wives stories and histories

It started with a journal I had students keep in class. That was an assignment I soon regretted giving as it risked piling more work on me. Acting preemptively I soon let the students know they could expect no feedback from their teacher on the contents of their work, no grammar correction either. I...

Leon's grin grew sharklike, slow and deliberate, as if her whispered question--What's the game?--had cracked open a door he'd already braced his foot behind. He took his time answering, savoring the silence that hung between them.
"Chess," he said.
Stephanie's eyes narrowed. "Seriously?"
Leon shrugg...

Life comes at you fast. One minute you're fucking 5 times a day in every room, in every imaginable position. Next thing you know, marriage and kids have made your sex life a once a month occasion.
But school's out for the summer, and I've been feeling bored and frisky. So when my little one stayed t...

Nora felt deep shame when she bumped into her old school friend Lizzy while out shopping. Lizzy was well dressed in designer clothes, while Nora was draped in ill-fitting supermarket brand ones. She didn't waste any time telling Nora how well her life was going thanks to her successful husband. He'd...

THE PREEMPTIVE STRIKE
PREAMBLE RAMBLE: Written very quickly in less than two hours when I couldn't sleep. And it may show. I've been wanting to write this story for a while except I'm fighting to finish three others. My goal was 750 words, than 1000, then the heck with it and just write what comes o...

It was a Sunday morning at home and I was having my coffee. I could hear my wife getting up and starting to move around upstairs. I did my usual and went and poured her a coffee so it would be ready at the kitchen table when she came down. Normally we would have our coffees and decide what the day w...

Our First Swing Experience -- Andy & Mindi
The swing club pulsed with slow bass and flirtatious laughter, the kind that curled through the air like perfumed smoke. Mindi and I walked in hand-in-hand, her stilettos tapping a sharp rhythm beside me, her lips glossy, her dress short and scandalously lo...

CHAPTER 10
I wasn't sure what woke me up maybe the birds, maybe the rising heat but the moment my eyes opened, I felt it. That weird heaviness in my chest again. Not fear, exactly. Not even guilt. It was something darker, messier. A mix of awareness and tension sitting low in my stomach, crawling up...

Part 1 -- Erica seeks answers from Jessa
***
The guest bathroom is a temporary refuge from Jessa's sexual innuendo. She's the first bonafide nymphomaniac I've ever met. I mean, there are some girls in my college that will sleep with anybody. They're trophy takers who'll fuck a boy just to put a ...

Emma used to walk into the grocery store with her chin high, yoga pants hugging her thighs, hair in a perfect ponytail, sunglasses perched like a crown. People looked. People whispered. She pretended not to hear. But she did.
Eventually, she went about reinventing herself. Hot yoga at 6am. New hair....

The Halloween Party
After months of barely crossing paths--late nights, early mornings, and work pulling you and your wife, Gabby, in opposite directions--you finally agree to let loose for one night.
Tonight, you're going to the Halloween party. The one whispered about by friends--the kind of night...

Why see a therapist anyway? Maybe I didn't need it! Ha ha!
I talked to a friend of Akemi, slightly strange guy. You never knew what he was thinking. Nice guy, just his eyes always seemed to be looking elsewhere even when they were pointed at you.
"So you like Asian women," he said to me. It was a qu...

Elliot and Claire had been married for five years. They had met soon after Claire finished university. Their relationship wasn't perfect but it was a strong one. They made each other laugh. Traveled when they could and rarely went to bed angry. They were close. The kind of close where silence didn't...

I was nervous as I drove to Hally and Steve's house. The drive was beautiful with the leaves beautiful shades of yellows, oranges, and reds. I was driving to receive my punishment from Hally. My punishment for getting pregnant with her husband. I was 9 weeks along, not enough to start showing yet.

I am George Harrison but not the famous musician. I am a qualified marriage therapist.
I recall the first couple who came to me for help. Jim and Sue were in the late 20s and had been married for 5 years. Jim had discovered his wife, Sue, wanted to have sex with another man. He only discovered it be...

Q & A with my wife and her female boss.
My wife discovers her colleagues are playing a dangerous game.
Writers note: The idea for this story came about when my wife, Luisa, came home early from a night out with female colleagues. It seemed the restaurant they chose to go to was busy, and the women d...

LN (pronounced "L N" or "Ellen") worked part time at the express register in a small grocery store at night until closing. Nothing really remarkable about her: she was 52 but looked 10 years younger. She had shoulder length black hair. She had soft skin. She was certainly pretty. Pulchritudinous. Wh...

"It's my Body, so it's my Decision! I already made this choice a long time ago. We're doing this for them. It's GOING to happen. That's just the way it is." I heard the words coming out of my mouth and tried to feel as determined as I wanted to sound.
My husband looked at me like there was a storm r...

Dear Readers: I have written this story into two styles. This story below is the Loving Wife's story but I've stretched a little, and spent a great deal of time writing this same story in the writing style of Edgar Allen Poe (whose work has inspired me to start writing these short stories).
I have u...

After a few minutes, I had to break the silence that was killing me. "So.. what happened?" I asked, not wanting to sound harsh or judgmental. After all, I already had a vague idea of what had gone on. She sighed softly, sounding tired and worried, as she relayed the evening's events.
She had met Cha...

I started writing this as an essay, but realized that the Essay category gets very few views and/or very few comments. And this is actually a Loving Wives story, at least by the definition of the category (extra-marital fun)
