Kim'ta looked at Gre'ta, then slightly bowed her head. "You have no longer to fear that I will complete my mission. That young girl that he saved is my niece. I haven't seen her in a long time. I thought she'd passed," Kim'ta said.
Gre'ta's eyes narrowed at the assassin for a moment, not believing she'd switch that easily. "I know that family is all to the light Elfs, you are a heartless assassin. I find it hard to believe."
Kim'ta bowed her head to all of them, "Family is everything to us. What he has done has freed the first one of my family in centuries. I will follow and serve him, especially if he can find more."
All but Ella and Bell's mouths dropped open upon hearing what the assassin had said. They were both mumbling under their breath about going home and a promise.
They were lucky that none of the others heard what they had said. They realized that they would have problems if the others realized they were human witches.
Two hours later Dan awoke and looked around, his hands suddenly glowing with a lot of power.
"I told you that I will fight you if you try to hurt me and mine. I have far more power than you think," an angry Dan said.
No one said anything for a moment, then all seven of them looked at each other, then bowed to Dan. WHAT!? Wasn't expecting that, Dan thought.
Gre'ta spoke up first, "Sir Dan, I was sent to ask for your help, as I am sure the rest of them have. Since the humans were driven from this place, a great sickness has befallen the land. You were told of this earlier: the dragons, mer-people, Golems, Felychs, Succubus, all are sick."
En'tra took over, "actually it is almost all races, even the light elves are suffering. Much as we suspect that they are now developing the disease."
Dan was nodding as he listened, "So what does this have to do with me?"
Tygan then spoke up, "There was a prediction from a seer not long after the humans were driven out. In it, it was said that a human would appear with no power and would gain great power quickly. They would also have the power to heal the world of the malady."
This got Dan's attention. "Are all of you afflicted with this?"
He looked at all the eight faces around him, now that he noticed they were all somewhat poorly looking.
"Even the both of us are feeling it Dan," Ella said with Bell nodding her agreement.
"So how," Dan started when Marlena suddenly stood still, a look of concern on her face. "Marlena? Are you alright?"
"It's my father, he's, he's free of the disease! How?" Marlena said as she stared at Dan. She then bowed to him, causing his face to grow red. "Sir, I will do anything for you."
Dan reached to her to help her stand after he told her not to bow. A thin light appeared around her as her mouth fell open. Her skin's sickly color faded as she stared wide-eyed at him.
The other seven women's mouths dropped open. Both Tygan and Kim'ta passed a hand over Marlena. "She's completely free of it," Tygan said, turning to Dan. "Please touch Kim'ta she has it worse than any of us."
Kim'ta backed up a look of true fear on her face. "Just because he healed her, doesn't mean that he can heal all races," she said, still moving back.
All of the females and Dan turned to look at her. "I will not do this if you are afraid, I won't make you do something you don't want to," Dan said.
Kim'ta laughed haltingly, then stood up tall, "I am not afraid."
Dan nodded as he stepped next to Kim'ta, then whispered to her. "I meant what I said: I am not a tyrant, I will not make you do something you do not desire."
This caused Kim'ta to stand defiant, then she grabbed Dan's arm. Dan nodded as he patted her arm briefly, causing a light to outline her body for a few moments.
Kim'ta backed away from Dan as the light was only there for a few moments. They were all amazed as half the scars on her faded. Her skin became healthier looking, though not completely.
Kim'ta's mouth dropped open again, she stared at her arms that were almost scar-free. Tygan passed a hand over her as she nodded, "More than half the disease is gone. You should let him finish."
Kim'ta was still in shock as she nodded her head, though she was still not moving.
"Would you like me to finish?" Dan asked, a small smile on his face.
Again, Kim'ta could only look at her arms, then Dan, nodding her head. Dan smiled bigger as he laid a hand on her arm, the light reappearing. Less than a moment later Kim'ta looked almost entirely different.
Dan then moved through all of the females with him. First Tygan, whose eyes got large, then both the twins who could only stare. Next, the Harpy Shae'ten, then the dark elf En'tra.
Finally, he stood before Gre'ta, "I know that I do not deserve the healing, I understand," then was quiet when Dan kissed her.
All the females there gasped when the light grew bright around the both of them. When Dan released her, she gasped herself, as the scales on her human form turned healthier.
All of them had tears in their eyes as each one kissed him with passion. Again, all of them bowed to him. All of them pledging themselves.
"Why are you all bowing? I am still the same human that I was," Dan said confused.
"You are a hero to all of us. We are all now free of a disease that kills slowly and very painfully. We have all seen those that have succumbed to it, not a good way to go," Gre'ta said, more tears in her eyes.
Dan was speechless as he could only stare at his companions. He then nodded as he looked at Kim'ta.
"Perhaps we can start with all the people from this city that are left," Dan said.
Kim'ta stared at Dan, then almost absently nodded her agreement. Dan had En'tra see the place where the people were as he touched her head.
He nodded at her, then everyone grasped their hands, and they all vanished. They appeared miles away outside an encampment with several hundred people.
Many recognized Dan and they were afraid. It took quite a while for a now healthy Tygan and Kim'ta to calm them.
A great distance away, the Elven king was shocked that only one of the 25,000 soldiers that he'd sent in survived.
The king listened to the leader of the now, all dead, troops.
"It is always the duty of a leader to bring his soldiers back alive. You Commander, have failed miserably," the king said.
"Sire," the one-armed elf started, "let me go after them with better troops. I won't fail you again."
"Oh, I know you won't in five thousand years, no light elf army has been defeated. A declaration that you can claim solely," the king said.
"Sire, I know that I can defeat this threat, even if he has six aspects of magic," the commander said.
"Hmmm," the king said. "Six aspects of magic, that's good to know. Do you know what they are?"
"Sire, I saw fire, water/ice, two aspects of light, dark and air. Those are the ones he attacked with," the commander said.
"Ah, so I see. This will make defeating him easier then, the information was useful", the king said.
"I just need stronger troops, that way we will not lose again. I will not fail you again sire," the commander said.
"Oh, I know you won't commander, as a matter of fact, you have earned a special reward. Arise to receive it commander. You lost all your soldiers, and you alone survived," the king said.
The commander stood tall as an extremely hot wave of solar heat instantly dissolved the man. The floor where the elf had been standing had also melted, so quickly that the commander hadn't even screamed.
The king smirked as he said, "There commander, you can honorably join all those that died and you didn't. That I feel is all the reward that you deserve, a one-armed, pathetic, loser."
The king called all his advisors who had been cringing outside the room. They had heard what had taken place and were afraid that they were next.
The King turned his slightly maddened gaze upon those that entered the room. His gaze was slowly drifting back toward sanity, relieving those present
"I want you to gather a small army of a hundred thousand. It is time that we take out this human before he gains more power. It seems he has two witches, a light and dark elf, a Harpy, a dragon and a mer-person. I want all of them, and the human especially, dead as soon as possible," the King spit.
"Sire," a somewhat muscular elf said, stepping up. "If they are as dangerous as you have seen," the elf started.
"They are dangerous, far more dangerous than anything we have faced in over five centuries! Never doubt my word! I was there when the last humans were driven out, they are nothing but evil," the King said.
"Yes sire," the large light elf said. "Should we not surround them with 100,000 troops on each side? That way, they cannot escape before they are dead."
A truly evil smile came to the king's features, this was a sound plan. "Yes, that is a great plan, I am so glad that I thought of it."
"Yes sire," the large elf said, trying not to sound exasperated. To do so was instant death, not even his superior magic was a match for the King. "I will assemble the troops as soon as possible."
"Yes General, you do that, this plan of mine is perfect. Do all that you can to stay hidden, the human can use shadow step," the king sneered.
"I will do all that I can, Sire," the large elf said.
"Yes, you do that, we don't want to lose another commander, do we?" The king asked, looking at the melted marble spot on the floor.
The large elf shook a moment, then nodded, then smirked. "No Sire we do not."
"Good, I am so glad that we understand each other," the King said with another evil smile.
The large elf left as soon as possible, feeling lucky that he had survived. Especially as soon as the last commander had been vaporized.
It took well over three hours for Dan to heal all there. An hour of that was just calming all there down.
He was glad that Kim'ta got to visit with her niece and the girl's mother. It was then that Dan found out that most of her family were prisoners of the elf king.
Apparently, they were the insurance to keep Kim'ta doing the King's bidding. Dan had a hard time keeping his temper at bay the more his anger grew.
They had moved closer to the dark elf mountains as they were not far from the dragon's keep. Not far past the dark elf cave system, the Dragon queen called.
Your majesty, Gre'ta, bowed. I was about to call you, we are on our way to you.
Queen Ad'ella gasped when she saw Gre'ta's healthy skin. He has healed you, hasn't he? Has he agreed to help all in the Dragon keep?
A wide smile spread across Gre'ta's face as she nodded. He has, especially when he said that the Dragons are more in need than any other race.
Oh, thank the Dragon Lord! Please tell him, the queen started, then was interrupted by Dan.
No thanks are needed, Queen Ad'ella, I do this because it is the right thing to do. I am going after the Elfin King, I feel that he is responsible, I'll either make him stop or get rid of him," Dan said.
The Queen was shocked that Dan could see and hear her. I and the Dragon keep thank you, Lord Dan.
Dan waved her off as he said, just Dan, your Majesty, I am but a simple man, he said, bowing.
No sir, you are far more than a simple man, the queen said.
Dan blushed up 'til now, he wasn't used to praise, especially when he didn't feel he deserved it. "I will do all that I can when we get there."
Dan walked away as Gre'ta talked to the queen a bit longer, then they started to walk faster.
Dan was thinking of a way to move faster, as he hadn't been past here. He hadn't, but he was sure some of them had.
"Gre'ta, can you see where we are going? I might have a way to get us there faster, for now, I just want to try, you and I," Dan said.
Gre'ta nodded, "What do you need?"
"Just think of where we are going, think of nothing else, or it won't work," Dan said, then waited.
Gre'ta closed her eyes, thinking of entrance her home. Dan touched each side of her head as she shuddered at his touch. They were like that for five minutes, Gre'ta getting more and more turned on.
Then, without a sound, Dan nodded, the shadows wrapped them, then they appeared at the entrance to the dragon keep. Gre'ta's mouth dropped open, not believing that they were here that fast.
"Alright, I'll be back soon," Dan said, then vanished.
Gre'ta called the queen, letting her know that they were here. The queen had just walked out when Dan and the other seven females popped in.
The queen's mouth dropped open, she'd heard of the shadow step, though she had never seen it.
Spotting Dan in the front, the queen bowed to him with tears in her eyes. Maybe, just maybe they were saved, she'd wait and see. Some hope was, of course, far better than no hope at all.
Dan bowed to her, then placed a hand on her. A bright light surrounded her as her scales and skin grew healthy again.
"Now," Dan said, "I heard you were in need of assistance?"
The queen was staring at Dan, her mouth open. She hadn't felt this well in hundreds of years. Then she felt like an idiot as she nodded her head vigorously.
The queen shook her head as she led all of them to her private chambers. Bear the back wall in a very warm draft, seven eggs sat on pedestals.
Dan's eyes examined them for a moment, then looked at the queen. "I am unsure as to what the problem is. May I touch them?"
The queen nodded as she bit her lip. Dan noticed this and was very careful as he touched all of them. He frowned as he felt that they were growing far slower than they should.
Dan shook his head, then looked at her, "They have stopped growing though, I can't tell why. I can try to help them if you want, though I have to do one at a time."
"As long as you are careful," here the queen's lip quivered. "They are the last of the royal line."
Gre'ta gasped when she heard these words. "You can't anymore?"
"Well, I was sure up to today," here she looked at Dan. "Now I am no longer sure."
Dan nodded as he put his hand on the first egg, feeling the weak life inside. After a minute, he felt the egg stir, then at two he started to feel movement.
Dan looked at her, then nodded his head as the egg started to crack. Less than another minute later, a healthy baby dragon girl rolled out.
The queen stared her eyes wide in disbelief. Dan looked at her with a questioning look which she vigorously nodded yes to.
Less than an hour later seven baby dragons were rolling about her chambers, yelling for food. "Do you have the strength to do others?" the queen asked him as the babies bumped his legs.
Dan nodded as he was taken to a huge room that had several hundred dragon eggs. He stared for a moment, then started to run to an egg at the back of the room.
He placed both hands on it, feeling the life steadily fading away. He actually started to glow, as did the egg. Sweat broke out on his face as he was struggling to keep it alive.
At two minutes, he breathed easier, then reached to the egg next to it. Again, he glowed as the second egg started to glow.
He finally took his hand off the first egg as it started to move. A minute later the first egg cracked as a baby male dragon rolled out. It looked at Dan with a look of confusion, 'til a female dragon rushed to it.
He nodded to her as he placed his hand on a third egg. Dan blew out a breath as these were the three that were the worst.
After the two female dragon babies hatched, Dan had to sit for a bit. It had taken far more energy to save the three babies. The rest, from what he felt, were far from being in danger.
Dan spent the rest of the day getting the eggs to hatch. He estimated that he'd done at least five hundred. Strangely enough, there were four hundred fifty females and only fifty males.
He was surprised that he was as tired as he was, then he remembered how hard the first three had been. It seemed that those had taken more than half his energy.
He had a great many of the dragons bowing to him when he passed through the halls. He hadn't even healed the adults yet, which worried him.
There were still a few females that looked at him with hope. Laying down he was far too tired to attempt anymore at the moment.
"Dan?" He heard several voices call him. He looked at the door to see the worried faces of all eight of his companions. The queen was right behind them, a huge smile on her face.
"You have brought new life to the keep Sir Dan. We should leave you to rest, you need it if you wish to continue," the queen said.
Dan nodded as his eyes started to close as each female kissed his lips and departed. He was slightly awoken as a warm body got in bed with him. He reached out grasping a pair of breasts, a soft sigh letting him know who it was.
God, he thought, the body felt so good it had been too long since he'd had company in bed. He awoke more than ten hours later feeling beside him. When he felt nothing, he thought he might have imagined it.
Going to eat, he touched all the dragons he saw healing them. Then he started back in on the egg hatchery. He noticed that many of the same females were there, waiting hope in their eyes.
It took the rest of the day to finish with the last one thousand four hundred ninety-five that were left. He'd managed to heal at least twenty of the adults, though he was almost too tired to lift his arms.
Again, he dropped like a rock as soon as he was by the bed. A look at the doorway showed that all of his companions were there worried about him. He smiled and waved to them, waiting as each kissed him.
Like the day before, he was slightly awoken by a warm body that slid into bed with him. He smiled as he reached to grasp a pair of breasts. The body turned toward him with a sigh, then he thought he felt hands in his pants.
For a short time, he thought he felt a warm sensation around his penis. What the hell he thought, though, that feels fantastic.
Awaking the next morning, he felt far better than he had. Remembering what he had felt, he found that he was clean, a growing mystery.
It took him far longer than he thought to heal the rest of the adults than he thought it would. All of them were bowing now when he passed them. He shook his head, he'd just helped, he wasn't royalty.
Back in the palace of the elfin king, the elf was raging about the news, randomly killing elfs here and there. His spies had reported that the entire blue dragon keep was healed and all the babies were alive and hatched.
If word spread that the Queen Ad'ella's keep was completely healed, the rest might request help.
No, he thought, this couldn't happen. It was bad enough that Ad'ella was whole, she was as strong if not more than him. He had to get the human before he could do more damage to his plan.
The king nodded his head, he had to kill that repulsive human before word got out. The king alerted his new commander as to where the human was. I want you to kill him, kill that piece of shit, before he heals more dragon keeps.
He has healed an entire keep. Came the thoughts of his commander. Will they be a problem?
Even though they had a successful hatching, I think that they will be far too busy with babies. Just kill him and those rebellious females with him. No mercy, no compassion, kill them, kill them all! The king raged.
What of the dragons? Shall we eliminate them?
After you kill the human and those unforgivable females, yes. Use every poison, flame, and destructive spell that you can. No mercy. I want all of those traitors dead!
A twisted sneer came to the Commander's face as the magic of the king infiltrated him. His thoughts were filled with the insane thoughts of the king. Nothing but death would end this mission.
Another sneer took up residence on his face as he thought of the human dead and broken at his feet. Ah, he thought the sweet smell of death, rot, and decay. This time a wide smile replaced the sneer; it was a damn good day to bring death.
Dan awoke the next day, then got up to eat. He was amazed at the three-day transformation. The keep was so alive now it was like day and night. He had to watch out a few times as he was nearly knocked down by hatchlings.
He shook his head as he sat to eat, then was surprised when he was approached by Gre'ta and Queen Ad'ella. "Uh," the queen started, not quite sure how to breach the subject.
"Have I done something wrong? Does the clan wish for me to leave?" Dan said, a look and feeling of concern on his face.
Ad'ella's face showed horror, "No, you have nothing wrong, though we have had a request."
"A request? So, I have done something wrong. I was afraid of that, I'll leave," Dan started.
"No! This is a request from another clan. As we said, all the keeps with the clans are suffering. The red clan has heard of your success, they wish your help also," Ad'ella said. "We have also heard that the elf king has troops hunting you."
Dan nodded as he asked, "Has anyone been there before?"
"I am from there," a different-scale patterned dragon stepped forward.
"Will I and my companions be safe there?" Dan asked.
The different dragon turned as a vision of another dragon appeared. "I am Lo'than, king of the red, keep you will be safe."
Dan nodded as he told the red dragon to think of his home. A few minutes later they appeared in a dim and dark cave area. Dan nodded, then vanished for a few minutes, reappearing with his companions.
There was a growling as they turned, and there were more than a hundred dragons with spears and swords there. "So, betrayal is the red clan's way I see," Dan smirked. "Kill me then and remember when I die, you will all die. I am the only cure for the disease."
