This is one of those "Do Not Fuck with the soft pink skinned mammals" that "originate from the third plant in the Sol sector" type stories that seem to be floating around on various social media platforms. As always this is a work of fiction, and I alone am responsible for its content, any resemblance to any person living or dead is purely coincidental and unintended. Now on with the story.
'I'm not sure what time it is; these human clocks still confuse me even after all the years of being couped up in this room. A human told me once, that I was living in a "gilded cage" after the defeat of my people more than 50 of your years ago. You humans were so soft and squishy, you didn't look dangerous and even the "Galactic Counsel" told us to leave you alone. Ahhh, to have that moment back and to take the left passageway instead of the right one, we Draxian were proud and warlike species from what you humans call NGC 6752 by Vela.
'We'd taken over many planets and you humans were just starting to push out of your little corner of Gould Belt, you didn't have any idea we'd been watching you for more than 380 cycles, ever since you sent out those first messages all those many cycles ago. Yes, they were intercepted and the Counsel chose not to answer it until they had more information about you. The Zintle sent their ships to watch, they reported back on your First World War and your second and the discovery of you splitting the basic building block of the universe. The Atom.
The counselors were taking bets as to when you'd destroy yourselves, but you didn't which was remarkable in itself. Then you started throwing yourselves out into the cold, dark void, the bets started yet again and still you survived. The Creetion remarked that you were a resilient species and several agreed, we just sat back, watched and continued to conquer the smaller, weaker species in out part of the darkness. You also continued to have wars, oh did you have wars, at several points it looked as if half of your sphere was in some kind of a conflict with the other half either directly or indirectly.
But still you survived and prospered, built structures in space and lived in them after going to your moon, then you went back to your moon and built habitats there too. The Creetion foresaw you doing the same thing to your 4th planet, the one you call Mars, many on the counsel doubted them then had to eat their words once you did it. Still, we took little to no notice of your achievements, you still posed little to no threat to the Draxian race.
Then you did it, you found faster than light technology, built ships and started looking through the universe then came the ability to fold space and go even further, faster and finally we started to notice and watch you too. You expanded quickly, almost to quickly and you came to the notice of the full counsel, and they started to debate whether they should stop you or contact you, we started planning to invade and subjugate your minor planet.
It started with the council's decision to contact you and then to give you a minor seat on the council and to welcome you into the Grand Galactic Brotherhood of Planets. At first, you were quiet, almost too quiet, you watched and nodded along like the good little minor species you were. Never complaining about how you were treated or spoken of by those on the various sub comities or even talked down to during discussions, you just smiled along. By the God's your smiles were the worst of all, they were infuriating at times.
Then you backed the Jarkins in their trade dispute with the Narns, in many beings' eyes you chose the wrong side to come down on, then you helped broker a deal between them, and many wondered whose side you were really on. Still, it all worked out, so to speak, in the end, and many looked at you with new interest as you began to build a small coalition of other minor species. You talked, oh by the 50 God's did you talk, it was infuriating to the depths of Groog. The worse part was that you got others to talk and come to a concession or to meet in the middle all the while we watched and determined that you were soft and getting softer. The Grand Counsel of Dragons, planned to invade your worlds and take you into our control.
Some plah headed scientist had labeled your plant a "death world", not for what you'd done to it during your time as it's caretaker, by the plains of Morn you weren't even its apex predator species. But still you ruled a planet that, by many scientific studies, was trying to kill you every single day. And your smiled about it, and thrived, that's the worst part. We figured that you'd make excellent fodder for out many wars or as menial workers on or in the mines and refineries that we controlled, I mean you seemed to thrive in the face of adversity.
We started watching you from beyond your Oort cloud sending in probes, watching and listening to your broadcast, in the counsel you seemed to be one people, on your own planet you were still bickering like young hatchlings at feeding time. Then you started to fight amongst yourselves again and that's when we knew that we had to strike, and strike we did, taking out several outer minor colonies, but not without minor losses of our own. Bah what was the loss of nearly 3000 Doric troops, they were not but 'cannon fodder' as you called them and easily replaced from any of the 40+ systems we controlled.
Of course, you protested to the Counsel and to the Grand Galactic Brotherhood about the unwarranted attack against your minor colony, of course we counter protested back that you had been squatting on one of our planets and we were simply taking back what was rightfully ours. You quickly figured out that the so called GGBP was little more than a bunch of gutless cowards that were really controlled by the more powerful systems. You appealed to your coalition of minor systems but many of them had been bought out or threatened by us under the table or in back-room deals, we had done this many times.
We started cleaning you off the planets that you'd spent years mining and exploiting, capturing thousands of your people leaving only death and destruction behind us for the cleanup teams to take over. For the first 6 or 8 of your months everything was going well and then we started receiving distress calls from the groups we placed on the planets we'd overrun. Nothing specific but reports that teams were overdue and hadn't reported in in several cycles then we'd lose contact with the terraforming crews.
Your ships would attack our warships and even if we destroyed 5 or 6 or more, there were always more coming in from all angles, it was like trying to smash a blood fly swarm with a rock. Then came the attack on the refugee ship that I believe was the beginning of the end of my species, the attack killed hundreds of children and Ambassador Boris Ivanski informed the GGBP that Earth would no longer abide by any treaties or restrictions and the commanders and ships that had destroyed the duly marked hospital ship were to be turned over to earth forces within 24 earth hours for justice, or the repercussions would be dreadful.
Of course, we just laughed, thinking your threats hollow and baseless as we prepared to invade the next planet. We let the time play out, then watched as a monster from the depths of your hell rose out of the cold darkness on your moon base. I found out its name after 13 of your months, when it came to Dracona, and its name was the TSS Cerebus, named after the 3 headed dog that guarded the gates of your underworld. And a demon dog it was, no matter what we sent against it, it crushed them without mercy or thought.
Soon thousands of your ships were invading and liberating planet after star system as the Draxian overlords were removed or overthrown one by one as where their lackies and boot lickers. Human soldiers moved and attacked as if they were mind linked, I later found out that it was because each of your soldiers no matter their rank, knew the plan and what their position in that plan was. Our soldiers were not trusted with that level of knowledge, subsequently when their officers were killed, they had no knowledge of where to go next or what to do and where ground under by flexible, fast moving human troops.
More than 40 systems and over 110 planets were freed as one after another of our empire were taken from us in the same way we took them in the first place, by force and conquest. Our strongest ships and most powerful weapons seemed to either be absorbed, deflected or simply passed through the hull of the Cerebus as if it wasn't there. The weapons on your ship were horrific, destroying our major capital ships with 4 to 7 hits from its powerful energy weapons or with 1 shot from the ancient rail gun that shot its bolts at.8 of C, (8/10ths the speed of light or 536,494,193mph). When it hit a ship, it didn't so much explode as it just simply ceased to be as the kinetic energy vaporized the surrounding mater into an expanding ball of plasma.
When your troops finally landed all resistance had collapsed, I was sitting on what was left of my empire which had stretched more that 30+ light years from side to side not 13 months before was now down to 1 planet, 1 moon, around 35 ships and less than 100,000 troops. I could have thrown the last of our troops at you humans, but what good would it have done? I knew it was time and simply watched their commander come in and demand my surrender.
I will say that my return trip back to your earth was quite comfortable and the lawyer that was provided to me did his best to prepare me for what was going to happen once I reached earth. You humans worked fast and had me standing before a judge 30 of your minutes after I landed. The trial took less than 2 of your weeks and I was sentenced to life, I'd expected death considering how much death and destruction were caused in my name and on my behalf.
And now here I sit, I've watched my guards come and go for many of your earth's rotations, I've been granted several visits by several of my wives and by 4 of the new prime ministers that were elected by what was left of my people. I know that my time is growing short and want the record to show the truth as I knew it and to make a plea to those that come after me, Do Not fuck with the pink skinned mammals from the 3rd planet in the Sol sector. Once your focus their anger and purpose on you, you stand almost no chance of surviving for very long.
