Haints and Saints
The question being, of course, who is the haint and who is the saint.
Here is a little attempt at a sort of ghost story. As always, all characters are over the age of 18.
In the borderland between what was and what will be lies a land of not-is. This is the land of the not-living and not-dead and only the most lost find their way to its void....

Chapter 02 - The Gift
"Time?" I asked, looking at him askance as I waited for the punchline to what certainly had to be a joke. "Surely, you don't mean to say that your ring can actually stop time?"
Harold nodded and smiled, "Oh, that's exactly what I am saying, James. Imagine being able to stop time and take advantage of anything and everything around you."...

"GLYPH welcomes you to your new permanent position within our rapidly expanding family -"

When Max bit into the burger, many kinds of sauces came squirting out onto his hands. It was messy and he loved it. The burger bar had offered many condiments and toppings, and he'd basically put all of it on. Chili, ketchup, mustard, relish, mayonnaise, garlic-mayonnaise, barbecue sauce, ranch dressing, onions, cheese, different cheese, guacamole, tomato, jalapeños, lettuce, bacon, and bean sprouts. Was it a good idea? Absolutely not. Was it delicious? Absolutely yes. And he...

Chapter 12 - Black Market Conjuring
"Thanks for sorting the items," I said, inspecting the three bags of stuff from the lockboxes she opened by herself. We managed to get all the other ones open to some random gems and jewelry inside. The last few boxes needed demonic cultivation to slither into a hole that only accepted demon flesh for the purposes of unlocking. One was a medium box with what looked like a succubus vulva over it, but there was no entrance further inside....

Travel day one.
Alex was lazily floating from the bathroom to the cockpit as the ship around her tore through Hyperspace. But on the way something caught her eye, and she grabbed onto the wall, halting her motion as she peered into her kitchen. Eta was sitting on one of Alex's stools, intently working on something with her feet wrapped around the base to keep herself from drifting away. Floating before her was her toolbelt, one of her old slave uniforms, as well as one of her new flight suits....

His heart pounded with excitement and anxiety as Sasha led him into the vast dining floor. Earlier, when he passed through, many were lounging leisurely, awaiting their meals. Now, the feeding was in full swing. His eyes flew open at the spectacle before him.
It was a lavish display of indulgent and unrestrained feasting. All around him, demonesses dined in an atmosphere of carnal lust, lost in rapturous pleasure. Jake tried to steady his breathing, but he couldn't keep his eyes down, unable to look away...

The story is set in Florida, 20 years in the future. All characters, politicians, and the law requiring "Reorientation Treatment" for homosexuality are figments of my imagination. The law is merely a plot device; I think such laws are abhorrent and believe the government has no business regulating consensual adult sexual activities....

Thank you for all of the feedback. I made some obvious mistakes grammar wise in the first chapter. I didn't realize you can't delete/edit stories once they're posted. My personal and work life is busy, so stories may not come out as often as I want them too. But the positive feedback has definitely motivated me....
