Masters of the Opera Ep. 2

There is frenzy and mayhem at the Boston Opera House during the production of the Bizet opera Carmen. There is a union strike and very few stage hands and production staff are showing up for work, protesting about low pay. The diva Bianca Cavanaugh suspects that her husband Bertrand Rose the conductor is being magnanimous with the Japanese ingenue soprano Sakura Matsuo because he is sleeping with her. Sakura did not have to work her way up through the chorus and is already getting secondary supporting roles such as Micaela in Carmen. Feeling jealous, Bianca mistreats stage hands and is fighting verbally with Bertrand.

The baritone singing the role of the bull fighter Escamillo, Marcelo, becomes Bianca's new lover. Marcelo takes Bianca to a sex club after she's had a successful first week of performances. At the sex club, Bianca dons a dominatrix costume and dominates a young man who is a fan of her singing who identifies as a beta submissive male. Bianca feels liberated for the first time. Meanwhile, Sakura and Bertrand are working in private to build her voice to become better so she can sing in lead roles and one day become a major opera star. They are in bed together after sex after working on her singing voice and begin to feel genuine love for each other when Sakura tells him the story of her hard immigrant life and facing discrimination for being Asian and poor. Bertrand continues to promise her that she will one day be rich and famous and his next wife.
