I awoke early the next morning, as I usually do in the mountains. Trying not to disturb Mike, I slipped out of bed and went into the bathroom. Closing the door, I peed and flushed, then splashed cold water on my face.
When I came out of the bathroom Mike was still snoring lightly, so I pulled on some shorts and a hoodie and closed the bedroom door behind me. Let him sleep awhile.....

When Del and Jordy heard the key scrape in the lock, it was already too late.
Mandy entered the house by the front door, which opened up on the living room. It took a moment to take in the details of the tableau before her.
