I sit at my desk late on Friday afternoon, tucked away in my office on the upper floor and take a minute to just reflect on how things are going. I've been working on the deck to the other senior leaders, reporting on sales figures and projections for most of the afternoon, and have just given it a second run through to check for errors. Didn't find any. It's ready.
It's probably a stretch to say that things are perfect in my life. How can you really define perfect anyway? Life's messy, and it shifts constantly with any number of random factors influencing things one way or the other. I've learned to abide by a mantra of 'Control what you can control' a long time ago, and generally let the little nudges and bumps of life happen. As long as the main pillars are in place and solid then things are good.
And those pillars are solid. At 32, my health and fitness are good. I'm in better physical shape than I've ever been. I'm no Greek God and you won't find me tearing it up at the gym, but I'm active, still playing football regularly, not eating or boozing too much.
My work life has gone really well in the last few years, and since becoming a Director I've settled into the role more comfortably than I'd expected. My sales teams are performing really well, my bonuses have been great and the top brass are happy. I'm not working 50 hour weeks. I get the occasional overseas trip which I really enjoy. I feel in control, and am still learning and developing. The future's bright.
I have a great group of friends who I see exactly as often as I like. We're there for each other. The bonds are solid.
And then there's Kelly. We've been married for 3 years, and honestly I feel like I won the lottery with her. At 27 she's 5 years younger than me and she's gorgeous. 5 foot 6 and blonde with sparkling blue eyes, so pretty she makes me melt, and with a very pleasing body. She keeps fit with yoga, mostly, and the results are spectacular. But her personality is the reason I married her. She's just the best. Cool, funny, unfailingly kind and smart too. She's a rock for me when she needs to be, inspiring me to be better but supporting me when I need it. We've been talking about starting a family, and Kelly's nearly ready.
So I feel like I won the lottery with her. In some ways I guess I did. She and her family are very wealthy. I didn't know it until we'd been together for 6 months, and I'm definitely no gold digger, but it was a pleasant surprise when I first saw her parents' house.
So with her wealth, her income as a marketing manager, and mine as a sales director, we live a very comfortable life. Don't rock the boat and I'm set...
I don't usually go for drinks after work but am making an exception today. We hired 2 new people to the sales team this week, and I heard there were a few others joining in credit, so there's a casual gathering in the local pub from 5. It's half past now, as I save my work, close my laptop and head out.
The 'casual gathering' is actually pretty substantial. Most of the office staff have turned out, and it takes me a while to work my way around the room to spend time with everyone. I have a couple of beers, some good conversations with our new hires and my direct reports. I really like both Paul and Lindsay who've joined this week. Paul seems smart, controlled and personable enough. Subtly, dryly funny. Lindsay's a hoot though. Sassy and a bit flirty, but not too much.
I also get introduced to the new recruits from credit. I likely won't have much to do with them, but the business is small enough that I know everyone's names and will need to learn theirs. I don't think I'll have much trouble remembering Sabrina's. Partly because I instantly think 'Teenage Witch' which locks her name in, but also because there's just something about her. She's attractive. Where Kelly is bright, slender and sparkly, Sabrina is dark, sultry and intense. We're chatting in a group for a few minutes and my attention is on all of them, but it doesn't escape my notice that her eyes have been on me the whole time. I make my excuses and move on to another group, but I catch Sabrina looking at me a few times. Kelly arrives a little later. She's been to the hairdresser after work and she looks amazing. We work the room for a few minutes together and then head home.

Things are still good. Paul and Lindsay have settled in really well. Paul's already established as one of our top performers, and while Lindsay's in mid-table she's made a big impact on the team as a whole. It's a happier environment for her presence, and you can't really put a monetary value on that but it's important to me. Numbers in general are good, I'm happy, bosses are happy.
The only fly in the ointment is that Marcus is leaving the team. He's been an established high performer with us for years now, but found a great external opportunity and is moving on. We'll miss him, and he'll be hard to replace. I've posted the job vacancy and we'll see what happens.
Kelly's happy. I think. She's really busy. There's a big campaign she's working on that's taking up a lot of time, and she's working late more than usual. But she's buzzing, rather than frazzled, and I'm fine taking on more of the housework and cooking. It's eating into our time together a little, and maybe we're making love a little less, but I can't say it's a problem.
We really do make love, too. Slowly, closely, with feeling, eye contact, kisses and caresses. We become one and it's glorious. It doesn't change and it never will. Her lithe body always feels wonderfully soft yet firm against me, and we never fail to satisfy each other.
We're making tentative plans to try for a baby in the new year. Kelly wants to wrap up her contract and ensure it's all running smoothly first. Makes sense.

It's been dawning on me for a while that I really made a mistake. It was probably the right decision from a professional standpoint. Actually, scratch that. It was the right decision for the business. Sabrina has done brilliantly since I brought her into the sales team to replace Marcus. Her numbers have been excellent and, like Lindsay, she's built great chemistry with her colleagues. Personally, though, it's a problem.
I should have known when I interviewed her. I always do the second round interviews, effectively to rubber stamp the decision of the sales managers, or make a final call between two candidates. My sales managers had told me she'd aced her interview, but with no prior sales experience I wanted to be sure.
Of course I'd seen her around the building plenty and she always looked good. Much curvier than I'd thought when I met her in the pub in her first week. But at the interview she'd dressed to impress. The green jersey dress she wore was almost demure, but tight enough to showcase a frankly obscene hourglass figure and just low enough to display a hint of sumptuous cleavage. Black stockings and heels highlighted perfectly toned legs. Hair and makeup stylish but subtle. Nothing inappropriate but the whole package was... something.
For the next 45 minutes she was confident and convincing. The eye contact was unwavering and compelling, if not very slightly unnerving. She spoke smoothly, laughed (and jiggled) in the right places. She was clearly smart and thoroughly charming. I shook her soft, warm hand at the end of the interview, knowing we'd give her the job. I'm sure she knew it too.
As she left my office, she looked over her shoulder briefly and caught me watching her bum swaying. The look on her face was utterly knowing. Almost a smile, probably more of a smirk.
I felt utterly seduced.
As the weeks rolled by I found myself both dreading and eagerly anticipating contact with her. I'm a happily married man, and her boss's boss, so I'm not going to do anything I shouldn't, but it's becoming apparent to me that in a moral vacuum there's nothing I want more than Sabrina.
And every damn day she subtly shows me that she knows it, encourages it, and teases me for it. And she knows where the line is, both in the way she dresses and the way she acts, but it's like she has a radar for when I'm around and finds a pose or a movement that just exudes sensuality for a brief moment and I can't look away.
I got to work early on Monday morning, and I walked through the sales office to grab a coffee before heading upstairs. Sabrina was the only person there. She was arching her back slightly and tying her hair in a pony tail. The window was behind her and the sunlight shining through showed the lacy black bra through her white blouse. Fuck. She looked round and saw me gawping.
"Hi John, how was your weekend?"
"Pretty good, thanks Sabrina. How was yours?"
"Good, but a little quiet. Saw some friends Friday, but then mainly stayed home on my own really."
"Oh, I assumed you had a boyfriend. I don't know why..."
"No. Not for a while," she said with that seductive smile.
"Must say I'm surprised. It can't be for lack of options..."
As soon as I said it, I regretted it. I'd told her how attractive I found her. I'm usually better at this. Sabrina's smile in response was knowing and dangerous.
"Well thank you for the compliment, John. Maybe I'm just too much for most men. Or maybe I'm just waiting for the right man... Anyway, enjoy your coffee. Have a great Monday," she replied, those deep, dark eyes staring straight into my tormented soul.
"You too, Sabrina."
I turned and left, and I swear I heard her sigh as I opened the door to the corridor.
It isn't helping that I'm getting less time with Kelly at home. Things are still great when we're together, but more of her time is being consumed by her work. Evenings and weekends are seemingly never completely free. She reassures me it won't last much longer, and I'm not being a dick about it, but I know I'd find Sabrina less distracting if Kelly and I were intimate more often.
Hopefully things will slow down in December. They always do.

December

The timing of Kelly's work trip is decidedly sub-optimal. 5 days up in Manchester will coincide neatly with the company Christmas party. But not only that, it's been nearly two weeks since Kelly and I have made love. Again, things are still good with us for the most part, but her work is putting a strain on her and, by default, us. We're not in trouble but I feel like we desperately need proper time together. We haven't even been able to have a 'date night' since September. I miss us.
At work things keep trucking along. I overheard some chatter about Sabrina having had a few dates with a guy that seem to have gone well. I am both relieved and insanely jealous. I shouldn't be jealous, obviously. But I am. Very.
It doesn't seem to have had any impact on her behaviour towards me though. She's still bewitching me on a daily basis. She wore a shirt tartan skirt, boots and a v neck top the other day and I swear I couldn't breathe for 5 minutes. We've had attractive girls in the office the whole time I've worked here and it's never been a problem. What is it with this woman?

Christmas Party
*************
We've got a function room booked in a local hotel, and I and the senior leadership team are there early to greet our colleagues and welcome them with a glass of sparkling wine (or a beer, which tends to be the preference of the warehouse staff). We're glad handing for a while, and it's great to see everyone dressed up for a change - dress is fairly casual at work, but it's suits and party dresses tonight. Most people have arrived and the other senior leaders have drifted off to their tables.
Then Sabrina walked in. Or rather, sashayed.
"Hi John, were you waiting for me?"
"Hello Sabrina. Not deliberately, but it's worked out that way. You look lovely this evening," I said, with epic level understatement.
Her dress is red, silky, draping and clinging to her body. Low cut on top and slashing high up her leg. Stockings, matching heels, hair glossy and styled, perfect makeup and glittering jewellery. She's fit for a red carpet.
She leans in close and kisses my cheek. The smell of her almost knocks me over as her chest briefly presses against mine.
"Well thank you, it's lovely to be appreciated," she breathes.
"Glass of fizz? They're calling it champagne but I'm not convinced," I say.
"Ooh, cheap plonk. You sure know how to treat a lady."
I lead her towards the main room, and we check the seating plan.
"Oh, it looks like we're sitting together," she says, linking her arm with mine.
I am decidedly conflicted at the prospect of spending a lot of time next to her.
We walk into the room, still arm in arm, and I pull her chair out for her and we both sit. For the next hour and a half we are just part of a group of colleagues, chatting away and having a great time. As we're next to each other there are a fair few one on one chats between us. They're casual, a little flirty and subtly imbued with a sexual tension that is absolutely inescapable. Our legs touch under the table, and her hand briefly rests on my arm. Her other hand plays with her hair. All of it is turning me on and she fucking knows it.
We're not joined at the hip all night. I don't shirk my responsibilities and make sure I spend time with as many people as possible.
Then I see Sabrina on the dance floor. Christ. She can move. Unsurprisingly there are a lot of young men not far away from her. She sees me watching and smiles at me. In fact she doesn't look away at all. Just continues swaying and posing and teasing. Eventually I move away and return to the bar for a gin and tonic.
"Ooh, is that a G&T?" She's there at my shoulder, linking arms with me again.
"It is. Would you like one?" I offer.
"I'd love one."
"Single or double?"
"If I have a double I might get tipsy and lose control," purrs Sabrina.
"A double it is, then, Miss Mason," I reply.
SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT! What am I doing?!
"You are dangerous, Mr Mitchell. I like it."
We drink our drinks, chat with a few others at the bar for a bit, and then she drags me to the dance floor. Not that I need any dragging by this point.
For the first couple of songs there's minimal contact. The songs are upbeat, and we're close but not inappropriate. The slow song that follows is a different matter altogether.
Sabrina was pressed against me, arms wrapped loosely around my neck straight away. We moved in sync, with her thighs pressed around mine. I could feel her warmth and her perfume overwhelmed me. And she could feel me up against her. She shifted gently, letting her body slowly rub against my rapidly expanding manhood.
"This feels good," she whispered.
"Yes, it does," I replied.
I couldn't think for the few minutes that the song lasted. When it ended, she kissed me on the cheek.
"Thank you for the dance," I said.
"Anytime, John. Any. Time," she replied.
She slowly walked away, leaving me breathless and desperate. She looked over her shoulder at me with a seductive smirk as she walked back into the bar.
Over the next hour or so I kept my distance, but she still kept my attention. I chatted to other colleagues, as did she, but she seemed to always be in sight.
As the party wrapped up, I moved towards the exit and found Sabrina alongside me.
"I hope you had a good time this evening," I said.
"Oh I definitely did. Thank you for being such good company. And for being a great dance partner... so are you heading home now?" she asked, almost innocently.
"Actually, no, I've got a room at the hotel tonight - they comp us a few as part of the booking. And as my wife's away for a few days..."
"Oh how convenient," she interrupted. "To have a hotel room waiting for you, I mean." The look on her face told me she meant something else.
"Yeah. I think I might have one more drink in the hotel bar before I head up..." I looked at Sabrina who stopped walking and corrupted me with her eye contact. "Would you like to join me for one?"
I had no intention of inviting her. None. It didn't cross my mind until I said it.
"That sounds great. How could I resist?" Next thing I know we're linking arms again.
We had a glass of wine, sat in a booth. We talked, flirted, little touches. I was totally under her spell.
But as much as I wanted to take her upstairs with me, I managed to resist. Sabrina didn't push it or even acknowledge it as an option. She thanked me for booking her cab, and we parted with a soft hug and a kiss on the cheek. Then I went to my room, took a shower and laid awake for hours thinking about Sabrina, and about what a terrible husband and human being I am.
************
It's January 20th and Kelly's out of town again. Another week in Manchester. She'll be there for two weeks in February too. I should be grumpier about it than I am.
The truth is that our life together is slowly fading in favour of my obsession with Sabrina that I'm struggling to avoid. Seeing her 5 days a week in the office is making life difficult. I want her.
And she's teasing me something chronic. Maybe she's just that sexy that she can't help it, but every time I see her it provokes a physical reaction in me. That doesn't happen with Kelly. I mean, sometimes, sure. She's gorgeous. But it's every damn time with Sabrina. Even if she's not trying. Or maybe she always is. FUCK!
I'm in trouble.
At 5pm on Friday I close the laptop and make my way to the exit. As usual I walk through the sales office to say goodbye to anyone who's still here. It's just Sabrina. She's looking particularly good today. Skirt, jersey top, stockings and heels.
"Still here, Sabrina?"
"Yep, just me, but I'm leaving now," she replies.
"Got much on this weekend?" I ask.
"No, not really. Watching the pennies a bit after spending too much at Christmas. What about you?"
"Having a quiet one too. Kelly's away at the moment so I might see some friends tomorrow for a bit. That's about it."
"Well if you're not busy, why don't we go for a drink?" she asks. We haven't done this. Just going for a drink together. It feels dangerous, but at the same time I can't come up with a reason not to. And... I want to.
"Sure. Why not. We could go to The Victoria, or maybe the wine bar down the road?"
"Hmmm, pub if I'm buying. Wine bar if you are," she says with a smile.
"Well if you're watching the pennies, then the wine bar it is." I'm such a sucker. But the wine bar is a nicer and more intimate environment.
Three glasses of wine later, and we're in a taxi to my house. I'm not quite sure how it happened.
I cook spaghetti carbonara and we have more wine. She offers to wash up but I refuse. I'm the host, it wouldn't be right.
The sink is full and I'm just about to get my hands wet when I feel Sabrina's fingers caress my shoulder.
She kisses my cheek. Her lips are so soft and she smells incredible.
"That's for a delicious dinner," she says.
She doesn't move away.
I turn to face her.
We're all over each other. The kisses are hungry and urgent and the sensations are overwhelming. She tastes like... sex. That's the only possible description. It's like a hormonal, chemical, feral experience where I have to have this woman. The way her fingers are scrabbling to remove my shirt and rubbing at my crotch I know she's feeling the same thing.
Before I know it we're in the bedroom and I'm lifting her top over her head while I'm kissing her neck.
"Oh god, John, I want you so much," she hisses as she fumbles with my belt.
"Fuck, Sabrina, I want you too."
"I've wanted this for months. Forever. Make me yours. Please," urged Sabrina, as she took out my cock and stroked me as she pulled us both onto the bed.
I yanked down the straps of her lacy black bra, and tugged at the cups to free her breasts. Large, full and round with hard dark nipples. I took one in my mouth as she hitched up her skirt and pulled her tiny panties to the side.
And then I was inside her. My god she was hot, and tight and wet. It felt like every part of her was responding to me and feeding that energy straight to her pussy. Her fingernails were digging into my back while her heels were on my bum and forcing me as deep as I could go.
She was babbling. "Oh god! Oh! Oh yes! Fuck me! I knew it! Fuuuuuck!!"
I was somewhere else altogether. It was like my stomach muscles had been created purely for this moment, and like her body had been built to take everything I gave her.
"Fuck me John! Oh god yes! I'm cumming on your cock! Oh! Oh! OH!!! YEEESSSS!!! FFFFUUUUUUCCCCKKK!!!"
But I kept going. And going. Her hands and legs just kept pulling me closer and her pussy felt hotter and tighter.
"OH! JOHN! AGAIN! I'M CUMMING AGAIN BABY!!! AAAAAAGGHH YEEESS!!!! CUM IN MEEEE!!!"
"FUCK FUCK FUUUUCCKKK SABRINAAA!"
And my body pulsed and shook as I got a release like I'd never had before. Everything that was tense went slack as all that I had was pumped deep within this incredible woman.
We breathed and sweated as I rolled off and out of her. I was completely drained. It took a minute until I even noticed that she'd slid down the bed and was sucking our juices off my cock. Expertly, seductively yet desperately.
Before I knew it she was climbing on top of me and I was inside her again. How was I hard this quickly?
She pushed her perfect left breast into my mouth. "I knew it would be this good. I knew you were... oh fuck... the man for me. Oh god I fucking... aaah I knew it. You're my man John. You're... aaah... you're mine."
She smothered me with kisses as she rode me. Then she lifted her chest up and let her fabulous tits sway and bounce in my face as her quim clenched and squeezed me.
"You fucked me baby, now you need to make love to me. Make me feel it."
And I did. We felt it. We knew it. It was heaven. Fucking heaven. I came inside her again, our mouths locked together, both of us moaning into each other's souls.
We lay together and couldn't stop our hands exploring each other's bodies.
There's something about a room that's just filled with the smell of sex that just makes you want more. And that's how it was. I don't know how much either of us slept that night, but I do know that when at least one of us was awake there was some kind of sexual activity happening.
The sun started to seep through into the room and I had a moment of clarity. At first it was horrific. I'm sharing my marital bedroom with the most sexual creature I've ever encountered, and she's not my wife. I'm not a complete arsehole, and it did feel awful.
Briefly.
But then her body moved against me and I couldn't control myself. And suddenly the feel of her body, and the smell and the taste of her was too much and I was with her again.
"Sabrina," I said as I got my breath back some time later. "Are you actually a witch?"
"Um, probably not? And I'm definitely not a teenager, if that's what you're thinking," she replied, binding my fingers with hers and pressing them to her left breast.
"I only ask because it's like you've always had this hold over me. I've barely been able to think about anything else apart from you for months. And I don't know how or why. I'm married. And I've always loved my wife..."
"Who knows? Maybe? I don't think I cast any spells, as such. But I do know I wanted you and... well I like to get what I want. Is it a problem if I am? Do you mind?"
"No. It's not. I... I well I have things to sort out, but all I know now is that I have to have you. And I will..."
This couldn't be hidden. Couldn't be controlled. Couldn't be tamed. This was the purest expression of passion and I had to accept it and face the consequences.
***********
It was horrible. All her time away might have suggested to me that maybe Kelly had her own side thing going on. She said, through furious tears, that wasn't the case. I believed her. There was someone who'd flirted with her, but she'd never done anything inappropriate because she was 'FUCKING MARRIED!' and it hurt like hell to know I couldn't hold myself to the same moral standard.
But ultimately I couldn't feel too bad. I didn't want to hurt Kelly, but my heart wanted another. I'd married a wonderful woman, but not the right woman.
I did my best to be kind but there's no kind way to tell someone who loves you that you don't want them anymore. You love someone else so much more, that you'd give up the life you'd been building for 5 years and the plans to start a family, 6 months after meeting her.
So we divorced. There was no pre-nuptial agreement but I didn't try to claim anything from Kelly that wasn't reasonable. She'd keep the house, and I'd continue making any reasonable support payments. Essentially I just left, took my things - not our things - and moved them into an apartment not far from work.
I was hardly ever there, of course. I was with Sabrina, constantly. I saw her less at work, of course, as she had to leave her sales role and move back to credit. I still had plenty of sway within the organisation so that, after confirming our relationship to the rest of senior management, I was able to arrange her transfer.
My progression within the business was hampered, though. It was gently conveyed to me that sacrificing my marriage with a respected woman for an... underling... suggested something deficient in my character. I couldn't argue.
But I didn't give a shit. Every second with Sabrina was worth a fortune. My career aspirations had dissipated. She was pregnant with our first child within weeks of the divorce becoming final.
Within a few years we had a son and a daughter, and a nice enough house. Nowhere near as fancy as the place Kelly and I had, but that was no longer a relevant comparison. What mattered more was that I didn't travel for work, Sabrina was with our kids, and we were together.
And that feeling we had that first night together never left. Never slowed.
So maybe I was bewitched. But if endless joy was our result, then maybe she's the good witch after all?
