Part 15 HOA Security

Carol called about 10:30 and asked Karen what she was doing today and did she have time for coffee. Karen said sure I'll come by, have you found anything interesting. Carol said yes and I need to ask a computer question if you have time. Karen said it depends, I know some but I'm not a wizard. Karen, I need to now how to look at the internet history and maybe how to erase it. Okay what time is good. How about 1:30?

Karen hurried to get her computer work done so she could spend time with Carol. Of course, that is when the phone rings the most. First, it was Beth telling her the party was on in four weeks and she was going to invite Jake and Nancy. She said she was going to drop by the Wild Rose soon and invite them. Karen laughed and said, and maybe a little extra fun. Beth said, yes if they want to.

Then Cassie called to see how everything was and that she was excited to know we were inviting Jake and Nancy and hoped they could make it. Beth told her they played Saturday and had a great time. Karen confirmed that. Cassie said she was jealous she had spent the weekend with in-laws and had no fun. Maybe she would invite Nathan over. Karen said that she had been thinking about inviting him. Cassie said, you need to do that. Maybe I can see what Brad or Wayne was doing. Karen said, Wayne is swamped but you can ask.

Thirty minutes later Wayne called and asked if she had called Nathan. Karen said no, how did you know I was even thinking about that. He said he got a text from Cassie. Karen said she was such a loud mouth and laughed. He said, are you really thinking about it. She said yes, I am toying with the idea. Wayne, said crap, I have to go, tell me when or if you set it up, I may want to go play with Cassie, and we can talk about it tonight. Text me if you talk to him.

Then Krissy called, I hear you are thinking about inviting Nathan to play. Karen said, don't tell me Crissy called you. Krissy laughed, of course she did. Do you think you are ready for him. Karen explained she and Wayne had been working in that direction. Krissy said she would text him to call you when he had a free minute. As far as she knew Nathan was working from home on Thursday so that would be a great day.

Karen sent a text to Wayne and said, how about Thursday. Then one to Crissy and said she thought Nathan was open on Thursday.

She had to get going, she hadn't gotten near enough done and needed to get to Carol's house. She decided to drive around the block instead of walking this time. Carol greeted her at the door, they went to the kitchen for some coffee. Carol said I have so much to tell you. Let's go to the office.

She turned on her laptop and then the desk top. She had a list of 13 couples and one at the bottom that was in red. Carol said so far, I started with the group at the pool party and then thought about the women that hover around together at the HOA meetings and this is my list. Karen said, what is the one in red. Carol said I'll get to that.

She switched over to the desktop because of the wider screen. She logged into the HOA web site and used an admin access code to open up the security. Karen said you have security access. Carol laughed and said being the secretary has its privileges. First, she showed Karen who had access to the security section and the list had people that were no longer residents but no one on the current board. Carol said I had to call the company to get access, then send them the official minutes from the last meeting. Then I called back and asked if I could modify the list of people and they said yes as a board member I can do that. So here goes, Carol deleted everyone on the list, then she added Karen. Carol said, here is also something interesting, she pulled up the history to see who had opened the security and when. The list had no new listing except Carols since 2012. Carol said I also went in and changes the access code, I'll text that to you.

Karen said, you are telling me no one on the board has access to this, only you and I, and it has been thirteen years since anyone has looked at this. Carol said exactly. She said as a matter of fact, I don't think anyone on the board is aware of the cameras in the area that the security company is supposed to be monitoring. Karen said where are they I don't think I have seen any. Carol scrolled back and hit another icon. It showed the location of every camera on the streetlights and the entry gates. Carol then scrolled through the cameras one by one. You can look up and down every street from the two ends.

Karen said how long did it took for you to figure this out. Carol said I called the security company and they emailed me the users' guide and I have spent hours looking at this, off and on when I could. Okay here is where I got my list of 14 houses. I started with the women I knew were at the party and put the camera near their house on fast forward and sat and watched for service trucks. The tapes can go at 5x, since it was just during the day it went fast, I looked at a lot of them from three months back. The interesting ones are the three trucks that don't have logos on the sides, one blue, one black and one white, when I saw them, I would go to the gate cameras, and they are all black guys. Sometime one or two guys get out and are there for a couple hours. I will tell you Maddie has a steady stream of them.

So that is the red one? Carol said, that is CJ, she is married to a pilot, Neal. I watched her tape and she never had anyone stop. Up until about a year ago she and I talked all the time, then about six or so months ago she slowly stopped calling. Last Wednesday I saw her in the grocery store parking lot getting into a truck. So naturally I followed them, they went straight to the Motel 6. I came home and that night looked at the camera and she was gone for about two hours. I went into the history, and it is a pattern every other week or so she leaves and comes home at about the same time. I think it is the week when hubby is flying his international route and is out of the country. Karen asked, do you think this is a side thing and hubby doesn't know. Carol said could be, but it was a black guy.

Karen said, looks like you have this covered. Carol said maybe but I have another problem. I had this user guide and it is fairly simple. Where I have the problem is on the internet, I don't understand some things, and I was hoping you could explain some things. Carol closed the HOA security and opened the internet on her laptop. Karen said for starters if you have a question, you can just google it.

Sometimes I google it on my phone, so I have the screen open and the computer at the same time. Carol said that is a great idea. So, I want to be able to delete my history. Karen said, do you have anything like cleaner? I use that and you can set it to delete all your unwanted stuff like history. Carol said, no how do I add it. Karen sat down and in minutes loaded it and set it up to clean everything. Karen said before we clean it look at your history and right click on one, it will give you the option to delete it manually. Then Karen started the cleaner and in minutes it was done.

Carol said that was easy can I do the same on the desk top. Karen said, sure, you want me to add the software too? Carol said no that is really Doug's and I just want to be able to delete my stuff not his. Carol said, which brings me to my real issue. Karen, I really trust you and I hope you don't think less of Doug and I. Karen always seems to gain someone's trust and usually they will tell her everything. I started this little investigation into everything about the black-owned stuff and our neighbors without telling Doug everything. Well, he saw some of the browser history on his computer and asked me what the hell was going on, so I explained everything. We had always suspected maybe they were sleeping with each other but not the black thing.

It all seemed to blow over and I would update him on what I was finding. He actually liked hearing about it. I am sure it was the drama and the fact that I was finding all this out. He does know you initiated it because I told him about our HOA meeting, but not that I was going to update you. So, a few times he got really excited talking about it and honestly, I enjoyed the attention. Karen said, Don't we all, and laughed.

Carol said, one night after the kids were asleep Doug asked me if any of them suggested I join in. I told him about the pool party and the TJ tattoos I had told him about it before, this time I added a few details, like Maddie's tattoo. Well, that excited him a lot. Then I told him about TJ dropping off the flyer the next week and how you thought that was an invitation. That really started it, and to be totally honest, it was some of the best we have had in a long time. Karen said I get it, I don't think that kind of thing is too far out there, a lot of guys have fantasies like that.

Well now he wants to always know more and what I have found when we are in bed. Seems to be a total turn on for him and I have gotten to where I like the fantasy too. Karen said, I don't think that is out of the norm either, probably all couples have fantasies. Carol said, I want you to look at this, she went to the history browser and typed in www and a list of sites came up. Several of the sites were for couple to hook up and the most recent ones were wives that hook up with black men. Carol hit one and it was full of women with black men having sex. Carol said that this is really why I wanted to delete my browser history, so he wouldn't know I looked at what he was looking at. Karen said, okay I get it, well you know how to delete it now so he can't figure it out if you are careful unless you want him to know.

Karen was feeling uncomfortable with this, it was like marriage advice, and she wasn't the one that should be giving it. She held her tongue and didn't say anything she shouldn't. She did want to understand Carol's feelings for nothing else than to make her feel better. Karen said so what is it that is really bothering you, he has some fantasies, and so do you now. Are you thinking about this black owned thing. Carol said no not at all, even if I was, it wouldn't be with Maddie's group, I don't like them at all. Then what are you thinking?

Carol was almost shaking, but she said, I can't tell if Doug really wants me to have sex with someone else, maybe even a black guy. Carol said, please don't think I am bad, I have only had sex with Doug and I love him.

Karen took a deep breath and said, let me see if I really understand this. You and Doug started talking about this after you started figuring it out. Did Doug get mad when you told him that it was a strong possibility that after the pool party TJ came by to see if you wanted to join the group and be black owned. Carol said, just the opposite, he actually got excited. One time when we were having sex in the heat of the moment he asked if I wanted to be black owned. I told him yes as part of the fantasy. Later we talked about it, and I told him I said yes as part of the fantasy but I didn't really want to do that, especially not with this group.

Karen asked, after that did it start to become a fantasy you two shared. Carol said, not black owned, but the shared fantasy is us with another guy or me meeting a guy maybe a black guy. Karen said I get the big picture that you two are sharing this fantasy, so where exactly is the problem. Carol said, I can't tell if it is just a fantasy for Doug or if he really wants to do it. Karen said, what do you want to do?

Carol paused and said Karen, I can't help it, I would really like to live out some of the fantasies. After looking at Doug's internet history I know he has thought a lot about it. I looked at a few of the sites after I found his sheet of passwords. He has had more that one conversation about it with some swingers. One of the sites has some of my pictures, he blurred out the face or cropped it but it is clearly me.

It had been some time and kids were moving around so time was getting cut short. Karen said, I think we could talk about this some more later. Carol said you know school is starting so in a week I will have more free time in the mornings until about three. Karen said that will be perfect, maybe next time you can come over to my house. Carol said that sounds nice. She said the next HOA meeting is happening in a few weeks will you be there? Karen said, yes, I wouldn't miss it, I find out more than Wayne ever will.

As Karen headed home, she was glad that Carol didn't ask her if she had ever done anything like that before. While Carol was talking she caught herself thinking about Thursday and meeting Nathan. She was going to talk to Wayne about everything tonight.
