WIWAW: Mom, Sex, Guns, and Rock-n-Roll

All About Mom, Sex, Guns, and Rock-n-Roll

I finished and posted Every Girl in Edgarville in March, 2022. It was a successful story, and I turned my attention to my next story as soon as the dust settled. I pulled up a blank document and brainstormed characters and a story and gave it the working title Decision.

Every Girl in Edgarville was light, amusing, fulfilling--all things that Decision was not. The new story had strong characters, but as originally conceived, it was too depressing for me to ever post on Literotica. com.

Zelda was a self-made woman who poured everything into her business. Her husband divorced her and kept their son, Alex.

Flip the calendar forward twenty-something years and Alex is a college student who grew up a middle class family largely estranged from his birth mother. He's one semester from graduation. He shares a house in a university ghetto with two friends and works two jobs so he and his family aren't swamped in debt.

Alex gets a message that Zelda--who he hasn't seen in years--is going to visit. Zelda, now fabulously successful, arrives with Grace, who is her traveling companion and Girl Friday. Grace is about Alex's age, but she's out of Alex's league.WIWAW: Mom, Sex, Guns, and Rock-n-Roll фото

Zelda does unpredictable and sometimes self-destructive things to cope with growing depression. Grace brought her to see Alex in an attempt to keep her out of trouble. She tells Alex that Zelda's greatest regret is that she doesn't have a relationship with him, and that she might fix that by having sex with him.

Zelda drags them all through three days of parties while Grace and Alex grow close. Bars, parties, and sex are interspersed with bouts of Zelda's depressed introspection, and episodes of her teasing Alex.

Alex has sex with Zelda after their third night of partying and the next day Zelda argues with Grace. She sends Grace and Alex away and kills herself, leaving them to pick up the pieces of her life and fortune.

The story gained a new name. From Decision, its tentative title became Into the Dark Night based on one of Zelda's introspections.

I wasn't comfortable with the way the story ended, but other endings didn't resonate for me. I was also uncomfortable with putting that story in front of the Lit readers. To make it worse, I realized that the plot had features in common with a French movie I once saw. I don't speak French, so I didn't know how similar they were, but the suicide of the main character was definitely a common feature.

Into the Dark Night sat on the digital shelf for three years, but Zelda never went away. They were poorly-productive years. I posted only three stories between March 2022 and November 2024. In that time the old story came up again and again.

I broke my drought with stories in late 2024 and early in 2025. My employer of 40+years passed away. I closed my office, and my attention turned to fixing one of the stories I posted to Literotica. com during the drought.

When that was all done I found myself staring at Zelda again. I gave Alex more control. I gave Grace a backstory and a history of trying to get Zelda into counseling. I gave the story an ending I could put in front of the readers, and I gave it all a new name: Mom, Sex, Guns and Rock-n-Roll.

The story still had a major problem. The ideal Mom in Literotica's mom-son stories is God's most virtuous creation, but maternity is the only thing that Zelda had in common with the likes of Carol Brady and June Cleaver. Zelda was bitter and sarcastic. She gave head to a guitarist in a bar to get an introduction to his coke dealer. She masturbated with her gun while Alex had sex with Grace.

Zelda wasn't going away, so almost three years to the day after I first conceived of the story, I started writing to get Zelda out of my head. I wrote clever dialog. I drew pictures with words. I wrote good sex. I even considered changing the name to Blood and Money, but set that aside.

My problems and the solutions were my constant topic in the Author's Hangout. It reached the point where a friend asked if I was the one who was depressed. Maybe he was right. I eventually submitted the story with the knowledge that Mom, Sex, Guns and Rock-n-Roll would probably be my least popular story on Literotica. com. Neither the character nor the story are what the readers want, but it's the story I had, and I gave Zelda all I could.

I'm writing this for closure. It's done. Now I can move on to another story I left behind in my long drought, to Hector Soto and Geisha Shizu and The Girl in the Photograph.
