LN (pronounced "L N" or "Ellen") worked part time at the express register in a small grocery store at night until closing. Nothing really remarkable about her: she was 52 but looked 10 years younger. She had shoulder length black hair. She had soft skin. She was certainly pretty. Pulchritudinous. What little she lacked in beauty she made up for in cuteness. She was about 5' 4" and was in good shape: she stayed fit practicing martial arts. She weighed 134. She had nice 36 C breasts. She could still turn heads. She was friendly to others, somewhat vivacious, certainly not overvivacious.. She didn't flirt. She was happily married. Content.
Nothing remarkable ever happened at work. That was about to change.
It was about 20 minutes to closing when a tall gentleman came to LN's register. He wore an employee's shirt. His name was Bill. In addition to being tall (6'3") he was moderately fit and decently attractive. He was 55 with distinguished greying /peppered hair. He was no movie star, nor a hunk. But he was attractive enough that women would want him. He was never married. He lived the fun life of an active bachelor.
LN had never noticed him before. He politely introduced himself and mentioned he worked nearby in the produce section and had only been there a few weeks. Their conversation was friendly just like one between any other employees, even as bland as between an employee and a customer. He personalized the conversation by asking if she was a nurse (her name tag read LN). She explained the pronunciation. He said her name was unique and fun. He asked archly if she was unique and fun. She playfully slapped his arm. She didn't make a big deal of the act of touching him. But it was a big deal. They had their first physical contact. They spoke of their work duties. She paid no attention to Bill's overall appearance.
Too soon it was closing time and everyone headed to the exits. Bill was a little delayed. One of his extra duties was to walk each aisle a final time. LN left with everyone else. She was smiling.
When she got home her husband Quin was just getting into bed. Quin was 57 and had the typical body of such. He and LN had met in high school and didn't marry until after college. They never had children. LN and Quin loved each other truly and dearly. They took comfort knowing they would love each other and be happy together forever.
More on Quin. (Not so much moron Quin). He loved LN with all his being. He loved her as a high school crush and his love for her amplified through the years. He saw her body develop from a thin teenager to a beautiful woman. Just admiring her made him happy. He so much enjoyed being with LN. Every moment with her was heaven. And the love was mutual. What a happy couple.
A true story exemplifying their love and their sex: During one of their earliest sexcapades Quin experimented with his oral skill or at that time lack thereof. While he licked her pussy he paused and puckered his lips around her clitoris. He half playfully half seriously blew through his pursed lips as you would mimicking a raspberry or fart sound. An onomatopoetic "prrrrr" or lip purring sound. His lips vibrated around her clit. It greatly tickled his lips and her clit. He couldn't help but giggle at the attempt. He looked up from her muff at her face. She first looked astonished but then broke out laughing at the sound and the sensation.
"What was that!" She chortled. "It sounded silly but it felt wonderful. It was funny. It was fun. You are fun.". They gazed into each other's eyes. Time stopped for them. Their mutual deep adoration and affection was the epitome of love in its truest form. His experiment was a glorious failure sexually but one of their best experiences.
That night they had their usual post workday recollections. LN never mentioned her colloquy with Bill. Why would she or why should she? It was a nothingburger.
But as she lay in bed she thought of him. Just a little.
LN only worked part time, three or four shifts a week, either four or six hours per shift. The next time she worked she honestly was not on the lookout for Bill. She had 99% forgotten about their conversation. Maybe just 90%. As she checked out customers she unintentionally looked at Bill working over at produce. And he was looking at her.
The human body does a lot of things autonomously: without our effort and even against our desires. LN could feel she was blushing and that further embarrassed her, increasing the blush. LN was bewildered: she had no certain feeling that Bill meant anything to her. She cast her eyes down, then to her customer.
Bill, Bill, Bill. It would be nice to say he wasn't a serial seducer; a pussy hound, but he was one. He didn't seduce women for profit, or for epicaricacy (schadenfreude), or to intentionally harm anyone, or to glorify himself. He just had the charm and body to enrapture them and rapture them he did. He was confident but convivial. He developed trust and sincerity. He became their best friend... with great benefits! He was better than average at sex. He could certainly scratch any woman's itch, and most often cause the itch. As often as he wanted.
He had noticed LN at work. He relished at the thought of having sex with her. He wanted to get to "know" LN in the Old Testament Biblical sense, and "know" her as deeply as he could (pun intended). She was on his mind. In his sights. Obtainable.
When LN looked toward Bill again he was gone. LN was emotionally stultified at her feelings... about herself and about Bill. She didn't even realize her loving husband Quin was not in her thoughts. She felt giddish and a little... frightened.
Near closing time again Bill came to LN to chat. As per plan Bill continued with his charm and got LN to talk about herself. It's a common ploy and a secret weapon: if you converse with someone the more a person speaks well of themselves the more favorably they will feel about you. Fill them with love of themselves and all that overflows is good feelings toward you. Bill listened actively to her cheerful self revelations. He encouraged her on. He reeled her in. This time LN did notice his physique: he was no Adonis but he was certainly attractive. Subconsciously she was starting to desire him. Maybe sexually. They talked. They bantered. Their conversation delved into more of her personal life. Nothing about her husband. Bill didn't care if she was married or not. He just established more trust and intimacy. LN was more attracted to Bill. Bill was more attracted to her.
At the appointed closing time everyone left the store.
Bill was still with LN. LN did not try to leave. Bill said " I need to make my quick check through the store. Could you wait for me?". He touched her wrist as he spoke. His hand dropped to her hand. They their fingers intertwined. To them both their attraction was intentionally physical. They felt it.
Quickly he returned. He put his hand on the small of her back and held it there as she walked to her car.
"LN, you are unique. Fun. Special. I really enjoy our little meetings." Bill smiled.
"Bill, me too. You make me feel special. " LN looked down as she blushed. She was silent. She was confused.
Bill spoke: "I want to meet you away from work sometime soon. We need to get together... alone." He gently put his hand under her chin and raised it so that she looked into his eyes. Then he moved his hand to the bottom back of her head and moved his head forward to kiss her. His lips met hers and initially she did not return the kiss. He felt her whole body relax. Her lips parted and their tongues partied.
Lesser lines had already been crossed: intimate conversations, playful touching, expression of desire, but kissing would certainly not pass the "should I tell my husband" fidelity test. She was obviously cheating.
Bill knew what to do. He broke the kiss and said " I love you.". Then he turned and walked to his truck and left. Leave'em wanting more was one of his modi operandi.
It is impossible to put LN'S emotions into words. Exhilaration. Wonder. Dreams. Wild plans. Wild joy. Sex?
She finally regained her composure and got in her car and seem to float home. To her husband. It wasn't until she reached their home that she even thought of him. In fact she had to drive past their house and stop around the corner to calm down and prepare to meet Quin.
Rather than break down from guilt she entered her house still elated and enthusiastic about Bill. About the kiss. But she did not let on to Quin the cause of her joy. She was only 15 minutes late so no big deal. Quin took note of her exuberance and it was just slightly out of place. Her explanation that she "just had a great day at work; nothing special." didn't strike him as sincere. Was she keeping something from him? They went to bed. She couldn't sleep. Her mind was racing with anticipation. He couldn't sleep. His mind was racing with concern.
Unbeknownst to LN she had entered a whole new world and all but discarded her old one. She and Bill had not had sex yet, the zenith of cheating, but it was now her unabashed will. So quickly, easily, and quietly Quin had been forgotten. Removed. Replaced. She didn't think of him or their marriage. Her mind was so consumed by Bill that there were no thoughts of Quin or the 28 years of their happy marriage. It's odd, maybe, that she didn't even realize her near total lack of concern or guilty feelings. LN had transitioned to the life of a cheater.
It's easy to blame the Martian slut ray: it altered her thoughts. It reprioritized some and all but erased others. But it's not that simple or accurate. LN had not become a wanting wanton whore for Bill. She just was overpowered with a great passion to be with him. Not just for sex, but sex included. Her greatest desire was for his companionship. She burned to be his mate; to mate with her new mate.
Bill had played her perfectly that night. He knew that by his flawlessly executed departure LN would do all the mental and emotional heavy lifting and be proud of self-owning the results. She would build a dreamy semblance of their future, probably better than one he could have conveyed to her.
Bill had told her he loved her. Music to a woman's ears. He didn't love her. He did enjoy the chase; the manipulation. He did like her and was anxious to bed her. He had a routine: 1. Approach the target to make a remarkable first impression. 2. Engage in conversations. Get her to open up about herself. 3. Get her to trust. 4. Get her to want to tell more and share more time together. 5. Build an emotional bond. 6. Introduce light or playful touching. 7. When light touching is established work towards sexual touching. 8. After sexual touching comes the sex itself. Always with the other women the anticipation of the sex was better the the sex per se. He would enjoy her soon. For a while.
The seduction was progressing very quickly. Bill was deft. LN was a little daft. It was a type of syzygy, an odd but synergistic pairing.
The next day Quin went to work as usual. LN and Bill were hyper-excited to go to work. At the store they got together as often as possible. They counted the minutes until closing. Bill had a plan.
When they had their now expected pre-closing chat Bill asked LN about the tattoo she had on her ankle. She loved talking about her tattoos and bragged she had another tattoo on her shoulder. Bill said he'd like to see it. LN asked Bill if he had any tattoos. She had a tattoo fetish. He said he did but he could only show them to her in private. That peaked LN's interest. It got her heated.
They held hands as they exited the store and Bill guided her to his truck. He ushered her in. " I'll show you mine if you'll show me yours" Bill teased.
" Show me yours then." LN responded.
Bill unbuttoned his shirt and exposed a tattoo over his heart. "I've got another one lower down " he grinned. He unbuttoned his pants and pulled down the elastic band of his underwear just a bit. He had a tattoo on his pubic region. LN didn't see his penis but see saw his pubic hair. She was aroused.
"I saw your ankle tattoo. Show me your other one." said Bill.
"Let me get to it." she replied. She unbuttoned her shirt down to her waist. She held the front of her shirt against her right breast, keeping it covered. She pulled the left corner of her shirt down over her back shoulder. Her left breast was still in her bra but her bra was exposed. Bill didn't look at her tattoo. He looked at her breast.
" Show me your tits" he ordered. "Take your bra off".
LN took her bra off. Her breasts were magnificent. Her nipples were hard.
Bill took one breast in his hand and began to suck her nipple. His other hand went to her pussy and rubbed her mound through her pants. She was wet.
LN orgasmed. She reached down and felt his penis through his pants. She was on fire to touch it. To pull it out and stroke it. To suck it.
They were both fully aroused. Sex was at hand.
But LN's cellphone rang. It was Quin. He was calling to see if LN was alright and why she wasn't home. Though out of breath she instinctively answered the call.
"Hi honey. I'm almost there. " She said, panting.
" What's going on? Why are you out of breath?" Quin asked.
" I forgot to buy something at work and had to swing by the drug store to get it. When I came out of the store I was hurrying to my car and some nudnick almost ran over me. I'm so flustered I could scream!"
"Well, I'm relieved to hear you are safe. I'll see you in a few minutes. Love you" Quin said.
"See you soon" she replied and hung up. They stopped their sex at hand and she quickly got her shirt and bra back to normal. She looked at Bill and said "I've got to go." Bill understood and did not answer.
When LN got home she went straight to the bedroom. She walked right past Quin. He followed her. They didn't speak until they got in bed.
" Are you ok?" He asked. "You seem out of sorts."
" I'm just tired. It was a frustrating day after work." She huffed. She was thinking about Quin interrupting her sex.
Quin paused, inviting LN to say more. She didn't. He continued "Tomorrow will be better. Let's get some rest. I love you". He wrapped his arms around LN as they spooned.
LN quietly stewed as her feelings caught up with her. She was upset that Quin had ruined her and Bill's first hot and steamy sexsion (sic). "Good night." She humphed.
Quin noted she had not reciprocated his "love you " part of their valediction. He also noted that she had been late from work two times now and both times she acted atypically. He noted too that she said she had bought something at a store but has not carried in any shopping bag. He didn't mention any of those things to her. Yet.
The next morning they were both tired. They barely slept, each tortured by their thoughts. Very different thoughts. Very different tortures. LN was tortured by her great excitement of Bill. A torture of rapturous anticipation. Like the torture a child endures waiting for Christmas. Quin suffered a mentally painful torture.
The next morning LN was anxious to get with Bill again. To somewhere, somehow, resume where they left off before they were so rudely interrupted. She quickly came up with the best way to hook up with Bill. The two times she came home late after work it was only by a few minutes. She easily explained it. Finding the time and place for a proper fiesta fuck with Bill was the problem. Going to Bill's place after work was not an option. It was too perilous, especially compared to the alternative.
LN only worked a few days a week and only at evening or nights. Bill worked full time, during the afternoon and night 2pm to 10pm. Quin worked days full time 8am to 5pm. LN and Bill would simply rendezvous during the those several hours before their work shifts at his apartment.. Voila! Easy peasy! No problemo!
Quin got up the next morning and was turmoiled. He was tired from the mental battle he fought internally all night. "Something is rotten in the state of Demark" he said to himself. But maybe he was overreacting. She was only late twice and not by much. And her temperament wasn't so provocative. He wanted to investigate, to be proactive. He wanted to call her that morning but he decided to contemplate the situation more. He felt like his world was falling apart. He had no idea how right he was. He left for work. He decided he would see LN after work as usual and see if she acted differently again.
LN had already left to run some chores. She left early to get away from Quin. She had said nothing before leaving. She returned home after Quin went to work. She would see Bill later that day at work and present her plan. Would that time would hurry!
She pranced into work. She couldn't even settle into her work station before Bill approached her. Their elation was electric. They got close to each other and whispered. They playfully touched each other. She enthusiastically proffered her plan. Bill couldn't have done it better himself. They both ached for sex.
They made it through their shift. Closing time came. Surprisingly they were modest. It was the calm before the storm. Bill gave LN his address and phone number but only after they swore to use the phone only in the most dire circumstances. They knew they should never contact each other by phone, text, or email. Too risky. And unnecessary. They would simply furtively make plans at work. She thought no one would notice. Everyone did.
LN didn't have a shift the next day. Bill did. Good enough. She and Bill would have morning sex then the rest of the day off for LN.
She was in dreamland when she got home nearly on time that night. She and Quin had friendly conversation. They went to bed. They cuddled. Quin believed he had a wonderful life with a wonderful wife.
LN was consumed with sex-driven want. She did have a thought of Quin.
Quin's love and lovemaking was like a safe harbor.
Bill's lust and sex was would be a hurricane. The strong winds were the result of their combined strong passions. That hurricane would obliterate the safe harbor.
The highly anticipated day arrived when they danced their first unrestrained horizontal watusi. The sexsion (sic) was better than she hoped for. Better than she dreamed. They did the deed and did many variations of the deed repeatedly until they could do no more. Then they cuddled. Chatted. They promised meet again asap. Often. LN left, eager for more.
After that and future sexcursions she would either go home or go to work then go home. Once home her interactions with Quin were perfectly normal. Maybe better than normal. She was always cheerful. And sex with Quin: it dropped some but not alarmingly so.
Sex with Quin was sufficient. It ran the gamut of positions and acts. Various fuck positions : check. Oral giving and receiving: check. Anal: check. Orgasms for her and him: check. He enjoyed shooting his jism in her schism and she enjoyed having a 'gasm in her chasm. But as good and satisfying as the sex between them was, it had become predictable. Blasé. It waned to twice a week, and if they skipped or abbreviated a sexsion (sic again) neither complained.
Sex with Bill was exciting. Exhilarating. It ran the gamut of positions and acts. Various fuck positions: check. Oral giving and receiving: check. Anal: check. Multiple orgasms for her and him: check. Sex with Bill was really not physically much different than sex with Quin. Bill was more experienced and expanded that experience with more partners, so he did have an edge over Quin. But the real reason sex with Bill was better than sex with Quin was... simply... you know why... of course: the novelty and riskiness. Those Quin could not provide due to the familiarity of marriage. So it is unfair to compare Quin's years of married sex sexsions with Bill's exciting illicit new sexsions. They could be equally passionate but only Bill had the advantage of being new and exciting to LN.
Time spent with Bill was bliss. Their conversations, cuddling, and coituses were bliss. Their kisses were sweet and their orgasms were great. And as the ode states: " Ignorance is bliss ". The final line actually reads "... where ignorance is bliss, 'Tis folly to be wise." In this case LN's purposeful ignorance was of her marriage to Quin and to Quin himself. And that ignorance allowed bliss. She had no inclination to be wise. But with Quin his ignorance was not self induced. He didn't know what he didn't know. His ignorance was real but his bliss was false.
Time passed. Not really that much time. It had barely been 3 weeks since Bill introduced himself to LN. Since then she and Bill had cavorted 6 times at his apartment.
Bill was starting to get bored. Initially the sex and the time he spent with LN were fantastic. Their relationship, sex centered, was getting stale. The thrill was waning. The sex with Bill reduced to being no better than sex with Quin.
Bill brought it up first. He told LN their dalliance had been terrific. Very memorable. But he wanted to move on. He made it very clear to LN it was a brief sex centered fling. He had zero interest in any prolonged relationship. She was shocked. She was crushed. Hurt. Luckily she still had Quin. She had all but forgotten Mr. 2nd place. Mr. Replaced. She and Bill agreed to fade their tryst, not suddenly end it. Tomorrow was still a go.
The realization of the end of the affair and the sex thereof, and the companionship, began to sink in with LN. When she got home she was quiet. Her world was collapsing. She was depressed. Quin noticed. He lovingly asked her what was the matter. He held her and comforted her. "Dear wife, anything I can do to help just let me know. Your hurt is my hurt." he offered. Her ignorance of Quin and of their marriage lessened. Their safe harbor would hold.
The next morning they shared a good breakfast before Quin went to work. LN was conflicted. She was still flummoxed and upset that Bill was ending the affair. Yet she was excited for another sexsion with him. She also felt appreciation towards Quin, her loving husband, that she had not felt in a while.
Quin also felt better about LN. Any thought that LN was doing something errant was diminished. Even the mystery about the missing shopping bag from the night she came home late.
That afternoon Quin decided to stop by LN's work to visit her. He was known there. The employees knew he was LN's husband. He was well liked and always took the time to say hello to others at the store.
In the store he saw "Aeneas". Aeneas was his name for an employee there that took Latin in school like Quin did. (First week Latin: "Semper ubi sub ubi ubique" ["Always where under where everywhere". It's phonetic and silly]). Quin didn't even know his real name so Quin called him Aeneas. They enjoyed tantalizingly teasing each other. (Quin's Latin appellation was "Ass-canius". Aeneas and Ascanius are characters in Virgil's work The AENEID). They were in- store acquaintances. Friendly but not real friends. Aeneas walked over to Ass-canius and Aeneas's smile went from a smile to a look of dread. "I have a word... a couple of good Latin based words I need you to cognize. Deeply cogitate. I used to read this word more often as 'appropinquity' but its less archaic term is 'propinquity'. I suggest you Google 'propinquity '."
Quin was puzzled. He was familiar with appropinquity in Latin: it meant to approach or be near to something. Quin quizzed : "I know it has to do with nearness or proximity, but please : what are you trying so delicately to say?" Aeneas looked so sadly at Quin. " I can possibly add the word "Amator". Right now ego ipse have seen LN involved in "propinquity" in more than one form. The "Amator" part is only a great leap guess. I've got to get back to work Ass-canius. I may be way out of line and absolutely wrong. I'm just telling you this 'mano a mano'.". He broke into a big grin. (Latin logophiles would know that it does not mean "man to man" conversation). He was being playfully specious.
Quin hurried to the privacy of his car. LN... propinquity... amator... he prayed those words didn't connect in such a way as to imply LN was doing something bad. He quickly googled "propinquity". Oh Pius Aeneas! He could not bear to hurt Ass-canius, but those words all but killed him. Quin read the definition of propinquity and knew Aeneas had chosen the word with its possibly malicious meanings deliberately. "Propinquity, in social psychology, refers to the nearness or closeness between people, either physically or psychologically or emotionally, which can significantly influence the development of relationships ". Propinquity was an aweful (awful) word. The words LN : his wife, and 'amator": lover, were the icing on the cake or in this case the coup de grace to his emotions. He had to go back to Aeneas. He went back in and Aeneas took him outside.
"Aeneas, don't torture me. This is serious. What closeness? What amator? What is going on?" Quin begged.
Aeneas answered "Let me preface this with a quote from my namesake in the AENEID: "O passi graviora, dabit deus his quoque finem" which translates to "You who have suffered more grievous things, God will grant an end to these as well." I'm just saying I myself have seen LN standing very close to one of our produce employees named Bill. They get together here often. They talk. Sometimes they touch. They seem to be close emotionally. They seek and enjoy each other's company, maybe too much. Other employees have noticed it also. Maybe there' s something going on. Maybe not. But I have to disclose one last detail, and this is going to hurt: the night of the 23rd when the store closed I did see Bill and LN holding hands. They got in Bill's truck in the parking lot. I saw movement in the truck. They did more than just talk. I'm so sorry Quin. I'm so sorry.". He had called Quin by his real name. This was serious indeed.
Quin recognized that as the night LN was out of breath on the phone. Was late getting home. Supposedly bought something at a store but did not bring in a shopping bag. And was irascible towards him.
Quin was gobsmacked and God-smacked. He forgot to breathe. He walked to his car in a fugue. He bawled as no man had ever bawled before. He left without seeing LN.
When LN got home that night she was as cheerful as usual. This time it was Quin who was quiet. He spoke with LN reservedly. His intent was to find out the truth... to see if LN would lie.
All Quin was aware of was her behaviors at work and especially the probable sexual encounter in the truck. He wanted to find out if any other encounters were happening away from work. More risque encounters.
He didn't wait until they got into bed. It was better to converse in the TV room while sitting.
"I'm so glad we have this time together at home. It's refreshing after a long day's work. Has anything new or exciting been going on at work?"
It was so vague LN thought nothing of it. Besides, she had become so comfortable with her cavorting that she could talk about her situation without concern.
"No, nothing new going on. Going to work is the same old same old. Thanks for asking."
"Everybody treating you ok? Working you too hard?"
" Work is work. But I do enjoy it. It gives me something to do."
Quin sensed he was getting no useful information. He pressed a little.
" A few weeks ago you came home from work really upset. I haven't seen you upset in quite a while. I guess you recovered. " Quin paused for her reply. None came.
" Maybe someday before you go to work or on your day off we can meet like we used to. Spend some lovey-dovey time with my lovey-dovey wife. "
"Maybe." Was her one word response.
Quin needed to get in at least one direct poke. "If something was wrong, or something was going on, you would discuss it with me, right?".
LN took a little notice. She had been fucking Bill at his apartment on several occasions and kept it secret from Quin. Moreover her mood was depressed because Bill was breaking up with her. What Quin supposed or was worried about did not much concern her. She just wanted to go to bed and get some sleep. And she said so: " I'm going to bed". She got up and went to their boudoir.
Quin had been stonewalled. She was lying to him by omission. Very unsettling.
LN too was unsettled. Her mind cringed with competing feelings and thoughts. The great majority of her thoughts were about Bill. She was still going to his apartment tomorrow for more sex and some companionship. Of course the breakup with her paramour was paramount. It devastated her. What will her life be like with no Bill to please her? But something else also re-awakened in her thoughts. Someone else. She began to give thought to Quin. To their marriage. Just a little. And just thoughts about how she will transition back to him. She felt no guilt about her affair with Bill. Of course Quin knew nothing about how she had all but totally abandoned him. In her mind Quin had instantly disappeared when Bill took hold of her and Quin would magically reappear when she was ready.
Quin had to get to the truth. He thought about hiring a PI. He thought about bugging her phone and computer and even their house. For all he knew she was bringing Bill to their home often. He now felt that the sex she had with Bill in the truck was not the only time. She was still doing it. So he would catch her. He would start tomorrow.
When they got out of bed they did their usual morning routines. They didn't say much to each other. Quin gave her a quick peck on the lips as he left for work.
"See you soon." he told her. He grinned because he would see her much sooner than she expected.
He drove off but only around the corner. He called his work and said he was sick and needed some days off. He watched their house to see if LN left or if Bill came over. He had a feeling that LN and Bill were meeting often. With Quin being at work each morning while LN and Bill were not at work during those hours it was too easy for them to be meeting then. Quin had always trusted LN and seldom called to check in on her.
Quin waited about an hour before he saw LN leave. She was scheduled to work that afternoon but it was way to early for her to go to work. More surprising was what she was wearing: a nice, fun dress. Something she would wear to a club or an art gallery. Something to impress males.
She drove off and Quin furtively followed. She only drove a few miles then parked at some apartments. The front doors faced the street. Quin saw her get out of her car and get a gym bag from the trunk. She went inside one of the apartments.
The door was unlocked since Bill was expecting her. She had purchased an ensemble just for him, to spice things up. She wore a nice new dress with new sexy bra and thong. Bill stood and admired her. The mental foreplay began, quickly followed by the actual foreplay. LN basked in her arousal as Bill slowly disrobed her. They both were hyper-stimulated and the sex sexsion took off.
At first, due to the new dress and bra and thong, the carnal carnival was great. But it soon dwindled to just another fuck sexsion. They both tried to keep the mood upbeat and one sexsion followed another and followed another. They were both satiated by the three-peat. Tired of the sex, they cuddled and conversed for a while but they both felt the spark was gone. So was the fire. Even the warmth. Bill might fuck her a few more times in the future. If he wanted to.
After their first sex-capades after they were sated of orgasms the excitement carried on with playful fondling and schmoozing. Soon enough post orgasmic time was spent chatting and resting. Still later the post coital mood diminished to simple more quiet relaxation. But now after their sexual exertions they were ready to just get up, get dressed, and get away from each other. Replete, but less so. Certainly not repulsed, but less eager and interested.
Now even the ecstasy of sextasy wasn't keeping the relationship going.
LN felt different. Bill meant a lot to her. She was heartbroken but she would accept the termination. As she and Bill wound down that day's hookup LN began a mental metamorphosis. She had been shocked into a catharsis of sorts.
Three hours later LN and Bill appeared outside the apartment door. She had changed into her work clothes. She set the gym bag down while they kissed and held each other. At first she looked happy enough. Bill cheekily played with her ass. But then they talked more and her mood looked sullen. She wiped away tears. Bill picked up her gym bag and handed it to her. She looked down and walked away visibly distressed.
Quin saw the kissing. The cuddling. The ass play. Hearing she was cheating was awful. Believing she was cheating was terrible. Actually seeing it for himself was unbearable.
He pulled his car near to her, facing her.
Their eyes met.
They both could not have looked more astonished.
At that instant their worlds crashed.
A frisson swept over her. At first it was the chill of being caught. OMG! But the next wave was of love. She she had already begun to think of Quin, of getting their marriage back on track. This situation was a catalyst. It has been said "The best way to appreciate your love for someone is to imagine life without them ". It supercharged her resolve to revive their marriage. It electrified her love for Quin.
Not so for Quin. Having watched her public display of affection with Bill their eye contact caused hate and rage. He would never love LN again. He drove away.
LN got to her car and immediately called Quin. He didn't pick up. She called him repeatedly. She left voicemails proclaiming her great remorse. Her love of him. She begged for forgiveness. She left voicemails and texts. Dozens of them. She went to their home. Quin wasn't there and hadn't responded to her efforts. All she could do is wait. And hope. And think. And plan.
Despite her previous futile efforts to reestablish a relationship with Quin she continued to text and call him. She went to his work to try and talk with him. He successfully avoided her. She quit trying to see him in person. She continued trying to engage with him electronically. She hoped to create a dialog. It was a monolog.
Quin read every text and email. He listened to her voicemails. He longed for some type of indirect contact with her. But he remained unmoved by her pleadings. He soon found them repetitive and boring and lying, but he read them all. LN had no idea whether he was reading her heart felt efforts or not Sometimes she would go through sprees when she would inundate him electronically just because she was depressed. To give herself hope. She did reestablish an anti-relationship with Quin, but it was a unilateral effort. It was a relationship of opposites: she reached out, he stayed away.
She was having clarity. Lucidity. Her disillusions disappeared. She realized that once Bill engaged her she had quickly and all but totally replaced Quin. But now her husband was foremost in her thoughts. First row. First place. Her only true love. Now she had to make her reality the reality.
LN poured her heart out in her voicemails and texts. She was 100% sincere and 100% honest. She made the decision not to lie. She didn't go in detail about the acts of sex, but she did detail how it started, how many times they had sex, and how she felt about Bill. In her mind she completely told all and should be absolved and forgiven for her betrayal. "Know the truth and the truth shall set ye free". Here it was "Tell the truth and it will placate and restore your husband".
More importantly LN was certain Quin loved her so much that surely he would forgive her. He might even sympathize with her fall from grace.
LN had no doubt they would reconnect. Truth sets ye free.... Love conquers all... many quotes and cliches said so.
Dogs bay. Donkeys bray. Cheaters beg.
That's all Quin heard when he heard LN's volumes of voicemails and read her tomes of texts. He was consumed with wanting to know why. And what. He didn't want to talk with her yet, but he did want answers to his questions.
"Odi et amo" Quin transcended:
Catullus, 55 BC: LIBER, CARMEN LXXXV:
Latin : Odi et amo. Quare id faciam, fortasse requiris. Nescio, sed fieri sentio excrucior.
Translation : I hate and I love. Why I do this, perhaps you ask. I don't know, but I feel it and I am tortured.
Odi et amo. I hate and I love. This thought is often used to describe the contradictory emotions a victim of cheating feels. He hates and loves his wife immensely and simultaneously. But Quin concluded Catullus was somewhat wrong. To Quin it should read "I hate, I loved". Now "hate " is in the present tense. " love" should be in the past tense. LN was his first and only love. The overwhelming pain of betrayal desecrated that love.
Quin didn't go home after he caught LN. He went straight to a cheap hotel. He thought about "pleading the fifth" (drinking a fifth) but he knew that wouldn't help. On the third day Quin knew that LN was at work so he took whatever he needed from the house. He was set to live on his own. LN continued to try to contact him. Quin continued to read and listen to them. But not reply to them.
After 4 days they calmed down. Quin simply texted to LN "Let's meet at the house today at noon. " LN was ecstatic to finally hear from him. She had noticed he came by in her absence and took some things. It broke her heart. But now he contacted her. He had not abandoned her completely! All was going to be ok. She return texted " I love you Quin!. Today at noon!. All my love, my Love!" After that text she immediately called and texted Quin some more. He didn't respond.
When Quin came over the mood was subdued. LN greeted him cheerfully. She tried to hold his hand, to kiss him. He stepped back. That was fine. LN had given a lot of thought to what she was going to say.
Quin spoke: "LN, I don't know who you are. Who you became. I did listen to your voicemails and texts. They explained nearly everything. I'm most interested in how you see your future. I'm getting ahead of myself. Please, LN, you have the floor for the next 5 minutes. I won't interrupt. "
She had already explained everything in her texts and voicemails so she was greatly relieved that she didn't have to hurt herself and Quin by speaking of them. It was a godsend. More importantly it gave her more time to express the absolutely most important aspect: how she would regain Quin's love and trust.
She stood and faintly smiled. She hands quivered. She spoke softly. Her throat was dry. "Well, here goes. Quin, I love you. I always have. I always will. I would do anything to not have done what I did. What I did to you. To us. I would do anything to have not hurt you. Bill... I reacted to him in ways I never imagined I would, and never should have. I was queen of the universe of Me. I let my defenses down. I let myself down. I let you down. I engaged with him because I made bad choices. Terrible choices. I had crack of doubt as to how it would affect you; how it would affect our relationship. I thought, stupidly, you might never find out about it or would accept the cheating, or that our love was so strong we would work past the cheating, or that you would see that it was "only sex" and had no impact on our love. The worst truth is that I didn't even consider you. Think of you.
That crack of doubt is completely gone since the true consequences of my choices are now certain and undoubtable. Just like your trust in me is gone. But now I have zero doubt about how my cheating affected you, me, and our relationship. I have first-hand experience, irrefutable proof, that cheating destroyed our relationship. I will never make those bad choices again. I am mentally a stronger, wiser, more resolute wife. I am certain I will never ever cheat again. Never. " She had perked up. She was resolved. Proud. Confident. "Will I ever, could I ever, fail you again? Abso-tively posi-lutely, Supercalafragilisticexpialidouciously not". She smiled and chuckled. Mission accomplished.
That was quite a presentation. Very insightful and impactful. Much to contemplate.
"Anymore you want to say? " Quin queried.
" No. I can only pray I said enough. Said the right things".
Quin began: "Thank you for your honesty and insights, LN. I have a prepared statement but first I need you to clarify some things. ". He already knew almost all of the details through he texts and voicemails but he wanted to see and hear her explain things in person now.
"LN, you told me about the sex with Bill. Let me confirm a few things. Do you miss the sex with Bill?"
LN was uncomfortable with the question. "It was sex. Just sex. The sex Bill and I had was just like sex with you but with Bill. Bill and I did all the things we do and didn't do all the things we don't do. It wasn't wild, outrageous, out of control sex.
"So you did fuck him".
She stared at her feet. "Yes " she whispered.
" You gave him blowjobs?"
"Yes."
"Anal?"
She pleaded: "Please, Quin, don't do this. Don't torture me and yourself. It hurts. Both of us. I was terrible. It's over, Quin. I will never... I won't have sex anymore with anyone but you."
" And you had feelings for him?"
"No, not really. I just enjoyed his companionship".
"I mean you had to be attracted to him some. He's a good looking man. You wouldn't fuck just any schmuck would you?"
" I'm telling you, Quin, the sex was no better than our sex and I was wrong to care anything about him".
"You didn't answer my question, though. Do you miss having sex with him? Being with him?"
" During my terrible time with him yes I stupidly and selfishly enjoyed the time together. I don't miss him now. I told you in the phone messages it is over between Bill and me. Good riddance to bad rubbish."
"But you must have really enjoyed him. You spent multiple hours with him multiple times. You shared multiple orgasms and multiple cuddling times. It was something you wanted to continue. I saw you crying over your break-up."
"Please, Quin I was emotional and I was wrong. We did break up." She said.
" So you say LN. For all I know you had every intention of keeping the affair alive until I caught the two of you. For all I know you loved him dearly. You say, and believe, that you do now and forever will regret cheating on me. But I'm certain that as time passes that regret will diminish. At some point in the future you will be much more forgiving of yourself. You will even look back on the affair first with remorse but then later with some happiness. You will relive the times with him with fondness, even joy and excitement. You will feel that you had the best of both worlds. You were so clever fooling your husband and fucking your lover."
Quin continued :"LN, Bill now holds a special place in your memory. In your heart. You will always be cognizant of him and it will affect you. It will affect us. You forsook me for him. You replaced me. Your opinion of me was shit. Or a rotten bag of offal. Or worse, you didn't think of me at all. It's that abandonment of me that hurts. That scares me about any future with you.".
"Quin you have got to believe me: I love you and will always love you."
"You did lose your love for me. Every time you had sex with Bill you didn't love me. Every time you consorted with Bill you didn't love me. Every time you dressed in a way to excite Bill you didn't love me. Every time you touched Bill and let him touch you you didn't love me. Every time you gave Bill your time, even your thoughts, you didn't love me."
"When I did those things I didn't lose my love for you, Quin. I just didn't think of you good or bad" LN offered.
"Well that's it then. They say the only thing worse than hating someone is to not care about them. " Quin concluded.
"Your promises are written on water or whispered in the wind. " Quin replied. " You must think I am stoopedier that a stupiteer. A rube. LN you destroyed me and our marriage when you picked Bill over me."
They were quiet. LN tried to apologize again: "Quin...." her voice trailed. She didn't have the strength to finish.
Quin wanted some resolution. Some finality.
"You say, LN, that you love me. You no longer love Bill. Let's prove that. Do you work today?
"No" she answered.
"Does Bill? "
"I don't know and I don't care ".
"Do this, then. I want us to meet with your boss. I want him to know about you and do something about it. Call him now."
LN called and got Adam the store manager on the phone. She handed the phone to Quin.
"Adam, my name is Quin. I'm LN's husband. We need to meet with you asap if possible. There is something I need to bring to your attention. Something I and LN need your help with. It involves another employee named Bill in produce. Does he work today?"
'Yes Bill does work today. And yes I will meet with you and LN. What time? " Adam asked.
" One o'clock?" Said Quin.
"See you both then." Adam pledged.
Quin gave LN her phone. "I'll meet you there. I've got things to do first.". Actually he just didn't want to be with LN. He still hated LN for consorting. He welcomed the opportunity to confront Bill.
"Anything for you sweetheart." She was disappointed at Quin's lack of enthusiasm and that they were not going together.
At one o'clock they met Adam in his office that overlooked the store. Quin and LN did not talk before Adam met them. After salutations they sat.
"Adam, " Quin began, " Thank you for meeting with us. We have a problem, the three of us, and we hope you can help fix it. The problem is Bill in your produce department. He has been cavorting with LN at work and away from work. He needs to think more about produce production and less about reproduction with LN. He must stop harassing LN at work, you must stop him."
LN was prepared for the meeting. She had made a decision she hoped would greatly please Quin.
She stood so that Adam and Quin would give her their complete attention. "Adam, I quit. I cannot work here with Bill. It is detrimental to my marriage with Quin. I quit as of now, or if you need two weeks notice this is it".
Adam and Quin were startled.
Adam nodded. "LN... Quin... I'm aware of the situation. Other employees have mentioned Bill's uninvited promiscuous advances at work. It is a problem here. Now LN and Bill are two consenting adults. But Bill is not only harassing LN. This morning another female employee came to me complaining he has recently started harassing her at work. Even worse she says last night he got her to get in his truck with him and he tried to assault her. Please don't quit LN. Bill will be terminated later today."
LN was visibly pleased. Guided by her renewed love for Quin she was doing all the right things to get him back.
When LN was solipsistic during her affair she didn't realize how she removed Quin from her thoughts. Now matters were quite the opposite. Quin was now the center of her universe. LN was doing all she could to show Quin her love but he would not see it.
Quin was not impressed. Yes he was glad that Bill would suffer some sort of karma but Quin had not changed his attitude towards LN at all. His disgust spilled out:" I would call that Bill a stinking sack of shit but that would be an insult to shit. He and LN both".
LN froze then began to cry.
"I'll excuse myself " said Adam. He left LN and Quin in the office.
LN stared at her feet as she cried. She reached over to hold Quin's hand. He recoiled.
He stood to leave. She stood. She tried again to hold his hand. She needed to; she could barely walk on her own.
"Please don't LN. Don't make this any worse than it is."
They took their walk of shame through the store. They went to separate cars. That was the last time they saw each other.
He never wavered. Odi et amo. LN was on the "amo" side. She loved. Love conquers all. But not this time. He odi'd. He hated.
Epilogue
Bill was terminated that day and was not seen again.
LN continued to do anything and everything to get Quin back. She loved him. She continued to live alone in their home. She was certain someday he would return home. She had been obviously oblivious to her solipsism during her dalliance. She fully understood the harm she had done and the pain she had caused. She fully understood it was her fault: she had been extremely stupid and selfish. One could argue she was unwittingly coerced by a serial seducer. She was initially, but most of her seduction to Bill was of her own volition, her own desires and actions. Would that (subjunctive) she had not done so.
When she and Quin had their first big discussion Quin was certain LN was not over her affair with Bill. That Bill would forever be in her thoughts. Quin based his leaving her on that. Quin was wrong. Just as she had told Quin, after the break-up at Bill's apartment door she never thought favorably of him again and in fact extremely rarely thought of him at all, contrary to Quin's belief.
She and Quin had no real closure to the marriage. She incessantly tried to communicate with Quin but he never responded. Divorce was never discussed. There was no discussion about anything. They just lived totally separate lives.
Because Quin would have nothing to do with her she had to start working full time for the money. She was mostly scorned at work except for the pussy hounds. She hated them. She kept to herself. She did not keep up her appearance. She showed no interest in other men at work or anywhere else. In fact she rarely went anywhere else due to the paucity of money, time, and will.
Daily living as an older single woman was a daily struggle. Fortunately or unfortunately she didn't have to live without Quin for long. She soon found out she had cervical cancer. Going through the treatment was very difficult, especially alone. She died three years later. Quin did not know of her plight. He did not care for or comfort her. She died lonely and alone.
After their breakup Quin continued to live alone in his sparse apartment. After a year he didn't want to hear from LN anymore. He blocked her from his phone. Would that his heart had not petrified. After he ended telecommunicative contact he began to somewhat miss her tidings, but he could neither summon the wisdom nor will to allow contact again. He was not so much bitter as he was broken. Not angry but apathetic. He too trudged through work each day just getting by.
He said he would never talk to LN again. He didn't. He said those would be the happiest days of his life. They weren't.
He did not feel joy or satisfaction anymore. They were neither sought nor achieved. Every long day was a cumulus of empty hours. Every long night was worse.
He never visited LN. He did not go to LN' s funeral. He didn't even know about it until he happened to encounter Aeneas a few days after the funeral. He did move back into their old home, though. He didn't remove any of her things. Pictures of them were still displayed. He cried often looking at them. He lived the remainder of his life in their home with her things but without her. Only with memories of her. Of them. What was and what could have been.
LN was a funny name. It was fun. It was special. LN was a funny person. She was fun. She was special. To Quin she was the best. The only one. He could never replace her. He didn't. But there was a very brief time he was not LN's best, not LN's only one, and he was replaced. He couldn't live with that. All told LN had definitely ruined the marriage. But after her metamorphosis, her catharsis, her love for Quin was absolute. She was 100% open and honest with him. She devoted all of her efforts to get him back. Quin. Was he too foolish to not give her a second chance? Too weak? Too strong? Too proud?
Proverbs 16:18, King James Version :
"Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall".
Be it pride or something else the result was destruction.
LN did all she could to show her love for Quin, to deserve to rejoin him. Would that Quin had allowed himself to see LN's efforts, see LN'S love. He could possibly have regained the "Happy wife, happy life".
Quin lived among the ruins of their home. He uneventfully passed away at age 67 also lonely and alone.
Meat meets meatus. Bill's meat met LN's body passage. Multiple times, multiple body passages. What a trash title. What a silly waste of words. What a mockery of both literature and erotica. What a selfish means to end a loving marriage. What a stupid way to destroy two lives.
To the Latin scholars and Literature purists : In the poem "Odi et Amo" it is most widely accepted by the casual reader that the poet Catullus was the victim of the cheating. The actual cheater, and cheatee, are not identified in the poem. In the context of his other poems it is likely that Catullus himself is the cheater, or it is his paramour Lesbia (Clodia), a younger lady.
The poem, solo, in the absence of implications from Catullus' other works, conveys that he is the victim, not a culprit. I'll side with Occam's Razor: the simplest explanation is usually the best.
