The Conference

It's not as it seems, cheating, Conference affair. Finger anal play, affection, Humour?

The Conference

Sorry folks, another one of those three in the morning ideas that popped into my head. Took me four hours to write and half a lifeline to edit so it made some sense. Hope you enjoy the story.

As usual, this is fiction with nothing new in British English.

People may have to read this twice to get where it is going! You might enjoy it more the second time around.

***********************************************************************

I was sitting at the bar with a glass of wine looking forward to a long hot shower, maybe a bath, a bite to eat, the restaurant here was quite good in the evenings. A bottle of something decent, not what I was drinking now. Maybe a phone call to my husband if he wasn't too busy. Then an early night. I might practise my presentation in front of the mirror before I went to bed.

Why was I here? There had been some new building regulations issued, mainly concerning listed buildings and this conference was to inform the building trade of what they were, interspersed with vendors advertising their equipment. I was sent here by my boss, Harold, to present our kitchen and bathroom equipment range. We sold to both household and industrial markets. The Conference фото

It had been a long day. Leaving home at the crack of sparrows this morning, then a morning of boring lectures and presentations. Then booking into a drab hotel room after a mediocre lunch, an afternoon of mundane talks from self-appointed important men from the government, telling us in microscopic detail about the new regulations. Then overimportant men and women telling us about what the new regulation changes meant to them. Slotted in between those boring lectures were arrogant salespeople trying to tell people that their equipment was already compliant with the new regulations and telling us why their equipment was better than their opponents, without actually mentioning their names.

After listening to the pomposity of the government people, the overbearing, arrogance and sheer bragging of the salespeople, I decided to tweak the presentation that I, and my husband, Dave had made. He had made time to listen to my presentation and gave me a few hints and tips. I was making notes on my phone wishing that Dave was here so he could have a quick look at my new approach. Never mind.

I was drinking the house white. I prefer red but after today I wanted something cold and sharp to clear the taste of mediocrity from my mouth and mind. This fitted the bill. I had no idea what it was.

A chap was standing in the middle of the bar in front of the beer taps. He nodded to me, picked up his pint, drank half of it and went "Errgh," and pulled a face.

I chuckled. "That bad?" I said to him.

"Yes, this isn't something I've come across before," He said holding up his glass, "but it's all they have. My backup's Guinness, but they've even run out of that as well as any decent ale. What place runs out of beer?"

I thought about back home. "My pub regularly runs out of beer. I think the landlord is on some sort of scam."

I was about to go; I placed my empty glass on the bar after finishing it.

"Would you like another one?" He indicated my empty wine glass and said. "It was rather dire in there, wasn't it?"

"I... I don't know."

"Just the one for cheering me up. You're the first person that has not said anything about building and electrical regs or tried to sell me stuff, and most of them don't even know who I am or what I do."

I gave a little laugh. "I know exactly what you mean, that's been happening to me too, and some other things."

He raised an eyebrow "An attractive woman like you, I can imagine." He held his hands up. "Whoa! Sorry, that was too forward. So can I buy you that drink to apologise now?"

The cheek of the man, I quite liked it. "Okay, just the one."

I had seen his wedding ring, he either didn't realise or he wasn't trying to hide it.

He waved to the barman who came to him and said. "A glass of whatever the lady is having and a pint of this," he said pointing at the beer tap. "Whatever it is?"

The barman leaned forward as he took his glass. "Worthington E sir. Not our most popular beer, but that lot," he said, nodding to the rowdy crowd at the far end of the bar, "Drank all the good stuff and we've not had a delivery yet. I'll bring them down, Sir."

I glanced down to where the rowdy crowd were, it was the group of the government officials patting themselves on the back deciding what a good job they had done without asking anybody else their opinion. In the far corner was a crowd of salespeople busy congratulating themselves about a good job which nobody else in the group seemed to agree with. I gave a small smile. I was well out of that crowd. Sales was fairly new to me and if this was anything to go by it might not last.

As the man walked towards me, I appraised him, well you would. Quite tall, broad-shouldered, bit of a military bearing thing going on. Middle aged, about 45 maybe 50. Nearly a handsome face, dark hair, well trimmed going grey at the temples, correctly dressed in a dark suit and tie for this sort of event, and there was a confidence about him, not arrogance, just confident. It could have been the military bearing in the way he walked.

He got to me, pointed to the stool next to me and said "May I?"

"Please, be my guest."

Before he sat down, he put out his hand. "Malcolm Whittington."

I took it, it was firm, slightly calloused. This hand had seen some manual work. It had not spent all day sitting in front of a computer.

"Claire Williamson."

He sat on the stool facing me, I swung round to face him, it was only polite.

"May I ask what Claire Williamson is doing here?"

"I'm here representing my company. My boss Harold sent me down to try and conjure up sales for our new range of kitchen ware for both the home and industry. I've got a presentation after lunch tomorrow, I'm not looking forward to it."

"That is rough, that's the worst time. After they've eaten, probably had a couple of drinks, they won't be paying attention, maybe even nodding off if they do turn up. But if I might be so bold, some will be paying attention for all the wrong reasons."

I was confused. "Sorry?"

He held his hands up. "Sorry, I feel I'm going to be inappropriate again, people will be looking at you and not listening to your presentation," he paused and said quietly. "That was not meant as a compliment or flirting. It's a reality, men like looking at good looking women."

I blushed but carried on. "So, tell me what is Malcolm Whittington doing here?"

"My company does work and renovations on listed buildings. I've got the slot just before lunch and I'm giving a presentation on the new building regulations concerning listed buildings. How much work will get approval. I'll also be talking about the problems you may come across with the new regs. My company is looking to set up a consultation section to help builders understand what they can and cannot get away with. Sorry, what they can and cannot do, I mean." He smiled; it was an attractive smile. His eyes sparkled. I've got a feeling he enjoyed his work.

"I'm hoping we can pick up some business from it as well. My Father started the company, but I took over when he passed." He held his hands up. "It was a long time ago, we've built well on what Dad left us. We think he'd be proud."

He leaned towards me and said. "This is a bit forward, but would you like to swap slots tomorrow. You take mine before lunch and I take yours? Presenting about bathroom and kitchen equipment can be a bit of a dry subject and I have a feeling you'll be stuck behind the podium. Whereas I'm free to move and I'm not trying to sell equipment, I'm trying to sell ideas. I am planning to walk around the stage pointing out things in the room as an example, and as you may have noticed I can have quite a loud voice. That should stop the buggers from falling asleep." He gave a little smile. "They will still probably ogle you in the morning, but not as much as in the afternoon."

I felt myself blush. The cheeky bugger, but I liked it.

"Why would you do that for a stranger?"

"Oh, it's quite simple, you can repay me by having dinner with me tonight. It will save me from eating alone" He held his hands up again. That was his defensive habit. I'd only known him a few minutes and he'd done it about four times. "Look at it this way, two people here on business and I have no wish to join that rowdy crowd, and you certainly don't look like you would want to either. I can offer you an element of protection when that lot home in on you tonight? Also I feel in the short time we've been talking we've set up some small rapport."

He was right, but I wondered how my lovely husband David would think about that. I was about to say something when Malcolm lifted his left hand so I could clearly see his wedding ring. "I'm married, and I can see you have a wedding ring on. It may be real or a defence, so it's just dinner to keep each other company."

My turn to raise my left hand. "No, it's real."

I smiled. "Okay then, I already have a table booked for seven but it's for one. If you'll excuse me, I'll go and see if I can get it changed to two."

I headed towards the restaurant, and I found a waiter and asked if I could be moved to a corner and change it for a table for two. I wouldn't want to be seen by other people at the conference that might put two and two together and come up with four. There was never going to be a four.

As I walked back towards the bar Malcolm put his phone down. I noticed my wine and his beer glass were both empty.

"I've spoken with the organisers, and they have agreed after a bit of cajoling to swap presentation times. I even got them to print out a new running order and change it on their computer so everybody should know. But may I suggest you start off with some sort of explanation for the swap." He gave a small laugh. "But not the real one, don't tell them they will probably fall asleep in the afternoon after eating and drinking too much and spend their time trying to look up your skirt."

It was humorous the way he said it, it made me smile.

"I didn't get us another drink. I guess you will have to have stuff to do, phone your husband, that sort of thing, and it's your round next."

"You're right, I do have things to do. I'll try to phone my husband. He'll probably be too busy. I'll text him later. I've got the table sorted for half past seven. I'll get my round then."

He looked at his watch. "That gives me an hour and a half. I think I can make that." He gave a small smile. It was a nice comforting smile.

"I'll see you later." He stood and put his hand out again, I took it. He smiled and walked away towards the lift. I hadn't felt this comfortable with a man since I met David, in fact there was something going on between my thighs that I really didn't like. David and I had both been very busy, things have been a little slack at home on the intimacy front. It wasn't just him to blame.

I shook myself, waited until the lift door's closed and then went to the lift myself. I didn't see which floor Malcolm went to. I purposely didn't look.

I did send David a quick text, had a shower and started getting clothes out to wear. I'd been to this sort of thing before, there was no definite dress code, so I brought plenty of choices. I chose a simple cream satin blouse that went to the neck, no cleavage, and my leather skirt, whilst I would look good, I would also feel comfortable.

Then I looked at the underwear I had. I like the new burgundy set I got last week. I had brought it along for me, but David would get the benefit. I was tempted to go braless. I could still get away with it, just. But that might send the wrong signals to anyone who was looking, well to, Malcolm. I liked that lingerie, but should I wear it in front of Malcolm?

I made myself a cup of tea and sat looking at it. I made a decision. I love wearing that lingerie, wearing something smart like that even if no one was going to see it make me feel good, comfortable, in control. I bought that set for a special occasion. But it was really for me. Malcolm would never see it. I replaced the cream blouse I chose with a red one. That would hide the burgundy lingerie. Stockings made me feel good, naughty. Not seamed ones, well, I hadn't got any with me. I generally saved seamed stockings for David.

I had time for a bath but only a quick one. I felt a bath was more relaxing than a shower. Whilst I was drying myself, I rubbed my hands over my bush. Do I shave to be ready for David on my return home tomorrow? No, I had trimmed it for him last week and he hadn't taken advantage, so I'll let it grow, it was still quite short. He doesn't like getting hairs in his teeth. I smiled at that, that's why I kept it trimmed for him and he did the same for me with his man parts. I don't like his hair tickling my nose when I'm concentrating on his cock.

I curled up my long blonde hair and put a pin through it to hold it in place. I wasn't going to get very active, it was only dinner, so it would probably stay there. I looked at myself in the mirror on the back of the door. Bloody hell I looked good, not sexy, just good, and I felt good too.

I headed towards the restaurant wanting to be there a little early, I hate to be late. When I got there Malcolm was already there. He stood up as I approached the table, he looked smart, grey flannel trousers, blue jacket, open neck white shirt. He pulled my chair out and eased it in after me.

"Thank you." He nodded slightly.

The waiter appeared quickly. "What can I get you to drink Sir, Madam." Malcolm had been looking at the wine list when I came in. Looking at me he said. "Would you mind if I chose the wine? I don't think that white you were drinking with me was up your street, like my beer, it fitted a need."

I nodded. He ordered a bottle of Burgundy. He looked at me. I nodded my approval.

That was a medium-bodied red. He told me. "I've eaten here before. I'm going to go with the Boeuf Bourguignon because it will complement the wine. I'm having that." He gave a small smile. "The wine will match the colour of your blouse."

I nearly blushed again because it would also match the colour of my underwear.

He chose the food to compliment the wine, people normally do it the other way around. That reminded me of somebody. I was going to have the Coq au vin.

The waiter returned with the wine, Malcolm tasted it, nodded and the waiter poured it into the two glasses. The waiter took the meal order.

After he left Malcolm said to me." Tell me about Claire Williamson?"

That was a refreshing change. The few times I've been stuck at these things in the past. Most men and a lot of women went on about themselves, their company, how well they were doing, how good things are and I knew most of it was a bunch of rubbish, they were trying to sell me something. This man sitting opposite me asked me about me. It was refreshing. Then it crossed my mind he might have an ulterior motive.

"Claire Williamson, currently head buyer and sometimes salesperson for Harrison's kitchen and bathroom company. Specialising in industrial kitchens and bathrooms but we also have a domestic output. A lot of the work we do is on listed buildings which is part of the reason I'm here."

"No, that's what you do, tell me who you are, who is Claire Williamson?"

I took a sip of my wine. This was getting a bit close, l wasn't sure how far down that track I wanted to go at the moment. "Clare Williamson mid 40s that's all I'm going to say about my age." He smiled at that, I continued telling him that I had two children, one of each, our son was in college and daughter at university. We had a nice house and nice cars. I told him where our favourite places to go on holiday were and I was happily married. My face must have slipped at that last bit.

"Things alright at home? Your smile faded for a second when you said happily married?"

"I would be happily married, if I saw more of him. He's got this new project going and it's taken him away from us for longer than we're used to and things have not, let's just say, not run as smoothly as they have in the past. But I don't think it's all my husband's fault."

He gave a little laugh. "I know that feeling."

Our meals turned up, it was my turn. "So, tell me about Malcolm Whittington?"

Whilst he was eating, he told me about him, his brother who ran the business with him. He never spoke with food in his mouth. When he was talking, he delicately placed his cutlery on his plate. He told me he and his brother had taken over his father's building and restoration business when he passed on 20 years ago, he and his brother employed about half a dozen people. But he was currently neck deep in trying to get a Restoration and Maintenance of listed buildings consulting business up and running. Which is why he was here today. If it worked, it would mean more time at home with his family. He was 45. I didn't let on he was a year older than me. He was married with two children, a son in college with the intention of following him into the building business. His daughter was at university studying to be a veterinarian. I gave a little laugh. An eyebrow came up.

I smiled and said. "You said veterinarian as Vet'nry like in the James Herriot in those All Creatures Great and Small books about being a vet in the Yorkshire Dales, I love those books."

He beamed a smile at me. "I've read those and so has our daughter, that's what made her want to be a vet, sorry Vet'nry. Of course it's not like that these days."

I smiled back. This was really comfortable. I liked this man, but he hadn't told me where he came from. I told him I came from Hampshire, but not whereabouts in Hampshire.

The waiter approached us again and asked if we'd like dessert. I decided on sorbet; Malcolm spotted the blackcurrant and clotted cream ice cream which he said was his favourite. After the waiter left, Malcolm asked me to excuse him as he had to visit the gentleman's toilet.

He hadn't been gone long when my phone notification beeped. It was David. I retrieved my phone from my handbag and that was when I realised Malcolm had not put his phone on the table like so many other people did. If he had it, it stayed in his pocket.

I smiled as I saw the text from David. "Is everything okay? How is it going?" David was precise even when sending a text.

I replied telling him it was going well and everything was absolutely fine and I would tell him all about it when I got home. I smiled to myself well, perhaps not absolutely everything.

I slipped my phone back into my handbag before Malcolm got back.

Whilst we were eating our desserts Malcolm asked if I needed time to contact my husband. I told him I didn't, and again I felt a frown cross my face. I tried to hide it. Then Malcolm said something kind. "It's hard starting a new business, I know, my wife has suffered. But is it his fault, or your fault? Or is it a combination?"

"Well, he has this new project he is trying to get off the ground, some sort of expansion to his building business, but it's taking up so much time. He ignored me last week when I asked him to come shopping with me."

Malcolm sat back. "Let me guess, he declined." He smiled, "you're a very intelligent woman, you know we men don't like going shopping. Hey, my wife buys most of my clothes." He waved his hands down his body, smiling.

I gave a little laugh. "They suit you, she chose well.

"But I had a reason I wanted him to come shopping with me. But he went to the rugby club with his mates to celebrate something, some win or other."

"Did you tell him the reason?"

"I suppose I should've done. I was a little miffed at him."

"Can I be a bit forward here, what were you shopping for that needed his advice. You seem like a very capable person to me?"

I seem to have backed myself into a corner. I was blushing. I looked at this man and wondered if I could trust him, I decided I could, I said quietly. "I wanted some new lingerie for a special occasion, and I wanted him to help me choose it."

Malcolm sat back aghast. "The man's a bloody fool, I wouldn't let you go shopping for lingerie on your own if you were mine."

Then in a voice barely above a whisper. "I wanted it to be a surprise, so I didn't tell him. I think it's partly my fault."

"Or perhaps the man isn't a fool, just the pair of you were both a bit silly."

I could see something ruminating in his mind. He wasn't sure whether to ask or not. I wasn't going to help him decide. "I'm just intrigued, but did you get your lingerie?"

I simply nodded.

"Can you tell me what the special occasion was or is?"

"It is a little delicate." I said.

Malcolm sat back again, he had absolutely no idea what I was going to say, why would he. "I think my husband has just got financial approval from the Bank to increase the size of his company to take on his new project and I wanted to celebrate with him, but he went out with his company mates and to the rugby club. Then I had to come away to this debacle the following day, so we've not had time."

Malcolm waved the waiter over and ordered coffee, quietly he said. "If I may be so bold again?"

"Please do."

"I think there's a bit of communication problem going on here."

"Oh definitely." It was my turn to speak. "I have a plan that he may not like, but I think he'll go along with it."

Malcolm picked up the coffee pot and poured two cups. He offered me cream, I declined, then said. "I think your husband is a very lucky man to have you, and may I suggest you could be a little bit lucky because you've got a husband that is working so hard to support you and build your future."

I gave a little smile. "Oh yes, he listened to my presentation, suggested changes and came up with a couple of brilliant ideas which I've incorporated after a bit of wrangling with my boss, so you're absolutely correct. We communicate but sometimes not always about the right thing at the right time."

Malcolm leaned back in his chair and laughed. "Oh, don't I know that."

I felt Malcolm wanted to change the subject, he looked at me and said. "Rugby man eh. Cricket myself, the slap of Willow on leather, sunny Sundays, standing around, a pint of cold beer afterwards. I used to like rugby, bit too old for it now, hurts too much."

There was a pregnant pause, almost as if neither of us wanted to carry on a conversation. We'd finished our coffee, Malcolm said to me. "Would you like another drink? I could do with stretching my legs." He looked at his watch. "We've been sat here for a couple of hours now." I looked at mine. It was nearly half nine. "Yes please, a gin and tonic if I may, one chunk of ice please."

I watched him walk to the other end of the restaurant to the bar, when he got there, he turned and looked at me and smiled. He pulled himself up straight. Cricket, yes I can imagine him in crisp cricket whites, brilliant white shirt, sharp creases down his trouser legs, a bat over his shoulder, a cricket, not a baseball cap on his head with small tufts of grey hair just below the brim. Then a naughty thought crossed my mind. A man with a body like that, I bet he filled out his cricket box well. That was disingenuous to my Dave, but he would never know I had that thought. Malcolm implied he was getting past it, but I was sure he could sprint that 22 yards in a reasonable time.

I had to stop this! I had that warm glow between my thighs again. I switched off the picture of Malcolm in his cricket whites I had in my head.

I could hear the sound of music coming from the conference room. I gathered there was some sort of music entertainment, disco thing going on there. It didn't sound too loud. That would prevent people from talking and trying to sell stuff to people who had no need of it.

When Malcolm got back, I suggested we move to somewhere closer where we could watch the antics of our fellow conference goers in the conference room. He thought it was a good idea. I was tempted to put my arm through his, but that would have been too forward. I felt we had become friends over the last couple of hours, but that would be a step too far. David wouldn't like it.

We found an empty table just inside the conference room door. We watched people and chatted about how they behaved. 'People Watching' Dave and I called it. It was quite entertaining watching the antics of presenters, buyers and sellers from the sideline. Most people seemed to be having a good time.

Malcolm asked if I wanted another drink. I said I did, but I would fetch it. It was my turn. He was having the same as me, a single gin. We had a presentation tomorrow, he smiled at his own little joke.

When I got back Malcolm was standing talking to a chap. As I put the glasses down, he looked at the chap he was talking with and said. "Excuse me, can we carry this on tomorrow."

He faced me and said, "I like this song, would you like to dance." I stood back aghast. That was not in my scenario, then I realised he was using me to get away from the chap who was talking to him.

I smiled and nodded. "I would love to." As we walked, he said to me, "Thank you for the rescue." It was a slow one. We did the putting arms out thing until he put his arm left out and his right around my waist and gently pulled me in. Close but not intimately so. I put my right hand in his extended hand and the left on his shoulder with my arm running down his chest, so he didn't get too close, he whispered. "Waltz?"

"Yes." Now there was another surprise to this man.

He nodded, 1, 2, 3 and stepped off. We had done a couple of steps, and I felt him step on my toe, and after a couple more steps he did it again, then again. He said 'sorry' every time. We weren't getting in sync. I will admit I hadn't done this for a while, it could have been as much my fault as his. He eased himself away from me by taking half a pace back. Then I realised how tight he'd been holding me. We must have got closer as we danced, we still were dancing together, but at least he wasn't stepping on my toes. We managed to stay out of the way of everybody else throwing themselves around. The music stopped and another slow one came on. He whispered to me. "Shall we try again? I think I'll be in better step this time." He held me a little bit closer. Halfway through the dance he eased off again. I looked at him. "Sorry." He said, I could see he was blushing.

Then I realised why. I found it quite flattering that I could still turn a man on. Well, I could David, but I knew exactly what to wear and what buttons to push. The tune ended and another slow one. Malcolm said. "I think we should sit this one out."

As we walked back to the table, I felt that lovely warm feeling between my thighs. I was going to have to do something about that. I staggered a bit at that thought and Malcolm let me take his arm.

When we got close to the table, I noticed the chap that had been talking to Malcolm making a beeline for our table, well bees don't always fly in a straight line unless heading for pollen. Beer may have had something to do with this bee's flight path.

I certainly got the impression he wanted to carry on the conversation from before.

Before we got to the table I said. "Malcolm, I've had enough of this. Could we go elsewhere please?"

"Certainly." He tilted his head to one side slightly, which I found quite attractive. I think he'd seen the wandering bee too. He said quietly. "Would you mind if I ran through my presentation for you? I'm a bit nervous about doing it in front of people. I could grab a bottle of wine and a couple of glasses?"

I leaned back and looked him in the face. "Mr Whittington, are you trying to seduce me?"

He gave a cheeky boy grin and again tilted his head to one side. "If I thought it would work. Yes, I would try but we both have marriages that are not worth endangering."

I took the bull by the horns. "There's only you and me. Nobody around knows us. Okay they will tomorrow after the presentation. Malcolm Whittington and Claire Williamson will probably never meet again. Your presentation for the whole of this evening has intrigued me." I could see Malcolm reading between the lines I was saying. "As a one off, I think you should bring your presentation to my room, if you wish."

There it was! I had done it. I had invited a man into my hotel room. My heart was beating hard. I think everybody in the room could hear it. Malcolm took a pace back. Shit! I'd been rejected. Looking at me he said quietly. "Are you sure you want this, really sure? You know what will happen if I come to your room?"

I nodded.

"You are a very attractive, intelligent, interesting woman whose company I have enjoyed all evening, who would not! I would be honoured to... to come to your room." It was as if he didn't know whether to say sleep, make love or have sex. "Are you really sure? Once we have done it, we can't undo it."

I hesitated for a millisecond and said quietly. "Yes."

Just a nod of the head would not suffice for the betrayal I was about to commit.

"If we weren't being watched after our dance, I would kiss your hand. But yes, I would love to show you my presentation in your room. But we must be discreet. I will grab a bottle of wine, then I will collect my presentation and be in your room shortly."

He held his hand out, I shook it.

Bloody hell I had just invited a man to my room, and he had accepted and I knew full well what was going to happen. Not only was my heart beating loud, but it was going twice the speed. I was pretty sure everybody was looking at me.

I felt their eyes boring into me screaming "Cheater!"

I surreptitiously glanced around. No-one was even looking my way.

Malcolme had left and I went to the ladies. I saw some fellow conference women, we chatted and I told them I was off to bed to get ready for tomorrow. I watched their faces and saw nothing. As I left the toilet, I let out a big sigh of relief. Until I walked towards the door and the waiter handed me two wine glasses.

I blushed and made my way to my room. I hadn't been there for two minutes when there was a knock on the door. I didn't bother looking through the peephole. I just opened it to see Malcolm standing there. He quickly came in and closed the door behind him. He threw his arms around me and we kissed, hard.

He held on to me, this felt so right. but it could be only the once. I pushed him back so I could look in his face. "Remember just the once." He looked at me solemnly. But nodded his head.

I let him pull me back in.

I felt him reach up and pull the pin from my hair. It cascaded down.

He put one hand on my shoulders and eased me back. It was his turn. "Yes, I agree, just the once, so let's make this something to remember."

He took me by the hand and led me across to the bed. He placed the bottle of wine on the bedside table next to the two glasses. There was no presentation stuff, I didn't care.

I eased his jacket off his shoulders and flung it on the chair. Through a flurry of arms we managed to undo each other's buttons. I was first and I pushed his shirt off of his shoulders. That jacket hid so much, I think his body reflected his calloused hands.

When his shirt was on the floor his attention returned to the buttons of my blouse, I was worried for them. Then he eased the blouse off my shoulders. I dropped my arms so it could fall to the floor.

"Oh my, oh my, oh my your husband is a very lucky man." That sent a burst of guilt thrashing through me. He stepped up close and wrapped his arms around me. "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry I will never mention that again, but he is."

He took my face in his hands and kissed me. I started undoing the belt of his trousers, his hands slid down over my breasts then around my back and unclipped the burgundy bra, I dropped my arms and he slid it off. I was worried he'd bother about my sagging boobs. He didn't seem to notice. That made me feel good. He started kissing me from my neck down to my left breast, meanwhile his hands managed to find the zip of my skirt and it soon joined his trousers, shirt, blouse and bra on the floor. He eased me back at full arm's length and said. "This is stunning." I wasn't sure if he was talking about the lingerie or me. It didn't matter there was a look of lust in his eyes, something I hadn't seen for a good few months. That made me feel good. He got down on his knees and pulled my knickers down, now I wish I had shaved. He tapped one leg then the other and my knickers joined the rest of our clothes on the floor.

I was in a hotel room, nearly naked with a man on his knees in front of me. It was so bloody exciting.

It was my turn. "Stand up." I said. Malcolme did as I asked. I sank to my knees and pulled his underpants down, his cock sprang out at me. I shouldn't be surprised but it wasn't quite as large as I thought when I imagined the cricket box protecting it.

But it was a goodly sized cock and I took it in my mouth to tease him. Then I heard him mutter. "Shoes, socks."

I leaned back and almost giggled. There was this naked man in my room apart from his shoes and socks. I pushed him gently backwards. He took a step back and fell onto the bed. There was a flurry of arms and legs as I took off one shoe and sock and he did the other. I stood up and lifted a leg to take my shoes off. "Please no, leave them on, they make your legs look stunning."

I smiled to myself, I suppose he was correct. Now he was naked on the bed with this flagpole. I love sucking cock. I got on the bed and took him fully into my mouth. It was certainly big enough, I bobbed my head up and down.

I could feel his cock pulsing, I didn't want him to come just yet. He was thrusting up into my mouth. But I think he was trying to make it gentle. He was shuffling around to try to get his head between my legs.

I don't like 69, I like to concentrate on what I'm doing and not be distracted. When it's my turn to be on the receiving end, I just want to lay there and enjoy it. I pushed him back, I felt his hips jerk and I pulled off and left it pulsing before my eyes. It had been ages since I'd seen something like that.

Then I squealed as I was being tipped over and I was on my back and Malcolm was above me. I thought he was going to plunge his cock into me, and I would have welcomed it.

But the blighter didn't, he smiled at me and said. "Now you little tease, it's my turn, and if you don't lay still, I'm going to give you a spanking." He slid down, opened my thighs and licked, and licked, and nibbled, and probed with his tongue. He may not have massive equipment, but he's certainly got an active tongue and knows how to use it. I had several little orgasms. His wife was a lucky woman. Then he started teasing and would not let me come. I was thrusting my hips up at his mouth. I was nearly there and he would stop. I grabbed hold of his hair and thrust his face into my pussy. I think he had little choice as he attacked my pussy again, this time he let me come.

When I came down, he was still there, still going. I felt another one build slower this time, but as he was getting there, he pulled away and I felt his finger go in and then two he twisted them up into my G spot and then pulled away. The bastard. His kissing and licking started again and then I felt something strange. There was a finger next to my bum hole. David and I had never done this.

I heard Malcolm say. "Can I? I'll be gentle I promise."

I pondered for a second or two, perhaps this was something I could take home, something David and I could do if I liked it. "Please be careful. Stop if I tell you."

"I promise." For some reason I believed this man's promises. Even though I'd never met Malcolm before tonight I believed his promises.

"Relax." He said.

I tried and failed, he gently nipped the inside of my thigh. I tensed up, then relaxed and slowly the intruder entered. It wasn't big, it was pleasant then he started moving his finger slowly backwards and forwards in time with the attention he was paying to my clitoris. Then it hit like a steam train, I had to grab the pillow and scream into it and then I was all alone breathing heavily.

I opened my eyes and there was Malcolm kneeling between my legs looking at me with a smug grin on his face. I just had one of the best orgasms of my life and he gave it to me. I would never tell him that.

I struggled to get up on my knees. "Your turn buddy." I said, he laid back and I slid between his legs taking him fully in my mouth. I was good at this, but I had a plan, there was an urgency, there had been an urgency since Malcolm walked into the room and took me in his arms and kissed me. I fondled his balls and gently sucked, nibbled, I bobbed my head. Men can only come once so I better make it good for him.

I started diddling myself and got my fingers wet. I pulled off his cock. My hand was gently pumping his cock. I didn't want him to go soft. I slid my wet finger up to his bum hole. Again, this was something I'd never done before.

I heard Malcolm whisper. "Turnabout is fair play, but I've never done this before either."

I went back to bobbing my head and slowly eased my finger inside him as far as it would go. I was glad some of my games at home with David made sure we kept our nails short. I got it in as far as I could. I wondered if men had a G spot, probably not, but I lifted my finger up and all of a sudden Malcolm's hands were holding my head in place. He pumped, he gushed, filling my mouth and some of it went straight down my throat. I gagged and tried to lift off. He let go of my head and looking at him there were tears pouring from his eyes. "That was fucking amazing." I thought he wanted to say more, but nothing came out of his mouth.

I managed to get off the bed. I said to Malcolm, waving my right hand. "I think we need to wash these."

He smiled and managed to get off the bed. I thought his legs were a bit wobbly. We helped each other into the bathroom. It was a bit of a squeeze, we washed our hands at the sink at the same time. I picked up a small glass, filled it with water, gargled and drank it. David is not keen on kissing my mouth with his cum in it. He does, but he'd rather not. I sort of assumed most men would be like that. I didn't have a great deal of experience.

When I got into the bedroom Malcolm had opened the wine and pulled the bed covers back. Not that there was much to pull back, most of them were on the floor. We got into bed, snuggling did not seem appropriate, so we just lay next to one another. This was a sexual attraction not affection. We drank the wine, not saying much, there wasn't much to say.

I wondered if Malcolm was feeling as much guilt as I was. I was wondering what would happen next when I felt Malcolm's hand slide across my thigh and start playing with my bush. I eased my legs apart to give him a little more access. His fingers trailed down, he gently opened my lips and started stroking my clitoris. I looked across at him, he smiled. I rolled onto my side and lifted one leg to give him much better access. That worked. He was as good with his fingers as he was his tongue. I ran my hand down his chest, over his belly and there it was! It wasn't rock hard but it was getting harder. Malcolm finished his wine and placed the glass on the bedside table. I took my empty glass from me and put it next to his.

He whispered to me. "I gather you don't like 69?"

I shook my head, he carried on talking. "I gather like me, you've had a bit of a dry period the last couple of weeks, so let's try and make this one last."

Bloody hell could he go again? I wondered about little blue pills.

He kissed me all the way down from my neck, over each breast, down my belly. Laying between my legs he licked my clitoris again. I shuddered, but managed not to hang on to his head this time. He then slid up my body with kisses up to my neck, his hand now gently stroking my pussy lips and gently thrusting inside me. I clamped my legs together as I came. He whispered into my ear. "Open your legs or you'll get a spanking."

Now that sounded interesting, but I didn't want him to stop what he was doing so I lifted and opened my legs. He repeated his journey back down my body. As he licked my clitoris again, he slipped two fingers inside my pussy and gently pumped in and out. I could feel yet another one building, it didn't take long before it hit. As I came around from that one I glanced down. His other hand was gently stroking his cock. It looked hard enough to do what I needed him to do.

"Please, inside me." He smiled and nodded to me.

He moved up my body and slid into me slow and deep. He went to kiss me on the lips, but I turned my head. Apart from the first kiss when he came through the door, that was the only time I wanted him to kiss my lips, well the ones on my face.

He was fully inside me and it felt much bigger than it looked. He started off slow and deep, he had a steady rhythm, one that I could match by thrusting up into him. The orgasm built slowly, he picked up speed. I lifted my legs, he went faster. My heels scratched his back, shit, I hope I'd not left any marks. He didn't seem to notice; he pumped faster and harder. I lifted my legs and wrapped them around him and held him as tight as I could, trying to slow him down. It didn't work, he pummelled me hard and I came. I screamed into his shoulder. He stopped deep inside me and I felt his body shudder.

Bloody hell that was intense. I felt him collapse on me for a second or two then he rolled off. I lay there thinking how many times had this man done this? He certainly knows how to screw a woman. His wife is a lucky woman. I pushed the thought away. I didn't like it.

We spent a while getting our breath back. Malcolm picked up the wine bottle, I shook my head. "We're both presenting tomorrow."

Smiling looking at me he said. "Today." I looked across at the clock, it was gone half past 12. We'd been at this for nearly two hours. Okay we had a break in the middle, but at our age we probably needed that. I asked Malcolm if he could turn the lights out, he smiled and leaned across and the place went dark. He pulled the covers across. I felt he wanted to cuddle, but it wouldn't seem right to me.

I quickly fell asleep, satisfied.

I felt the bed shift and saw the automatic lights in the toilet come on. I could just see the bedside cabinet clock. It was five o'clock. When Malcolm came out of the bathroom it was my turn. When I got back to the bed, he lifted the covers up and I slid in. He got up on one elbow, leaned towards me. I felt his hand caress my breast and then slide down. I eased my legs apart. Bloody hell could this man go again. My hand found its way down to his man parts. Not as hard as yesterday but it wasn't completely soft. He leaned into me. "Yes or no?" He smiled. "If it's yes, I might need a bit of help."

Cheeky blighter, why not. I slid down the covers and took him in my mouth. All of a sudden he twisted me around, opened my legs and buried his head in there. I gasped as his tongue slid up my lips and contacted my clitoris, okay, perhaps 69 isn't too bad. He licked my clitoris and slid a finger inside and moved it backwards and forwards. It felt good, I heard him say. "Enough." He eased himself out of my mouth, spun me around.

Looking at me he said. "If I make you sore, tell me to stop."

I was sopping, I didn't think I'd be sore. He entered me slowly, he held me. He looked at me, initially I felt uncomfortable, this was like making love, not the animal sex we'd last night. I closed my eyes and just felt him Inside me, it was good. I opened my eyes and pictured David's face. "Faster, faster." I whispered.

He obliged, I felt it building. It wasn't going to be a big one. When it got here it was a warm, comfortable, rolling orgasm that seemed to go on for ages. My body shuddered, he shuddered and collapsed on me for a couple of seconds. Then he rolled off, I looked at him, he looked at me. I felt he wanted to say something, instead, he kissed my forehead.

He smiled, closed his eyes and gently started to snore.

Bloody hell men!

I felt the bed move again, I glanced across at the clock. A quarter to seven. I must have fallen asleep straight after Malcolm. He came round my side of the bed, leaned down and kissed me on the forehead.

"I need to shower, do you think we can risk breakfast?"

I smiled. "Yes, that would be nice but sit on opposite sides of the table. 8:30?"

He smiled, "See you there." He tapped the side of his nose. "Secret!" He whispered conspiritually.

I untangled my arm from the bedclothes, tapped the side of my nose and whispered back. "Secret!" With that he was gone.

I checked my phone for messages, there weren't any. I set the alarm clock for 7:30.

I managed to get up, shower, have a cup of tea, and pack. I have no idea how my legs coped carrying me through all that.

I got down to the dining room for breakfast and I saw Malcolm. There were two other people sitting with him and a spare seat. Unfortunately, it was next to him. I walked across and to no one in particular at the table I said. "Would you mind if I join you?"

One chap that I recognised as the one who had been talking to Malcolm last night when I rescued him said. "Please feel free."

"How is your preparation going?" Malcolm asked.

I laughed a little bit. "Oh, you're never really ready, are you? Life is always full of surprises."

I felt him squirm. We talked generally amongst the four of us about how the conference had gone. I managed to get to the buffet and help myself to a full English breakfast. I was ravenous. When I got back Malcolm was in deep conversation with the chap who was talking to him last night, the drunken flight path wandering bee. The other seat was vacant. A waiter came to clear the cutlery from the vacant slot and reset it. I asked for a pot of tea, a strong one.

Then almost the worst thing in the world I could think happen, happened. My boss Harold walked in. He looked around the room, saw me, waved and headed straight towards me. He didn't ask, he just indicated the chair opposite me and next to Malcolm was free.

I nodded, he sat down, a big smile on his face. "Hello Claire, how are you doing?"

I was about to say fine but he carried on "I had some time spare this morning so I thought I'd pop up and see how you got on, give you a bit of moral support, see if those ideas that you and David had worked." He looked around the table as if waiting to be introduced. I looked at the other chap sitting next to me. "I'm sorry I don't know your name."

"Clive Fletcher, Straight Arrow electricals, I've come here to listen to what Malcolm's got to say." He may have recognised me from last night when Malcolm asked me to dance. He looked a bit bleary eyed as if he'd been drunk last night, I hoped he didn't remember me. He certainly gave no indication he had.

I indicated Malcolm. "This is Malcolm, he's doing a lecture about working on listed buildings. Yesterday he kindly swapped presentation times with me, as you know, I had the one after lunch, which I wasn't looking forward to when I explained it to Malcolm, whose presentation has the scope to be a bit more energetic offered to swap."

Harold put out his hand, Malcolm raised himself off the seat, took the hand and shook it. I recognised Malcolm was obviously old fashioned, only women and dogs sit down to shake hands.

Things had moved on in social circles and it was now acceptable to sit down.

"Ah, you're part of the reason I've come. Would you mind if I recorded your presentation using my phone?" Said Harold.

Harold was not one for timing. Malcolm spluttered into the tea he was drinking. He recovered. "No, that's fine, but I do have leaflets to hand out."

"Good, good." Replied Harold. "Ah yes, leaflets. Claire's hubby Dave came up with a brilliant idea. Single sheets of paper printed on both sides and folded into four, so they go into people's pockets. People put up a QR code on a screen these days and they get scanned into phones and never get used. We initially thought of brochures on every chair, but nobody carries briefcases anymore. Well, some lady's handbags are the size of briefcases, but the majority of people here are men so David's idea was an A4 sheet of paper folded in four with our name blasted across the top. "Harrison's bathrooms and kitchens" and underneath that, "Traditional values." I've got one or two here, look." Harold was excited, he delved into his pocket and pulled out the leaflet that David and I had generated, folded and that I was going to place on every chair. He handed over one each to Clive and Malcolm.

Malcolm smiled. "Traditional values, I like that."

Did I detect a hint of sarcasm in his voice, he glanced at me as he said it.

Harold beamed again. "Yes, but it doesn't say what values, it's kind of open and people can apply their own values they like, and we will try and meet them." He pointed to the leaflet. "See there are QR codes if they want them."

"That's bold." said Malcolm he was hiding a smile I could tell.

"It is, but we think we can make it work." Harold carried on. "Right, time for breakfast." He waved the waiter across.

He ordered Eggs Benedict with a side of bacon. I told the waiter to put it on my room. Harold said. "No, I'll pay for it. I wouldn't want David to see two breakfasts on your bill. Should he see it, he might get the wrong idea."

Looking at Malcolm, he said. "Haven't met Claire's old man yet. She's only been with the company six months; she's doing very well. I gather he's in the similar sort of building business to you. Do you know him?"

He knew David was in the building trade, I'd told him and I'm sure he would have done at least a little research on Malcolm, or he wouldn't be here.

"I don't think I've met him." replied Malcolm.

I couldn't resist. "I think you would like him if you did."

Malcolm barely managed to keep the glare from his face. I don't think Harold noticed, and Clive was reading the leaflet.

I tried to fill in some time by chatting to Harold about the changes I wanted to make to the presentation. When we finished Harold asked if there was anything he could do to help. I asked if he would be so kind as to collect my suitcase and put it in my car. I hadn't slept well last night. I put it down to nerves doing the presentation. At least I timed it correctly so Malcolm wasn't taking a mouthful of his drink.

Harold did as I asked and collected the leaflets from my car at the same time. Harold and I wandered around looking at some of the presentations to get an idea of what we could bring to display if we came again.

I really wanted to sit down, my legs were suffering. So I told Harold I had to amend my presentation after watching other people. It wasn't really true, but it was the only excuse I could come up with. Harold wandered off looking at whatever caught his eye.

I was sitting at the table in the restaurant bashing keys on my computer, just bullet points of the changes I wanted to make. I felt a presence behind me, I carried on working then all of a sudden, Malcolm's voice said quietly. "I approve." Then the presence was gone.

Malcolm left us alone but sat close during the presentations. Before my presentation Harold went round and placed a leaflet on each chair. I looked in the mirror before I went on, I'd use makeup to hide the bags under my eyes.

During my presentation I took a leaf from what Malcolm was planning to do and moved away from the podium a couple of times, but my legs sometimes had ideas of their own and were having none of it. In my presentation I didn't tell people what they needed. I told them what the capabilities were and told them we would assist them in deciding what they wanted using their knowledge and our skill, it would be teamwork to get them what they wanted to achieve.

I saw quite a few people put the leaflets in their pockets.

It seemed to go down well.

Listening to what Malcolm had said I dressed down, not frumpy just neutral.

Harold and I waited by the conference room door approximately where Malcolm and I had sat last night as people left, some stopped and talked to Harold. He shook hands and beamed to everybody, and he handed out his personal card.

As Malcolm walked up to us he wiped his right hand down his trousers and smiled at me. Harold was busy talking to the previous people. Malcolm offered his hand, Harold took it, smiling. He held his hand out to me. I wiped my right hand and shook his.

Malcolm smiled and walked away.

I was still hungry, probably the nerves and Malcolm did that and I wanted to sit down. As I ate, I glanced into the conference room to see Malcolm walking up and down the stage. And then walking around the conference room.

I didn't want to sit too near the front. I didn't want to be in Malcolme's eyeline. I'm sure the guilt would undo me. But Harold did. He got his phone out to make sure he'd get a good picture. When I suggested that Malcolm was going to walk around a bit and it might be better at the back. Harold slapped me on the shoulder and said. "Bloody fine idea." We moved to the back and sat down. I was greatly relieved.

I watched Malcolm present, he was good. Looking at the man I'd spent all night in bed with, the guilt hit again.

The Regulations appeared on a big screen behind Malcolm with his interpretation in a way it could be understood, not jargonise. He walked around talking, pointing at things inside the building. He did mention that this building was modern and not listed so these were only examples. He never once mentioned his consulting business, but then I noticed they were folded leaflets on some chairs. I took a look at one.

The crafty bastard, I smiled to myself. I picked one up and read it. "Malcolm Whittington and Sons restorers of listed buildings and consultants." I opened it and there was a picture of Malcolm in a hard hat gathered round people pointing, Malcolm in an office, the building was obviously old. What is the point in trying to advertise consultancy on listed buildings if you're standing in a modern one. The building seemed familiar. I smiled to myself.

The conference wrapped up. I had a 21/2 hour drive home. When I looked around, I couldn't see Malcolm. I felt sad that I couldn't wish him well.

When I checked out there was a letter from him. "Thank you for a very interesting time. It is something I will remember, always. On a professional note, if you need my personal services or your company needs my professional services you have my address and phone number. Malcolm."

I smiled at the thought of last night. I felt guilty, so I pushed the thought into a box and put a lid on it vowing never to open it again, well only when I was randy and Dave was away.

I got in the car and phoned David and told him I was on my way home, he asked me how the convention went. I told him very well and Harold turned up to give support. He just seemed to brush over that. I told him roughly what time I'd be home. He said he was nearly home himself and we should have pizzas tonight. He told me he had a particularly raw Portuguese merlot that would go well with pizza. I chuckled to myself. I love that man, surprisingly the wave of guilt I expected didn't hit.

It was gone eight when I got in. I had to drop some stuff off at the office. I was hoping Harold would do it, but he wasn't going that way. I could smell the pizza. I walked into the kitchen. There was my David with an open bottle, he'd probably let it breathe even though it was less than £4 a bottle, 2 plates, a pizza box and a squeezy bottle of BBQ sauce.

"How was it, how did the presentation go?" He smiled. "I gather Harold turned up, do you think you got any business out of it?"

"Harold seemed to think we would get some. He learnt a lot, he recorded this chap, Malcolm, doing the presentation on working on listed buildings according to the new regs."

David smiled at me. "Anything else interesting happen?"

"I met this Malcolm the evening before. The chap Harold wanted to see so I introduced them. He is opening a consulting business on renovations to listed buildings and Harold thinks he may be useful to his company. Malcolm detailed to a level where even I could understand what the new regulations are. He must have spent an awful lot of time generating that presentation, it was bloody good. I think his wife is very proud of him."

David's head whipped round when I said that. I just smiled.

I suggested that we finish the bottle of wine sitting in front of the telly and talk about what we were going to do tomorrow as we both had it off.

Sitting on the sofa I took my shoes off and started rubbing my feet.

David looked at me and said. "Sorry about that, pass them over here." I swung round and dumped them on his lap, he started massaging them. It felt good.

David was rubbing my toes when he said to me without looking up. "Looks like I chipped your nail varnish when I stepped on them last night, I might have to repair that for you tomorrow."

"I might let you, if you come shopping with me tomorrow?"

"After what David learned from Malcolm I would be a fool not to."

I saw him smile as he carried on rubbing my feet.

David ran a nail up to the sole of my foot, it tickled, I jumped for stop and he carried on. "It took a while to remember the dancing lessons we took, but I got there."

I smiled at him. "Sweetheart, we got there."

He laughed. "I think you got there several times."

I slapped him on the arm gently.

It was heading towards ten o'clock when David said. "It's been a long day, bedtime?" He smiled at me.

I had to quash this. "Not tonight buddy, I'm just too shattered, but you said you would come shopping with me tomorrow, so I will make it something especially nice."

Smiling, with his head to one side he stood up and offered his hand he said. "I might even do the cooking."

I took his hand and he pulled me up and towards the stairs.

At the bottom of the stairs I was naughty. I stopped. "David, you went out for a celebration with your mates earlier this week, you're not keeping anything from me are you?"

He smiled, tilted his head to one side gently and said. "Not now I'm not, it appears." He gave a little tug of my hand and I followed him.

We brushed our teeth, slid into bed. We turned out our lights, David's hand sneaked across to mine and held it.

Quietly I said. "You played it so well the whole conference at times I really thought I was cheating." I paused. "It was so exciting, but I felt safe."

David squeezed my hand, then he spoke equally quietly. "Your Christmas party could be interesting this year."

I smiled to myself in the darkness. "Oh yes!"

"Perhaps we should record Harold's face when you introduce me as Dave Whittington, your husband, not Malcolm." I could hear the smile in David's voice. "We might have to point out Malcolm was my Dad's name so it's the name of the company"

Things had gone a bit quiet, I had a question. "Spanking?"

"You were frustrating me pleasuring you, so yes. In fact, I think I still owe you one."

I thought it safer to stay quiet, but I was intrigued, in all our married life we'd never done that, but there again we'd never stuck our fingers up each other's bums either.

David carried on. "I'm not sure if you using your maiden name so you're not directly connected between the two businesses is a good idea anymore. We need to think about that sometime. But I'm shattered, we both had a busy night last night."

"Yes, we did, I was really quite surprised by the amount of work that went into last night."

"Well not really. If I have the energy, being in bed with someone as beautiful as you in my bed it would be quite easy really." I felt proud I could turn my man on so many times.

I felt David roll onto his side and get up on one elbow. I felt he was looking at me even in the darkness. "When we found out we were both going to the same conference, it was a bloody good idea of yours to have a a special night together. Just the two of us. We've been so bloody busy to give each other what we both deserve lately."

I felt him get close and kiss me just behind my ear. I think he was aiming for my cheek but missed in the dark. It doesn't matter he was absolutely spot on.

I felt him ease himself back onto his back.

It was quiet for a few seconds and I heard David. "Just the once?"

"We may have to revisit that decision sometime." I replied.

Then David said something. "Malcolm was correct, we need to sort out communication. A chat for tomorrow I feel."

I noticed that David didn't say sometime, he said tomorrow.

With David's hand in mine, my husband and I strolled off into the land of nod together with smiles on our faces and contentment in our hearts and minds.

Footnote

When did you realise this was role play?

I tried to leave a few hints and clues throughout the story. Sometimes Malcolm slips into being David when he is in the height of passion and forgets his role. That is intentional. Some people may say it as a mistake.

May I humbly suggest that now you know where this is going, you re read it. Or at least skip read it.

I tried to make sure David's name never came up whilst Malcolm was talking with Claire.

I also tried miss direction in the tags, sorry about that, well not really ????

For clarity a lot of our old buildings are on a graded list of properties recognized for special architectural or historic interest. Some buildings in the UK are over a thousand years old. St Martin's Church, Canterbury, Kent was built before 597 AD and is still in use as a church today.
