Depths of Chaos Chapter 2

This story is part of a series. Although it can be read on it's own, parts of the story may make more sense when read in order. I highly recommend reading the story "The Demon" in order to discover the origins of our beloved Kali. Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoy.

Kali's fork picked at the pancakes. It had been too late for a normal restaurant, so the agent had suggested a diner that served breakfast all night. Another blessing of her powers, she could eat all she wanted. In fact, she found she needed to eat more than ever before or she would run down more quickly. That implied that her power was fueled by her body. If that was the case then what accounted for the hunger?

She knew the answer, but Kali was afraid to admit it. The feeling, as she rode her ultimate orgasm and sucked the demon's very essence, was something she could not duplicate. Even as she had drained the hapless man who had tried to take her, it had been nowhere near as satisfying. The demon may have lost everything in his attempt to corrupt her, but it had been successful. The only question that remained was, what that meant for her?

Kali knew, with great certainty, the fate of most who had been corrupted by demons. When a person who was bound to a demon died, their soul fueled the monster. Like all things, and Tral'zla'thor could catalogue a number that lived in the physical and spiritual worlds, demons needed to feed in order to sustain activity. Unlike most species, however, demons couldn't die. When they reached a certain minimum energy level they simply froze. Very few demons managed to escape such a fate. Even if summoned, they would be unable to provide the simplest services. Without that ability, they would never gain the soul, or part thereof, to fuel them to greater tasks.Depths of Chaos Ch. 02 фото

Demons on the verge of such a fate often turned themselves into 'imps.' It truth, an imp is nothing more than a very weak demon. They would ally themselves either to a much more powerful demon or any form of mystic. They would have little or no claim to their master's soul, but they would be paid a constant trace of power in compensation. The demon could never grow powerful on such pitiful amounts, but a few, very skilled ones, had rebuilt themselves to their former glories in that way. Most were simply content to remain imps rather than freeze.

Kali had no idea why she thought about such concepts. It still frightened her that she had the knowledge in the first place. It was one thing to have gained a demon's powers, but she had gained its knowledge and memories too. What was worse, she could remember how he had felt while committing some truly heinous acts. The only thing that kept her from going mad was the fact that she knew she didn't feel the same way. She felt guilt for even the slightest crimes.

"If you don't mind my asking, how did you get this way?" The PIA agent broke Kali's morbid contemplations between bites of corned-beef hash. "To be honest, I'm not entirely sure what 'this way' even is. I know there is something unique about you." The man stopped for a moment and realized exactly how that sounded. He started to blush. "I'm sorry, I sound so clinical. I'm sure you're a great woman and there are so many things unique about you. It's just that I'm used to dealing with the paranormal when it, if you'll forgive the generic pronoun, knows it's paranormal."

Kali didn't look up. "Should we really be talking about this in public? Aren't you guys supposed to be keeping knowledge from getting out or something?"

The agent laughed. It was a deep, friendly, sound that inspired her to smirk slightly. "Yes and no really. We don't hide the truth, so much as let humanity think what it wants to. Oh, sure, some of the races, like the Dhase and Sidhe, actively police themselves in an effort to remain hidden, but most of the world doesn't really want to see the stranger side of life. Humanity has developed a strong case of ostridge-ism. So we let them. Along those lines, anyone who wanders by is likely to think we're discussing a new game or movie. But then again, this is a diner, so no one is likely to be paying attention to us."

Kali nodded, without looking up, but didn't really believe it. Although, she had to admit, no one had ever given her more than an odd glare when her body unexpectedly reshaped itself in public. "So, if you don't even know what I am, how did you know where to find me?"

A glance up revealed that the man blushed an even deeper red. The color didn't suit his blond hair and brown eyes. The hair, Kali was surprised to note, wasn't a crew cut, or some other para-military style. Instead, it was almost 'long,' in the way that the Beatles had 'long' hair early in their career. He wasn't bad looking; very fit, with strong lines.

"Actually, I was looking for a killer. It happened in the area, so I was checking out the local clubs in hopes that I would find something. When I saw you, I didn't think it was you, but given that I'd seen nothing else out of the ordinary, I felt I could take the time to find out more about you. I'm sorry if I scared you, but I figured the only way to skip over a long scene of trying to convince you that I knew you were, well, you in the alley was to pull my gun. I really didn't intend to hurt you."

"You don't even know what I am. How do I know you won't try to destroy me?"

"PIA doesn't have a very good rep in whatever circles you've been traveling in, does it?" Agent Pie's hand began to reach across the table. Kali couldn't help but flinch. He smiled sadly and pulled his hand back. "We don't go around 'destroying' everything that's not human. Almost everything just gets left alone. Sometimes we'll keep an eye on someone, or something, in specific, but even that's pretty rare. The only time we hunt anything down is when it's killing people and it's too big for the cops to handle; demons mostly, although occasionally lycanthropes or rogue Sidhe."

There was the problem. Even if she wasn't a demon, she had the powers of one. Once he knew that, he would have to destroy her. That was what the PIA did to demons. Kali felt her back begin to tremble and her eyes flew wide. She didn't exactly know what had begun, but she could guess. She stood and nearly pushed the table into the agent. "I'm sorry, I have to go!" Without further explanation she bolted for the door.

She heard the agent call her name, a couple of times, as he struggled free of the table. But Kali was out the door long before he could get to her. She felt a little guilty that he'd be stuck with the full bill. It was an odd thought, when she considered that he would certainly try to destroy her, but she couldn't help herself. On the other hand, the need to settle the bill would delay him even further.

Kali stumbled as her back seized in pain. This was more than a minor transformation, something major was about to tear through her body. It had been a couple of months since she had suffered through something like this. When she had morphed her body, behind the club earlier that night, the power had been fully under her control. As she dropped to her knees, and doubled over in agony, the power now controlled her.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Something was very wrong. Simon knew that immediately. At first, he had simply put it aside as her fear. Many of the races feared or mistrusted the PIA. That was understandable, they were humanity's defense against the supernatural. If you met one, it was a good bet that they were looking for something that threatened humans. Granted, it could also threaten virtually every other race in both the physical and spiritual realms, but that never seemed to dawn on many of them.
Simon pulled thirty five dollars from his wallet and slapped it on the table, even as he wriggled from between the table and booth. That should be plenty more than enough to cover the meal, along with a decent tip. By the time he reached the door, however, she had disappeared down a side street. He smiled sadly, and shook his head. He didn't know if he should even try to follow her. The poor girl was terrified, and he didn't even have proof that she'd done anything wrong. In fact, he was pretty sure she had absolutely nothing to fear from him.
He found himself on her trail anyway. Almost no one could truly escape from a PIA agent. They could follow a person almost indefinitely, when they used astral projection. In that form they moved with the speed of thought, a feat which only a Dhase could match in the physical world. Now, however, Simon did not need to track Kali with that ability. He could sense the energy that had begun to radiate from her in the diner. Whatever her abilities, he knew she had only loose control over them. As her energy began to bleed out, she had tried to contain it. Unfortunately that had been like putting a lid on a pot of boiling water. All it did was to hasten the danger.
Whatever Kali was, she was in danger. He knew she was a danger to those around her, but somehow, it mattered more to Simon that she was in danger herself. He couldn't help but feel she was truly innocent, and under the sway of things far beyond her understanding. He felt her power grow more sharply. He raced around the corner, into a dark alley, and skidded to a stop.
She had begun to change once more. It was again that mysterious change that Simon had never witnessed. No, that's not exactly true. I've seen things change that smoothly before, but never in the physical world. Spirits morph like that quite frequently, but the laws of our universe should prevent it altogether. It was said that changelings were once spirits that had been brought into the physical world, just as a few Sidhe could still bring their bodies entirely into the spirit realm. Once here, they could still draw upon their inherently magical nature to transform, but the limitations of physics slowed the process drastically.
As Simon watched, in awe, Kali clutched her stomach and doubled over. He could tell that it was her shoulders that hurt though. The dark fabric of her tight shirt seemed to part. It was as if two razor sharp knives cut perfectly straight lines down her back. Nothing but the fabric was damaged, however, and even the edges along each new hole seemed to curl under, as if the holes had been tailored into the shirt from the very beginning. The holes revealed the perfectly smooth, white, skin as her muscles strained with tension. Simon nearly staggered backwards.
Kali lay on her stomach on a bed, completely naked with her legs firmly together. The position prevented him from seeing anything other than the pillowy round globes of her butt and the strong bones of her shoulders. She pulled herself upward, to lean on her elbows. Her head turned to look over her shoulder at him, with a glimmer in her eye. He could see just the side of one of her perfect breasts, the rest blocked by her body and arm. "Are you coming to bed Simon?"
Simon's hand reached for the wall to steady himself. Once more he stood in the alley. Kali knelt, doubled over and faced away from him. As his heart raced, he was relieved to note that her clothes remained intact, apart from the two slits in the back. Correction, three slits! A third hole had appeared, only this one made his heart stop. Very low, in the center of her very tight, black, leather skirt, another hole now showed the red string of her thong, as it escaped her wonderful butt.
His eyes widened as the true change began to occur. Simon's mind refused to comprehend the protrusions that grew out of her skin, at the center of each of the holes. The barbed tail seemed to lengthen before his eyes, until it was nearly four feet long. The string of the thong simply shifted aside, slightly, to accommodate the new appendage. However, as fascinating as her tail was, not to mention the derriere that surrounded it, it was her back that quickly drew Simon's gaze.
At first he thought her shoulder blades had broken free of the muscles that held them forward. Simon quickly realized, however, the a second set had begun to expand from her body. They grew straight upwards. Like the tail, they simply seemed to lengthen, but grow no bigger around. As their growth began to slow, he noticed the flesh of these new limbs began to darken. His mind balked at the obvious nature of them. When they suddenly snapped open, he could no longer deny what they were. Simon circled her, as the wings fanned outward and stretched against the bounds of the leathery membranes between the boney veins.
Simon fell to his knees as he rounded in front of her. In her pain, her arms had uncoiled, from around her stomach, to press against the paved floor of the alley. Tears streamed down her cheeks. He reached out to brush a few away with his thumb. Kali's eyes flew open at the light contact. He saw her horror. It wasn't the tears, but that fact that he'd obviously witnessed her transformation. Her body tensed for flight. "Please! Don't." He couldn't keep the desperation from his voice. It was more than his curiosity as a PIA agent, and certainly more than the visions that seemed to plague him around her.
If this was the nature of her powers, at least in part, she needed to learn the proper way to control it. He wasn't sure if he knew how, but he could sense enough of her energy to know she had just failed to control it. She had done the exact opposite. In her attempt to bottle the power she had hastened its descent. "Please, Kali, I think I can help you understand this?"
Kali slumped back to sit on her feet, as she knelt. Her tail snaked about her waist. Her body virtually disappeared when her wings folded to wrap around her almost protectively. The lower ends dragged across the ground. He couldn't get past what she looked like. Her full, shoulder length, black hair curled outward at the tips. Her thin lips pressed together, pink, without a hint of lipstick. The strong, curvaceous, body and tight, goth clothing only completed the look of a modern, demon, seductress.
Only her green eyes broke the image. He could barely see them, framed as they were by her long bangs and her wings. They still glistened with unshed tears. She held a pained desperation that he couldn't imagine in any tales of a succubus. Where every aspect of her body beckoned his, her eyes called to his heart. Even her voice sang to his soul. "I don't even know what I am anymore."
Simon shook his head. "I'll be honest, I've never heard of anyone like this in all my years. I'll have them check the records, but I don't think there has ever been anyone like you before." His heart dropped as her eyes left his. He could see the tears bulge heavily, prepared to escape once more. He quickly continued. "That doesn't mean that I can't help though." Her eyes returned to his, and for the first time he saw hope. His chest swelled with warmth that he could return that, which had so obviously been lost.
"If there's never been anyone like me before, how could you possibly help?" The words might have been desperate, but he could hear her desire.
He relaxed before her, to mimic her position, with his hands on his thighs. He hoped he could reassure her. "To the best of my knowledge there hasn't been anyone like you. That doesn't mean I'm right. Although I'm well informed, and very well read, there are researchers who have done nothing but study the PIA records. Only they could state for certain. And even if we have no records, that could simply mean that any others managed to stay hidden."
He hoped his smile was friendly, although he feared he couldn't keep the visions from affecting his expression. He blessed that they had stopped, but his mind continued to paint pictures which now added her wings and tail. Fortunately they were nowhere near as vivid. "The abilities might be unique. But the energy behind them is the same as much else in magic. And that I should be able to teach you to control."
His heart raced as she wiped her eyes with the back of a hand. Once clear, nothing but hope filled them. She nodded and Simon couldn't help but beam. "Great! I could start immediately! If you come back to my hotel room..." He stopped suddenly as he realized what he'd said. His body screamed in triumph and he nearly panicked as he hoped she didn't realize the nature of some of his thoughts.
Her eyes widened. Fortunately, she glanced at her wings and then at the street behind her. He understood the nature of her concerns. She didn't fear to follow him back to his hotel, she simply feared the public's reaction to her new body. Simon stood and extended a hand to Kali. "Come on, I think you'll be surprised."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Kali couldn't believe it. She had walked over a dozen blocks, and the worst response she'd gotten was a few lewd remarks. She hurried forward to catch up to Agent Pie. She couldn't bring herself to walk next to him, and settled comfortably a step behind him, off to one side. "You weren't kidding about them not wanting to believe were you, Agent Pie?"

His head swivelled to look at her as he continued to walk. He smiled. The warmth of the expression sent a shiver through her, one that she was very glad the wings obscured. "Please, Kali, call me Simon."

"Okay, Simon." His smile widened. Kali was glad it was dark when she felt her entire body flush at the sight. She nearly panicked, again, when she felt the rush of blood, and all that warmth, settle uncomfortably between her hips. Her body didn't care that he was over twice her age, it only knew he was very attractive. She had to admit, the person within seemed to be equally appealing. Unfortunately, she'd been fooled before. Equally grievous was the fear that intimacy might destroy him.

"Thank you." She had no time to react as he smoothly dropped back to walk beside her. "Here's the thing," Simon begun as he looked across their shoulders, "they believe what they're told. As we, as a species, lost our ability to see the spirits, they lost their belief in them. With that, they forgot that other things inhabit the world around them."

"But what about me?"

Simon shook his head. "There's the thing. No matter how much influence religion has, we're now in an age of science. People are more likely to believe a scientist over a priest. Unless, of course, it's about God himself."

Simon's hand came to rest on her back. The simple touch arced down to feed the growing furnace in her core. But it was the light brush of his arm against her wing that left her nearly breathless. Never before had anyone touched the demon spawned limbs before. Kali had almost no experience to form a comparison, but she suspected that only one part of her body would be as sensitive to such a light caress.

The placement of Simon's hand held no sexual overtones, however, as he pushed lightly and guided her to the building next to them. She only had a moment to glance up at the front, but what little she saw was impressive. Although the architecture was fairly bland, it was huge. She found herself fly through the glass doors and nearly stopped in her tracks. Only Simon's presence kept her moving, and he slowed down to let her gawk.

What the exterior lacked in style, the lobby more than made up for. Everything seemed trimmed in gold leaf. Dozens of red velvet couches were scattered across the floor, liberally laced with glass coffee tables. At the center of the cavernous room was a fountain with an immense statue of an angel. Between the symbolism, and the intensity of the lighting, her anxiety sprung up once more. Everyone here would realize this was no costume and fear her for it.

Simon seemed to sense her anxiety, since she felt his hand press more firmly against her back, The cool, slick, feel of his leather jacket against her wings sent a shudder through her. The only thing she could equate the sensation to was when her nipples were tormented. However, the feeling hadn't occurred as they dragged across the pavement when she knelt. It seemed to be exclusive to living contact, or perhaps just his.

With her head down, she hurried over to the elevators. Although Kali did receive far more disgusted looks, none held the malice she would have expected if they thought she truly was devil spawned. All these people saw was a very elaborate goth costume. As the two waited for an elevator she turned to Simon and kept her voice low. "So do the werewolves and vampires just walk around as they are and no one thinks twice?"

Simon's smile was contagious. She no longer could figure out why her demonic memories thought the PIA would shoot on sight. Perhaps it was her human seeming. She could accept that she might be attractive, but with the wings and tail, she currently had a very seductive, mythical, quality to her. "Lycanthropes and vampires don't actually change shape." Even as he said it the term 'Dhase' popped into her head, and she knew that they had no fangs, for lack of need.

Kali's knees nearly buckled as electricity raced beneath her skin. It took her a moment to realize Simon had not just brushed, but actually caressed, the sensitive membranes of her wings. The sensation joined the cauldron of heat that already roiled in her core. She felt her muscles clench with need for him. Distracted by the battle to control herself, she almost missed his question. "So why didn't you simply retract them as you had before?"

Guilt and embarrassment pushed some of her lust aside. She looked down and carefully avoided the mirrored wall before her, that might let him see her shame. "I've never grown these before. At least not that I remember. And usually when I change, it only lasts a minute or two. I've never had it last for even five minutes before. I was ready to run into an alley if I felt the change coming back."

"It's okay Kali. We'll... I'll help you with controlling your abilities." This time, her knees did buckle. She felt her depths pulse with anticipation and knew that she had begun to leak. His hand left her wing to wrap around her waist, under her wing, while the other quickly reached for her near elbow. She saw his eyes widen with concern. How could he not smell the lust that wafted from between her legs? The smell was so thick she could nearly taste it. Yet, he obviously though she was near to collapse.

The doors slid open and he helped her in. She had never realized how much accidental contact occurred between two people. Now, every slight brush against Kali's skin was a flare, although only those against the unfamiliar wings and tail caused her need to grow. This wasn't even the hunger. This was simple, animal, lust.

When he managed to settle her in a corner, where she could prop herself up on the railings, his hand cupped the side of her face. A gentle, compassionate, warmth spread from his touch. "Are you okay?" She knew he would not accept any platitudes, but she couldn't admit the truth. She shook her head. "Is there anything I can do?"

Kali wanted to tear off his clothes, throw him to the ground and ride him. Better still, he could tear off her clothes, pin her down, and stroke her new wings as he thrust deep into her. She shook the thought away. Under the best of circumstances, he would be her mentor, and that kind of relationship would wreck that. Of course, the most likely outcome would be that I would simply drain his very existence.

"If there's anything I can do." He turned her face to his with another of those compassionate smiles. Suddenly, the moment their eyes met, his brow furrowed in confusion. Then a hint of concern entered his expression and she wilted. As she turned away from the hurtful gaze, she noticed something odd in the mirror. As she turned to study it, her own eyes widened in terror. That only served to accent the horror.

An unearthly red flame flickered within the whites of her eyes. Kali staggered backwards. She felt Simon's arms wrap protectively around her. The flames, which had begun to fade, flared to renewed strength in an instant. It wasn't for a moment, when she felt her legs buckle beneath her, that she realized what the fires signified. With his body pressed against her back, his every breath rubbed the soft leather across large patches of her wings.

She spun away from him. The car shook as she crashed to her knees in a corner. She held herself as she rocked back and forth. Two footsteps thundered closer and she threw up a hand, behind her, to ward him away. "Please! You can't help with this, and if you touch me, I think it'll only get worse." She saw him nod in the mirror.

The door opened, and she followed him out. Walking had become uncomfortable, between the tight muscles and her, now, soaked underwear. Simon kept casting concerned looks over his shoulder. Being unable to alleviate her trouble had become a form of torture for the poor man. Unfortunately, Kali suspected there would be very little he would be able to do in general. After all, he himself had admitted that the PIA had never known of another to suffer her fate.

Simon's room was amazing. As spacious and accommodating as it was, the agent only seemed to have moved into the small space that surrounded the bed and TV. At a guess, he hadn't even noticed the fully functional kitchen. His head cocked to one side as Kali rushed past him to explore the room. As expected, everything in the kitchen still had the final touches of the maid service. This would be how she could reward him for all of his kindness, she could use this kitchen to make him dinner.

Inspired, Kali rushed to the glass door. The air caught under her wings and flowed inward across her skin to sooth her. She grinned, as she felt a little of her excited tension flow away through her rapidly twitching tail. So, they at least had their blessings. The door slid effortlessly open, and she poked her head out. Her eyes widened and her wings fanned with her awe. She looked over her shoulder at Simon. "Did you know you have a hot tub out here?"

He laughed at her antics. Even though directed at her, it was a lighthearted laugh, one that she seldom heard since she was a very young age. She waved him over. He moved across the room, obviously only humoring her. That expression shifted to wonder as he realized she had told him the truth. The very same laugh now erupted from her mouth.

Simon moved onto the patio and patted a bench, while he moved to the one across from it. She followed his lead and leaned forward, interested in what he might suggest. Instead, he took a track that she should have expected, and dreaded. But she understood. "From what I've been able to understand, you weren't always like this. In fact, whatever happened, happened very recently. Well, I know that most powers tend to appear at puberty, if not earlier. So unless you've altered your appearance enough to pass as an adult, something traumatic happened. And even if you have altered yourself, I need to know that too. In short, I need to know how you came by your powers, and what their extent is, if you know."

Kali couldn't look at him. As stupid as it felt, she couldn't help but blame herself for the entire thing. Sure, she tossed the blame at the guys, at Vanessa, at the demon, but that was only to cover her own feelings of culpability. She had gone with a large group of guys that she barely knew. She hadn't run the very first moment they released her. And, worst of all, she had finally relented to the demon. Even though her soul cried out to stop it, finally, her body had reached for him.

"I'm sorry if this is hard Kali. I'd imagine it would be. Coming into new powers usually is, but that yours somehow appeared relatively late in life, it must have been traumatic to learn to control them. And that doesn't include my suspicion that an especially traumatic event caused the powers to surface."

"It gave me the powers, they didn't just surface." Kali's voice was barely a whisper, but she knew he could hear her as he leaned forward to focus his attention on her. "Last September, I was hanging out with some friends. Well, I thought they were friends." She stopped and took a deep breath before she could continue. It didn't work, she didn't feel any more relaxed. No one else knew.

"When we got to the park, the guys grabbed Vanessa and I. Neither of us knew what the hell was happening. I don't think she ever got the chance to know because they cut her throat." Another deep breath. It didn't help. Another. A lump had formed in her throat. She couldn't swallow past it. She could barely breath past it. Her eyes burned. This time, when she took in a deep breath, it was to hold back the tears, not simply to allow herself to go on.

No one would have believed what followed next. Kali knew this man would. He was trained to hunt the very thing she had seen. Unfortunately, it was part of her now, or at least the last part of it that remained. Wouldn't he need to destroy her in order to remove the last traces of it. This wasn't a possession, so it couldn't simply be exorcized.

"The blood soaked into the earth, and a black cloud began to billow upwards." Kali's eyes widened as they flew to Simon. "The demon lashed out and killed all of the men who had tried to summon it. Something, no one knows what, broke the containment wards and let the thing free."

A thousand emotions rampaged through Kali. Simon, this man knew! Had he known all along? Was this some sick game, to toy with her and get her to admit that she had been there? Had he been there? How else could he have known the little details about her blood and Tral'zla'thor's entrance. Most demons had a unique method of summoning!

"My God!" The agent jumped from his seat and knelt before her. His hands cupped her cheeks and turned her face to look at him. His brown eyes were wide with surprise and pity. "You were there! I thought the name Vanessa sounded familiar. The agent we sent to investigate it never found a trace of Tral'zla'thor, and no one witnessed the scene. We thought it had killed all of the witnesses and fled."

She hiccupped, and all control shattered. Her sight wavered, then fled, behind the cascade of tears. She couldn't breath past the sobs. Simon leaned forward and wrapped around her back. One hand pressed against the back of her head and gently guided her to his shoulder. She collapsed. Kali didn't hear the words he crooned into her ear, as he rubbed her back and held her.

She didn't know how long she cried, but finally her breath evened out, long after the tears themselves had stopped. Simon slowly released her. He backed up, but his hands trailed down her arms to hold her hands. She appreciated that he remained close enough to offer more comfort, should she need it. Likely she would. She still didn't know if she could admit the rest.

"He must have bound your soul if he let you live. How did he... no, wait, this was Tral'zla'thor, he raped you didn't he?" Before she could reply he squeezed her hands and continued. "He did it carefully enough that your mind would have been too fogged to even resist, and your body would want it, but it was just as wrong as if some kid had slipped you ruphies, or took advantage of you when you were drunk." She couldn't meet his eyes, but she nodded her response.

"But that doesn't explain the powers Kali. You have some of his abilities, but I know he isn't possessing you. How could he have possibly..." After a moment of silence, Kali couldn't help but look up. Her heart froze at the sheer horror in Simon's eyes. She felt her own begin to burn once more, but her body had no more tears to shed. "Dear Lord Jesus." His eyes hardened. "Tell me!"

"I don't know!" Kali's voice squeaked. "He didn't know! He thought he had me. I writhed on the wall, I'd never felt anything like it. It was what he had wanted. But suddenly something happened and I said no. And he was gone, but not gone. He'd vanished but left his memories and powers inside me. And I couldn't control them because they're not supposed to be controlled because they don't belong here so I ended up changing almost constantly for months just like he had when he chased me into the alley only he could control them and I can't!"

As the words spilled out of her, she looked away. She couldn't bear to see those gentle brown eyes burning into her. She couldn't bear the accusation that she had set everything up just to gain the demon's power. After she was done, he stood. She didn't look up as he left the patio. She didn't know what she would do now. She thought about throwing herself from the many story building, but remembered she had wings. If the crowds could deny what she was when seeing her in person, they wouldn't if they saw her fly. And she wasn't sure if she could keep herself from using them.

Simon came back out onto the deck with his cell in hand. "Okay, so here's the deal, I'm taking a little time off. What? No, well, sort of. But everything's fine. I'll still look into the matter of the body and keep an eye out for whatever allowed the demon to escape, but I'm not going to be able to take on anything major for the foreseeable future. Call it personal business."

He paused for a moment before he growled at the phone. "Look, I know we're not supposed to have enough connections to require personal business. I was the field agent responsible for making sure the researchers weren't putting too much on our shoulders! I could have vetoed the damned thing! The point is, like you guys, a field agent has every right to take on an investigation or line of research. I'm calling in all of the time I've been with the PIA. By the rules I have enough independent research time to walk me right through to retirement if I wanted."

Another pause. Kali watched Simon, now, as he argued with the phone. He noticed her confusion and returned a sad smile her way before he dove back into his argument. "Don't worry, I'll file all the paperwork, heck, I can email it to you, if I ever figure out that damned laptop you sent me last year. No, I don't want you to send me the instructional DVD. I wouldn't even know how to use it. I can't even turn the thing on!"

A laugh bubbled out of Kali. Startled out of his conversation, he looked at her in confusion. After a moment of consideration he smiled broadly as he realized the banality of the conversation compared to what he had just learned. "Look, don't worry. I'm not going AWOL. You know me. I'll have my phone right here if anyone needs advising, and I will explain everything. I just need to get a handle on what I'm involved in first, okay? Thank you." The last was said with equal parts exasperation and honest intent. Simon closed the phone with a snap and shook his head.

Once more he moved to kneel before her. "I'm sorry if I just made you sound like an experiment or research project, but they wouldn't understand yet. I hope to figure out exactly how this happened before we approach them. In the mean time," a shudder ran through Kali as his hands began to stroke the wings, "we can work on trying to control these powers, whatever they are."

Kali's breath shuddered, as her bodied remembered how long it had been, and how he had already made her feel. "I told you, I don't think they can be controlled. They are pure chaos and this is a world of physics."

He smiled at her. "But the demon could control them. That tells me that they can be controlled." He looked around briefly. "It's getting chilly out. Come on, lets go back inside. You can test out the hot tub at some other point."

Kali realized that he was now avoiding looking at her. His hands continued to absently brush across her wings, however. The moment he mentioned the tub, she had a very vivid image of him laying her back in the warm water, naked, as he slid between her legs. Combined with the inadvertently sensual caress, and the thought of the hot water bubbling across those very same wings, she gasped. The sensation that raced through her nearly doubled her over. It was far weaker than what she'd felt with the demon, but very similar.

Kali scrambled to her feet. She looked for something to distract her and spotted the bed. With a running leap, she landed on her stomach. It was far softer than any she'd ever slept in and she nuzzled into its embrace. Simon followed her into the room and gasped. She turned her head and propped herself up on her elbows.

Another vision hit. Once more, she was naked. She lay on the bed, but turned to look over her shoulder. Simon stood at the foot of the bed, in all his splendid glory. He watched her. His eyes traveled the length of her body, drank in the sight as if in a desert. She couldn't get enough of that look. Her lips turned up in a coy smile.

Kali threw herself from the bed, still fully clothed, and tore into the bathroom. She gripped the counter the moment the door was firmly locked behind her. This wasn't the first vision. She had suddenly seen herself, writhing in pleasure on a bed, the very first time she had seen Simon, at the club. It had been that vision which had caused her to spin and notice the PIA agent. It had happened again when she had begun to change in the alley. That time she heard herself ask him if he was coming to bed, and she feared she would say it aloud. She wanted it. But she feared. She knew what would happen.

Her confusion vanished as a plan formed. There was always a way.

Simon staggered over to the chair, even as Kali threw herself into the bathroom. He couldn't get comfortable, but that was no surprise. His pants were too tight to comfortably contain the erection.

He had smiled at the innocent delight with which she had thrown herself on the bed. As she snuggled against it, he briefly wondered how he had ever found that bed uncomfortable and hard as a rock? The moment his eyes shifted back to her, however, a different image replaced her. In his vision she was now completely naked. Slightly sprawled on the bed, as she had been in a previous one, only her wings and tail hid those parts that his body most longed to see. He couldn't help but stand, immobile, before such a glorious sight. Somehow, the inhuman features only added to her almost innocent sensuality.

There was the problem. Simon simply didn't know what to do. Oh, he knew he needed to teach her to control her powers, that was a mandate of the PIA. If they discovered a talented human, one without the benefit of guidance, they were obligated to provide training. It wasn't entirely altruistic, untrained psychics could become very dangerous, but at the same time it wasn't nearly as conspiratorial as most seemed to think. The PIA was not out to rule the supernatural world and, through them, the rest of humanity. Mostly, it was situations like this, where agents felt sorry for someone who felt themselves cursed by their abilities.

At the same time, something about Kali called to him. Of course, there was the obvious physical attraction. The visions that he kept having all focused around that. But it was more than that. Maybe it was a fatherly instinct. After all, she was young enough to have been his daughter. When those two instincts were taken together, he didn't even want to contemplate the contradictions.

In the end, he settled for admitting that he would take as much time as she needed in order to help her figure out her new abilities. He would record as much information as he could, for the PIA archives, but this was far more about her. Anything else, well, he shouldn't make this any more complicated than it already was.

Simon looked up and smiled wearily as he heard the bathroom door open once more. This time, the smile only faltered for a moment, as the vision hit. The beautiful young woman walked towards him. The flicker of red in the whites of her eyes held no terror for him anymore. A single arm crossed her chest. The slender limb barely covered her areola, while the rest of her large breasts remained delightfully visible. Meanwhile, her other hand sank between her legs. While some woman would imitate the Venus de Milo, with the lower hand flat against her legs, Kali's hand curved between her legs, to actually cover her lust rather than simply conceal it.

He couldn't help but leer as she sauntered forward. Her hips held an exaggerated sway that was only enhanced by the curling and flicking of her barbed tail. Her wings swept out to about half their total span and poised, as if ready to envelope him. That thought alone, of those tender looking wings drawing his body against hers, brought another pulse of blood to the trapped manhood.

Kali stopped a few feet away from him with a feral grin. She had managed to stop far enough that he could still take in the full vision of her, while she had moved close enough to appreciate the subtleties of her body. He could see a hint of her pink areola peak above her arm. Her fingers covered her sex, but the downy, black, fuzz sprang around her wrist. "Do you like what you see?" He nodded vigorously. The twinkle in her green eyes grew bolder, as did the red flame. "Do you want this?" He nodded and enjoyed the vision for all it was worth.

Her smile grew coy once more as Kali threatened to move her hands a couple of times. His loins screamed that there wasn't enough room. She dashed forward. He caught a brief glimpse of every bit of her, as she folded herself to kneel between his legs. Now he could still see her perfect breasts, but the rest was hidden. His eyes were caught by those breasts. It wasn't a surprise that her large breasts had proportionately large nipples, but he couldn't help but devour them with his eyes.

Suddenly, his mind registered that something was wrong. She reached for his belt and comprehension began to dawn. All of the other visions had been just as seductive, and perhaps almost as close, but never had they been more than just a vision of her. Her shoulders had forced his knees apart and, even now, she had freed his belt and opened his pants. This was no vision!

Simon reached for her shoulders, but her hands had already dived into his pants. He gripped her shoulders the exact moment she squeezed his hard length. He tried to push her away, but she managed to pull him free in the process. Now, his manhood stood firm between them. Although her gaze kept flitting down to it, her hurt eyes mostly pinned his. "I thought you wanted me!"

The pain in Kali's voice was almost to much for Simon. He smiled back sadly. "I can't deny that Kali. That," his own eyes shifted briefly to the erection, "would give lie to any attempt to do so. I won't even say we can't. We both know how easy it would be. But the question is should we?" To emphasize his point, he removed one hand, to cup her face gently. Her cheek pressed slightly against him, her eyes closed almost sleepily as the red fire faded from them. Her mouth curled into an innocent smile.

He had begun to droop a little through the explanation. He smiled, unseen by her. She was very sweet and, he suspected, more than a little naive, for all her new powers. Perhaps that was what had saved her from the demon's attack. Simon just wished he could think of a delicate way to ask if she'd been a virgin when attacked. His other hand shifted to her wing. He had noticed Kali shuddered every time he had brushed them and, since she hadn't looked discomforted by it, he assumed it was as relaxing as if he ran his hand through her hair.

Simon had barely touched her when Kali's eyes flew open. The flames burned in them stronger than he had seen yet. Her lips parted in a growl, and her feral expression focused on the organ that began to sag before her. He realized his mistake, but the hand already shifted downward in its caress. The red flooded across her eyes and she lunged forward.

Kali devoured him. Simon's head flew back as his body flooded with sensation. His free hand fell away from her cheek and reached out instinctively to grip anything. He caught hold of her other wing and gripped gently. Kali's mouth opened slightly, with a gasp, before she sealed around him once more and sucked. In that instant, he grew inside her mouth. Her lips squeezed against his base. The walls of her mouth pressed against his entire length at once.

Her lips slid easily up his shaft, to torment every nerve with delight. Her fingers curled around his base and began to massage. She reached his tip and her tongue caressed the sensitive ridge. Weight and fire flooded his body in search of an escape. Simon shuddered as he felt her head plunge down once more. The action reminded his body of the only outlet. Her face pressed against the blond curls and the purely physical pressure added to the internal.

Simon felt the pressure burst. The molten lust surged upward before he could growl the warning. Kali drew in a quick breath then sucked in. She pulled back slightly. Time froze. Every muscle seized as it returned. He exploded into the moist heat of Kali's mouth. She drank him avidly and tormented even more from him with her tongue. Her lips glided up and down, milked even more sensation. His world narrowed to the lightning that raced throughout his body and the delightful mouth that channeled it.

He lost track of time as the sensation of her inexperienced, yet motivated, endeavors drained him. He ran dry but she refused to release him from the exquisite delirium. His hands fell free of her wings, dead at his sides. His screams even trailed off into tormented whimpers of delight. Finally, she pulled free.

"Oh, God! What have I done?" Simon's eyes flickered open in confusion. Kali stared wide eyed at his hands. He smiled and tried to bring one up to her face; tried and failed. She saw the twitch and thankful eyes reached out to his. "Y-you're ok?"

Simon laughed. "That was the most incredible I've ever felt!"

His body shuddered as the coy smile crossed her face once more. "In that case, maybe we could come up with a way for you to repay me?" Simon chuckled. He could think of a great many ways.
