My Mass MOCA Girl PT10: Jackson!
By Nutmegman
For some unknown reason, this chapter never got posted. Here it is now.
Em
I drove to Sam's house, and she directed me to everyone else's house. The seven of us are in the rover.
Mandy said, "This is a nice SUV, Em. Can I ask what it costs?"
"Well, after Clint and Debby's wedding and the destruction of Jay's new Subaru, Clint told Jay to pick a car. Jay chose this.
I didn't find out until later that it cost over $250,000. If I'd known that, we would have rented something, because other than Clint's G-Wagon, this rover was the last expensive vehicle.
Jay initially thought it was around $150k. Boy, was he wrong. And my brother bought another for him and Debby in another color. Both were parked in our driveway over Thanksgiving. Crazy amount of money for a car."
"I like it. It's more comfy than Marc's Porsche. Plus, it seats more people."
"We went over sand at the Cape with it, and it's amazing in the snow too. Plus, its safety rating is excellent, and it's fast."
"How fast?" Shannon asked.
I stomped on it, and it took off.
"It feels as fast as our Porsche SUV," Mandy said. "Hmmm."
"What are you thinking, Mandy?" Sam asked.
"We're here. "We parked, walked, and shopped at West Farms Mall, had lunch, and had a great time wandering and shopping.
We were walking, and I heard a voice I didn't want to hear.
"Monrova, stop walking."
We all stopped and turned around.
"Fuck, Jackson, go away. Didn't you learn your lesson at the wedding? You're lucky James isn't here. He'd kill you. Use my proper name. It's Emma."
"Have you gone lesbian now? Hanging with all these pretty women."
"Jackson, why do you constantly harass and bully me? Go live your own life, far, far from me." I noticed the girls recording this exchange.
"Where's the purple pansy? He's not with you today. He can't protect you today."
"Girls, meet Jackson, one of my asshole brothers, who never leaves me alone. It seems to be their life mission to bully me whenever they see me."
He reached to push me. I grabbed his hand and bent it backwards.
He screamed in pain, dropping to his knees.
"Not so funny now, Jackson. You don't fucking touch me."
"Ow, Monrova, you're hurting me. You don't have the guts to break your brother's hand. You're still the wimpy little sister. Ow."
"What's my name, Jackson?" I screamed at him.
I let up a little, and he got up. I was holding him with my left hand.
"Apologize to my friends for your rude comment."
"Why, Monrova? It's true, isn't it? You're all lesbians."
I wound up and hit him in the face with my fist. Then released him. He fell backwards to the ground.
"You're nothing but a fucking bully, Jackson. You should be in prison with Bucky and Harrison. I hate you. James would have killed you if he were here. You got off easy. Stay away from us." I screamed at him.
He was on the ground in pain. I made a move to hit him again, but the girls grabbed me, pulling me outside.
I started sobbing. Sam and Mandy held me close. Finally, I stopped.
"Who was that?" Shannon asked.
"We sat on the bench. "I have 5 brothers. All are named after presidents. I'm the youngest. I think my parents were on drugs or something when they named me Monrova Jamie Masters.
I hate that fucking name. I asked people to call me Em. Everyone does except those three. They made my life a living hell all the time. I changed it legally to Emma just recently.
Harry and Bucky are the ones who vandalized Jay's car in DC. The car wasn't even two months old and was a total loss. It took the insurance company 4 months to pay us. As far as I know, they are in prison.
We were at the fucking Waldorf Astoria in DC. Over $1200 a night, and they watched and recorded Jay's car being vandalized and did nothing to stop it. The guard watching thought it was hysterical; he was recorded on video. My brother Clint made them pay big time to the tune of $10 million.
Jackson was always partnered with the two loser brothers. James taught them a lesson during the Friday night dinner at the wedding. Then they went and killed his new car. If Mac and I hadn't stepped in, James would have put the three of them in the hospital. He was so angry. I've never seen him so angry.
If he were here with us, he would have broken Jackson into little pieces. He taught me those moves and how to make a punch effective.
Clint and Mac are so nice. I'm connected to them now. Because of the wedding. Jay said it was worth losing the car because it brought me closer to my good brothers.
I'm so sorry. I wanted to participate in the bullying project because they bullied me my whole life.
Because of him, they've ruined everything with you all now. I'm sorry I ruined your day. I guess I'll take you all home now. Sorry for babbling."
"No, you won't. We're here with you. You're one of us." Sam said. "We're here for and with you, Em. This is nothing, and you handled it great. I think a nickname for you would be The Defender.
You stood up to him and kicked ass. Now you need to teach us those moves."
"Yeah." Everyone said.
"Are you sure?"
"Yes, we're very sure," Molly said. "My Sarah likes you and James. She's very picky about who she likes. You passed her test, and that's good enough for us all. Plus, I know Sarah is safe with you. You are The Defender."
"Come on, let's go back to the car," C said.
"Thank you. I appreciate the support."
"We got you," C said.
Walking back to the car, someone grabbed my shoulder. "Monrova, stop."
"Jackson, you just never learn. Remove your fucking hand from my shoulder, or I will break it," I said without turning around. I noticed the girls around me, recording on their phones again.
"Monrova, you did a bad thing to Harry and Bucky. James is a bully. He got what he deserved. So will you."
I grabbed his fingers and bent them backwards. "Why don't you like me, Jackson? You, Harrison, and Buckmore are the bullies. My whole life, you terrorized me. Why? James is no bully; he was protecting me from you and those assholes. They got what they deserved, finally.
Why are you here, Jackson?"
"Ow, that hurts, Monrova. I have clients in the mall."
"My name is Em!" I screamed at him.
"Your name is Monrova. You'll always be the bitchy, spoiled little bratty sister." He started to get up and push me back.
I pushed his fingers back more. "Stop, Jackson, or I will break your hand." I noticed a couple watching us nearby. What I didn't notice when I glanced away was Jackson making a fist with his other hand and pulling back to punch me.
The guy stepped between us and caught the fist in his hand. Loudly saying, "You never hurt a woman. You should be ashamed of yourself. Now, I'm going to release your hand. Turn around and walk away. If you try to hit her again. I'll make you feel pain. Do you get me?"
He released Jackson's hand. He turned and ran.
"Thank you so much."
"You're welcome. I saw what was going down and had to step in. Are you okay?"
"Yes. A little shell-shocked. But okay. May I have your name, please?
"Sure, I'm Jon Rothman, and this is my wife Carol. Carol wants to do some shopping down here. We just moved from New Hampshire."
I stuck out my hand, "Hi Jon, I'm Emma, and these are my friends. You know, your name sounds very familiar.... Did you go to high school in Agawam, by any chance?"
"Yes. Were you in my class? You don't look familiar."
"I wasn't, but my fiancée was. Do you know the name James Wallish?"
"Yeah. Wow, small world. James tutored me all four years of high school. He's the reason I passed each year and graduated. We lost touch after high school. He was a good friend. Is he still living in the area?"
"Yes, we live in Agawam. Oh my gosh, he would love to see you again. Would you and Carol like to come over for dinner tomorrow night?"
"We can't tomorrow, but maybe next weekend? We bought a house in Chicopee, close on Monday, and move in during the week. We're a little crazy right now. But I'd love to see him again. Here is my card, please give him my regards. Wow, what a small world."
"Jon, here is my card and Jay's card. Call us after you are settled in. Oh, these are my friends, we're just doing a girls' shopping day. Maybe Carol can join us in the future. Call us after you're settled in. It was so nice to meet you."
"Ladies, very nice to meet you. Carol and I will be in touch soon. Have a great evening." They walked away.
"Holy shit, what a small, small world," I said, watching them walk away.
I unlocked the doors, and everyone was getting in, when I was grabbed by the shoulder again and pulled back.
"Monrova, your big protector is gone; now I can have my way with you," Jackson said.
"What do you want, Jackson? Leave me alone," I screamed at him. I started turning around, grabbing some fingers, and bending them backwards. I saw Sam and Mandy recording on their phones.
I bent his fingers back, pushing him out from between the cars. I saw his other hand in a fist start to come my way. So I snapped his fingers back, hearing the bones break. I pushed him further back. His other hand was holding his broken one.
"Jackson, god dammit, why are you doing this?" I screamed at him. "Why? Why?"
He made another move towards me. I kicked out his knee, just like I did to Marco a few months prior. We all heard bones breaking. "You stupid fuck, stay away from me!" I screamed. "Don't you ever come near me, my friends, or Jay ever again. So help me god, if you do, James will fucking kill you!"
I went to kick him again, but Mandy and Sue grabbed me, pulling me back. "Let's go, Em. Let's get away from him. Get in the truck and drive." Mandy said.
I drove for a while, saw a parking lot, and pulled in. I got out and walked away, and started crying. The girls circled me, holding me close. "Why do they do that? Why did he make me do that?"
I finally slowed down. "I'm so sorry to have ruined your day."
Molly said, "You did no such thing. Get that out of your head. You're a strong friend of ours. We are here for you. What you did was pretty amazing. You do have a mighty strong punch, too." Everyone, including me, started laughing.
Sam said, "Why don't you do those relaxation exercises? We'll wait here for you. Go ahead. It'll make you feel better."
I moved a little away and went into the routine that James taught me. Ten minutes later, I walked back to them.
"Okay, I'm good. Let's go. Where to next? Is anyone hungry? I'm starved."
We walked into Shake Shack, had dinner, talked, and enjoyed the company.
We walked back and got in the rover. I turned around, saying, "I almost forgot. What was the story you were going to tell me about Mike, Sam?"
"Molly, can you tell her? Em, stay parked. Don't drive yet."
"Molly told her story. "
I put my hands over my eyes, crying. We were all crying in the car.
"I cry every time I hear this story," Sam said.
"It's little things like this that make all our guys great. We all have something. Just like what James did for Sarah at the ball game last week."
"My James is a great guy. He can be shy in groups until he gets to know everyone. But, he's my catch. I can tell you a funny story. To go from crying to laughing."
I told how we were at Mac and Margie's, and thought we had 2 hours to ourselves in the empty house. "I get a little loud when I'm in the throes of passion. We walked out, I stopped, and Jay bumped into me. All our relatives started clapping.
Oh my god. I was so embarrassed. Jay made a beeline for the grill to get it started for dinner. For the next few hours, poor Jay was beyond embarrassed. Especially when Margie's sisters asked for detailed advice on exactly what he does to please me.
Thankfully, Debby stepped in to rescue him and put a stop to it. Can you imagine? You know how shy he is, and he has Teri, Tulsa, and Toni asking Jay how he holds his fingers when he's, you know, to me. And how to lick to please me. My poor guy. It was very funny, thinking back to it."
We were all laughing hysterically and couldn't stop.
When we finally did, Mandy asked, "Can we make a stop on the way back? I would like to look at these Range Rovers. There is a dealer in Hartford."
"Give me directions."
We pulled into the dealer in Hartford. Mandy was looking at the same high-end model we were driving.
Molly and I saw a model called the Defender. Sam joined us. "Karma?" She said, "The Defender drives a Defender. Sit in it."
A salesperson came over. "Will you be trading in that SUV you arrived in?" he asked.
"No, that's my husband's vehicle. Can you tell me about this?" I said.
He did. I'm interested in the 110. Can I test drive it?"
"Well, it's getting late."
Molly stepped in. "Our friend over there is probably going to buy a duplicate of what we drove up in. She's interested in this. Do you really want to chase us away and lose possibly $400,000 in two sales because it's almost closing time?
I want to talk to the sales manager right now. Go get him."
"You go, girl," C said to Molly.
The sales manager came over, and Molly attacked him.
"What do you want to drive?" He asked.
"A Defender 110," I said.
Sam, C, Molly, and I went for a drive. "What do you think, Em?"
"I like it. I'm going to order one. Can you guys help me pick out features? It needs a tow package. I need to find out what they'll take for my Subaru."
We returned and told the sales manager what I wanted, in what color, and which features.
What will you give me for my 6-month-old Subaru Forester Wilderness with fewer than 5,000 miles? Sight unseen. It's in excellent condition."
"I have to see it, but I'm guessing $40k."
"Okay, let's order a Defender for me. Our friend is ordering a Range Rover like the one we drove in. A nice way to end your Saturday." I said.
"I need a deposit."
"How much?"
"$5000."
I gave him my credit card. "I'll pay the balance in cash or money order, whichever is proper. Just let me know.
Will it be months of waiting, or can you find one, or maybe have it in stock?"
"Not in stock, let me look. I found one at another dealer. I can have it here in 3 days. Is that good?"
"That's great. Thank you."
"I'll call you when it's ready. Can you bring the Subaru in tomorrow so we can evaluate it?"
"Sure. What time?"
"Is 1 pm good?"
"Yes. Perfect"
We checked on Mandy; she did order one too. Driving back, "holy crap, we just ordered nearly $400,000 in cars." I said.
"When I went shopping with them the first day, I bought two cars. A Honda Passport and a custom purple Porsche 911 Cabriolet. I thought Sam was going to have a stroke when I told him about the Porsche. But it's so much fun to drive. Maybe you guys need a summer car too?" Shannon said.
We all laughed. I turned on MusicFest, and we sang on the way home.
"Girls, thank you for an excellent day minus my asshole brother, who you can see brings out my worst."
"Listen, Miss Defender, you're one of us now. See you soon."
I drove Sam home. Jay was there. He and Mike were watching the Sox game from Florida.
They got up when they heard us. I ran to Jay and burst into tears.
"Hey, hey, what's with the tears? Did something happen with the girls?"
She held me tighter. "Sam? Explain, please." Mike said.
Sam told the story. "Em was awesome. We nicknamed her The Defender. And she bought a new car too, called the Defender.
Jay, can you teach us girls those moves that Em has? She was awesome. Her brother Jackson was a complete asshole.
Em said that you probably would have broken him into pieces if you were with us. But she broke his hand, knee, and socked him in the face."
"My hand hurts again." Em said.
"Mike, do you have ice?"
He brought out an ice pack and a towel. We folded it around her hand.
"Are you okay, Em?" Mike asked.
She nodded yes.
"Sit and watch the game with us," Mike said.
We sat, Em, on my lap. Me holding her.
"You would have been proud of me, James."
"I'm always proud of you, sweetheart."
She put her head on me. I held her close.
"Mike, do you have any ice cream by any chance?" Em asked.
"We do, and I could go for some too."
We got up and made sundaes. "Sam, are you sure you're not mad at me? I can understand if you wouldn't want me as a friend." Em said.
Sam came over and hugged Em, who started crying again. "You're okay, Em. You're one of us. We are so proud of how you handled him. You did well. You're our friend. Now and far into the future."
"Thank you." Em said softly.
"We have a spare bedroom, if you guys want to spend the night? I think Em needs to unwind, and maybe having Sam here will help her." Mike said.
"But," Sam said, "it's not soundproofed."
"What?" Mike said.
I know I turned red.
"Sorry, I told the story of us getting some at Mac and Margie House. We needed some good laughs."
"James, maybe you could teach Mike..."
"Oh my god. Em?"
She started giggling and then laughing. Sam joined her.
Mike had no idea.
"Okay, you're too funny, you two. Yes, we will spend the night. Thank you. We won't make too much noise."
"Let's watch the rest of the game," Mike said.
We sat again, Em on me, holding me close. Her hand was wrapped in ice.
We slept in the Celtics' room. Lots of green, logos, and player posters. It was pretty neat.
I lay down with Em, both of us in our underwear. We were side by side.
"Are you okay, sweetheart?" I asked.
"Why do they keep harassing and bullying me? I wanted to be part of this project because I realized that the three of them have bullied me my whole life. I need to understand why. Jackson was so mean. When he's by himself, he usually is. I just don't understand him."
"Bullying is usually about a bigger person picking on a smaller person. It's about power, jealousy, wanting to be seen as the better person. It's about them feeling superior and making the person they pick on feel miserable. They get off on that.
I wish I could take away your pain and doubt."
I brushed the hair off her face, stroking her face softly. It was killing me that she felt so bad. I wanted to make her feel better. I moved closer. I took her sore hand and brought it to my lips, kissing each knuckle. Then each finger. Softly stroking her sore hand. Kissing it again and putting it back on her side.
I slid my hand up her side, down her back, up her front to cover her breast. She closed her eyes and moaned softly. I rubbed her nipple, tracing my finger around and around as I gently touched it. I moved closer and gave a gentle lick, sucking it into my mouth, flicking her nipple with my tongue. She softly moaned again.
I took that as a safe sign to slide my hand down and into her panties. Gently sliding over her pussy. She was damp, and I was hopefully going to make her much wetter. I pulled my hand out, eliciting a moan of disappointment from Em, licked my fingers well, and stuck them back into her panties, rubbing her slit as she opened her legs more.
She was nice and slick now as I rubbed her how she liked it. "Mmmm, Jay, oh god, right there." She pushed my hand into her, clamped her legs, and came. A low moan coming from her.
She opened her legs, and I repeated. I slid lower and took off her panties. My tongue lapped at her juices. I sucked in her lips, then opened her up with my fingers, my tongue exploring as deep as I could get it, then up and over her clit.
"Oh, oh, so good!" As she thrust herself at me. I pulled up, removed my boxers, and slid inside her. She was pushing at me as I pumped into her. Her eyes locked on me. I'd push in deep and wiggle around. I pulled out and repeated. My hand moved circles over her slippery clit, she came again hard, "Oh, James, more, more", she pushed harder at me as I pushed in, holding and cumming hard inside her. I was breathing hard, still trying to push deeper.
I lowered myself on top of her. "I love you, Em. I want to take all your pain away and make you feel good. I love you more than words can describe." I kissed her, my tongue exploring hers, feeling her desire for more.
She grabbed me and rolled us so she was on top. She pushed herself up and started hopping on my still hard dick, coming down and wiggling around, and then going up and repeating. Sliding me in deep and slid up and back on me, so her clit rubbed on me.
"Oh, James, right there, oh god, cumming. She reached down to rub herself more, came again, and lowered herself onto my chest. Lying her head down. "Mmmm, I needed that. Love you. Sleep now." I heard her breathing change as she fell asleep. I closed my eyes and slept too.
We awoke at the same time, on our sides, looking at each other. "I have to pee," she said. I felt her get up. I fell asleep and woke up again. Em was gone. I went to the bathroom, splashed water on my face, got dressed, and went out to see Sam and Em talking on the couch.
Guessing Mike was still asleep, I raided the kitchen and started making breakfast: omelets, fresh fruit, coffee, and English muffins. Setting the table and seeing a groggy Mike enter the kitchen.
"I now understand the loudness comment," Mike said.
"Sorry," I said sheepishly.
"Actually, it was ok, as it put us in the mood. I should thank you."
"Have a seat, Mike, breakfast is nearly ready. Girls, come eat breakfast."
"We should have you both over more often. Wild sex at night, and you make breakfast for us in the morning. I like that." Sam said.
"Sorry about the noise last night." Em said.
"No, you guys can sleep over anytime."
Em and I were blushing a bit. "How's breakfast?" I asked.
'I like to cook too, but this is better. Thank you, Jay." Mike said.
Em looked at me and smiled. I smiled back at her.
I cleaned up with Mike's help. The girls talked some more.
"Mike, thank you for letting us stay the night. I think Sam is helping her through this more than me."
"We're all here for each other, Jay. Happy to help in any way we can."
We went home, showered, and then I followed Em to the Land Rover dealer. She showed me what she ordered.
"It's cool looking, Em. I like it. Wait until Clint hears about it." I said.
They kept the Subaru, gave Em a receipt, and said they would call with the final total and instructions for paying. We drove our rover home.
"Are you sure you don't mind taking me to work? Or me taking you to work?"
"I don't mind at all. It gives me more time to spend with you."
A few days later, we got word that the new car was ready. We called Marc and Mandy to find out their status, too. Theirs was ready as well. We drove in East Longmeadow to pick them up, figuring we might as well make it easier for them, too.
Upon arrival, we did Em's car first. They went over everything with her. Then we sat down to do the paperwork. There was a discrepancy: the bank check was for the wrong amount and was the wrong type of bank check.
"How can this be possible? We followed your directions. Marc came over. "Need some help?" He asked.
"No, I think we're just not going to buy the truck. They transposed the numbers, and the check is short. The difference is more than the combined balance of both our credit cards. I thought the number was low when talking with them on the phone. But they assured us it was not. Well, it was."
Marc asked. "Do you have the money?"
"Yes, just not here."
"I'll pay for the truck, you just write me a check when we get home."
"Marc, I can't have you do that."
"James, one thing you'll learn about us all. We all step in and step up when our friends need help. You need help, and you have the money. So what is the issue? I wouldn't have offered it if I didn't want to help. Please accept."
"Okay, thank you." We returned to the desk, and Marc handed over a black credit card.
"You're paying with a credit card?"
"Yes. Actually, both vehicles."
"Uh, okay, let me run the card for this one."
He returned, "It was accepted. I've never seen that before. Emma, here are your keys. Now for the second vehicle."
Mandy and Marc came to the desk. They looked at the paperwork, approved, and handed over that black credit card again. The salesman was floored. "You're buying this car too with the credit card?"
"Yes. Go run it."
"It was accepted."
"I wouldn't have given it to you if it hadn't been."
"Here are your keys. Thank you very much for your business."
Em got in her car, Mandy in hers, and Marc joined me for the ride back.
"Thank you, Marc, you made Em very happy. We'll get you the money tomorrow."
"James, we are a very tight-knit group. We are probably closer than most siblings. We would all stop time for one another. You have the money, I'm not concerned. I can help a friend, that's what is important to me. The little things count too. As you are already seeing.
As an example, one of the guys had a major issue a few years ago. I mean, a life-or-death issue. Mandy and I grabbed overnight bags, hopped in the Ferrari, and went to him. He was in serious trouble and needed his friends immediately. I pushed the Ferrari and got lucky with the cops. The others drove up eventually. We're all here when needed. No strings attached.
You and Em are like the rest of us. You'll see those little things happening soon. You'll be part of it."
"Thank you. It's just taking me a little longer to adapt to everyone than it has for Em. I guess I'm too worried about what I can contribute to the group."
"Jay, don't overthink it. Just relax, enjoy the conversations and activities, and you'll feel right at home. Once you get to know us all, you'll be fine. Shannon brought you guys in for a reason, and Sam says you're both a perfect fit for us. Sam is never wrong. She has that vibe for people. I don't know how to describe it, but I've never seen her be wrong about people. Just relax and be you."
I drove following the girls in their new cars. Both drove pretty quickly, but I had no problem keeping up. We stopped in Enfield for food. Marc moved to Mandy's rover, and I followed Em home.
The weeks started going by more quickly. Both of us are working hard, and both sets of parents went to Florida together for 2 months.
Monday morning, Em said, "Do you mind if I invite Debby up for the weekend to help us plan the wedding?"
"Not at all, you know she is welcome any time."
"I didn't know if you had any plans for us."
"Not this weekend. I think I'm just going to relax and start that book I picked up last week. I'll be here if you guys need me."
"Great, I'm going to call her now and see if she is free."
She called Deb and put it on speaker. I turned the TV volume down.
"Hi Em," Debby said.
"Hi, Debby. Are you still interested in helping us plan the wedding?"
"I sure am."
"Would you be available to come up this weekend? I have a list and am not really sure what to do. I want to start with you before asking our new friends to help. It would mean so much to me."
"Your timing is perfect, Em. I have no surgeries scheduled for at least the next two weeks. I'll get a flight for Friday morning. Would someone be able to pick me up?"
"I will and will be in my new car."
"What did you get and why? I thought your car was new?"
"Every time I looked at it, I saw Jay's destroyed car. I couldn't shake that memory. I was out shopping with my girlfriends a few weeks ago, and we stopped at the Land Rover store in Hartford. One of my friends bought a Range Rover like the one you loaned us, and I was driving that day. I bought a new Defender 110, 4-door, go-anywhere, do-anything with it. I'll send you a picture and pick you up in it. It looks very different from the one Jay is driving. I love it.
My friends call me the defender because of that stupid run-in with Jackson when they were with me. Now I don't think of Jay's poor Subaru anymore. Let me know what time your flight is.
Deb, I can't wait to see you. Thank you."
"Em, I can't wait either. Congratulations on the new car. I can't wait to see it and you both. Clint sends his love. See you on Friday. Watch for my text with flight info."
Em was happy and came over, plopping beside me.
"Hey, happy girl."
"Debby is coming in on Friday morning. We're going to work on the wedding plans this weekend. I can't wait!"
She got off the couch and sat on my lap. I picked up her hand and kissed it, looking deep into her eyes. She wiggled on my lap, making me hard.
A big grin appeared on her face. "Come on, the bedroom is calling us. I'll give you two minutes to get naked! Come on!" She jumped up, pulling me up. I didn't need a second invitation.
We had our way with each other. Lying side by side, looking at each other. Smiling and then laughing.
"You know, I never dreamed I could be this happy." Her smile got bigger. She pulled me closer, pulled up the sheets, and we fell asleep.
In the morning, Deb sent a text with her flight info. Em took a picture of her Defender and sent it to Deb. Her flight comes in at 10:10 am.
The week went by, and Em got Deb at the airport. I came along too. Hugging Debby hello.
"Deb, this is my Defender."
"It's so cool looking. Very different from the big Range Rover. I like it."
They dropped me off at the house and went out to eat. I went to work. Saturday arrived, and they took over the dining room table. Wedding invitation books are everywhere. Notes and paper. I walked by smiling. They were having fun, and I let them be. They would show me the results when they were ready.
"Are you both interested in lunch? I'll make some PB&J sandwiches."
"Sounds great, Jay. Can you make some popcorn to go with it, too?"
"Sure thing, ladies. It'll all be ready in 5 minutes."
I made lunch, brought it to the kitchen table, and listened as they excitedly talked. They both ate quickly.
"Leave the plates, I'll clean up." I finished, washed, and watched them at work. I snapped a few pictures. My heart was warm with love. They were loving this.
I heard Em say, "I have to pee, I'll be right back."
The doorbell rang. Debby said, "I'll get it."
I looked over the back of the couch.
She opened the door, and four police officers were standing there.
