eighteenth floor. It had high back chairs that totally concealed a person if they had the back of the chair to you.
The surprise was scheduled for friday morning at the end of Vinnie's shift.
Joan and Angie got all caught up. Angie was enjoying the blue skies and mild winter temperatures of Arizona. Angie felt it a far cry from winter in Chicago.
Joan and Angie had more fun planning this surprise. Joan went all out. She installed a voice altering app on Angie's phone, so Vinnie would not recognize Angie's voice when she spoke before revealing herself. Joan even showed Angie the side entrance to the building as well as the back elevator. Joan was taking no chances.
Friday came, Vinnie was glad his shift, and this week was coming to an end, he had forty minutes until his shift was over. It had been a busy week due to unsettled weather.
He heard a beep in his headset.
"Morning Mr. Peck, what can I do for you?"
"Vinnie at the end of your shift, you're to go to the big conference room on eighteen, and meet with an FAA rep by the name of an A. Lucci, they have a few questions about flight seven one five. That's the one you handled going to Fresno. I already sent them all the information, just help them as best you can."
"Will do sir."
Vinnie opened the door to the conference room to find the center chair turned to the wall.
"Hello, I'm looking for an A. Lucci, I'm supposed to meet them here?"
"Please be seated Mr. Cole, I'll be with you in a minute."
"A woman's voice, but deeper Vinnie thought."
Angie was smiling. The app Joan gave her worked perfectly.
Angie turned around. "Hello Vinnie."
Vinnie's eyes widened in disbelief.
"Angie!?"
She wore jeans, a cream color blouse and running shoes.
"Yeah!" Angie ran to him with the biggest smile and widest sparkling blue eyes he had ever seen. She knelt and embraced him.
By the time they got to Vinnie's place, Angie had explained everything. Even the fact that she was now using her maiden name LUCCI.
"Now I gotcha Vinnie!" Angie had him in her arms, carrying him to the bedroom.
Angie gently rubbed Vinnie's belly. "Shhhh Vinnie, I have you now, c'mon."
All Vinnie could do was nod.
Angie turned the bed down and lay Vinnie down. He thought he knew where this was going.
Angie just kept smiling and humming softly. As she undressed him, Vinnie's whole body tingled. The touch of Angie's fingertips on his bare skin made him wiggle. He started to giggle.
"Ah you're ticklish, good to know!"
Angie winked.
When Angie had Vinnie completely naked, she held him close. She wanted to feel his bare skin against her clothes. She thought he was in great shape. He had a swimmer's body. Vinnie kissed her, and started to undress her. She felt his hands go inside the back of her blouse and undo her bra. She started to laugh.
"Ah, you're a boobs man are ya."
Vinnie lifted Angie's blouse and bra over her head and tossed them. oHe began to kiss her. She felt and tasted just just like he fantasized. Vinnie loved her shape. Sucked her nipples gently, kissed her belly button. "Oh Vinnie!"
Angie felt Vinnie's hands move to the inside of her jeans. He undid them, and slid them off as he removed her shoes. Then his hands were inside her panties. He slid them down. Angie kicked them off. Vinnie kissed licked and fingered Angie's neatly shaved vagina. Angie was tingling.
Then Angie wrapped her legs around Vinnie and started tickling him. He giggled and wiggled. But Angie had him firm.
Before he could blink Angie was on top of him. Vinnie felt Angie's gentle touch as she put the condom on him.
Vinnie went slowly into Angie. He took his time. He wanted to savor this feeling.
"Ohhhh Angie!!" Vinnie tried to hold out. But the desire to cum in Angie was too strong.
"Let it flow in to me babe, ohhh yeah!"
Vinnie and Angie lay in each other's arms for hours. Vinnie was so happy just being with Angie.
Angie turned to Vinnie, "That was intense!"
"Yeah and fun!" Vinnie smiled.
"We didn't need the condom, I had a vasectomy remember?
"Oh yeah, now I remember, you should have reminded me."
"I was enjoying the mood Angie, and I loved your touching me there."
The weeks past. Angie and Vinnie were in absolute bliss with each other.
Vinnie couldn't imagine being any happier. The only thing bothering him, was Angie not being able to find a job. She had really been looking and had some interviews, but so far nothing. But he was happy she decided to move out here permanently.
He even told Angie, he was making enough to support them both. But Angie was determined to find a job. Vinnie even tried to help Angie find a job with Global Air. It turned out Angie did have several promising interviews at one company. Angie wouldn't give any details. She told Vinnie she didn't want to jinx anything.
Vinnie was set to pop the question, he had the ring. He wanted to take Angie out, but she wanted to stay in.
"Well here goes" Vinnie saw Angie stretched out on the couch reading a magazine.
"Hey Angie, can I sit with you a while?"
"Sure, c'mon up here." Angie picked Vinnie up and put him on her lap and held him close.
"Vinnie holding you is just what I need right now." Vinnie looked into Angie's beautiful blue eyes.
"I love and need you Angie, please will you marry me?" Vinnie pulled the ring out.
"Vinnie it's lovely, and yes, I will marry you!"
They Both agreed on a civil ceremony. It was just the two of them. Vinnie wore a nice dark suit with a grey bow tie. Angie a nice light blue dress. After a nice dinner, they drove home. Vinnie went to open the door.
"Hold up Vinnie!", Angie put her hand on his shoulder. Vinnie turned with a puzzled expression. "What?"
"Well, it's our first time coming home as man and wife."
Angie laughed and scooped Vinnie and carried him through the door. Both vere laughing.
TWO WEEKS LATER
Vinnie knocked on the door of John Peck's office.
"You wanted to see me Mr. Peck?"
"Yes Vinnie, I'm moving to another position upstairs. I want you to meet your new boss."
Out stepped Angie wearing a dark blue pants suit.
"Hi Vinnie!" Angie just smiled at Vinnie's surprised look.
Vinnie turned to look at John Peck.
Peck started laughing.
"Vinnie, your wife has a master's degree in administration and logistics, she's the perfect fit. All the interviews she had were for my job. Now, you have to listen to her here and at home!" Peck walked out laughing. Angie had a wicked grin on her face. She was sitting behind her desk now. Vinnie turned and looked at Angie with a happy gaze.
"Vinnie, you're really happy about this aren't you?"
"I am, because, I have the prettiest wife and boss."
Vinnie reached over gave Angie a fist bump and a kiss and was out the door, imaging what Angie had in store for him when they got home.
